Welcome to Sweat Yoga! Our classes are designed to take you to your physical and mental edge - the infrared-heat, dark room, no mirrors and dynamic music create the perfect ambiance to develop your practice and go inward. Most classes include a free flow format where instructors guide you through a sequence and then let you flow independently to the pace of your body, breath and mind. We see life as an art, the body as the instrument, and yoga as one of the tools we use to fine-tune. If you want to be a better version of yourself, and are willing to put in the work; then come hang. We’d love to see you on the mat soon!

This is my favorite Yoga Studio by far. I have tried many, and the vibe, the teachers, the music, the sound system, the lighting, the fact that there are no mirrors, it all makes this my favorite place to be.

SWEAT YOGA is amazing. The wonderful front desk yoga women and all the teachers -- like Ashley -- so warm and welcoming! AND they don't keep the room so freakin' hot you feel like you'll pass out. I LOVE Sweat Yoga in Santa Monica!

I went to this place tonight. The stench in the place was palpable and I immediately had to take a shower when I got home because of how gross I felt. They need better ventilation bc it smells like a men's locker room. The class itself seemed fine and the staff were nice, but I could definitely do without the horrible odor.

I love sweat yoga. I have been doing yoga for over 10 years and was not very interested in hot yoga. I started going go sweat and fell in love with it. I think the temp of the room is just right and not too much, I love that it is dark in the room (helps you be less distracted and feel more relaxed), and the music is good. I also appreciate that you can do your own thing and don’t feel pressured to follow the teacher. I recently moved and still drive 20-30min just to go to sweat because I have not found a yoga studio I enjoy as much. I feel great when I leave sweat and it has helped improve my overall health and mindset. 🙏🤸🏼♀️❤️ thank you

Been to 50+ studios around the US and the staff at Sweat Yoga SM are among the most helpful and genuine I've seen. Solid operations overall from online booking to in-person greeting. Stellar instruction from senior teacher Yancy Schwartz and others. Been a member 2 years and have to say that despite it's abuse as a hot yoga studio this place is well maintained. 10/10.

This place is amazing, in all the ways, and has really helped keep me motivated on my yoga journey this past year.
In the past, I have never consistently stayed with yoga in part because the experience I had at the studios I frequented was just okay. At Sweat, however, from day one I have loved my experience, super clean, friendly, great music, dark, and no mirrors. My practice here is all about me. Olivia the manager, is the best ever, and I love all of the instructors as well!
I waited a long time to write a review because it's already a popular studio, and I sort of want to keep it to myself, but really they are epic and everyone should know about it.

If this is the evolution of yoga studios in the States, I am worried. I have been practicing yoga for 20 years and teaching for 14. And this is one of the worst studio experiences I have had. Let me quickly list my major complaints. Before I do that, however, let me just acknowledge that Sweat is gym yoga. That’s what I was expecting. So it fails against even that low bar.
- The teachers pay zero attention to students’ bodies. I look around class and at least half the students are not doing the pose properly. This is both physical dangerous and not a pleasant experience for the students.
- The music is consistently terrible. 70s rock. Modern pop. I like to go to class early and meditate but that’s not possible when they’re blasting Steely Dan. It doesn’t have to be “yoga music” per se but at least strike a compromise.
- It is WAY too hot. It was 105º the last few times I went (confirmed by the studio manager). Hot yoga is plenty hot at 95º. Don’t get me wrong: I love hot yoga and have been doing it for most of those 20 years. What’s worse is that their floor is heated. So when you’re overheating there is no escape. Even your water bottle is hot.
- The Sweat sequencing approach is to offer a short sequence and then ask students to repeat it on their own. This is innovative I guess. But I come to classes to turn off my mind and be led. If I want to lead a self-practice I can do that at home.
What happened to authentic, spiritual yoga focused on alignment, sequencing, and anatomical safety, with yogic spirituality woven in? There was a golden age of studio yoga in LA and SF 15 years ago and it has completely vanished. Was it the pandemic? Is it Gen Z? Maybe they don’t care about robust, spiritual yoga with thoughtful sequencing and good alignment. Anyway, I’ve tried just about every studio around LA and have yet to find what used to exist here. Maybe I’ll open a space….

This place is a real gem and has added a new layer of health and happiness to my weekly routine. The instructors are great, you are always greeted with a smile, and they do their best to keep the space clean and inviting. There is a real community vibe to SY and it feels great to be part of it. Also, they do a great job listening to their client's feedback- just recently they took some initiatives to make the peak-hour classes less crowded and it has definitely made things more comfortable!

