The Bar Method Brentwood is a boutique fitness studio offering barre classes for students of all levels. The signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and a few props to create a transformative workout that results in long, lean sculpted muscles. Absolutely love The Bar Method! I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now, and it’s easily the most effective and enjoyable workout I’ve found. The classes are super well-structured and challenging in the best way β€” I always leave feeling stronger, more energized, and a little sore (in all the right places!). I've been a member of The Bar Method for 8+ years, and I truly can't say enough good things about it.
The instructors are all fantastic-knowledgeable, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your progress. I've been to a number of different barre studios and what really sets this studio apart is how much they emphasize proper form. My wife took me to a class on her birthday and I'm so glad she did! It's a very low impact, but extremely effective work out. I wanted to strengthen the muscles around my knees and hips as well as my back. I've signed up now and continue to go at least 3 to 5 times a week. I'm usually the only man taking the class, but I feel welcome and it truly is a fantastic work out. I highly recommend the bar method to other guys and of course women too. It's really making me stronger so quickly. Thank you bar method.

I love Bar Method and especially this studio. The teachers are friendly, knowledgeable and on point!
. On the whole the routine is strenuous but the benefits are invaluable. Based on the principles of physical therapy, the exercises are safe and help core muscle groups establish strength and flexibility. Another awesome side effect is after 90 to 120 days and attending classes 3 to 4 times week, you will have a fit, toned body in which you will be able to slip into a bunch of cute clothes!! I am 58 years old and rely on it to keep my mobility as supple and active as it was in my twenties and thirties!

Not only are the classes still difficult, yet fun, but they are incredibly knowledgeable and pay close attention to form. I’m a licensed Massage Therapist here in Brentwood, CA with over 15 years of experience. My work makes me extremely conscious of what is proper for strengthening muscles while simultaneously avoiding injury. (I treat clients all the time who have been injured while trying other classes.) The Bar Method is the best one hour time one can spend on oneself, IMO. I call it my 1 hour "physical therapy" with great energy from a classroom setting. I've been going to class for a year and it has helped me feel strong and fit as I recently turned the big "Five-O". My left shoulder impingement has disappeared and my knee twinges from running are gone. I believe this form of strenghtening exercise is best for me as I am aging.

I started Bar Method over a year ago with a chum from work. We decided to buy a month’s worth of classes thru Gilt City. We had scoured other bar type classes, such as Pop Physique, Pure Barre and Cardio Barre and thought this would be the same type of routine, probably with a couple of different tweaks. I was honestly surprised to see how much more challenging and attention to detail Bar Method paid in class compared to the other bar type studios I had attended. At the time, Class Pass was not around so when we paid for classes at the other barre type studios, it was not just for three classes a month, rather it was for a month at a time or more so the comparison to Bar Method was not generic. From my first class in Bar Method to my most recent class this week, I am still challenged. Though I have memorized the routine pattern, the complexity of the moves on my body has not plateaued. I enjoy the standard bar classes and when I feel brave to challenge myself more, I love taking the cardio-pumping bar move. My first teacher, Kim Hoy, was awesome in grounding me to learn technique properly and she still teaches some of the most challenging classes. I LOVE Amberlee’s bubbly personality and fo’real attitude – she makes bar fun and funny and INTENSE. I personally request less reps and NO MORE ZINGERS. Brittany Thomas when I first started was learning to become a bar instructor and I have to say she probably learned from the best because she is a strong teacher with a killer workout. I remember after one class a fellow student asking me if we just took regular bar or level 2. Sufficient to say, her class was AWESOME because we had just finished regular bar. I believe all the instructors at the Bar Method are serious about teaching and improving their students and as regulars themselves, you can see that they take their discipline seriously. Personally, I try to take 3-4 classes a week to see a real difference and I think the monthly renewal rate is a good deal if you stick to it. I am one who believes sometimes it takes seeing something to believe it and if you were to take one Bar Method class, I believe it is recognizable – be it the way how the teachers look good and teach well or how sore you feel afterwards. A year later, I remain a Bar Method regular, I still get a great workout, I still feel challenged, and my legs still shake. Bar Method was also the first workout EVER where I learned to do a full body push-up. WOOT.

From the kind and helpful folks at the front desk, to the extremely skilled teachers, to the no attitude vibe of the other class members, the experience was a delight and top notch all the way. I love this studio! I have been going to Bar Method for four years and I recommend it to all of my friends and coworkers. The instructors are so friendly and professional. And the workout is so effective. I lost 7 pounds after my first month of doing the unlimited monthly membership. Everybody is so nice! Emily is the BEST instructor. She's motivating, funny, and pushy in the best way. I always feel like she's watching everybody's form and is quick to give corrections in a constructive way. I really enjoy classes here! The parking can be kind of a pain, but it's more a function of the shopping center. I do really like that it's close to brunch places on Sundays, though!

I highly recommend Bar Method. Some of the reasons why....I like that I don't have to move around a lot, that I get a good workout without having to be high energy (I don't do Bar Move). I like how firm my butt has become. I like that the teachers are so incredibly nice and remember my name. I like that people love the Bar Method, which makes it such a positive environment. I like that the front desk people are so nice and accommodating. I love that there is great music. I love that the place is always clean and safe.
