I’ve enrolled in the Cave’s Parent & Me toddler classes for both of my daughters over the past few years, each time hopeful for a fun and engaging experience. Unfortunately, both times left me disappointed. The instructor sat in the corner during every session and provided no instruction or meaningful interaction, beyond setting up an obstacle course at the beginning of class.

There was a noticeable lack of energy, engagement, or guidance, which made the class feel underwhelming and not worth the cost. I do see how the programs for older children seem more structured and enjoyable, but at the toddler level, this class didn’t meet expectations.

I really hope the program finds an instructor who’s passionate about working with toddlers and can bring some energy, creativity, and FUN into these sessions. With the right leader, this class has the potential to be a wonderful experience for both kids and parents!

We have been coming for about 3 months. Sean is great and engaging as a main teacher. However, often times it is just play based and the teachers arnt bringing the necessary energy to help the little ones build skill. It seems like this place is fine for an hour of your child moving around a bit but not really learning anything or increasing skill level. I would highly recommend getting instructors who have energy and want to be teaching the kids different moves rather than just walking
around and monitoring primarily

My daughter has been attending cave classes for 2 years now, and recently had her 5th birthday party there as well. I highly recommend both! The staff is courteous to the parents, makes the experience fun for the kids, and seems to have a great grasp on varying energy levels and personalities.

As a mom or 2 and a 3rd due in the next few weeks, I was so relieved to be able to be hands off during the recent party and everyone had a GREAT time.

For the second time, I have attended several sessions of adult gymnastics classes while in town visiting family. I cannot say enough how much I love The Cave. Coaches Roger, Sean, and Russ are all extremely knowledgeable and professional. They give everyone the opportunity to work on whatever skills they want, spotting and looking out for the safety of all. They give enough time to strength, stretching, and basic skills, which is not always the case in adult classes. I wish I was in town more often so I could come to the adult classes at The Cave! Thank you, Coaches!

We have been going to the cave for YEARS. In recent months we have really missed coach Russ since he was an integral part of much of our prior experience. This year my daughter was thrilled to make the Xcel team and to compete for the first time this winter. However because of a single unfortunate incident of conflict, my daughter was kicked off the team. She is devastated and misses her “team family”. It’s too late in the season to join a team elsewhere so this means she won’t be able to compete this season and maybe at all period at this point given her age and the challenge of being able to start over elsewhere. My daughter is completely heartbroken about this and so am I knowing the pain she is going through. I don’t understand putting this outcome on a child who did nothing wrong. I offered to put any parameters in writing to allow her to continue for the season with a commitment to move facilities after the season but this request was denied. We also supported this business during the pandemic having arranged a pod with private lessons and never had any other prior issues before being cancelled.

This place is so fun! I have kids in both gymnastics and parkour and they just love it. I’ve also noticed their gross motor skills are really getting good.

Strength and Conditioning classes are amazing for all ages and skill levels… there are kids, teens and adults classes at The Cave. The coaching is approachable and extremely helpful, the gym is positive and friendly, inclusive. If you are thinking about starting a new adventure, or if you are looking for a skilled gym that can give solid coaching, come try out The Cave.

For your efforts you’ll join a community of positive people working hard and supporting each other, and coaches who genuinely care about their members. It’s a fun environment to concentrate fully on yourself for an hour, or for kids and teens to find a group of like-minded peers that are choosing strength and fitness and wellbeing.

Hope to see you there!

The cave is the best! Beginner or experienced the coaches are amazing at challenging you and helping you safely meet your potential. Coach Cosmo is a very motivating CrossFit coach with an eye for those little details that make a big difference in improving your movements.

The team at The Cave is awesome! My 10 year old daughter has been doing private lessons with Olivia and she is thriving. Olivia is challenging her and helping her to achieve her goals and improve overall. Our daughter loves to attend weekly. In fact, we recently added a 2nd day and are waitlisted for a 3rd day!

We recently moved to Marin and started gymnastic for my 5 year old daughter. After her first class she asked to go back everyday! Since then we have increased to gymnastics twice a week and my 9 year old does parkour 2 times a week also! needless to say we are huge fans! My daughter especially adores coach Caitlyn!

My daughter is on a gymnastics team and has been taking private gymnastics lessons with Emily for a couple of months now and in just that short amount of time, her performance at competitions has improved dramatically! She has so much fun at her sessions with Emily too and looks forward to them every week!

Fantastic Coaches, I've been to 60+ CrossFit gyms, many in California but 30+ Internationally, I've seen lots of CF and their coaching is the best I've come across. In each their own way they - Check in with each member before the workout to tailor it to themselves (Injuries, soreness, etc) no "RX pressure," they watch and advise each person in the class, always friendly not just during class but before and after (Even if they are not coaching that day), mostly they genuinely care and I see that every time I come in. As a bonus they coach and offer their knowledge to those who want to do more. On top of it the warm ups aren't lazy, they actually warm you up, & they coincide with the workout/movement pattern for the day and I've seen some stuff that I've never done before.

The adult gymnastic classes are included as well and the handful that I have done have been so fun, they made me feel like a kid again, but I also was quickly improving on my handstand walking and learning new gymnastic skills.

They have Parkour as well, but I have not tried it yet, but it looks equally has fun.

After 2 years I moved out of state but can't wait to drop into a class when I am back.

