I can't say enough good things about Sweat60! From day one, the trainers and community they have built made every class feel incredibly welcoming. The energy is great and you can tell they attract a genuinely great crowd of people who support and motivate each other, which I've realized is hard to come by in LA.
The class structure is great, with a nice balance of cardio and strength training. As a former college athlete, I typically prefer training on my own, but I was honestly surprised by how much I loved the group format at Sweat60. The coaches are personable and they know how to challenge you while still keeping it fun!

I’ve been coming to Sweat 60 for semi-private sessions as well as group classes for almost two years now, and I have nothing but great things to say. The classes are a great mix of strength and cardio, and every trainer is super friendly and helpful. The semi-private sessions have also given me confidence at the gym - I never really did any strength training before starting at Sweat 60. Huge shoutout to Kevin, who I train with and who owns the gym. He’s always there to watch my form carefully, and knows when to push me to try a heavier weight or adjust the workout if I need recovery.
The sessions are challenging but motivating—never intimidating. I’ve gained noticeable strength, improved my confidence with lifting, and learned proper technique that’s made a huge difference in my progress.
If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely supportive trainer who knows how to get results safely and effectively, I can’t recommend Kevin enough.

I happily started personal training with Cruz 3 months ago. He is thorough and attentive to my injuries, while pushing me to be a better athlete and hit personal records. We collaborate on my goals, and he's always enthusiastic and has a gift of making training fun (even when I feel ready to give up!). I have been attending semi-private training sessions at SWEAT 60 in Santa Monica for several months and I have only good things to say about it. The trainer I work with (Evan Spry) tailors the workout to aid in my goal of developing increased strength, mobility, and conditioning for Beach Volleyball, at my request. He is consistently flexible around my schedule for when these occur, always brings a great attitude, but still pushes me so that I am progressing physically. Also, the head of the gym (Kevin Atkinson), makes a point to acknowledge all attendees to the gym by name, which I appreciate, instead of just feeling like another customer.

This is a nice workout spot where Evan will help lay out plans that help build strength even if you take advantage of an all inclusive dessert platter.
Definitely recommend trying the gym out. Everyone is friendly and will help build a plan specific to you. The only thing they won't do is pick your parents up from LAX!

Evan is one of the best personal trainers I have ever had. He is nice and personable and knows his stuff. Most importantly I’m 52 and work out with my 22 year old god daughter. He gives each specific instructions and moves yet trains us together so we stay motivated. He recognizes both of our specific injuries - mostly mine! I want to gate keep my trainer, but I highly recommend training with him! I’ve been training with Evan, and he’s been super accommodating towards my hectic schedule and life and the personal training w/ him has provided me with a way to prioritize my workouts. He is super friendly and kind so it is always a fun time! Sweat 60 is hands down the best gym/workout class I’ve been to. All the coaches are so personable, enthusiastic, motivating and encouraging. In the group sessions each coach is attentive to every single person and assists with form when needed. I wasn’t much of a weight lifter prior to Sweat60 and did more cardio focused workouts. I can feel myself get stronger with each session. It has helped me to tone and build lean muscle mass. It’s the first gym I’ve been apart of where I actually look forward to going to class.
Update 8/2024 : I recently personal training with Matt Brumbaugh, who also happened to be my first coach in group classes. He’s not only incredibly knowledgeable but also a professional weightlifting competitor, which definitely shows in his coaching. Matt helps me to maintain perfect form and technique to avoid injury, while keeping things super fun! He's the best—highly recommend him if you're looking for 1:1 training!

Such a good workout! I have driven past this gym one too many times and I am so glad I tried it. The set up is awesome with big green outdoor space and a really nice indoor area with garage doors that can be opened up to let the two spaces connect. I was watching the clouds float by as I got my butt kicked with rounds of shoulder presses. It was an incredible multiple station workout and the trainers were super helpful and knowledgeable. They helped with form and weight suggestions and even added extra resistance (& motivation) to the sled pushes when needed. I left drenched in sweat. Bonus they had an ice bath too! Definitely check them out!

The team is great!
I have been working with Jordan.
I dropped body fat and built muscle.
All my lifts have gone significantly up.
I was never able to deadlift and squat much due to my height.
Working with Jordan and rest of the Sweat 60 team I was able to work through some of those physical and mental barriers to push myself and increase those lifts.
I went from doing 135 lbs deadlift to 375 lbs.

