One session in working with Jon as a personal trainer and its clear he knows what he’s doing. He asked lots of questions about my fitness goals and physical history, listened carefully, and I’m confidant he is tailoring the regimen around my personal needs. He walked me through some initial exercises, studied my mechanics, and was careful to put my safety first. This is just the personalized attention I was looking for. I’m super excited to build up strength over time and see where this goes.

I had a fantastic experience at this gym. The staff members were all incredibly friendly and approachable. The gym itself was spotless, creating a comfortable environment. The trainers were not only knowledgeable but also very courteous in their approach. As someone who values fitness, I found it to be a top-notch facility. I love Tahoe Mountain Fitness! The instructors and classes are just what I need to build strength and endurance. Holly Hust is the very best fitness instructor. I love Pilates and Holly teaches such a balanced class that flows really well. Good stretching mixed with core and arm and leg strength building. Holly encourages you to push yourself but never judges where you are.

This is hands down the best gym in Tahoe, John and Holly are incredible trainers and will get you in to shape.They offer so many different classes for whatever you're looking for, Pilates, Trip, Karate, Boxing, Grit, Core, Body Pump, Personal Training and more. I have been boxing at Tahoe Mountain Fitness since July of 2020, now sparring with the Trainer, I couldn't be happier and healthy than ever! Thank you TMF!

What an amazing gym to find in Truckee! I stayed up here for a few days, and I was stoked to see they had a drop-in option for guest ... priced at only $10. Guests can also drop in for classes, and all of the class selections look top-notch and diverse - yoga, pilates, strength building, boxing, incredible cycling studio (like nothing I've seen before), a martial arts class I took which kicked my butt. The owner and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. 5 stars all around. Thank you TMF!

I've been a member of gyms and other studios for over twenty years. Tahoe Mountain Fitness offers the highest quality group training I've had, and the results speak for themselves. I'm in the best shape of my life! What worked in my 20s doesn't work now in my 40s, but the guidance I've received from the TMF team has allowed me to push harder and farther without compromising my body. This gives me the strength and energy needed to keep up with my kids! TMF members are also a great draw. I have been working out in various types of gyms most of my life and TMF is hands down my favorite! The owners and staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, the atmosphere is welcoming and the workouts are effective and fun. The gym is always super clean and they are keeping class sizes small to ensure the safety of everyone who comes. My 9yo daughter has been taking karate here for the past year and a half and also really enjoys TMF and their staff. I highly recommend TMF to everyone!

The staff is really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. These guys are great. I have been doing The Trip. I love it!! I'm in my 70'S and it is the greatest workout ever for me. I love the scenery and it's just enough of a challenge for me. I can go at my own pace and push it when I want too. I feel great after. The Yoga classes are great too.

Les Mills' The Trip indoor cycling experience is mindblowing and only available at few select gyms in the US. I love me some Tahoe Mountain Fitness. There is a synergy in the classes that I can't get anywhere else in Truckee. I feel euphoric post work out, every time. Holly is AMAZING! I've never worked out before so when I started our one on one seasons, I was very intimidated. Within moments of working with Holly, I not only felt comfortable but confident in myself. Holly teaches you the techniques, brings you to your breaking point (in a good way) and pushes you through fatigue, she does this all while giving you the tools and the education behind each workout. She doesn't just listen to you verbally but visually when she's planning your next session. Holly's passion shines through her and makes you want to work harder! I have been working with Holly at Tahoe Mountain Fitness for two years now. I am a 48 year old runner and cyclist who has never seriously pursued strength and conditioning training. I had tried out a few trainers in the past that gave plans to be used at the gym, but they lacked the variety and sport specificity that I needed so I never really stuck with it. Holly was recommended to me and I took a chance and gave her a try as a personal one-on-one trainer. I have seen performance and physical results that I had not previously imagined possible for myself! When I see pics of myself in my 20s and 30s, I looked soft, but now maintain muscle tone that is readily apparent, all year around.
As a personal trainer Holly has a vast knowledge of strength and conditioning training, and an extensive exercise library for all experience levels. Holly is professional, conscientious, easy to understand and carefully listens to my training needs or concerns. She customizes every single workout based on my specific needs. She works around my niggles, and at the same time targets muscle strengthening for future injury prevention. Holly’s work ethic is totally inspirational, and rubs off towards achieving my own goals. During these difficult times, training has been the one constant that has provided more physical and mental return on my time investment that anything else. If you are unable to get down to her studio, she also works online by zoom! Five stars for Holly and Tahoe Mountain Fitness!

