I recently had a Cardiometabolic Exercise Profile (including VO2 max test) done at The Fitstop Human Performance Lab with Ken, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish.

Ken came highly recommended by several serious athletes, and it’s easy to see why—he’s a bit of a legend in this field. The accuracy and value of these tests depend so much on the person administering them, and Ken’s deep knowledge and years of experience made all the difference. I feel like I got results that were not only incredibly accurate but also way more actionable than I would’ve gotten elsewhere.

On top of that, Ken is just a great guy to work with. He’s professional but also warm and approachable, which instantly put me at ease. The testing environment was spotless and efficient, and everything ran like clockwork.

What really blew me away was the level of care he put into the process. I had my results and a detailed, easy-to-read report back the same day, and then he took the time to schedule a virtual meeting to go over everything. He explained it all in a way that made sense and gave me clear advice on how to apply the data to my training and goals.

If you’re looking for someone who truly knows their stuff, Ken is your guy. He’s an expert, highly respected in the field, and genuinely committed to helping his clients get the most out of the experience. I can’t recommend him enough!

My son, a high school track & XC athlete, had his VO2Max tested by Fitstop. Ken was very polite and knowledgeable and guided my son through the testing. When complete, he gave both my son and I a rundown of the initial results answering all our questions along the way. We received a report that evening and then had a final review to answer any new questions and get advice on how to get faster. I highly recommend using Fitstop to baseline and track your health and athletic performance.

My husband and I are training for Hyrox, and we went to see Ken so we knew more about our athletic profiles. Our watches, heart rate straps, and scales provided mixed results, and we didn’t know which one to believe. Ken’s thorough tests gave us our true numbers, and we will use his data to tweak our training and fitness. He got our HR zones dialed in, we know our V02 max, body fat percentage, and a lot of other great numbers. Ken is very easy to work with and is extremely knowledgeable! He even sets up a Zoom meeting with you to answer any questions you have about your results. We highly recommend him!

Working with Ken at Fit Stop Lab was the best decision I could've made. Can't speak highly enough of him! Initially I went to him for metabolic testing because I had zero experience in endurance sports and wanted to push myself to complete an Ironman 70.3. After he took the time to explain my numbers and we set a baseline, he then broke down what would be needed for optimal performance. I knew immediately he would be the perfect fit as my coach.

At this point I had dabbled with some online off-the-shelf coaching plans that didn't feel like they were structured well for me. It just wasn't a good fit. With Ken, all of those feelings were gone. The workouts made sense and I actually enjoyed them!

I went from someone who had never swam a lap in a pool, ran more than a couple of miles, or participated in any road cycling to feeling entirely up for the challenge of triathlon. Now, I've never been in this good of shape in my entire life. The transformation has been crazy.

It's hard to overstate the peace of mind he's given me as I prepare for this race for the past 8 months. While moving to a new home, raising a newborn, being a working husband, and fitting in travel/holidays hasn't made it an easy process... it's been an incredible journey. I can't wait for my full-distance Ironman race. I know I'll be ready with Ken by my side!

I have done VO2 Max testing with Ken three times now, twice for my running VO2 Max and most recently on the bike. Ken is so wonderful to work with. He explains everything so clearly from start to finish. Ken coaches so well throughout the testing process, providing positive renforcement, pushing you when you need it, and coaches through maintaining a steady cadence, all which work to get you the most accurate results possible. I will be working with Ken over the coming 6 months in training for an Ironman and I couldn't be more excited to have him and his knowledge in my corner in preparation for such a lengthy endurance race.

I am a 64-year-old triathlete. Ken did a superb job in both the testing and debrief post-testing. He is a great communicator. I learned many new things and we produced a great list of 5 take-aways---things for me to work on to improve. This was my first test. I will definitely be going back for more to see how my adjustments are effecting my performance.

As an older athlete, Fitstop was the best decision I ever made. Ken Nicodemus is a physiologist with a keen insight into how to evaluate your current physiological state and develop a program to help you meet your goals. Ken has trained athletes of all ages and skill levels successfully. The years between 65 and 70 are typically when older athletes begin to lose strength dramatically. I started with Ken when I was 65 years old, I am now 71 and I haven't lost any strength or power. I cannot say enough good things about Ken's capabilities, he is a good man and provides fantastic support and service.

I had an excellent experience working with Ken. He set up a complete training program for a 50-mile mountain bike event I just completed. Each Saturday Ken sent me a weekly training program, and would respond to any questions I had within 24 hours. As the event grew closer Ken helped me dial in my pre-event and event nutrition and fluid intake. On the day of the event I felt confident that the rigorous and carefully planned training program had set me up for success. I highly recommend working with Ken for any endurance training/event.

Great experience! Got exactly what I wanted and more. I am now prompted to take my training to another level and, instead of guessing, I can enter a new season of training knowing how to get the most out of each workout and strengthen my weaknesses and refine my strengths. And, more importantly, know how to not overwork and when to rest. Thanks Ken, will be back!
