About the Club

The Bar Method is a boutique fitness studio offering barre classes for students of all levels. The signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and a few props to create a transformative workout that results in long, lean sculpted muscles. Not only does it reshape your entire body, but it allows you to channel your inner strength and leave class feeling strong, confident and poised. Highly-trained instructors customize the exercises to ensure they are safe and effective for any age and every body, including modifications for pregnant women and students with injuries. Our staff and community are here to support you from the moment you walk through the door.

I tried the 8-class intro and 2 free sessions – all the instructors were amazing! Every class was different and easy to follow, even for non-native speakers. The studio is clean, bright, and welcoming. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the U.S. — wish we had Bar Method in Vienna! 🙏 😀 THANKS!!!

I had a great experience here! I did the intro week and took 3-5 different class types with multiple of the instructors. All of them were great, they provide clear instructions and adjustments. The class is challenging but doable. It’s super clean and I would definitely go back!

I remember ballet as having structure and etiquette, this place no such luck! I took 10 classes here for almost 4 weeks and here is what I experienced.
The classes are ok but usually packed and because the back of the room appears to have been left unfinished; just a bar along a white scuffed wall and you’re cut off from the class. Working out over there feels like you’ve been sent to the corner for punishment. I try to avoid that area.
I like to get to class early enough to grab a spot at the bar, put my towel/water down, stretch and settle in. I am over 50 and stuff hurts! So I use the bar to assist me with the standard exercises I can’t do anymore.
Today I was at the bar working out, all was great until it was time to bring our weights back to the bin. The class was packed; I waited for everyone to put their weights away first. That’s how I roll. When I went back to the bar someone had taken my place at the bar. I looked around the packed room and said nicely to the women "I'm sorry but that was my spot".

Ok don't ever do that!! Because the owner, Jenna will swoop down so fast your head will spin and she will space shame you through her microphone with one of these- "We don't have saved places here" and while you stand there humiliated looking for a place to belong… she will bop off chanting..."one inch up, one inch down"... not offering a solution to make your experience acceptable. Then she will send you an email about NOT reserving or saving spots in class...Was that what I was doing? I thought I was just trying to work out.

I grew up in Santa Barbara, my dance teacher Carla Mosley always made us feel invited and there was always room for everyone. So naturally I took my things and left....and I don't think I will go back.

Love the Bar Method Classes ! They have really made me feel stronger and feel better! I have been taking it for almost 3 months and I have lost weight and inches already! All the instructors are very well trained and very nice!
It's a beautiful new studio located downtown with parking next door for convenience. Try a class you will be hooked!

Absolutely love this studio! The 45 minute express workout is everything you need to get in and get working! Vibes are on point (ballet pun intended) with the music and the pace of the workout… it’s as hard as you want to make it with great modifier options. Also, parking couldn’t be easier — which is a huge bonus for Santa Barbara. I can’t recommend this studio enough — I’m in love 🥰

The new Bar Method studio in Santa Barbara is beautiful, clean and well located. There is ample parking in the lot next door. I was beyond excited to to learn that Jenna was opening her own studio in SB after having taken many of her classes when she used to teach at the Bar Method in Studio City. She is a great instructor who is motivating and focuses on form to ensure a safe and super effective workout. I took Kara's class for the first time yesterday and also thought it was great. I highly recommend SB Bar Method.

I really LOVE this studio! The people are so very nice and supportive of my efforts to improve my fitness. I am one of the absolutely least fit people in class (and no skinny minny, either). They all couldn't be nicer to me - both the staff and the other class participants. I feel so welcome and everyone really encourages me. And, after just 3 weeks, I feel like I'm really making progress. I can't say enough good things about this place! Try it, you'll love it!

I’ve tried other bar type classes, this one is by far the best. The studio is bright and super clean, the owner and her staff teach terrific classes, always concerned about proper alignment and safety while providing a killer workout. They are super friendly and always encouraging. Love the variety (although I could do without the “pretzel”, lol). They offer lots of different times and you can’t beat the ease of parking at La Cumbre Plaza. I’m hooked!