TMF offers the best fitness program in a safe, clean and sanitary environment for all levels especially during these challenging times with Covid-19. No class is impacted because of the distance requirements and all equipment is handled and cleaned by the instructors after each use from all students. If I can’t get outside to get my cardio, I know I can get it from the variety of spin classes they offer. I build my strength with body pump and pilates classes on the reformer. Yoga is also offered to stretch and strengthen those muscles. The instructors are professional and always encouraging. I highly recommend taking advantage of the great fitness experience TMF has to offer.

No where else in town can you get such a variety of work out options. They have group classes, private lessons, Trip, pilates, body combat, yoga, weight training... This was one of the best workout experiences I ever had! I visited my family in Lake Tahoe (I'm from Atlanta, GA) for a couple weeks and found Tahoe Mountain Fitness. They were so kind, welcoming, and accommodating while I was here! I did the Body Pump classes (these will kick your butt), the cycling classes, and the HIIT classes. All of them were high energy, fun, and challenging! The only bummer about this experience is that I feel like there was a great community with these classes that I won't be able to experience more. If I lived here, I would definitely want to be a part of this Gym. I HIGHLY recommend giving Tahoe Mountain Fitness a try.

Great gym that really has it all (for my needs). LOVE the fact that Pilates group reformer classes are included in the monthly membership along with the other group and cycling classes. I had a hip injury & this gym got me back on track with lots of low-impact options, and plenty of higher-intensity classes I could grow into. They host some fun events to try out their classes too, with free juices and mini massages! I also think the bathroom with showers is a great added bonus that a lot of other local gyms and studios don't offer.

TMF has the best group fitness classes in the Truckee and Tahoe area! All of the instructors are incredibly motivating. You can walk in to a class feeling like blah and walk out feeling like a million bucks. If you are used to big city gyms that actually bank off of members not working out, this will be a whole new experience. It's more of a family, and they care and encourage you to make it to class if they haven't seen you in a while. It's a bit more pricy compared to your basic gym, but I consider it an investment in my health. There's also childcare by request 5 days a week.
What I love most about TMF other than the instructors are the choreographed-to-music classes (Les Mills). There's just something energizing about having music mean something in a workout. Be advised, once you experience the power of group fitness at TMF, you may never want to work out alone again!

My husband and I signed up for three months at TMF the week we arrived from New Zealand. We were attracted to this particular gym as they run the Les Mills training programme. We are members of Les Mills in Auckland. Their fitness classes are the best in the world. During our time at TMF we have enjoyed all the instructors and all of the classes. We would highly recommend TMF to anyone serious about getting or remaining fit while visiting or staying in Truckee. Congratulations to John and Holly. You guys are the best ! This place is fantastic. I love every class including yoga and Pilates, and the staff are pros. Often master trainers stop by to train and give class. Great place to be! My favorite classes are sh'bam, muscle pump, and spirit cycle. A variety of Pilates equipment and mat classes are held regularly. Gym is great for all levels, from beginning to professional.

Tahoe Mountain Fitness is fabulous! Having moved to Truckee a year ago and (finally!) working on getting back into shape after having had twins, I was looking for a studio that had it all in terms of group classes, and TMF does not disappoint! Body Pump, Body Combat, barre, mommy and me, kickboxing, etc. My new favorite - Sh'Bam. The instructors are great and highly motivating. Definitely check out TMF if you're looking for a great atmosphere and wonderful class schedule.

My daughter and husband take karate from Sensei Jon and he is awesome!!!! I truly believe that this program is the best thing in the entire Truckee area for kids and adults. His program teaches discipline, provides the ability to gain strength and confidence and conquer anything that the world throws at you. Sensei is so patient, vigilant, attentive, conscientious, responsible and has an absolute true gift at teaching. He is amazing and I would strongly encourage any family to join the ninja crew and see the positive changes right before your eyes.
