5 stars hand down. Old School gym clanging and banging weights. The Owner Mark has been training me for 2 yrs. I went from 175 to 206lb. Huge muscle gains. Mark Has been working with my injuries (Motorcycle Accident) to get me back to 100%. I’m in the best shape of my life . His training style is unmatched by anybody in Town. I can confidently say that I’m being trained by a Pro Body Builder & he has his Card to Prove It. Thanks Mark 🙏

A small, quaint gym. Lost among the downtown buildings. Its been years since i came here at 14. It's been here forever and yet still thrives. Marc is a great and caring man who loves health and the ability to share it with others. They have all you will need and doesn't have that regular gym vibe

What a wonderful experience! In town for the day and thought I’d get a lift on. Looked and found Strength and Health. Read the reviews. No matter how great the reviews were it still didn’t do the gym justice. If you want a Westside vibe, blue collar, no holds barred gym for hardcore working out this is the place.

My favorite gym in Bakersfield. Private gyms are the best. You don’t have to worry about keeping your bag in the locker. Never too crowded. Great equipment everything you need. As a competitive body builder I want to be able to work out out with my shirt off and get a pump. Mark the owner understands and is all for it. Mark is a really good dude and we’re lucky to have such a great gym like that in Bakersfield.

It’s my happy place. As soon as you walk in the door, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation or preference, you’re treated like family. There’s only one common goal, self improvement. Started going to this gym with my dad when I was a kid, and I plan on continuing the same traditions with mine here soon. Gym chalk is welcomed there as well!! I love it!!

Came here to train on a heavy bag and lift some weights, but the boxing classes hog up the entire bag area all afternoon and the rude owner wouldnt refund my money when i wanted to cancel my membership.

I have been coming here since 2005 and I honestly love this place. It has everything you need to get the results you want. Everyone is respectful. When I have gone to other more corporate gyms. I have had my belongings stollen from my lockers but here I can leave my things in a cubbyhole they have for your belongings and have the peace of mind that no one will steal from me. No it does not have a sauna, steam room or a jacuzzi. What it does have is great equipment and humble people that provide a positive atmosphere. I couldn't ask for more.
