We just had our wedding at South end Racquet club in mid September 2025 and it was a dream come true. The venue provided an incredible location for 150+ wedding guests and we never had to leave the premises.
We held our ceremony there that had a perfect backdrop in front of the gazebo while all guests fit perfectly it white chairs!
Following the ceremony, the cocktail hour was in the venue outdoor area next to waterfalls & indoor lobby. Providing plenty of space for people to drink and mingle.
The lobby had a full bar and we even added a Photo Booth that was provided by Pixster. Tons of room in the lobby where we also had high tables and our gift basket/welcome book for guests to sign!
Then came the reception in the large dance hall, still on the south end premises! Elegant event coordination provided the food and the best coordinator that worked along side the south end staff! They setup all the tables with white linens and it was breath taking…everything we wanted!
Highly recommend South end for events, especially weddings!

Really liked the club when I joined 7 months ago and I mostly use the pool to swim. Lately it’s become murky and they don't seem to clean it. Mossy growths on the bottom and trash / cups plastic items on the bottom that I see each day and they never remove it. Not sure I will re-join after this year.

I really appreciate the two reception staff members, whose names I unfortunately didn’t catch—they were exceptionally helpful, welcoming, and attentive from the moment I walked in.

However, I’ve consistently felt overlooked when trying to speak with the manager, Sam. Responses like, “I’m sorry, I don’t have time to attend to you right now. Just go online,” leave me feeling sidelined as a patron. It makes me wonder: if everything can be handled online, why not have an online pool, tennis court, or bar? The experience felt oddly impersonal and frankly “otherized.”

That said, the vibe and atmosphere at the club are lovely—well-maintained, with a great energy. If management could match that care and attention in person, this place would be much closer to perfect.

I have been a member at south end for about a year and enjoyed my experience. Beautiful facility and great pools for kids and adults. The type of workout classes can be hit or miss , but Sue’s cardio sculpt class is always a winner. Taking her classes has made me stronger and given me better endurance. The restaurant has great food, although the service slow. If you’re looking for a health club in the South Bay , be sure to check out South End.

I am writing this not based on the club or its amenities but for the complete lack of appreciation that my wife and I felt as club members.

We became members right about a year ago and loved it. Even though it was extremely pricy, we loved the experience of the whole place.

Due to some recent health issues and medical reasons, we did not visit for the last few months. We never asked for a discount or tried to talk to the office as we knew it was not their fault we were dealing with these issues and we were under contract for a year.
We did notice however that our year commitment was coming up and we wanted to meet with someone to see if there was a possibility of renegotiating the terms of the contract. This is where the fun begins.

First, The girl at the front desk was preoccupied with her lunch and was very distracted when we asked to speak with someone. After a few moments, she called Sam and tried directing us to Sam. Sam did not give us the time of day and asked the young girl over the phone what our names were. He then told her that there was nothing he could do to renegotiate the terms. We then asked to cancel since he was too busy to speak with us. The young lady then said, "You can email Kim to cancel". Now why would I email someone when I am there asking to speak with her? After she gets off the phone asking for Kim, she directs us to the business office.

Second, We found Kim and she did not seem to care that we were even there canceling. She handed us a paper that had us write down the reason that we wanted to cancel. There was no effort to try to keep us as members. She explained about the remaining charges but there was ZERO attempt at retaining us.

It was wild to see that a place like this does not put in the effort to keep you as a member or even care if you leave.

Things that I would work on if I were managing that place.
1. Better customer service at the front desk. Don't just hire for that position based on looks.
2. Strive to keep the clients that you have. They are paying a premium to be there, so provide a premium service and experience.
3. Try to find out why someone is unhappy with your club. If there would have been any effort to address our concerns we would have kept the membership.
4. Training. This goes from the front to the back. Having the front desk have the proper information to the sales guy showing face to the customers, to the business office trying to build or keep the business.

I hope this review reaches someone who cares.

I signed up for the pool only membership. The pool is great if you collect used bandages especially. It's so dirty and it gets even worse in the summer with increased visitors. The pool only gets cleaned twice a week. Not to mention the pool lane reservation process turns out to be much of a pain than originally explained upon sign-up.
I wish i could have cancelled my membership sooner than a full expensive year...

The place is a little outdated and although occasionally, there is remodelling going on, the improvements struggle to keep up with the Italian style of the whole complex, which cheapens it out. Additionally, members have an overwhelming attitude of exclusivity which makes you wonder as a number of them are medical doctors and it is assumed that they regularly deal with the public. The saving grace is its personnel, especially the girls working at the restaurant and the manager. You go there a couple of times and they are able to call you by name and remember your preferences. They are absolutely amazing. Honestly, before they came onboard, I never left a tip because I don't have time to deal with attitudes, but since this new team came, they make everything easier, which takes service to the next level. They are the reason, really, for this overall rating. If not for them, it would be two or three stars at the most.

