Be aware: the staff member may not inform you that you CANNOT cancel your annual membership early, unless you’re moving more than 25 miles away.

I was told by an employee that I just needed to pay $100 if I canceled the membership within a year. I believe he deliberately withheld the fact that I would STILL be required to pay the remaining balance of the membership fee to get out of the contract, just to get me to sign up.

So, when I wanted to switch gyms later, I ended up paying a few hundred extra dollars to cover the rest of the year's fees.

To be fair, this information is listed in their contract, but I was slammed with work at the time, and trusted the employee’s word, signing up without carefully reviewing the terms.

However, the staff member should have been more transparent about the policy, WITHOUT HIDING IMPORTANT DETAILS.

Best gym in LA. Sufficient equipment, great locker room, good cardio machines. The staff is top notch and super friendly and helpful. Power lifting room for deadlifts etc, tons of free weights, kettlebells and medicine balls. Great layout and it rarely feels crowded. Little more expensive than the other chain gyms but that means less riff raff and more serious lifters. If you want to get dense and bulbous and jacked, this is the place for you. Awesome gym.

If I could give this gym 100 stars, I would! If you live in West LA and you’re looking for a great gym, this is the spot! I’ve been a member for almost a year now and I can honestly say this place is the perfect gym for both the individual who is just getting started and the individual who’s more advanced.

The staff is incredibly helpful, courteous, the gym is clean, it never gets too busy, and the other gym members are respectful. This is a neighborhood gym, and it feels like it, but it’s got all the bells and whistles you could want from a commercialized gym. Plus, they have private trainers who are super nice, knowledgeable and available for personal sessions! I’ve actually been training with Russ and I’m super pleased with my body transformation!

The manager, Jen, is so sweet and helpful. She’s the kind of person that genuinely cares about you. When I originally came in for some information, she showed me the entire space, walked me around, and I got a complimentary day pass to try out the gym since I’m a local resident. Parking is easy as well. There’s a garage right behind the gym!

It’s crazy how the manager is in the comments gaslighting customers’ experiences stating that they are “untrue” and “defamation”. Well, no girl, rarely anyone is going to take time out to write a false review for no reason. Additionally, it’s just plain unprofessional. The first thing in customer service is to always be willing to work with and believe a customer. Find a solution instead of running to Yelp to delete reviews! All customers need is to feel like they’re heard and understood and Jen is AWFUL at doing that as she accused me of lying before I can even meet her?! Hate to pull the race card, but is it because I am black? What’s the deal with you? I just met you! I’ve seen the one dude in the afternoon working the front desk and he’s probably the only good thing about this place. Overall, Jen, you’re quite mean and I suggest you should look deep within yourself and ask why and then work on it because projecting that negative energy onto everybody else won’t get you anywhere in life. Instead, you may actually genuinely put someone in harm. You never know what someone is going through, you should be a lot more understanding especially in your position and location.

PS. I don’t even write reviews but I had to for Jen. Whether you know it or not, you actually really hurt my feelings making me feel invalidated and untrustworthy. Great Gym Experience But Unresponsive Customer Service

I've had the pleasure of being a member at this gym for quite some time, and I've genuinely enjoyed my time here. The gym equipment is top-notch, always kept in the best condition, and has everything one needs for a great workout.

In addition to this, the staff is absolutely fantastic. They are very professional, friendly, and always willing to assist. They've played a significant role in creating an enjoyable and motivating environment.

However, my experience with the membership cancellation process has been disappointing. Despite my repeated attempts to cancel my membership due to a change in my living situation, I've yet to receive any form of personal acknowledgment or response. The only responses I have received so far are automated emails, which do not address my concerns directly.

I appreciate the quality of the gym, but I believe that the customer service aspect, especially the cancellation process, needs significant improvement. It's vital that members receive the same level of attention and response when they wish to cancel as when they first sign up.

Overall, I highly recommend the gym for its excellent facilities and staff, but urge potential members to be aware of the difficulties in the cancellation process.

Update 6/15/2023 - Billing department has emailed me back for a resolution. Appreciate it.

I have been coming to this gym for the last few months now. I wanted to write a review once I had gotten a chance to fully see how my experience would be after awhile. And so far it has been really amazing! I moved from out of state and wanted to find a gym in which I felt comfortable enough to start my fitness journey to good health. This gym is a little gem! I love how clean it is, how kind everyone is from the staff and even the members. It has a very boutique feel to it which makes me feel very comfortable working out there, but it has everything you absolutely need for fitness success. I also decided to hire a personal trainer by the name of Max and he’s been such a golden nugget to what I’m trying to achieve with my health and fitness goals. I would highly recommend him if you’re to put in the work , need great support and motivation, but also want to challenge yourself and be successful at it. Also it’s always a treat to have a stretch session at the end of my workout sessions with Max. It really helps me feel great in my body without all the pain and aches that can come from getting your body back into shape. Come check this gym out and I’m sure you will be just as pleased as I have been. Good luck to everyone on their fitness journey!

