State Street Pilates is a Classical Pilates studio, helping everyday people become strong, flexible, and aligned. We are about progress over perfection because Pilates is a practice not a performance. As Redlands’ first Pilates studio, established in 2001, we provide Classical Pilates training through private and semi-private sessions and small group classes. The studio is conveniently located in historic downtown Redlands at 233 E. State Street upstairs in Suite #1 (right above McDuff’s cafe).
You can book sessions and group classes on our website at the “services” tab.
Stated times of open/close may vary as they are determined by scheduled clients and classes.

I had such a great experience at State Street Pilates! I booked a 1-1 session with the owner, Megan, and she did a fabulous job educating me and helping me learn more about the Joseph Pilates method and the studio in general. Megan also helped accommodate exercises due to my hip problems. I had previously been to other pilates studios, but this State Street Pilates is very different. It seems the instructors here have more thorough training, plus, the smaller class size helps you get more personalized attention. I definitely plan to go back!

Absolutely love, love, love this intimate Pilates studio! It’s tucked away in downtown Redlands upstairs of the McDuff’s restaurant. Very clean and traditional equipment to what Joseph Pilates practiced with. I’ve been going here for a couple of months now and I’m really feeling the difference in my body, mind and spirit! The owner, Megan, and the class.instructors are all top notch and very informative! The energy runs high in the clients that join in the classes! I can’t wait to see my progress in the next several months!

State Street Pilates literally saved me. I had bad posture, was overweight, sedentary, literally 'shrinking' in height and feeling very lethargic. I had never really exercised regularly in my life. I signed up for Pilates not knowing what it entailed but feeling I had to do something. It is the best experience ever!! I feel so energized, I gained back the 1/2" I lost, I am standing taller and I enjoy exercising, which I never did before. My osteopenia is gone in my spine based on my most recent bone density test. This is the best program which is tailored to my needs and limitations and it's fun! I can now bend and move without creaking. My balance is very good for my age. I can sit crosslegged on the floor with my grandchildren and I have so much more stamina for my daily activities.
Pilates stresses flexibility, strength building, balance and toning. All areas that I needed to improve in. Since the instruction is provided in either a private or semi-private sessions, the instructors can really design it to begin at your functioning level but continuing to slowly increase the complexity of the activity. I feel very successful participating in this process.

I’ve been attending for several months now and I love it. I’ve seen great growth in my abilities. The workouts are tailored to you, the staff is lovely, the studio is super clean with new equipment, and booking online is a breeze. There are often fun activity nights, and you can choose to take group classes or just have private sessions. This is a fantastic place to learn a great workout, and that combined with the awesome staff have me coming back every week. Thanks SSP!

I'm so grateful to have found State Street Pilates. What I thought I knew about Pilates, including that it was only for young & very fit individuals, was incorrect. It is for everyone that wants to be stronger "from the feet up", which I do, as a 54-year-old woman with knee issues. I was nervous the first time I went, but Megan (and every instructor I've met since) creates such a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, I immediately felt comfortable. I had worried I might not be capable of the moves, but Megan provided (and continues to provide) the guidance and support I need. Since that first private session in March 2024, I am not only physically stronger and in less pain, I also feel proud that I tried something new that has benefitted my body & spirit so much.

I have been going to this studio for the past two years and they are wonderful! When I first started I had terrible back pain from my pregnancies and was having trouble even sitting on the floor when playing with my kids. I’ve been going faithfully once a week and I I feel so much better! I recently joined an aerial circus class with my daughter and am strong enough to do all the moves pain free! Do Pilates!

do yourself a favor and book a pilates class with state street pilates!! they focus more on classical vs contemporary pilates which is different from other studios in the IE, as you get to work on many various equipment apart from only the reformer. the supportive, welcoming, & fun community is also a plus! you’re definitely going to want to book more classes i promise 😊

I’m a physician who specializes in Rehabilitation Medicine. I was looking for some exercises to strengthen my core and a physical therapist I work with recommended Pilates. I did a google search and found 2 studios in my area. I went to an introductory class at the first studio and it felt a little “ one size fits all”. I also couldn’t make their schedule work for me. Then I went to State Street Pilates and had a session with Megan and one with Alexa. I was really impressed by their knowledge of body mechanics and their insistence on strengthening all the muscles, both flexion and extension. (Whoever heard of side sit ups!) I’ve been doing private sessions with Alexa for a year and I love it. The studio is my “happy place “ to get away from the stress of life for awhile. I’ve had some back and leg issues and Alexa has modified the program to accommodate them. I highly recommend the studio.