I got introduced to Sweat60 from doing the classpass group fitness classes and started doing personal training with Zak, one of the trainers. I absolutely love both the personal training and group fitness. The instruction focuses strongly on mobility and form and progression of weight increase for lifts. Zak is such a good trainer who listened to my fitness goals and created a great program for me and makes sure I am progressing at a reasonable pace and staying injury free. All the trainers at sweat 60 are knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming to people of all fitness levels.

I’ve never been one to enjoy working out other than soccer practice. However, Sean made every training so fun and exciting. I have learned so many things and have laughed so many times at sweat60. Sean is so patient, lively, and vibrant when it comes to trainings and just having conversations. He pushes me when I feel like I can’t keep going, and I feel so accomplished after every workout with him. Sweat60 is such an amazing environment and has picked the best people to train others. I started training with Sean at Sweat60 about 6 weeks ago and it’s been such a positive and impactful addition to my fitness! I was hesitant to start lifting again after a back injury two years ago, but Sean always makes sure I’m keeping good form and feeling comfortable in every exercise. He put together a program that allowed me to quickly build a solid base while also working toward my goals of running faster half marathons and generally feeling like an athlete again. I always look forward to my sessions with Sean because of his supportive attitude, our interesting conversations, the accomplished feeling of going up in weight or setting a Lincoln Loop PR, and my love-hate relationship with sled pushes, among other reasons. I wish I could make these five stars pulsate and sparkle. I owe much of my well being through the pandemic and beyond to this gym and Matt Brumbaugh. I've been a part of the Sweat 60 community for well over a year, working 1:1 and in semi-privates with Matt because the environment, coaching and vibe in general makes getting in a hard workout a complete joy. Whatever my workout goals are, or temporary needs are, Matt is genuine, attentive, intelligent, and highly knowledgeable and an all around likable person. It's clear Sweat 60 sets a high bar for its trainers and consistently generates a motivating, friendly, fun, challenging place to be active and get strong.

Sweat60 is hands down the best group gym I have ever been a part of. The trainers are all top notch. Sean, who leads several sessions per week, is a ex-professional football player -- and it shows in his training ethic and knowledge. Nothing like learning from a pro.
Everything from the warmup to the finisher feels intentional and effective. They offer both condition and strength days, so you can mix and match to your goals. I don’t know how you could be disappointed here.

I started training with Melissa at Sweat60 about 6 months ago to prep for my wedding and am beyond excited about my results so far...so much so that my fiancé began training at Sweat60 as well! I'd never done private training before this, but working with Melissa exceeded all expectations and quickly became a favorite weekly ritual. I started sweat 60 as a short term thing when gyms were Covid closed. 3.5 years later, I’m still working with Jordan every week! My commitment and consistency is the biggest testament to how much our training has done for my pain, strength, confidence, athleticism, and motivation. I am stronger and have less back pain than I have in my entire adult life. Plus, I have fun and look forward to our workouts every week. This is such a special community! The owner was not pushy and after considering coming in for a trial a couple times, I finally did! He recommended I join a small group that meet twice a week and are lucky enough to work with Jordan! Jordan gently pushes you to find your level and make progress. I can't speak highly enough of Courtney, Kevin, and the Sweat 60 team. I have been doing 1-on-1 sessions with Courtney for almost two years now, and those sessions have infinitely improved my fitness, mood, and overall health. In addition to being incredibly knowledgeable, Courtney is engaging, thoughtful, and fun--a training session with her feels like hanging with a good friend for an hour...but with gains. Most of all, though, Courtney and Kevin are genuinely invested in the success of their clients. They are always responsive, understanding, and willing to go above and beyond to make sure their clients are achieving their goals and then some. If you are looking for a personal trainer, I wholeheartedly recommend finding him or her at Sweat 60--you won't be disappointed!
Edit: Popping back in to say that, all these years later (and even after a location change), I'm still going to Sweat 60 consistently and I still can't recommend it strongly enough. In addition to training regularly with Courtney, I have started doing sessions with Jordan as well. Courtney and Jordan are both extremely dedicated and go above and beyond to accommodate schedules and to make sure they are putting together targeted training plans that work for the varied and specific needs of each client. During sessions, they are both totally present and invested in making sure I get the most of the time. Over the last few months I've also had a few sessions with Kevin and Matt, and all of the above superlatives apply to them as well!

I joined Sweat60 in the winter of 2023 after looking into personal training options on the west side. I had been looking to bolster my running and prevent injury thru strength. Jordan has been amazing to work with and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The team is friendly, motivating and has worked to meet my unique needs. The space/equipment available are great, and the gyms location and group offerings are a bonus. I would recommend Sweat60 to anyone looking for more 1:1 or small group options - focused on form and supporting your specific goals.
