My daughter just started going here and she loves it. She has down syndrome and the teacher is awesome with her and the other kids that have special needs. She is kind, patient, and doesn't patronize them. I would definitely recommend this place

My 4 yr old has been doing dance here and we love it. There’s a great variety of class times & they do lots of performances (which are my daughter’s favorite part) I personally love that they also have the adaptive program to help make dance accessible to everyone! Reasonably priced & you can do makeups at any class which helps when you’ve got lots of schedules to manage!

As a child, I always dreamed of learning to dance, but my family couldn’t afford it. When I became a mom, I made a promise to myself that if my daughters wanted to dance, I would find a way to make it happen. Fast forward to November 2020—after retiring, I finally had the time and freedom to pursue my own dancing dreams, and that’s when I found Tap Fever Studio in Pacific Beach.
From the moment I walked through the door, I knew I was in the right place. Tap Fever has been more than just a dance studio for me; it's become a community, a place where I’ve not only learned to dance but also found a sense of belonging. The tap classes are a blast, and I absolutely love the cardio tap and stretching classes as well. It’s not just about learning technique, but having fun while doing it.
One of the most rewarding parts of being with Tap Fever has been the opportunity to perform. I’ve danced at local events, parades, and numerous recitals, which has been such a fulfilling experience. Every performance reminds me of how far I’ve come and the incredible support I’ve received from the Tap Fever family.
Their motto, “If given the chance, anyone can dance,” resonates with me on a deep level. It's not just a catchy phrase; it's a philosophy that truly shapes everything they do. Tap Fever Studio offers that chance—no matter your age, background, or experience level—and that is something incredibly special. I’m so grateful for this opportunity to dance and for the amazing people I've met along the way.
If you’ve ever dreamed of learning to dance, I wholeheartedly recommend Tap Fever. It’s a place where anyone can take the leap, whether you’re starting later in life or have danced since you were young. It’s never too late to follow your passion!

I first took a cardio tap class at Tap Fever in Feb 2023 and was immediately hooked! Since then I have been going to as many classes as I can! It has completely changed my life for the better. I came for the workout but ended up finding SO much more than that- a welcoming community, supportive teachers, lifelong friends, and my passion for dance has been re-ignited.
Larisa plans so many fun events to showcase our hard work. There is something for everyone! “Vaudeville Fever” cabaret shows, three recitals each year, holiday parades, performances on stage at Disneyland, Fringe Festival/ Taptastic shows, community events, and so much more.
There is never any pressure to participate in the recitals. However😉, if we end up in a class together I might try to pressure you into it because a lot of people end up discovering how much fun it is to perform on stage! 🤩🤩
All of the teachers have their unique styles and their classes are all so much fun. I always leave feeling inspired and energized!
The unlimited package is a great option if you want to try a variety of tap and other styles of dance classes. I take ballet, tap (technique, broadway, and cardio tap), and sometimes drop in for jazz. $600 for a 16-week session and I took about 150 classes- what a deal! They also allow people to pay for one class at a time, or packages of 4+ classes to use throughout the session. Also you can rent tap shoes for just $3! I did that for my first class and then immediately went home and ordered a pair of my own since I could feel in my bones that this was going to become a big part of my life again (after taking 20 years off from dance).
I could go on about how much I love Tap Fever. Being part of this community has truly changed my life and I am so thankful to Larisa, Diane, Chantal, Chelsea, Andrea, and Britt for keeping the classes fun, challenging, and inspiring! You can tell you all pour your hearts and souls into teaching dance! I highly recommend Tap Fever to anyone of any age and any abilities! Teachers are all more than willing to work with you and offer modifications that you might find helpful. No worries if you have never put tap shoes before. My dad came to a cardio tap class and it was his first time wearing tap shoes. He did a great job and was smiling the whole time! The routines are easy to follow and over time it is cool watching yourself improve and be able to do steps you couldn’t do before.
Thank you Larisa and all the staff at Tap Fever!!!💃❤️❤️❤️

Tap Fever Studios is how dance companies should be! Learning to dance in a positive and encouraging studio where everyone is encouraged and accepted and all students support and learn from each other and their kind and supportive teachers!!! They offer beautiful opportunities for all to have a chance to dance and are so inclusive to wonderful people, young and old and with special needs as well!!! What a beautiful and amazing philosophy that “anyone can dance if given the chance!” They even have a class for people who are in wheelchairs! They have dance parties too!!! Larisa Hall has truly envisioned a kind and peaceful place where everyone is welcome and encouraged! Miss Andrea is an amazing teacher who makes learning amazing choreography so much fun and manageable!! Thank you Tap Fever!!!