This studio is a gem! The space is clean and there’s a variety of Pilates equipment, which I love. What stands out is the instructors. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. They focus heavily on form and always know how to challenge you based on your progression. They’re very knowledgeable and you can tell! 10/10 recommend State Street Pilates!

I had been told by my Physical Therapist that with my tendon issues, Pilates would be the best avenue to pursue getting my life back. It has done just that! I found State Street Pilates and Megan by God’s grace. I came in overweight, out of shape, sedentary and feeling very fatigued after rehabbing both Achilles from surgeries. Megan evaluated me and had a personalized plan specifically for me. She was focused on my form and technique and gave me amazing support through this journey. Two years later and I marvel at my strength, balance, flexibility and core strength. This studio has a bright friendly environment due to Megan and her staff. They are caring compassionate instructors, with some having their own personal journey from injuries too. With their experiences and credentials, they are a joy to work with. I would highly recommend State Street Pilates!

Pilates! Are you serious? was my first response! I am a male 72 years young and was dealing with knee issues. I went to a specialist for an evaluation and the conclusion was “you’re a candidate” for knee replacement. I asked what other options are there? Well, you could try physical therapy and see if that will get some strength back, mobility and ease some of the pain. I chose physical therapy, and after working with a PT for a couple of months I began to see great improvement in strength and stability. I also realized that I was putting stress on my joints because of muscle loss. Bottom line, my knees and joints were working harder than they should have.
After working with the physical therapist, she suggested trying doing Pilates to build core strength and continue building on the progress I had made. But Pilates, you mean that thing my wife does. I always thought that was great for my wife to do, it’s her thing.
Well, starting with a few private sessions with her trainer, Megan, in a just few weeks I began to see some results, learning how my body should work and things I could improve on without surgery.
Megan has been invaluable to my progress. Her professional experience, care and guidance was exactly what I needed. Within a few weeks my appreciation, confidence, and respect grew immensely. The new techniques and routines I was learning made me realize that was the right path for me, and with the right person.
If you’re looking to improve your health and quality of life, I highly recommend you give Pilates a try with Megan and her team. Like they say don’t knock it until you try it. As a guy stepping into this, I didn’t really know why the apprehension, but I am sure glad I took that first step, it’s been life changing for sure! I believe you will learn things that will serve you, serve your quest for better living, for years to come. Better mobility to be able to travel, keep up with the grand-kids, just do life etc.
Lastly, the benefits of doing this together, as a couple, has had other wonderful rewards. When I share with my buddies that I am doing Pilates, their response reminds me of myself, so I know how you feel, I felt the same thing. My advice, don’t allow your apprehensiveness, or what people think, keep you from starting on a journey to living the life you desire to have. Thanks again to Megan at State Street Pilates for opening the doors of possibility and continued personal growth.

Pilates has saved me! I was in an incredible amount if pain on my right side. Wrist, arm, shoulder and neck. I could not move my wrist normally. I tried everything I could think of on the second day of pain I decided a Pilates flow might help and it was worth a shot. IT WAS MAGIC! Thank you Megan for having a focused plan based on individual needs, this lady really knows her stuff! I could feel the tightness release as we moved through the workout. After doing my flow it felt better and after a few hours the pain in my wrist subsided I could not believe it. It is wild how everything is connected in our body and where we feel pain is not always the source of the problem. Thank you Megan and State Street for helping me get out of pain and back to work!

Highly recommend! I came to the studio 4 months postpartum and very grateful that I did. While I’m still in the beginning of my Pilates journey, I have already noticed a reconnection with my centre, improved my posture, and safely strengthened my body. Through detailed instruction by Megan- owner and instructor, I’ve been able to tap into deep core muscles which has helped me to move more freely in my daily life.

I knew Pilates was all about a strong core, and who doesn’t want that? But the motivating factor that got my rear in gear was PLANTAR FASCIITIS. I had been suffering for months. I had the custom shoe inserts. I went to a physical therapist who told me the condition results from weakness in the “posterior power chain.” The balance exercises he gave were a shock to me! I was a runner for two decades and have been a devouted Walker for years. But I could hardly stand on one foot for more than a few seconds. I had no clue my balance was so bad. I have been doing Pilates for about 15 months and I love it! No more pain. My posture is so much better as well as my balance and core strength. I came to State Street from another studio, and the teachers here are amazing. They notice everything and focus on the individual’s needs to optimize their strength