I enjoy this gym. It's local and I walk here. As an early riser and weekend goer, the gym is pretty quiet and I don't ever have problems accessing equipment. They could probably afford to have a few more benches and some of the machines could probably use a bit of maintenance, but it's all still functional.

Some important aspects to know:
- Parking situation is a bit less than desirable.
- They have a separate room for accessory and heavy bag work.
- No racks but they have a couple platforms. You can make it work.
- Towel service at the front desk
- Toilets are often not quite in a usable state due to unmindful patrons. However, this is more of a product of a public gym rather than staff upkeep, as everything else is kept up really well.
- The hours of business are great.
- Overall friendly staff and affordable membership.

Where do I begin? This facility is meant to be a gym for private training but as a personal trainer avoid this place at all cost if you want to keep your clients.
Parking is very bad and sometimes it takes clients 15 to 20 minutes to park.
Equipment is outdated and mostly meant to make the floor look full which makes the gym lack space for any functional training.
The management is very close minded and not open to any constructive feed back.
Finally the changing room and the showers are super tight and claustrophobic and in many instances dirty.

Been a regular at The Gym for 2-3 years now. It can get crowded during rush hour but if your routine is flexible you should be able to get through it. Other people here are generally friendly, making it easy to share equipment in between sets if necessary.

The facilities are really clean - shoutout to the single cleaning guy that they have. He does an amazing job and I've never seen him not working.

No problems with management. If equipment is broken, it generally gets fixed in a reasonable time frame. They haven't caused me any problems since I signed up which is all you can really ask for.

I’ve been a member since the gym opened. I never regretted it - even in those periods I wasn’t able to go regularly. The gym is worth it. It is very well maintained and clean, which is important to me. Just last week I felt the seat to the adductor machine was very loose. I reported it to the front desk clerk on my way out. The next day it was already fixed. We all know it would take a typical gym a week at least to look at it. The towel service is a nice extra touch too. The trainers are really friendly and not constantly trying to sale you sessions. A trainer had just finished with a client on the mats so I asked him how to roll out my glute on a foam roller. He gave me a few minutes of his time to show me and never tried to hit me up for sessions. There’s a nice culture to the place. People are very motivating!

good gym facility BUT WATCH OUT FOR THEIR BILLING CONTRACT!!

they have a "moving clause" for cancellation but they require you to move >25 mile radius. I am currently living ~18 miles away and with LA traffic, I'm 45 minute-2 hrs away depending on time of day. I will not be commuting to this gym. I am stuck paying out the rest of the contract. When I signed up I checked for the moving cancellation option, but did not understand it was for >25 miles.

For los ángeles, esp this neighborhood, I would expect a 10mile or less radius for cancellation.

I was not happy with the customer service I received when I reached out about this issue. especially given that I was 7/8 of the way paid out of my contract either way.

I liked this gym b/c it was walking distance from my apartment. If you are confident you're staying in the neighborhood, great, sign up. it's small and can get crowded. parking can be very bad although they have some underground dedicated spots. I would recommend walking.

I've sent an email requesting cancelling membership. It shows that they have read my email (I've sent twice and they read both of them), but they have not given me any response.
It seems like they want the time to pass by so that they could charge another monthly fee of membership by ignoring my request for cancellation.
They do not care whatsoever about customer service, and their only pursuit is money. period.
If you have read this response, please cancel or at least reply for my cancellation request?

ps. If the review seems negative, they will remove the review without considering them as a feedback to improve on.

Update: It has been two months since I have posted this review. They are still charging membership fee and although I have sent proof of moving out with my membership cancellation request, they completely ignored my email. Easy to join and almost impossible to quit. This business is just complete robbery.

I did a 1 day pass as I don't live in LA. Very clean, empty at 6pm on a Wednesday, legit squat racks, super nice people, nice locker rooms, reasonable prices ($60/mo, $15 day pass), towel service. I'd definitely be a member if I lived in the neighborhood.

Best trainers. Best motivation. Pushing w/o scream and yelling. It's refreshing to be with a group of people that work to help you do your best each and every time. It's is definitely worth the time to take a tour and try a class. Just TRY it. Bring your goals ( both spirit and body goals ) with you. They will do all they can to get you there.

Joined a few days ago on a temporary membership while in LA. Looked at a few rotten places hen came across these guys. Called and spoke to Rick who was beyond friendly and then when went in, so hospitable and kind. Lovely gym. So many good facilities. People who work there are friendly (apart from one passive aggressive trainer who was pretty rude to me on the first day but I won't let him soil it). Wholeheartedly recommend this place. Shame I don't live there and regularly use it.