Been coming here for years but made the jump in the last few months to make it a regular part of my weekly routine.
Studio is HOTTT and I appreciate that the rooms are kept fairly dark so that as we practice we can stay in our own worlds and not get distracted by the bodies around us.
Best part, if I feel like my body wants to do something other than what is being guided in the room I am welcome to pursue that. I don’t have to look like anyone else in the room.
Showers are always stocked with grooming supplies and it’s easy to get in and out of there to get on with my day.
Plus there are frequently cute dogs in the lobby to say hi to.

I absolutely love this place. The classes have all been the right amount of challenge to push you but not too difficult. I love how it’s dark and no mirrors so you don’t feel self conscious if you don’t know a pose or don’t do it well. They do a great job cleaning the studio and even burn some palo santo between classes to freshen up the smell. Really the only negative is that there is only metered parking which you pretty much always have to pay for.

Love this studio. The front desk is always welcoming and helpful. The yoga studio itself does get VERY hot so if you want to be strategic, place your mat towards the back of the room near the door. Or opt for a class at the beginning of the day for better air flow. Classes do fill up so make sure to get to the studio at least 10 minutes before class starts. Jenna is my favorite but I've never taken a class I haven't enjoyed.

Come EARLY, even 15-20 minutes before class, not only to be able to find parking but also to check in (there is a screen by the front desk) and, most importantly- to find and secure a spot for your mat!
All the other reviews pointing out how packed the class is are correct.
Sweat Yoga needs to change that. Especially in a hot room, you want enough space to move your body freely. They maximize profit by squeezing as many people as possible into a hot, sweaty, medium-sized room. I've tried CorePower Yoga (both locations, on 2nd Street and Wilshire), and their classes are much less crowded.
The instructor, Isabel Galler, was excellent; she knew what she was doing and how to keep us motivated and focused. She guided us with her voice soft but firm voice. Are you in good shape? Hot Yoga will humble you really quickly! I had to leave the room for a minute about three times to catch a breath and cool my body a bit.
At the end of the flow, you get a cold, wet, small towel to help your body cool down and recover. I definitely felt rejuvenated after the session.
The women's bathrooms and showers can get crowded. There are lockers in the women's restroom with a lock and code.
The customer service at the front desk could be better. As I walked in, I wasn't greeted in any way.
Street metered parking: If you come to the 6:30 AM class, you will find parking quickly and can put money in the meter at 8 AM so that parking will be free.

Sweat Yoga is my favorite hot yoga studio I've ever been to. It's LA locally owned and operated and the vibes are always good. I love the style of the flows, that there is structure and then time to do your own thing. I have started going to the Chizle classes and those workouts are unreal! I always feel powerful and strong when I finish those classes. Cold lavender towels at the end of class are the cherry on top. Love you sweat!!

I cannot say enough good things about Sweat Yoga. They create a sacred space of anonymity with their dark rooms sans mirrors and incredible teachers. You can feel the love in each class. Sweat is the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to. From the challenging and expressive workouts, to the brick wall and candle-lit ambience, to the small details that make the studio unique like the cold towel at the end of class and being able to bring your dog (you leave them in the lobby and the front desk workers keep an eye on them). I really love all this studio embodies and joined after my trial. I highly recommend trying this place out, you won’t regret it!

I was introduced to Sweat through ClassPass. I loved their classes so much that I was ONLY going to yoga classes there so I switched to a monthly membership and it's the best decision I made. Since then, I've been really consistent with my yoga practice.
The studio is spotless, the staff is friendly. The yoga room is kept dim and there are no mirrors. It's a really relaxing vibe but don't let that fool you, the classes can be challenging! All their teachers are great and although the class format stays the same, they each have their own style and playlists, which I appreciate, because I can pick my class based on what I feel I need for that day.

I have been a member of this hot yoga studio for 1 1/2 years
and consistently taking 4-6 hot yoga classes a week. Last week, I experienced the type of kindness, compassion and empathy from the studio manager, Olivia, that brought me to tears in a personally difficult and dark time. Hot yoga itself has done wonders for my mental health but the community of people that work in this space, particularly at Sweat Yoga, is unmatched and has added to my life is such a positive way. There are good people in this world and I want to thank Sweat for being a part of that positive outlook and hope.
Besides this hot studio being the BEST in LA based on its unique vibe, and having such a wonderful front desk team, the instructors here are not only the best but people that you genuinely feel like are your friends. I want to give a special shout out to Brooke, Dakota, Hallie, Izzy, Jenna, Kevin and Layna for always helping me leave feeling like my best self no matter what I am mentally thinking when I walk into class. Thank you guys!

