I love that they finally made a gym close to my home.i like that theres alot of equipment here its usually starts to get busy around 6am so I recommend coming at 4am and gets busy in the afternoon around 5 or 6 pm Thursday are good to come less people because its the weekend so come to the gym and also if your a person that hates to much bright lights here is the place to come its like if your in a night club very friendly environment

Do not sign up for this gym. I canceled auto renewal and canceled my gym membership but they will still charge you for the duration of your contract. I called to cancel but they told me to come in to cancel and when I finally had a chance to come in, they said they'll still charge you until your contract ends. What a freaking joke.

Even though I wasn’t at Speakeasy Fitness for very long, the time I did spend there gave me a clear picture that this gym just wasn’t for me. The atmosphere fits their brand — kind of club-like — but the music gets repetitive fast if you’re not into that style. The equipment isn’t terrible, but a lot of the machines don’t adjust well for different heights, which can make workouts uncomfortable.

As for the staff, I’d say communication and professionalism were on the lower end. Most of the time, there wasn’t much enthusiasm or effort to make members feel welcomed. On top of that, it seemed like the staff weren’t very knowledgeable or aligned — different people gave me completely different answers when I asked about membership details.

The building itself could definitely use some attention — there are bumps in the second-floor flooring that could trip someone, the restrooms are small with barely any mirrors, and many of the lockers are broken or tied shut. The sauna also wasn’t cleaned consistently.

And honestly, the cancellation process was a hassle. I tried to be upfront and respectful, but I got a lot of pushback and had to follow up multiple times before they finally approved it.

In short, while the gym might work for some people, it just wasn’t a good fit for me. Between the maintenance issues, lack of professionalism from staff, and the difficult cancellation process, I decided to move on.

DONT SIGN UP LITERALLY A SCAM!!
I was looking for a second membership and wanted to give this place a try, they sold me on the $27/month for 4 months plan where I can go only Thursday-Sunday no guest “$1” to sign up. I paid $1 my first day and 3 days later I was charged $27 for what I thought my first month’s payment just to be charged $70 a month later as “annual maintenance fee”. I called right away confused how I could be charged an annual fee for a short term agreement and I was never told I was when I signed up in person.they told me I had to pay it and to cancel I would have to pay for the last 2 months as the early cancellation fee meaning I might as well keep the membership for the rest of the 4 months. The gym its self is decent, nice layout and enough space. All snack and drinks are overpriced charging Disneyland prices for a bottle of water. Plenty of better gyms for what they’re charging.

Amazing gym with good amenities, not far from my house to it’s perfect for me. The hours are really good and there is also plenty of parking in the front and in the back . Decent enough gym to get early morning or late night workouts in. When I was living in KTown the last three years I'd come here to fit in my lifts and cut weight in the sauna for my jiu jitsu competitions.

Affordable pricing.

Lots of racks and a big upstairs zone.

Cons:
- Don't like having a physical QR scanner, would rather they have an app or be able to let us scan through our phones (you can take a picture of the QR code and save it on your phone but it wasn't clear enough for me to use it sometimes).

- Parking lot in the back behind the dumpsters, then you walk all the way to the front entrance

NEW MEMBERS!!! Be aware of the yearly membership fee regardless of what the front desk reps tell you!! Last year I paid my dues for the full year and had zero problems. This year upon renewal they said they didn't have that option and sold me on a four month plan with option to change again at the end of the term, they had me sign up on an old iPhone that kept crashing so option to see terms and conditions at the moment were limited, I asked the rep if this plan charged the yearly maintenance fee several times and he said no, why would it, "it's only a four month term membership " so I moved forward. Fast-forward to 10/17/25 I get charged a $70 fee. I addressed it today 10/18/25 and the young lady at the front desk was very dismissive and careless, like if this situation is common practice for her. In a customer service role, you solhould be more understanding and try to help finding a solution other than just brushing it off, even if theirs no solution the effort is appreciated. NEW MEMBERS, PLEASE DONT BE LED ON BY VERBAL INFORMATION, THEY DONT HOLD THEMSELVES ACCOUNTABLE ONCE THE DAMAGE IS DONE!!! As for ABC Fitness(speakeasy Fitness), please train your employees to have higher standards on their unethical sales practices and consider lower maintenance fees for those so called "short term affordable plans".

Crowded like every other public gym in LA so thats not really a downside to me. Especially because i often go at 5PM. You may have to wait for a lat pulldown machine but other than that I never really had to wait long for equipment to free up. Gym is clean enough for how busy it gets and they’re usually on top of refilling and making sure there are cleaning supplies to wipe down machines. Bathrooms/locker room isn’t dilapidated or anything, but poor ventilation. You can smell the BO and toilets when filling up at the water fountain. Im pretty forgiving because the actual gym/equipment is solid and i dont really have any complaints there. Plenty of machines and free weights. Good amount of squat racks and I dont think ive ever seen someone curling in one. Equipment is often fixed pretty quickly.

I will mention, I am not on a monthly membership though so I have no complaints there which seems to be a major pain point with other customers (and also other gyms). I specifically chose this gym because I was able to purchase an annual membership upfront at a reasonable price. I am only giving 4 stars because before they used to offer a one year membership but now they just offer a two year membership. It is a little more expensive now as well, but still reasonable when broken down to a per month cost. I would prefer if the one year membership was still available but I still signed up for the two year because this is one of the better gyms I’ve worked out at.

I really loved this gym and was sad to leave when I moved out of state. Unfortunately, the cancellation process was brutal and left me with a very negative impression.
After canceling my membership, I later discovered that my Buddy Pass was still active and I was still being charged. When I called to cancel the Buddy Pass, I was told there would be a $75 buyout fee. I agreed, but then the employee told me she was able to cancel it without the fee. A few days later, I checked my bank account and saw that I had been charged the $75 anyway. When I called to clarify, I was told that the employee “never said that,” essentially implying I was wrong.
The back-and-forth and inconsistency made the experience feel misleading and, frankly, scam-like. I never had an issue with the gym itself—it was a great space that I truly enjoyed—but the way cancellations are handled makes me advise others to be very cautious with the financial side of things.