Thanks!

Have been going here for several years for adult gymnastics and recommend it highly! Coaches Roger and Russ are both extremely knowledgeable and experienced at working with all skill levels, and the class is one of the few that really guides adults through skill development rather than just being an open gym for former competitive gymnasts. On top of that, the gym has a very positive atmosphere--everyone is encouraged to get better and challenge themselves, no one is made to feel bad about where they're starting from or pushed to do anything unsafe, coaches pay attention to every individual and how to help them. If you have always wanted to learn gymnastics, or want to relearn skills you had before, this is a great place to go.

The Cave brings tremendous joy to my two daughters lives. The Cave care about their gymnasts, takes their time to get to know them & makes recommendations on how to progress at an individual level. Coach Russell gets 5*****, he brings expertise knowledge, and laughter while still focusing on the strength & progress of gymnastics. You can tell he has a passion for what he does & he is very good at teaching the children the core elements of gymnastics in a safe & loving way. I can't recommend him enough!

Our daughter has been taking weekly semi-private gymnastics lessons from Russ Bruel for a couple of years, and it continues to be the highlight of her week! Russ is an experienced, knowledgeable and fun teacher—he’s amazing! She has gained strength, skill and confidence in her gymnastics ability, and has learned to do so many new things, including back flips on the mat and floor—safely and with proper technique. We highly recommend The Cave, and Russ Bruel!

We love The Cave! My son has been going here for years for the group classes and also private sessions with resident Ninja Warrior Kevin Bull. Aside from being a phenomenal athlete, Kevin is patient, kind, and skilled at teaching kids new tricks while also making sure they have fun. The Cave has done an awesome job of staying open despite wildfire smoke and the pandemic. They follow the protocol and everything is very clean. We are thrilled to have The Cave and Kevin in our 'hood!

I have been doing CrossFit classes here for almost a year now and I have had the best experience so far. All of the coaches are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and supportive, and adjust all the workouts for athletes of all skill levels ranging from beginner to CrossFit Games Champion. 5 stars is nowhere near enough to display how great this place is.

I am in my 90s and enjoy a weekly session with Director Amanda Norton,
who has expert knowledge of the human anatomy, to improve my balance and muscles. She increases my heart rate with walking, biking, and rowing.
Other attending staff and clients provide a pleasant and friendly atmosphere.

Fantastic place! We started with gymnastics about 7 years ago and over the last several my kids have moved to parkour - every step has been a great experience! The coaches are incredible and teach more than gymnastics or parkour - they embody respect for self and others. Plus, the kids have a ton fun! And, all the staff at the Cave are very helpful, patient and super customer focused - couldn’t appreciate them more! Their Covid protocols have been in lock step with the county and then some. We are so lucky to have such an outstanding place in Marin!

I love The Cave! The coaching and programming are top notch. Not only has my body changed, but my relationship to my body has been transformed!! I also can not speak more highly about Coach Amanda Norton. After 18 months of shoulder pain and seeing 6 different practitioners, Amanda accurately assessed the underlying root cause and created a rehab program for me that resolved my pain within a couple of months. I have spent the last year, pain free!

I've been a member at The Cave for just over a year now and have absolutely loved taking CrossFit classes here! All of the coaching staff is very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The facility is great and has everything you could want. The CrossFit programming is top notch and I've seen a ton of improvement since I started. It's a great place for both CrossFit beginners and experts alike. Special shoutout to coach Ron for all the awesome and helpful coaching over the past year!

Their Covid protocols during the Omicron surge are not safe for the unvaccinated 5 and under crowd. The little room for Pre Rec gymnastics class does not have good air flow, while they assured me they had an HVAC system in place, it did not seem to do much.
The coaches for my daughters class changed frequently and the final one we ended up with had no control over the class and did not ask the kids to adjust their masks to cover their mouth and nose once. The little room is filled with kids, nannies, parents and unmasked babies accompanying their caregivers, while the huge room with garage doors that can open to the outside remain empty or with two to three people in them. My 3 year old just tested positive for Covid and I am 80% sure she contracted it from The Cave. Every time I called to express my concerns, no one answered the phone. Emails I received much later in response were dismissive and glib.

Our daughter had a poor experience here with gymnastics. The coaching our daughter received was limited and not in balance with other athletes. She ended up watching other athletes train and did not receive consistent opportunities to develop her skills. Our inquiries were responded to slowly and we never received full explanations or resolution. It felt like our daughter’s needs were not their priority. We were very unsatisfied with the gymnastics program and leadership. Plenty of problems with billing/accounting too.

Solid gym/ multi sports facility. Took the adult gymnastics class; even during Covid protocol times, it was fantastic. If interested in Ninja Warrior training or parkour or crossfit, they've got you covered there to. Great coaching, equipment, great environment. Nothing but positives. 5/5. Certainly recommended. I'll be back.

I joined the gym for two months when I moved to Marin after college in 2017. I enjoyed it and the coaches are great. I then moved to SF and I gave my notice to leave and they kept calling me for payment and I told them that I was not going to be part of the gym anymore. Why would I pay for a service I am not using. Three years later during this Pandemic, it shows up on my credit report that the Cave had reported me to collections... Three years later. To pray on clients like this during this time is shameful. I get it, business is business is business. No hard feelings, just very disappointed you guys would do this after 3 years.