I love Bar Method! The staff is friendly and they really know their stuff. They make sure that my positions and alignment are correct so I don't worry that the I might hurt myself. They offer several types of classes that fit my needs and I always feel like I'm getting a great workout. I've been going for several months and have really noticed a difference in my strength, flexibility and body shape. The workout room, locker room and shower facilities are spotless!

I'm an older runner who has slowed down quite a bit in the last few years and was considering giving up running. I started the Bar Method a few months ago and have gained flexibility and strength and have noticed an improvement in my running. The teachers are all wonderful and incredibly kind and helpful, they make sure your form is good and give you encouragement but also push you to get out of your comfort zone. I should have joined years ago and can only imagine what my running would have been like if I had.

I have been going to The Bar Method SB for almost a year now and can’t say enough good things about what it has done for my body and my general outlook when it comes to fitness. Not only is it a positive and encouraging atmosphere, but all of the instructors are diligent about making sure you perform each exercise using the correct form. Compared to other barre studios, The Bar Method SB really stands out—it’s not insanely fast paced, which means I can concentrate on doing things correctly and not injuring myself while at the same time really pushing my body! Loving how my body, which has been developing aches and pains over time, is responding to the Bar workouts. My knee and hip pain is gone as I've developed muscle all around those joints, and my flexibility is increasing, along with my level of energy as I go through a busy day. Wasn't sure I would enjoy the classes because I am normally used to a really fast pace workout but now I feel like I am addicted. The environment is incredibly welcoming and goes above and beyond to work with you to make sure you are getting the most benefits out of your workout. All the teachers are very proactive about preventing injury and adjusting your form. I've been so happy with the changes I have already started to see in my body!

I truly look forward to my workouts! I've been attending regularly for almost a year now, and my strength, flexibility, and posture have all improved immensely! The teachers are always so encouraging and really push you to try your hardest. I have been a member of the Bar Method in Santa Barbara for over 6 months, and it’s changed my life. Within the first month, I felt stronger than I had in years. In every class you take, every one of your muscle is deeply worked. The results are instant if you take classes 3 days a week!! I had a spinal fusion, so I need to be cautious when I work out. The staff is always taking every measure for me to stay safe! The classes are small, and you never feel like your “just another member” The classes are very challenging, but the staff make it fun, and the time in class flies by! I would highly recommend The Bar Method to anyone who wants to be empowered, gain crazy core strength, and have fun!

What’s not to love about The Bar Method! First, the place is stunning! I feel like a million bucks just walking in the door, not to mention the smiles that greet you. Secondly, The workouts are awesome! I like that I get an absolutely amazing workout and can still go run errands afterwards because I’m not a sweaty mess. I am not a very athletic person or really even someone that likes to workout out but I appreciate that the teachers are there to make sure you have good form and to help with any adjustments you may need for your own body. Anyone can do it. Plus the classes/teachers are fun with great music. Third, the have childcare, enough said! And Lastly, there is always parking!

I adore this place, owner Kendall, her amazing teachers, and fabulous front desk ladies! I'm always greeted by name and a warm smile that make me feel at home. The facilities and locker room are chic, spotless and serene. The classes have reshaped and strengthened my body without pain or joint stress. The knee, foot and neck problems I came in with a year ago have completely resolved and I am now so flexible that I can do the splits at 50 - yes! The variety of classes and exercises within the classes offer options for continuous challenge and improvement of your fitness level. The music selections change so you're never bored. Fellow attendees are friendly and supportive, creating a nurturing, non-competitive yet encouraging atmosphere. I highly recommend the Bar Method to anyone looking for a non-impact, full-body workout and stretch.

I love the bar method! I started coming 1-2 days a week but the classes are so fun and I feel amazing after each one! Now I’ve been trying to go 4-5 days a week. I LOVE The Bar Method!!! I have been going to the barre method for over 2 years on a off, due to an injury. I would have been going consistently for 2 years if I had not broke my arm. If you have an injury or are recovering from one, Kendall and the rest of the instructors are amazing at making sure you are comfortable and they give you modifications. With their help I was able to regain strength in my arm. Each week I find myself growing stronger and stronger. I am not a fan of running or super intense cardio so this is perfect for me. The studio is so pretty and clean and again the staff is all around amazing! I have met so many people through barre. It has been nothing but an awesome experience! Love! Love! Love!
