Over the years, I’ve trained with different coaches, but none compare to the energy and dedication of Coach Diggy Brown. She leads the 5:00 AM, 6:15 AM, and 7:30 AM classes with unmatched enthusiasm, showing up every single day without fail—never sidelined by sickness or any other reason. Her commitment to her craft and to us, her clients, is truly inspiring.

The early morning crew at the 5:00 AM and 6:15 AM classes brings supreme focus to every session, creating a contagious drive that pushes everyone to give their all. It’s more than just a workout; it’s a community that genuinely cares about mental health and personal growth. The 12 is the BEST and Tori is THE BEST!!! She is such a light and joy to see. She is also phenomenal at cueing and demoing the exercises. Love her music, love her energy - best of the best. Been going to the 4 PM class for years and it is something I look forward to every day I sign up. The class style is now more strength based and less HIIT which I love. You can go really hard or modify and lighten it up - whatever you need. The class space is very spacious so even when classes are full it never feels like you're working out on top of other people which I greatly appreciate.

Great gym, great staff!! Someone tell the short white haired anxious judgmental guy running around the gym giving people dirty looks for using weights and counting your towels to lighten up. Cleaning up is part of owning a gym lil homie, who hurt you. Other than that uptight guy, and the way he treats customers and staff, 10 out of 10. Oh… please shorten the appointment times for cold plunges so we can get more appointments in. Nobody needs more than 20 min in a cold plunge.

I can’t say enough good things about this gym without being repetitive! Trainers are amazing, I actually think the front desk people are happy to be there, clean bathrooms with showers and complementary hygiene products, up to 6 trainer lead classes a week for 209 a month is a steal! I’m a personal trainer at 1,335 a month for 5 days a week and you can wash you but at home! Haha But everyone knows it’s the people that make a place feel like home and the people at this gym are those types! Come see!

I love this gym so much! I hadn’t worked out consistently for over two years before finding the 12. The atmosphere and community here are unmatched. All the trainers are wonderful. I have been attending “The 12”for five years now the first 2 1/2 years were in Huntington Beach. Due to Covid, the Huntington Beach gym Unfortunately got closed. I was devastated so we’re so many others. I loved it so much that I decided to make the drive 30 min each way from home to Costa Mesa to follow Brooke Downs. Brooke Is truly a one-of-a-kind. She exudes so much vibrant, positive, energy! She is always making you laugh, motivating and encouraging you! She truly cares about every single person that walks into her class and makes you feel comfortable. She opens her heart and has the ability to connect with every single person giving them a safe haven to come to every day. No matter what you’re facing she will be there to help guide and lead you to a better you!!!! If you have not tried the 12 in Costa Mesa wait no longer, go check out Brooke’s class at 9am or all the other amazing instructors at another time that suits your schedule. I can’t say enough about The 12. What I will say is that this place changed my life. From struggling to get to the gym solo to getting excited to sign up every morning knowing that I am going to see some amazing people who are gonna push me and support me for the ENTIRE workout.
All under the leadership of the best trainer, Brooke Downs. Not only is she beyond funny and perfect at getting a group hyped, she understands the “why” of a workout and movement verses just telling us what to do. She is very educated not only in the gym but when it comes to nutrition and supplements and has helped me so much when applying to my own journey. She cares about what we can take away from each workout and is always looking out for our form and educates those who need to modify an exercise when necessary.
Brooke is always on. No matter what her or your day looks like she finds a way to bring all the energy and bring you out of any funk you’re in and make you laugh or dance. She is inclusive to all members new and old and you can see her dedication and passion for what she does and you know it’s not just a “job” to her.

The classes at the 12 are challenging with a new set of functional movement exercises every day. I attend the Monday through Thursday classes and have seen great improvement in my physical and mental wellbeing, I feel great. My goal was to get my strength to a level that would allow me to surf armature surfing competitions at a high level…..I want to win. The classes have exceeded my expectations and the results have been noticed by my peers. But most importantly my wife has really noticed and she can’t keep her hands off of me. I’d also like to mention that the staff are very friendly. My trainer Dana is outstanding. She keeps me motivated and will let me know if my form is wrong. They care about your form and technique 💪🏼 more than other group training gyms (which helps prevent injuries) and keeps you progressing toward your goals.

