StudioFlex offers a diverse selection of the East Bay’s most educated and experienced independent Certified Personal Trainers, each with their own unique training style and fitness background. Our CPT’s provide life-changing training by thoroughly assessing every aspect of a client’s overall health and addressing the needs of that person as a whole (beyond just his or her body). We have designed services to meet the needs of each client based on goals, availability and budget. You and your coach will customize a health and fitness plan to address your greatest physiological needs. We are currently offering outdoor sessions as well as virtual sessions.

I can't thank the trainers at Studio Flex enough! Because of my crazy work schedule, I have worked out with four different trainers, and each one has been amazing. I have arthritis and back issues and each trainer makes sure to structure the workout so that I not only have no pain, but I get stronger and feel that I have accomplished something. If you don't like to work out but want to get stronger and more fit, I definitely recommend going to Studio Flex.

I trained here for nine months and appreciated the structure, accountability, and early morning energy. The workouts were consistently challenging and helped me get stronger and more consistent in my routine. Dorian brought his physio expertise, humor and motivation, even at 6:30 am--which is no small feat. I have been seeing Ryan for over a year, and he’s been a staple at keeping me healthy and strong. I came to Studio Flex hating working out… I was never a gym girly, and now I am! I have always been intimated by weight training and having a personal trainer. But all that was changed when I met Kyle and Katie. Since the first meeting, I have undergone transformation not just with my body but also my mind. I feel stronger and more energized. A special shout out to Katie for encouraging me to wake up early for her 6:15am appointment. Even just making to her appointment feels like a personal triumph!

I'm a return customer with a 7-year gap in between. Walking into StudioFlex always feels like coming home. Kyle and Katie have worked hard to make this a welcoming, inclusive, and nonjudgmental space. They both genuinely care about the entirety of how someone is doing - physical/ mental, work/ school, and everyday life in between. My goals and training plan have been tailored to me, and it's allowed to change as we go along. I'm one of those people who used to joke: "If you see me running, there must be a bear chasing me!" I'm not naturally active, and I never thought I say this, but going to the gym can be fun! I enjoy my sessions so much that I don't notice how quickly the hour passes. I leave feeling happy, confident, and strong. I like the exercises with the available equipment - plenty of challenge and variety, given that StudioFlex is a small private gym. I get to track my progress with each exercise, which keeps my motivation up and helps me remember what to do on my own. I trust both Kyle and Katie and they take that seriously. Visited StudioFlex for an assessment with Kyle. So impressed with their facility! I'm not a gym person and find most gym environments a little overwhelming. If I could give more stars I would. I was a client here before the pandemic, and restarted back with Kyle in February 2023. When I walked back in for my first session, it felt like coming back home. Kyle, Katie, Ryan, and Dorian are all AMAZING! So while Kyle is my boo, I would go to any of them if he was unavailable. The small, private studio really allows for personalized attention. I am stronger than ever and through consistent training over the past 14 months have gone from a size 12 to a size 8. I'm so thankful for this crew!

I found StudioFlex via Yelp and was thrilled that I did. I recently checked it out and had an assessment by one of the owners, Kyle Gee. The facility is fantastic - very clean, state of the art equipment and a good variety of it. There is a small parking lot that makes it very convenient and easy. Besides the awesome facility, I have to give a huge shout out to Kyle. His intake and assessment was really thorough - he asked a lot of excellent questions to ensure that he had all the information needed as a trainer, but also to ensure that my needs/goals would be met. Kyle inspired confidence and truly showed he cared about my health journey. You would be in great hands at StudioFlex should you check it out - which you should!

I am so lucky to have found StudioFlex! I currently work with Kyle who knows exactly how to motivate and push me to reach my goals. In just a month I have seen and felt the improves. My work consists of me doing some heavy lifting that has gotten harder to do. Kyle came up with a schedule for me that has made lift my 85-pound instrument easy again. I've been searching for a good place to stay away from back and neck pain due to bad posture. At first, studioFlex caught my attention during the COVID time because they accommodate no more than 2 customers working out at the same time in a spacious facility.
After 3 years, my weekly workout with Katie has been a built in part of my life. Even after moving 20 miles away from the facility, even after exploring a range of alternative workout solutions from home gym to commercial ones, that personalized training routine, and the full body workout is irreplaceable. I have more strength, I sleep better, and also got much more positive energy walking out of the gym every week.
Thank you StudioFlex for bringing the physical results and mental energy to my life. I'm so proud to be part of you!