UPDATE: Uhhh, this is 100% a real review, by your response, your place probably still sucks.
......
ORIGINAL REVIEW: My daughter LOVED to dance before Tap Fever!
Her mother and I can both move... so rythm is in her blood.
We even have a disco ball for dance parties at home:)
Here is what I experienced at this small studio.
The owner: cold, seemingly fake smile kinda irritated her desk in in the lobby forcing her to interact with people... acts like there's something better for her to do than you/me.
I get it though... she's busy and her job is rent and keep the doors open... whatever... I care about the product/results...my daughters happiness... you do you! Im just being honest with how this woman came off to me.
Unfortunately, as a result of her persona, the parents (moms) that I met were the same way...and their daughters as well.
This is an example of the environment nurtured.
The owners personality was magnified in these dance moms.
There was definitely a ring leader to the "click" here...like the movie portrayal of the typical head-cheerleader in highschool (a total B and a bully... you know, where other girls followed her cuz they were afraid she would turn on them?!) That, is this parents waiting area.
It was never a comfortable situation waiting in the parent's waiting area if you weren't part of the "blonde mom crew".ha. Such a joke.
But really, who cares, i'm there for my daughter.
The only problem...the girls were clicky and acted like their moms.
I didn't find out until after i asked her if she wanted to sign up for dance again!
"No thank you daddy"
Why girl?
"The girls just weren't very nice to me."
My daughter gets straight As, plays violin and piano, receives roll model awards MONTHLY at school and is friends with EVERYONE!
Parents and kids alike all say hi to her every chance they get! She gives off so much happiness and positive energy, you can't imagine!
The culture here st Tap Fever, by the owner, the mothers, the girls...is like a bad Netflix documentary...unfriendly and it killed my girls spirit in a way i've never seen :(
This has everything to do with the environment you nurture as a business owner!
Here's the other frustrating parts about how this studio is run: finding shoes Tap Fever stated were required, NEARLY impossible. Tap and hip hop shoes that fit properly are a nightmare...as i have heard from other parents. Their dance supply referral has nothing in stock. I can't express how many online returns i had to make and trips to La Mesa to the dance store. So much time i don't have and money wasted...but WORTH IT...cuz my baby girl LOVES to dance! Or should i say "loved".
My daughter is tall, very lean and strong. Easily a prima ballerina. She loved ballet and her mother and i tall former athletes...
I would play Vivaldi or her Suzuki violin cd and my girl would dance and spin around the house like she already knew ballet...
When a favorite pop song came on, she would spaz out with this made up lightning fast tap dancing routine i had hoped she would continue well into puberty (an easy boy deterrent.haha)
Since Tap Fever, and their culture, she's stopped dancing.
I literally hate this place.
Is it cuz im the only guy?
Is it cuz my daughters got brown skin?
We've been involved in music, dance, sports, chess, martial arts programs etc...we have never been disregarded or been made to feel so unwelcomed. We have amazing relationships with all her instructors.
I would give negative stars if I could... i'm sickened my the culture bred here in these kids hip hop and tap classes.
You'd rant like this too if someone stole your little girls love of dance.

We love This dance studio, an all who help with the autism tree dancers. They offer many different classes and all age ranges. Fundraiser recitals, so some programs can be funded free for dancers.

I've participated in many dance studios and Tap Fever is definitely the best. Individual attention during classes is the norm. The instructors are skilled in teaching how to memorize dance pieces. Level-appropriate basics are covered well in classes, and then augmented by challenge pieces, for fun. The instructors are all warm, friendly, and energetic.
The studio has ample air flow from 3 sides along with several fans to enhance the flow for times when there are pandemic concerns. I used to have to wear knee braces all the time at a previous dance studio. I found I could stop after dancing for some time at Tap Fever. I'm pretty sure it's the floor flexibility that has made the difference for me. The studio is aesthetically lovely too.

My daughter has been taking classes from Tap Fever (Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet) for almost a year and a half. Because of the wonderful instructors my daughter has fallen in love with Dance - THANK YOU! In that time my daughter has performed at recitals, competitions, senior homes and special events.
At only her second competition she took First Place with a wonderful performance choreographed my Mariah (Instructor) and placed in her last three competitions.
She has made great friends and the girls are so close you would think they are sisters.
As a DANCE DAD I though I might feel awkward with all those Dance Moms here. But, that was not the story. Now, many of those Dance Moms are friends with both my wife and I.
Thank you to all the staff at Tap Fever. You bring a smile from ear to ear on my daughters face.

I love love LOVE this studio! So big and spacious, and everyone there is so friendly! The owner is kind and helpful to everyone, JJ is so funny and easy going- I love taking his class, and Mariah is so skilled and lighthearted, the kids adore her!
This is an amazing studio. They even offer a free week at the beginning of each session so you can try every class they offer and see which one(s) you want to take! I never thought I would be tap dancing, but the cardio tap class is a great workout and really fun! I'm also taking ballet with Mariah, and hip hop with JJ, and my son takes classes there too.
I am so glad I found it!

I have been dancing with Tap Fever Studios for a month, and have only good things to say about them! I love that they offer classes in all dance styles: tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip-hop AND fitness classes (cardio tap and dancer flow yoga). They are also all-inclusive, offering classes for everybody from 2 year olds, to seniors, to people with disabilities. The teachers at Tap Fever are very passionate about dancing, and just want to share that with everybody, regardless of age or ability. Speaking of the teachers, they are all fun, kind, and work hard to make the classes upbeat and engaging. I am taking the Adult Intermediate Tap class, and Larisa (the teacher and studio director) is very encouraging and pushes us to challenge ourselves in a fun and safe environment. Another class I have been taking that I love is the Cardio Tap class. These are offered multiple times per week, in both the daytime and evening, which is so great for those of us with busy schedules. If you are looking for a fun way to get some exercise, this is the class for you. It is structured like a Zumba class, with the teacher leading you through set dances to upbeat music. Though these classes definitely make me sweat, they are always filled with smiles, laughter, and a lot of great jamming out. Overall, Tap Fever is a well-run, supportive studio, and I would encourage anybody (regardless of previous dance experience) to take classes here.
