I used ClassPass in the past to bounce around from studio to studio, never really finding a "home." About 2.5 years ago, I saw a few people recommend The Body Process in a local FB group and I took advantage of their new student unlimited class special to try out the studio. Almost immediately, I knew this place was special. The students and instructors are all really encouraging and supportive. Since that first week, I've been going on a weekly basis and Pilates has grown into an obsession.
Classes:
There is a good range of classes across different times to choose from. I mostly go to Build as it's an all-level class and the instructors provide cues to either modify an exercise to make it more accessible OR progressions to make it more challenging.
Instructors:
All of them are so kind and encouraging! When I first started, I required so many modifications. If the instructors haven't all been so knowledgeable and understanding, I probably would have quit already. Learning how to use my breath along with movement has been a game changer!
Some specific instructor shoutouts:
Danielle - Out of all the instructors here, Danielle sticks closest to a "classical" repertoire. Her classes are challenging because of how she cues and how she gets you to move your body. Aside from the hundreds, there's not a lot of holds or pulses, but somehow, you are sweating buckets. While your abs, lats, and muscles you didn't know existed may be sore, you leave each class feeling better in your body, like the bones are in the right place and all the muscles are functioning as they should be. Danielle's energy is also very calming and focused, and she's always there to quietly support you if you need it. The first time I managed to push out into a plank, I surprised myself so much I fell out of it and giggled. I looked up and Danielle was there smiling like "yea, you did it! You can do it again!"
Alejandra - I didn't know how to use my pelvic floor to engage my lower abs until Alejandra's class. I also learned that I was hypermobile from Alejandra and learned various ways to support my body until I built enough strength. Her Jump classes are very core intense, but in the best way!
Michelle (Ballon) - Michelle only teaches special classes once a month now as she moved to San Diego some time ago. Her approach to Pilates comes very a very nourishing place with a heavy emphasis on breathwork and really good form. I learned from Michelle's classes that it's not that serious--we can laugh!! Her references to TLC, Gilmore Girls, and other 90s/2000s pop culture makes her cues very easy for me to remember. Her Unwind classes are a must-go! I've since bought the balls used in Unwind classes to roll out my muscles on my own at home, but it's not the same.
Jules and Robyn - Both are somewhat "newer" instructors to The Body Process. They were both trained by Danielle and you can tell by their attention to detail and the way they guide your body. I love how they're both coming into their own as instructors and developing their styles/voices.
Grace - Grace's Build/Amplify classes lean a little bit more Lagree method and can be a little intense. Once she had the perfect cue that motivated me to really balance--during a lunge series, she said to imagine that foot bar like that guy who is always there, popping up in your text every 3-4 months. You don't need it, but it's there if you want. I took my hands off of that foot bar with quickness! Grace's Expand class is also such an experience. It's not a traditional restorative class. While there is some stretching involved, the breathwork aspect offers such a deep healing internally.
Allie - Also a newer instructor to The Body Process, Allie has a fantastic approach to teaching. Her eyes pick up on tiny details that makes huge differences. I didn't realize that my parallel is not true parallel, but in fact, it's a bit turned out! Her classes are such a treat and I try not to schedule afternoon work calls so I could catch them!
I'm out of room but the instructors I didn't mention are all fantastic, too!

I recently visited this studio while in town. I was able to easily obtain a 1 week pass and had a great time in 5 classes over 3 days. All of the instructors were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. I'll be back next time I'm in LA.

The Body Process is the MOST INCLUSIVE, the most adorable and beautiful space to practice pilates. The instructors are knowledgeable! I have been practicing what I thought was pilates for years, but boy was I wrong! Shoutout to Danielle P and Megan! This is woman-owned and I love the studio. I like a mix of taking privates and classes. I'm a loyal fan, forever!

I've been taking private sessions here since January and all of the instructors I've worked with (Danielle, Dayanara, Michelle) are wonderful. The one thing they have in common is their ability to meet me where I'm at without any judgement. Magen, the owner, is always kind and goes above and beyond to accommodate my schedule changes whenever possible. Privates happen at their new location off Centinela where parking is easy and the studio itself feels fresh, clean and intimate. I look forward to checking out the group classes at the studio on Culver soon!

So happy I found The Body Process. I have a dance background with many years of practicing Pilates behind me. I've been on the search for a studio that's not Lagree with a focus on safe and correct movement technique.
The owner Magen and her staff are extremely knowledgeable and very experienced. I've taken from at least 4 instructors so far, and they are all top notch. This is the real deal when it comes to Pilates.
The variety they offer is great too! From Build classes focused on building on top of different skills, Amplify to level up your practice, Jump which incorporates a jump board attached to the end of your machine, Restorative classes, and Private sessions, this place has it all.
I found them through ClassPass which only allowed me to take from a few class offerings but once I signed up as a unlimited member, so many more were offered to me. I highly recommend supporting this small business with a membership but understand not everyone has the financial means to do so. My point is that it's worth it.
The studio is beautiful and clean, and they take very specific safety precautions for Covid which I appreciate very much. All class attendees are required to have a proof of vaccination on file and masks are 100% adhered to.
Parking can be found behind the building or on the street - both for free. Or you can grab a metered spot on the street as well. Come a little bit early just in case.
I'm such a big fan of this studio and couldn't be more grateful to have found my studio!

Longue vie à the Body process. 👍👍👍

Highly recommend the Body Process! First off, the people are GREAT. I am a physical person – I run, cycle, lift weights, but I had never done pilates. Magen made me feel so comfortable and easily guided me through everything. Not only was it a great workout, but she also talked me through how to improve my running and cycling. The studio is also so nice and welcoming. I have left every time feeling calm and happy, and with my body singing. Can't wait for group classes!

Pilates was an exercise I always viewed as out of my comfort zone. Although I am a highly active individual I never thought my body was capable to withstand the challenges pilates brings on, until I met Magen and The Body Process. Pilates quickly came my new found passion. Thanks to The Body Process my body has been challenged in new ways and I absolutely love the way this exercise has transformed by body this far. The Body Process welcomed and embraced new comers like me. I recommend this studio to anyone who is wanting to try pilates.

I just went to The Body Process for the first time as a new client using the new client special - and LOVED the experience. I was nervous because I had never done Pilates before (who wouldn't be nervous?), but the owner Magen immediately made me super comfortable.
The team was helpful and worked with me to find a time that fit into my crazy work schedule, and everyone was really warm and welcoming. If you're considering trying pilates... definitely check them out! Even if you're on the fence... I can't recommend it enough.
I'll be going back!
