The Bar Method Long Beach is a boutique fitness studio offering barre classes for students of all levels. The signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and a few props to create a transformative workout that results in long, lean sculpted muscles. Not only does it reshape your entire body, but it allows you to channel your inner strength and leave class feeling strong, confident and poised. Highly-trained instructors customize the exercises to ensure they are safe and effective for any age and every body, including modifications for pregnant women and students with injuries. Our staff and community are here to support you from the moment you walk through the door.

The Bar Method provides a well rounded full body workout without requiring too much exertion. My personal favorite class styles are cardio and strength. I’ve been a member for two years, and believe in the workout styles. My favorite teachers are: Stephanie (strength) Megan and Monica(cardio) and Robyn is the most well rounded for the express classes.
I give the studio two stars because the environment at this location isn’t as friendly as it used to be. I used to look forward to going to class and talking to instructors and classmates. Now I go in to work out, say a few pleasantries, and leave. I pay for bar method for the community it built over the years, now, it has unfortunately become like any other studio: clock in to work, and then leave. If you’re okay with that, then the studio is for you.

I began attending Barre classes in Long Beach in 2023 at the suggestion of my daughters. They raved about the classes, and after just my first one, I could see why. I now have 70+ classes under my belt. Each and every class is masterfully managed by a highly trained, encouraging instructor. In addition, my fellow members are kind and supportive. The motivation I feel whenever I walk through the front door keeps me coming back.

I moved to Cypress in 2022 and I started going to Bar Method LB. This is by far the best workout studio I’ve ever been to, the atmosphere is exhilarating and fun, the instructors are constantly challenging us with new moves while stressing correct posture. The classes can get big but that does not prevent the instructors from recognizing when someone is doing the wrong move. Don’t get me wrong, correcting isn’t all they do. These are talented individuals who care about the people who attend their classes and make sure no one gets hurt while doing bar method moves, cardio and strength training, bar flow and bar restore. I love going to the classes! I transferred from another Bar Method studio because of proximity and I never regretted moving to Bar Method LB. They are now my family and I’m never going anywhere else!

One of the top qualities of the Bar Method Long Beach is the welcoming environment and supportive community. From when you enter the studio, to all the way through class and afterwards, I love how every single person is cared for, encouraged, and uplifted. I’ve recently competed my 600th class after reading my ACL and breaking my kneecap. Every part of this studio, exercise, and community helps me stay motivated and engaged and happy. There is TRULY no better place to be than here.

I absolutely love this studio. I'm a ClassPasser and have had many experiences with studios treating CP's like less than or just generally not very welcoming. This is not the case here. The staff is incredibly kind and I always end up chatting with others taking the class. Instructors are all so great. Really couldn't recommend this location enough. I'd consider getting a full membership but unfortunately, my job requires me to travel often so I need the location flexibility of ClassPass. Go to this studio! You will leave feeling amazing!

The Bar Method Long Beach is one of my favorite places and like a second home to me! The Bar Method workout is a challenging and self-fulfilling workout that has strengthened my body and mind. It’s so great knowing that every time I show up to class, I am going to be coached and supported by the most caring instructors, who have now become my coworkers/family. As a retired long-distance runner, I know that this low-impact workout is best for my body. It is one in which I can avoid injuries, and honestly say is the most difficult form of exercise I’ve ever done! I never imagined I would stop going to bar, but the pandemic happened and shook up the world. I finally went back last month and I wonder what took me so long! Long Beach Bar Method is even better. There are new and more challenging classes, new talented and inspiring instructors, and I am still challenged by the workout. And, after years of isolation I have an even deeper appreciation of the community at this location. Everyone is welcoming and supportive which enhances the experience. So glad to be back!
I consider myself to be thin and in good shape (5'6", 115) - I was a dancer and I work out everyday and do both cardio and strength training. I have been unmotivated by my workouts so thought I would try the bar method especially since they have a great deal of unlimited classes for $100 for new members. I am so impressed. I have taken 3 classes and already see and feel a difference in my body. I am sore all over - but in a good way so that I know I am challenging my muscles in ways I obviously was not previously. The physical change that I am most surprised by is how lean my thighs look and how firm my tush is - after only 3 classes! Even better, there is no impact. I have many injuries from dance (back, knees, feet) and dont feel stress on them when I do the workout. The absolute best part is the staff. They are so friendly and welcoming - and always knows my name. The instructors are wonderful. In class, they are so motivating and their instructions regarding what each muscle in my body should be doing makes me more aware of those muscles and pushes me beyond what I think I can do. And their focus is helping the students, giving us guidance and coming around to fix our posture or positioning. They are not doing the class for their workout but walk you through it to intensify yours. The studio is clean, they provide water, showers, free lockers and towels. This review may seem too positive but I am a real client not an employee =).
***It is now years later and I love it even more. I don't get bored I class even after so many years. I am still challenged by the classes. The staff are friendly, the instructors are inspiring, the other clients are friendly. I look forward to going every time. I am so glad I found this workout at this location. Update to my review about 3 years ago: I am still a die hard Bar Method fan, taking 6+ classes per week. So much so I decided to go for it and become a certified instructor. The process to learn to teach Bar was so much more involved than I imagined. 4 and a half months (and that was accelerated) to learn intentional structure, physical safety guidelines, anatomy, muscle function and the spirit of Bar - really solidified how much Bar Method cares about its clients and their well being - physically and emotionally. I was worried becoming a teacher would turn something I love into a ‘job’. But it honestly was the best thing I ever did. I love the Long Beach studio - both staff and clients. Every face in the studio (both familiar and brand new) brings me joy. Come and join our family! Regardless of your ability, age, body shape or confidence level, you will be welcomed with open arms and guided to be your best self!

