I took a reformer class here last week with Brooke and it was a great experience. She was very kind and a great instructor. Our class was intimate too which was also awesome. The studio has a variety of the classic Pilates machines and props; such as the cadillac reformer, tower, and original reformer. I love that they focus on the classic Pilates principles and having good form unlike other studios which promote an adapted “version of Pilates”. This was super refreshing ! There was also tons of street parking which was great, I’d definitely go back soon.

I love South Bay Pilates because of the clean, calming environment, array of class options/times, and most of all the excellent instructors. I want to give a two thumbs up to Josh Guzman who is my favorite instructor because he is very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. I highly recommend his "reformer flow" and "power jump" classes. I also worked with him privately after my hip replacement because he was able to modify the exercises in stages to help me increase my physical mobility. Pilates has helped improve my physical and emotional health and I highly recommend South Bay Pilates!

Great studio, with wonderful management and exceptional instructors. I’m partial to Victoria for reformer Pilates, I take her class regularly. Her direction is clear, she watches us to be sure our form is correct so we not only avoid injuries but get the most out of the class. Victoria is also brilliant at accommodating injuries students may have to work around. (I’m one of those 😩) It’s a challenging class but not over the top. Katelyn the owner is also excellent, as is Josh. (I like Josh’s jump board class as well) Very clean and well maintained studio. Classes are small which is helpful. Highly recommend the studio. Have done so many times and always have received many thanks.

I have been taking private lessons with Sarah Kay for over a year, and I have been enjoying my increased strength and flexibility, as well as much improved posture. Sara customizes each lesson based on how I'm feeling overall and also on any physical issues I may be having. She has particularly helped me with my creaky hips, as I dance hula and they often get a workout. I always end our sessions feeling re-energized and refreshed. Sara is a positive, fun, very knowledgeable instructor, and the environment in the studio is relaxed and welcoming.

I am not usually a Pilates person but went to a class here on a whim. The studio was clean and inviting, and the teacher, Sarah M, was excellent. She is the nicest teacher and made me feel welcome, and then backed it up with a hard 😅 but rewarding class. Parking out front was easy, and I loved the community feel of this studio. I've been to every pilates studio between Playa del Rey and Manhattan Beach and South Bay Pilates is definitely my favorite. The energy inside the studio is warm and welcoming - positive vibes all around. I love how much the instructors pay attention to body positioning and form. There's truly not a bad instructor there but one of my favorite instructors is Sarah Miszkowicz. Her teaching style is in line with classic reformer training but she always seems to put a little twist on the moves that push you harder than you think you can go. She's also the sweetest and her light and humorous energy makes her class a lot of fun. But don't let that sweetness fool you - she will very much kick your @ss. 🤣

For the past year I have been dealing with nerve pain in my back, which sidelined me from physical activities. I've been struggling to find a new workout-routine that would not cause flare ups.

I discovered reformer pilates. It took a minute to get there because you're not supposed to try any work-out or exercise, while in acute pain, and pills can only get you so far. Ever since I started, about 4 months ago, I have been pain free. Something I wasn't able to say for too long. The work-out is very gentle on the back, while allowing your body to build muscles back up. Words cannot describe how wonderful it is to be able to exercise again, without debilitating pain the next day.

I am sure other instructors are wonderful as well, but I LOVE taking Josh' class. He has a calm in his voice, while getting you to push yourself just a little more. One more breath! I've heard other class-takers say it, but it's like going to therapy. You breath, move around a bit and all of a sudden, everything is better!

I have been taking private Pilates sessions with Katelyn Cox (one of the owners of this studio) for the last couple of month, and I have to say - my body is in HEAVEN!
A dance instructor myself, I have deep appreciation for other instructors, especially those who have a great understanding of the human body and a deep knowledge of the movement form they teach. Katelyn is a true gem! Her ability to pay attention to every detail, to tune into the specific needs of an individual is unmatched. Its only been a few weeks, but I am already feeling and seeing the difference. How exciting!
The studio itself is also a lovely space with a wide range of equipment and a great overall vibe. I highly recommend this Pilates studio to anyone. Enjoy the ride!