I have probably been to over 30 yoga studios across different States and Countries and would say that Sweat Yoga would definitely be in my Top 5.
I am lucky to have found this studio while in the LA area the last few months and being bored of the other hot yoga studios I was used to going to. The studio became a very welcome routine for me.
The class formats are great (no mirrors helps to focus inward not outward), the studio is hot (I'm talking temperature here), and EVERY instructor I took a class from had a palpable passion for teaching yoga in their own unique style (which is a rarity in my experience). Already looking forward to going back when I am in West LA again.

Harper's Sunday Candle Light Yin class is where it is at. It is the best way to end the weekend and to get ready to be plugged back in to the Matrix Monday.
She ends her Yin class with a meditation and a sound bath. The cool refreshing lavender scented towels are so yummy after and hour of being drenched in your own sweat, yes please! The only downside is that the class is only 60 mins. How do we get Harper for 90 minute or more, please? I'll start the petition!

I love this place. I've never been into Yoga, but after coming here my opinion has completely changed. I have now added Sweat Yoga into my weekly routine. The place is extremely clean and the instructors are very helpful. Everyone I've met in the class has also been very nice. I highly recommend this yoga studio.

Love the vibe of this place - low lighting, awesome music, good mix of flow and strength building / wind up and wind down. I would be nervous for first time yoga students getting poses correct with little time in these classes for adjustments / visual cues. I like the freedom to be able to flow, however I wish this portion lasted longer. I always end up not balanced because there isn't much notice when the flow is ending before having to get everyone on the same pose again.

I love sweat yoga. I have been doing hot yoga for 20 years and I find it to be the best for realigning my body/mind. As an advanced yoga person, I love the style of the Sweat classes as they play great music and have a bit of free flow which makes you feel, well, "free". This style allows your to get into the muscles and places in your body that need attention on any particular day, and there is no pressure to keep up, so you can have a really physically challenging class, or take it at a slower place if you need. Layna has been my yoga teacher for many years and I followed her here because she is a master of her craft. She plays amazing music and her energy and class flow is always balanced and invigorating. Highly recommended.

I love Sweat! I recently started going to the 6:30am class a few times a week and I’m hooked. I love that you truly get a serious sweat going but it rarely feels too hot. I like the structure of the class as well and that you get to flow at your own pace at times. The teachers are great as well. They’re motivating without being in your face. All around it’s always a great way to start my day!

LOVE Sweat! Always a great workout, excellent instructors, good music. Clean and well equipped. Even with a jam packed class i still don't feel over crowded bc they have spaced markers where to put your mat. This is probably my favorite thing about sweat bc its the #1 thing i hated about every other LA yoga studio- over crowded, face to butt yoga, no thanks.

Sweat Yoga is one of my favorite studios in LA. It is a place I go to unwind and let go of my week. The ambience is relaxing, and I feel completely refreshed after I sweat everything out. I like the style of yoga here, because I feel free to do my own thing. No matter your level, you can flow at your own pace. The only critique I would have is that sometimes the classes can be over-crowded, but other than that, LOVE this studio.

The infared yoga factor, instructors, high ceiling, great music and loft atmosphere are my ideal room. Oh and the health benefits are triple a normal workout.
This is hands down best kept secret. I like to sneak out of my gallery at lunch for the quick 50 minute class in the middle of the days as well. My quick fix to serenity.

I'm so glad I found this studio through ClassPass! I canceled my Classpass membership and started unlimited classes here instead. The classes are a serious workout, and, if you ever need to slow it down, the candlelight yin classes are amazing. Besides just being a workout, the instructors help me focus and meditate, which has helped my mental well-being more than I thought it could. Also, that lavender cold cloth you get towards the end of class is an amazing final touch.

For the last year I've been going to Sweat Yoga each week. In my opinion it's one of the best yoga classes in LA. The rooms are heated so after an hour's class your body feels so stretched, the instructors are all so friendly and the music is always amazing. You also don't feel too much pressure to follow every position, you can freestyle if you have something you want to practice. My body is addicted!

After my 7 years of Barre classes proved worthless when faced with marathon-induced bursitis, I joined Sweat Yoga because it offered a convenient class schedule and a welcome environment for beginners and traditional athletes. A few months in, I upgraded to Platinum to reduce the amount of laundry upkeep, which got me from 2 classes per week to 3/4 classes per week. After about 3 months, my posture and running form have improved and my running pain has completely subsided, which is way better than I expected. Be advised that teachers don't come around to offer corrections, so if you're looking to advance your practice with new positions, it'll be self-guided (and in a dark room).

I love the vibe at Sweat - it's all about getting a good workout and doing something healthy for your body and mind (I find a lot of other yoga studios in SaMo to be quite pretentious).Between the pumping music and structure of the classes, time actually flies by. Only critique is that I get a bit lost during the "free flow" sections and wish there were more cues throughout the class. That said, I'd still highly recommend for anyone looking for a good sweat :)