Since writing a review 4 years ago I have kicked my workouts up from 2-3 times per week to 5-6 times per week. My strength and endurance has increased tenfold! Yes, I attend for the beautifully toned body it has given me but I attend more for the mental health benefits. Not only do I get an endorphin high at the end of class but I’m surrounded by a caring and supportive community of teachers, staff and fellow Bar addicts. it’s harder than it looks, give it a try!!

I’ve been an avid workout AVOIDER until I found bar method. I love every workout each day, but I love the community more importantly. I’ve visited a few of the franchise locations, and nothing beats the positive community I’ve found here. I went from never working out ever, to working out at least five days a week because I genuinely love being there. The workouts are equally amazing. UPDATE 2024:
Another BINGO challenge year in and BMLB is still my favorite workout community. Milestone 1200 classes was a breeze with Express classes keeping thing exciting, as well as Cardio, Flow, Restore, and Strength for variety. This year was extra special with a few fellow classmates becoming instructors. Extra pushups? Ok!
2023:
If you aren't into traditional gyms, running, and basically any traditional sport, but were a dancer in your youth, Bar Method is for you! BMLB is the absolute best. The studio, vibe, community, location, motivating challenges, celebrations, and gains will keep you tethered for life.

I started The Bar Method a little over 8 years ago now with the goal (at the time) of getting in (lean) shape before my wedding that was in early 2016 & I think it's safe to say that I have stayed OBSESSED with the kick-your-butt classes, the polished studio, the friendly Bar community...everything! Since my start in late 2015, I have gone through three pregnancies with Bar and it is/was the BEST body prep for labor/delivery AND postpartum. Bar guided me through my changing body over those years (and continues to do so!) and I am grateful that the community and workout has been there for me. Our BARtenders :) are always thinking of new studio-wide challenges for us members to bear down & PUSH ourselves. The various challenge opportunities to get yourself involved and to class are available & plentiful. I highly recommend this type of workout for anyone who is looking to change up their routine, or even add to it. You will become hooked & your body will not regret it!

I have been doing bar for over two years @ LB Bar Method. Attending has helped to increase my flexibility, strength and endurance. Not much has changed in the 5 years since my last review. I still can't say enough good things about Bar Method Long Beach! I’ve gained strength, and flexibility and am in the best shape of my life. I’ve also rehabbed several injuries by consistently going to bar because almost all of the stretches and exercises are the same ones my drs. have given me for physical therapy. It’s the best overall workout for mind and body wellness in my opinion and I’ll be a bar method customer for life!

This is 4 years later (minus 2 because I only took zoom live classes 2020-22 til recently, which was so helpful by the way!), and the classes still make me feel like a better version of myself every time. The instructors are very knowledgeable, giving you personal attention without making you feel inferior. This is the only workout I do, yet I’ve never felt a lack of strength in other occasional strenuous activities nor was I ever limping the day after …and did I mention, 0 injuries for the past 4 years?

