I go to Adam at the Gym in Mission Hills for athletic massage. He is a very skilled practitioner with detailed knowledge of the body. He is able to adjust the massage to what is going on with my muscles that day. As well as being very professional, he is also kind. I recommend him very highly.

I’ve been lifting here for about a year and a half; which is saying a lot because I’ve never lasted this long at any other personal training gym. Usually, trainers get you hyped for the first 8 weeks and then run out of ideas. Not here.
Adam has built an absolute dream team of trainers who actually know what they’re doing. They push you the right way, dial in your workouts to keep you progressing, and somehow make 6 am sessions something I look forward to (wild, I know).
They also give great advice around nutrition and how to stay active outside the gym, so it’s not just a “see you twice a week” thing; it’s a full lifestyle shift.
These folks have me in the best shape of my life, and I can’t thank them enough.
Honestly, I debated writing this review because I don’t want to give away my secret spot and end up fighting people for equipment… but here we are.

This review is long overdue. I’ve been going to this gym for about two years now, and it is one of the best things I’ve ever done for my health and wellbeing. I’ll be going to this gym for as long as I live in San Diego.
Adam, Jake and the rest of the team are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, and I’ve benefitted immensely from their ability to tailor fitness plans to my own goals and needs. Highly, highly recommended to anyone looking to elevate their performance or start a new fitness routine.

I started going to The Gym in my early 40's to increase my strength and stamina so I could keep up with my young kids. I feel much stronger and healthier since I started. Adam and his team are extremely knowledgeable and will tailor a routine to fit your needs. I would highly recommend The Gym.

Great technical and inclusive gym and staff for queer and trans folks. Great model for those weary of the gym, where you start with 30 minute sessions. It’s kept me going 3x a week since November. Nick is fantastic, highly recommend.

My husband and I found the perfect trainer at The Gym in Mission Hills.....Kelly! He really LISTENED to us and what our goals were. Every session Kelly planned a different and challenging exercise; the time flew by. Were we beat at the end of our hour? YES! But stronger and so pleased we found our perfect trainer!

I cannot speak for Adam's gym expertise, but I can vouch for his honest and courteous demeanor. My wallet uncharacteristically fell out of my pocket and I was fortunate to have Adam discover it. Adam messaged me on social media and successfully returned my wallet with everything inside. My wallet was in good hands with Adam and I'm sure you would be too if you chose his health/exercise advice.

I have been a client at the Gym in Missions Hills for 4 years. Adam and his team have helped me recover from injuries, prepare / recover for by bicycling races and trips, modify my diet and give me motivation for striving for bigger goals. So personal, talented, non-judgmental and knowledgable. They have made my life so much better.

I cant say enough positive things about my experience with The Gym in MH. We are moving this month and sadly I had to end my membership. but working out here for the past 10 months has been such a positive addition to my life. When I joined I had really lost any sort of fitness routine and my main aim was to gain strength. I choose the package that includes a monthly training session where Adam customizes two workout routines that I then alternate doing myself on my own time until we meet again the next month. As a member I have access to the gym at any time and when I go during off hours I typically get the space to myself! The routines were tailored to my goals and personal fitness. When I found out I was pregnant, Adam worked with me to come up with a plan to stay healthy while safely continuing my strength training throughout the pregnancy. The gym is clean, the trainers are great and the other clients are friendly. I highly recommend joining.

This gym is one of the best gym I have been to in my long life. Attention to detail is the name of the game. As an Army veteran, the best soldiers were those who were able to detect the little things to make the mission a success. This is what Adam Winter (owner) and his staff do. They not only take care of the large issues concerning you body makeover, but zero in on the little things that can mean the difference between staying motivated or losing interest in your body's new lifestyle. You will never regret taking time out of your busy schedule to go to The Gym to make yourself feel healthier.