Jared is awesome! Getting up and getting it done is easy at the 12. In and out before 6 am leaves plenty of time to get the kids ready for school and leaves my day free for everything else. Jared is up beat, super knowledgeable and basically makes waking up early to exercise not suck. If getting in early doesn’t happen, the other trainers are also excellent. I’ve taken classes with Brooke, Katie, Dana and Tyler and none of them disappoint. All can answer your questions regarding training, recovery, modifications, etc. In addition, the facilities are always clean, maintained, and towels are provided (which is a nice perk).

I previously was a member at the Huntington Beach location but began to travel a bunch for work in 2019 so ultimately canceled my membership. I go to their classes every morning and Jared is absolutely amazing! Extremely clean facility and love the amenities they make available to their members (girls have hair ties, female items, spray deodorant etc). I do not work out in the gym but the equipment that they have for the weight training area is definitely on the higher end so if you are into weightlifting it’s a great place and it doesn’t seem typically crowded during peak hours even. All the trainers classes I have taken are phenomenal and I love that I can book my classes conveniently in the app. Highly recommend

I communicated with the client services to cancel my membership. They attached a form for me to cancel and I must not have seen it. Over a month later my card was charged for the membership and when I reached out to see what happened with my cancellation, them they informed me of their policy and that is was in my court to follow up so my account wasn't canceled.

I was so shocked that the response was so corporate. The gym has been so friendly and whenever there was a miss charge the front desk ladies were so great about helping me.

I asked for an exception because the reason I canceled over a month ago was because I couldn't afford to go anymore.

After asking for an exception. I got this response "We don't issue refunds."

Then I was told that "I can’t be disappointed when the communication thread didn’t continue." I have never been told how I should or shouldn't feel from a client services member, it could have been the owner but they never used a name.

Great gym just PLEASE read the FINE PRINT.

I understand I didn't follow their steps and sincerely wished I was assisted more and had a more positive interaction with their admins.

My husband's been a long time member here and was gifted a free month to invite a friend this past Christmas. Lucky me was the recipient and I couldn't be happier. Everyone was so welcoming. The HIIT classes are challenging and every day is different so I never get bored. The trainers show us proper form for each of the day's exercises and will show us how to modify if needed. The trainers are eager to answer any questions regarding health and nutrition. The equipment is sanitized after each station, in between each class, and then a deep clean is done each evening. I started going to The 12 because my boyfriend attended classes there. When he described the classes to me, they seemed intimidating because I was new to working out and didn’t have much confidence. If you are new to working out DO NOT LET THAT STOP YOU!!! Before class starts the trainers will go through each exercise and explain how to do them properly. It also helps that you are in groups of 2-5 people so you can just copy what they are doing! ALL of the trainers are awesome and really push you like it is a 1 on 1 session. The only advice I would give someone who is new to The 12 is show up early and pick an exercise to start on. I always thought you had to ask to be in someone’s group but you really are just picking the first exercise you want to do lol. I love going to class because everyone that goes is very welcoming and friendly. I highly suggest trying a few classes!

Love this gym!! The trainers, the staff, the workout and the facilities are all amazing! Also the music is on point! That is huge for me! Music really gets me through my workout and they nail it! If you want a clean gym with friendly faces and a family feel this is the one of you! I struggled to find a workout that I loved after the gyms closed down. Then I found the 12 and couldn’t be happier! Highly recommend!

I have never been able to find a place as fun and supportive as the 12 for strength training. All of the trainers have amazing personalities that keep you focused and motivated. If you’re new to strength training this is the place to be!

The best gym/group training place I've ever been to! Not only are the people in classes so nice and welcoming but the trainer go over and beyond to make sure you hit your fitness goals, proper form and also push u to strive! Front desk staff are amazing and helpful as well! The facility is super clean and they also have people sanitizing everywhere!

If it wasn’t for Dana and Brooke I wouldn’t bother writing a review, but the deserve recognition for their kindness. They are two amazing trainers with great spirit and customer experience. True gems who are extremely knowledgeable.
I was recommended by a friend and given the reviews I gave the gym the benefit of the doubt.
However the membership customer service and Covid approach could use help.
I don’t normally write post but disappointed in the lack of effort.
My husband and myself signed up together, his first class he’s wasn’t impressed with the service and didn’t feel comfortable to go back.
Their membership team didn’t make effort to obtain us member or even see why we no longer went. We truly felt used for a quick dollar.
As far as for Covid it didn’t seem like there was real effort to ensure social distancing, classes are to crowded!