Bar Method is the best workout that I've found if you want to have that lean, feminine (but strong) body. The small isometric exercises not only give you overall strength but help stabilize your joints and your core. The Instructors are highly-trained and have extensive knowledge of anatomy and specific muscle groups. They not only guide you so you can have the correct form and get the full benefits of the workout, they also encourage you by compliments! It has truly changed my overall health and well-being! Locally. They offer free towels, coffee and filtered water. I really appreciate that bc other studios charge for those items. Excellent customer service. I had an issue with a package of classes I bought and the owner helped me resolve it. One hour and a complete workout- that gives results!

Even after all these years, I still can't get over how wonderful The Bar Method is. I have visited other locations, but Long Beach Bar Method is my usual studio and I love it so much. The positive energy and genuine smiles are undeniable. All the instructors truly care about encouraging and challenging their clients. It's no wonder that I never stopped coming since I started in 2015. I love the owner Jo, as well as all the other instructors: Tereza, Allison, Katelyn, Angela, Danni, Stacie, Mason, Aprilyn and Geanna!

I am a huge fan of Bar Method Long Beach. The workout is killer and super effective, but the studio itself is the real treasure. It is a very welcoming, positive, and happy environment. The amenities are great - ample free parking, towel service, filtered water, a spa-like locker room. Highly recommend.

The class is so fun. You can make it as Intense as you like yet there are stretches throughout. I’m always sore in places that get no use in my body from other activities. I also cherish the culture of the studio- so welcoming and feminine.

Bar Method Long Beach is my favorite place to start my week, get extra energy. They offer a beautiful, clean studio with a lovely community of clients. All the instructors are well trained and they offer a variety of classes to get an awesome workout. I have been doing the Barre routine for over 3 years and I am still learning new things every class. The instructors keep you motivated as well as ensuring that you are keeping yourself safe during the workout. I was able to continue working out all throughout my pregnancy and Bar Method has helped get my body back in shape. They offer great perks like coffee & tea, water and showers to freshen up afterward. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and challenging workout.

Best workout ever. Lengthens, strengthens, and tones. The instructors are trained to help you with positioning and set ups in exercises. Based on physical therapy so you are not injuring yourself while working out. The owner Jo is the sweetest person ever. All of the staff are super nice and very helpful.

I was hooked or barred at first class!! It’s been a year of self discovery and victory despite major personal hurdles. This is an amazing group of compassionate women that cheer you on and motivate you to your personal best. For one hour you bond with other amazing people (there are males that visit and are welcome too). The workouts are challenging enough to push you no matter how long you attend. The routines are fresh and challenging for all levels.
The instructors take the time to get to know your strengths and weaknesses and help you to achieve your goals.
Treat yourself to an hour a day and your mind and body will thank you!!

I like that you are 5 minutes away from my home. I like the schedule. I like the workout (the small precise movements that coincide with the music). I like incredibly professional, knowledgeable friendly instructors. I like that the room is air conditioned, clean and upbeat. I like the other students and I like that the time flies by. But most of all I like the results I've achieved by working out there.

Highly recommend this place - I was thoroughly impressed by the amenities, friendly staff, and cleanliness of the whole studio! They have a locker room with keys and showers fully stocked with towels. I also like how the flooring of the actual studio is carpet, because you won't worry about slipping! The classes are challenging. The instructors/staff are very supportive and kind.

I love BMLB! The front desk and instructors are amazing, helpful, and attentive. The classes start on time and all the instructors (and front desk) make an effort to know the student names, which is a nice touch.
If you're new to Bar Method, be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early to prep and get to know the space. Be sure to bring a pair of socks and have fun!

BMLB is simply amazing. The studio is super friendly and welcoming. First clients receives lavender epsom salt goodie to help relax muscles and loosen stiff joints after an intense workout. Don't be alarm! Instructors are highly precise in techniques and barre instructions are crystal clear. If you want a perky bum, you'll definitely walk away with one after this workout!

I took the Bar Method one-hour class for a month and could see the difference in my body. The bar exercises target specific groups of muscles which are reshaped and strengthened. These exercises are perfect for those who want to sculpt their body. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, and the one-hour class passes by fast. After class, there is camaraderie among the club members and the staff. In addition to showers and all bath amenities, the studio offers towels, tea and coffee. It was an enjoyable month and money well spent.