Unfortunately the manager there left (Michelle) and a guy named Sam replaced her. Not someoent that should be managing the club.. but whatever, guy wanted to quote significantly higher rates than her from just a couple of months ago. Added a bunch of fees to the quote, which she never did... so I said look, I just want to hit the weights a couple times a week without paying a kings ransome is that possible ? He said "Not it's not".... lol. Wrong guy for the job.

We are fairly new members. My kids are young but they love tennis and swimming. The courts are great - I do wish you could reserve online though. The pools are lovely on weekends but can be crowded and there are definitely not enough lounge chairs - or any chairs - for all the people at the pool area to use. I do notice that people leave towels on the chairs and for hours no one ever comes to claim them.

Food at the restaurant is basic but good.

Looking forward to summer camp here for my kids.

I have used the fitness machines but haven’t taken a class yet. The class times are not the best for my particular schedule - I’d like to see more classes throughout the day and not just AM and evenings.

I have been a member here for almost a year now. See the photos related to below. I like the place and the staff is lovely. This is more of a constructive criticism and I will keep this up until corrective actions have been taken.

Sauna: Must be the dirtiest sauna i have ever seen. The sweat and waste remains on the wood and never gets cleaned. Wood color has changed to black almost. There are spider webs at the top corners. To top it all off… i have seen a RAT in there TWICE!

Lockers area: mud and dirt gets tracked from the outside too often and sometimes you walk out of the shower and straight into the dirty lockers room floor.

Showers: if you plan to use the showers past 10am, be ready for hair balls, bandage, and other dirty items in the shower.. sometimes these showers go days without being cleaned.

One of my favorite places in the world to visit. They go to great lengths to make sure their guests are covid safe. All employees wear masks and gloves.

Jeff and his team in the lounge are the most hospitable I have ever experienced.

Temperatures taken as you enter. Everything inside is closed for now. They moved the entire gym outside and provided a shaded environment with all machines at least 6ft apart. All members are required to wear masks and THEY DO! No one complains - they just do it. Disinfectant spray bottles and towels available everywhere.

I only take off my mask to eat or pose for a quick picture 😷
Getting up from the table to go to the restroom?
Wear the mask.
Eating dinner and forgot something in the car?
Wear the mask.
Need to get up and ask a question from the bartender across the room?
Wear the mask.
Everyone here does the same.

They have different rates for membership depending if you want to include tennis, swimming, or just social. I believe a single person membership starts at about $100/month. Don’t quote me though. Wifi is great here too. Many times I’ve stopped by just to get some work done on my laptop in a quiet place. Perfect alternative to home office. Call and ask for Michelle about membership information - she is terrific!

We terminated our family membership to SouthEnd. My husband i spoke directly to the manager about a male trainer who was making me uncomfortable, giving me a little too much attention. Was told that this trainer is a good guy, he's doing his job, and laughed at me. Basically it was my problem not his trainer's behavior. At no point did the manager give a sincere apology for how i was feeling or say he would talk to the trainer. Did kept saying he wanted me to feel comfortable while at the gym and what a great job he, the manager was doing in building up the Club.

The men's locker room, which was recently renovated, does not have a sufficient number of day lockers; the renovation removed the following: a bank of day lockers across from the showers; a bank of day lockers outside the steam room; and a long bank of day lockers down the main corridor which connects the pool entrance to the shower facilities. The only remaining day lockers are in a very small alcove near the pool entrance and at almost all times there is insufficient space to dress and undress. This is a ridiculous situation that needs to be remedied immediately.

We had lunch at the lounge and it was by far the most delicious food i've had in this area. They also serve alcohol which is a great plus. I highly recommend this place. With so many fitness places in the area, this one is just too full of themselves. Prices are out of bounds for a "gym". All the equipment is standard. If I want to go to a "lounge" for a drink, the area has plenty. If I want a haircut, I can go to a number of local salons. Same with a chiropractor. The big price is for all the conveniences they assume is what we all want. I wanted a gym. Not a place to eat, drink and get my hair done. I'm reminded of the saying "jack of all trades, master of none".
I've only had the regular membership, so heaven only knows what the tennis and basketball membership cost.
When they start improving the gym facilities instead of all the cosmetic frills I may re-join.
