Carlos is an excellent teacher and coach whose skill lies not only in his instruction, but in his great patience as well. He will meet you wherever you are at and will help to build you up. I have been training at Summit since July and absolutely love it. My goals were to increase my strength and agility, improve my mental health, and commit to having a fitness be a regular part of my weekly routine for longevity. I started to feel better after just a few weeks of seeing Carlos 2-3 times a week.
I really appreciate his measured and realistic approach to fitness. We work on aspects of fitness I've never considered like grip strength and reaction times - things I need in my daily life, but would never consciously work on myself. Carlos always makes our sessions fun and mixes up the drills while still allowing me to measurably progress on specific exercises. I've gotten noticeably stronger and more resilient over time!

My experience at summit fitness training with Carlos cota has been amazing and fulfilling! Every time I walk out that room i know I’ve gotten 1 step closer to my goals and I see progress as I go. What I love about the 1 on 1 training at summit fitness is how easy it is to understand the details of his systematic training and how I can absorb information without being overwhelmed. I've tried personal trainers before and have often been left unimpressed, but my experience with Carlos has been completely different. For nearly 3 years, I've been working with him for personal training and over the last year or so, we've added in private jiu jitsu lessons, and I couldn't be happier with the results.
As a personal trainer, Carlos is patient and persistent in his commitment to my fitness goals. He takes the time to listen, thoroughly answers all my questions, and ensures that every movement is purposeful. His strength and conditioning sessions are tailored specifically to help me build the foundation I need for my particular lifestyle.
In addition to my personal training, I've also been taking private jiu jitsu lessons with Carlos. I don't compete anymore. And my schedule can be unpredictable, making it hard to attend regular classes. However, Carlos has been incredibly accommodating, working with my availability to keep me engaged and progressing in my jiu jitsu journey. He takes the time to review things that I feel uncertain about and works with my limitations to communicate in ways that I can understand and retain, despite my memory struggles due to a brain injury years ago.
Overall, his personalized approach and dedication to my growth in both fitness and jiu jitsu have truly made a difference. I appreciate all the support he provides.

Summit Fitness has changed my life. Personal training gives you motivation to continue training when you need accountability and guidance. When I first began the first few weeks were hard to stay motivated but My personal trainer Carlos has kept me moving. He is very personal and knowledgeable. He listens and advises each and every time and gives you that push you need. I have seen so many wonderful changes not only in my physical appearance but mentally as well. Carlos has been training my teenage son for a little over 6months and it’s been an awesome experience. I had initially signed him up to for a little extra strength in soccer but it’s helped him out in so many other ways. Carlos has such good patience when it comes to children. My son not only feels comfortable coming but also enjoys the one on one training. We’ve had such a good experience with him, that my husband has also decided to join Carlos one on one trainings. I Totally recommend this awesome guy and all his knowledge he has to offer.

By far the best one on one trainer I've ever had! Professional and knowledgeable, as well as motivational, Carlos is exactly what I was looking for in a personal trainer! I started working out at Summit Fitness in April 2023. Since working out with coach Carlos, my physically and mental health have improved significantly. Carlos has been VERY patient with my fitness journey. Several time I just wanted to quit but his words of encouragement kept me moving forward. I enjoy every session with the one on one workouts and have seen a great improvement on my physical health, strength, as well as stamina. Have been working out here for a few months now with Carlos as my personal trainer and have really seen the growth! He actually makes it a pleasant work out experience as well with changing things up week to week. The one on one training helps me hold myself accountable to show up each week too. I used to pay for a gym membership and never went because I felt like I didn’t know what I was doing and never seen any results. Discovering Carlos and Summit Fitness in Downtown Hanford, CA, has been a true blessing. Since the beginning, Carlos, my Personal Trainer, has been incredibly supportive. I started training with Carlos about 5 months ago, almost 6. I was unsure of what to expect in our first meeting, however, Carlos was able to make me feel welcomed and comfortable in a new environment. Since the beginning of my training, I feel like I have gained a lot more confidence in myself and we are hitting goals. If you want to exceed your fitness goals and achieve things that you never could, GO HERE ASAP :)! I had a serious surgery on my foot last year and thought I’d never be able to workout like I use to, but thanks to Carlos I have exceed my goals in ways I never thought I could. I’ve been training with him since this past fall, and not only have I lost 25 pounds so far, but I can run with ease faster than I ever could, I’ve lifted more weight that I’ve ever done before, and I am the healthiest that I’ve ever been in my entire life! 10/10 100% recommended! Not leaving anytime soon because thanks to training here, I have never been so proud of my self and I have never felt so confident in my entire life and have new goals that I want to and will achieve!!

2nd month review: several important things to mention. Coach Cota consistently pushes me close to my limits which I appreciate for the reasons that it allows me to work threw my sessions without injuries and with plenty of gas in the tank. He has listened to all my concerns and questions which truly helps the process of becoming fit. He is involved with so much scientific knowledge of the body and how it reacts to the types of workouts. the same applies to his knowledge on nutrition. Coach Cota and his business in general have maintained that positive vibe that's needed especially in those moments when I didn't feel like attending. My body has improved in strength causing me to feel better overal. Also I have 2 small children that where with me at the sessions, PT Carlos was very respectful and also involved them. Even if you are used to physical activities, you should give proper training a chance. Sometimes we struggle to meet personal and or career goals without proper direction at training/fitness. Certain career paths are very physically demanding and you may struggle to meet a goal. If that’s the case, this trainer won’t disappoint. For those who cannot meet a trainer in person and may need direction via web, this business works as well, as long as you follow the training schedule and stay consistent. I have only positive feedback regarding Cota’s work and professional ethics. Everything about this business proves to be goal focused and professionalism is its roots.

I have been training with Carlos Cota for many sessions now and I have never felt better!
He created and actively maintains a program for me based on my goals and constantly checks in with me throughout to ensure I am always getting the most effective and efficient workout possible. The program scales in difficulty with many progressions, and each progression is difficult enough to be just within reach but attainable, and set me up for the next progression. Through this, growth is constant and consistent; without causing unecessary soreness the next day. I always feel great right after a session and the whole day through, full of energy!
His guidance has helped me correct my diet and sleep patterns outside training to maximize avaliable output during training; but this has also greatly improved my overall health and well-being in everyday life.
The training sessions are also incredibly engaging with the many different creative and cerebral excersizes he implements to help focus on specific muscle groups and intentions. It is often as much a mind workout as a body workout, and I have experienced a more than tangible increase in strength, coordination, and balance, which was exactly the goal I had set out to accomplish; and it only continues to improve as I stay consistent.