I found StudioFlex shortly after moving back to SF earlier this year. I had just moved and hadn't been exercising regularly thanks to the big move, holidays, etc., and I was really feeling it...not in a great way.
From the start, Kyle has been great. I reached out and Kyle himself got back to me almost immediately and we set up a consultation for shortly thereafter. He was immediately and very genuinely friendly, and listened intently to where I was with my health/fitness at the time, where I'd been, and where I wanted to go. We set up a plan and I made the commitment.
I see Kyle twice a week and every time, it's great. He's always positive and encouraging, greeting me with a smile every session. He keeps me accountable and pushes me to make more mindful decisions about my health all around. Sessions are planned thoughtfully and when necessary, we pivot, sometimes even on the spot! He shows me proper form, pushes me when he knows I've got more in the tank, and keeps me going! He also keeps me accountable in a firm and kind way. He's got a genuine, positive energy that I've rarely encountered and it is such a treat.
Every time I train with Kyle, I feel great both physically and emotionally. If I could, I'd train with him daily.

I'd give way more stars if I could. I've been seeing Kyle twice a week for several months and I could not be happier. I am strong again, I'm confident again, and I'm on track with all of my goals. My eating is better, as is my sleep and my mood. I'm excited to move my body everyday now, not just on training days with Kyle. I have less nagging pain in my body and much more energy.
Kyle takes his time with me and answers questions about food, recovery, fitness, and anything else that comes up. He is thoughtful and knowledgeable in his recommendations. He helps modify things when my energy is low and helps me push myself when there's gas in the tank. We didn't miss a beat when I was on vacation and were able to do remote sessions. Kyle was able to work with the limited equipment I had on hand.
He helps me stay accountable to myself when it comes to self care across the board, not just with fitness and nutrition, but is never pushy or judgy. Everyone at the gym is kind, genuine, and welcoming. I always look forward to my days at StudioFlex and recommend this gym to anyone who is considering it!

Studio Flex has been a godsend for me. I was at an all-time low (in other words, an all time high weight), and I'd had it with promising myself that I'd exercise. I needed more accountability and so I sought out a personal trainer. I had read some excellent reviews of a local small gym called Studio Flex and decided I would invest some money and time into jump starting my exercise regime. I'm sure glad I did as Studio Flex is the exact type of gym I was looking for. it's very private (usually my trainer and I are the only ones in the gym), so I don't feel self conscious. and the trainers I have worked with are so knowledgeable, encouraging, and sweet, particularly Katie, who is one of the owners. Kyle, also an owner, is super positive and friendly as well. Katie always checks in with me, cares about not just my physical state but my mental state as well, helps answer fitness and nutrition questions, and helps to keep me accountable to my goals. Most of all, she pushes me to do my best even when I'm having a tough or tiring day. I have found myself to be fitting in my clothes better, feeling stronger, and getting less winded when I walk in the four short months I have been coming. I’ve been training at StudioFlex for 4 & 1/2 month now and let me say, this place is awesome!! The space is perfect for the working sessions, boasting a great array of machines and weights. Not to mention both trainers are the type of people who make you feel safe in your workouts, as well as excited to train.
I came in with some pre-existing injuries and Kyle was able to plan a program that not only is mindful of this, but is also still helping me hit my goals for weight loss and strength training. One of the highlights of my week is coming in to train with Kyle.

Katie is super friendly and personable. It was easy to share with her my concerns and fitness goals. She tailored each session to my level of fitness, while still adding some challenges so that I improve each session. I scheduled my sessions after work, and I always looked forward to coming to the session, no matter how tired I was at work.
I also appreciated that Katie was very flexible to reschedule sessions when I could not make them at the regular scheduled time. I have been training with Katie for 2 years now and she's the best! I have a crazy work schedule so my appointment times are always changing week to week, and she works to make sure I get each of my sessions in. Katie has always been super encouraging and works with any back, knee, or other pain I have each session, while still making sure I get a great workout in. I love that's a private gym, making it much less intimidating when starting out, since that was a big hurdle for me when I started my fitness journey. I can't say enough good things about training with Kyle at StudioFlex. My husband and I signed up last August for partner training with Kyle, and we do all our sessions together. To say this is ideal for us would be an understatement! We get one-on-one sessions with Kyle in a private environment, and he customizes our program to our goals, deftly working around any conditions we might have. It's been an incredibly fun thing for us to do together. We find that we're so energized by our sessions, and Kyle is SO fun to be around, that we really look forward to our workouts. For my husband, it's been more motivating than anything he's ever done at home or at a traditional gym. And while I'm able to motivate to work out at home, the results I'm getting from training on top-notch equipment under Kyle's expertise is something I'd never, ever get from digital classes. If you're on the fence, honestly, go for it!

