Had a terrible experience with this business and the owner. He flags bad reviews to try to keep a good score on Google (which is why there are so few). He closes his business unexpectedly for weeks without warning when his contract promises 24/7 access, 7 days a week. He also tries to pocket the money from those two weeks until anyone complains that he violated his own terms. I personally tried to explain to the owner that I wasn’t able to get in touch with him to cancel my membership after he closed unexpectedly and that I thought I had handled the matter myself by simply changing my information on his website so I would no longer be charged. He charged me anyway with my old information, which he should not have kept on file. I called the owner to explain but we were unable to reach a satisfactory agreement. The owners attitude is that it’s perfectly fair to pocket my money for two months when I haven’t been to his gym or used his facilities since he closed for two weeks without warning in June

I tried to cancel my subscription when the owner unexpectedly closed his “24 hour” gym during a holiday for several days. Unfortunately I was unable to reach him and when I was able to get in contact with him he absolutely refused to reimburse me for the months I wanted to be canceled. He’s unprofessional and allows his dog to roam around the gym unleashed. Take your money elsewhere.

I came in for a day pass today. Miguel was easy to work with and made sure the gym was open very early. Clean, new equipment and the people were extremely friendly. If I find myself in the area, I will definitely be dropping by again.

When I started working out at The Compound, I was doing Personal Training with the great and powerful Miguel. We did that for a few weeks, then the Stay at Home Order kicked in, and I stopped going to the gym. When the gyms were able to open back up outdoors only, Miguel modified his gym and opened back up. Meanwhile the “Corporate” gyms in Los Banos remain closed. When I came back to the gym, I continued to do PT, but my work schedule was getting hectic so I opted for a full membership to the gym. Miguel continued to advise and guide me in my workouts when he could, at NO EXTRA CHARGE! A corporate gym wouldn’t do that for you. Today, I went into the gym with this workout, but chatted it up with Lucas, another trainer at the gym, and he whipped up a whole workout that would work for today’s gym sesh! AT NO EXTRA CHARGE!! Joining The Compound has truly made a difference in my motivation to go to the gym. Small, locally owned gyms are the real Judgement Free Zone.