I have a metal knee and tibia implant from bone cancer and Kyle Gee has achieved better results in just one year than my years of physical therapy. Kyle takes the time to understand the unique physiological effects of an individual’s injury or impairment had he designs a workout that is challenging and results oriented. My orthopedic surgeon even wrote a “medical necessity” on my chart so that I could use my health savings account to pay for the sessions tax free! The results are that good.
Kyle puts thought into your workout and keeps it challenging and interesting. Moreover, Kyle is a genuinely great person and is fun to work with.

VIRTUAL training is available here. When the gym first closed I thought I could work out on my own, but I never got into a regular routine. I was hesitant at first, but now that I do Facetime workouts with Katie, I am getting back into the habit and getting just as good a workout at home as I got at the gym. She knows what equipment I have and walks me through a workout as though I was there-with more of a push than I would ever give myself alone. I don't need a mask or to worry about anyone near me. If your gym is closed, or if you are a Studio Flex regular who hasn't been working out, try a Zoom or Facetime virtual workout from the comfort of your own home!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Katie and Kyle are knowledgeable about fitness and also happen to be two of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Their studio is well-maintained, and being there makes you want to push yourself into your highest gear. I would recommend coming here for personal training if you are the type of person who either 1) has trouble getting yourself to work out (I found that having a scheduled time to work out made me less likely to flake) or 2) would like instruction on what exercises to do, proper technique, etc. I love the variety in my workouts. Every day is something different, and that kept things from getting stale. I also love supporting a small, local business over a big chain.

When I was in my 20s, I could skip a couple meals, run a few miles and drop weight like nothing. Now that I'm in my mid-30s, it is A LOT more work. Life stresses took a toll and often wine won over working out to cope. OK, let's be real - wine always won over working out! Well, seven months ago I was the heaviest, most unhealthy version of myself... and I hated it.
It took feeling that bad for me to make the decision to invest in my health and change my habits, and that first step was contacting Katie at Studio Flex. Best decision ever!! Katie has been a HUGE part of my fitness journey and I am so grateful to be able to work with her. I've learned so much and always look forward to my training sessions with her. I appreciate how she always mixes things up to keep the workouts interesting and her nice way of encouraging me to push harder. My workouts with Katie have also helped me build confidence to feel comfortable working out with friends, and I can honestly say I now crave working out instead of dreading it!
As a quick glimpse into the progress I've made with Katie - At my consultation in June 2016, I was 33.2% body fat and in the "obese" category. Yikes! Fast forward to today (Jan 2017) and I am now the healthiest and strongest I've ever been; down 7.9% body fat at 25.3% (only 1% away from the 'fitness' category) and comfortably fitting in all of my clothes again.

Studio Flex is by far the most amazing studio I have ever been to. The gorgeous studio is the perfect setting to achieve your fitness goals! Their equipment is state of the art and the trainers take you step by step on how to use them. Katie and Kyle, the personal trainers are excellent! I was impressed with them on Day 1. They are always professional and approachable. They are always friendly and so motivating during work outs. Both provide a wealth of knowledge and are always willing to come up with answers and solutions to your questions! They help with diet and work out plans. The group work outs were so fun! They were high energy and high calorie burning! Katie's Butt and Abs class was one of my favorite. And the classes are smaller so you can get more personal attention. And all fitness levels are welcome so I always felt comfortable. I know I will be able to reach my fitness goals with these two leading me! I highly recommend signing up today!

I love this gym! I have been working with Katie for a little over a year and during that time I have seen improvement in every muscle area as well as my fitness overall. I was a little worried when I started here that the schedule would be too rigid, the workouts would be more than I could handle, and it wouldn't be worth it. I can assure you though, the level of commitment the trainers at StudioFlex make to their clients is exceptional. I've never had a problem moving or adjusting my scheduled workouts, Katie has been accommodating of any injuries or areas I want to work on or avoid, and the workouts are always focused enough that it doesn't feel like a chore. Katie keeps the energy up and the focus on you, and she has definitely changed the way I look at what personal training should be. The long version: The facilities are excellent. Because it's personal training, and one on one, I've never had to wait to perform an exercise. I've met a couple of the trainers in passing, and they have always been friendly. I train with Katie, who has been fantastic. She's always positive, even when I'm not, and has been a great motivator. She always brings great energy and seems genuinely pleased to see you. Working out with Katie for a half hour, 3 times a week, coupled with a reasonable diet has produced results beyond my expectations. I'm extremely happy I found StudioFlex, and plan on training there for the foreseeable future.

The StudioFlex training club classes are the best exercise classes I have ever participated in. The small group allows Katie and Kyle to give each participant the attention needed to make sure you are using the correct form. They also make each workout unique by combining a different set of cardio and weighted exercises at each class. They accommodate all levels of fitness, and all ages of adults. If you are looking for workouts that burn calories, are varied and fun, you should come try a class. The first class is free.
