The Gym Venice is the best little gym in the world!
I never thought I'd actually look forward to going to the gym....and always leave here with a bounce in my step and a huge sense of accomplishment! Everyone is super friendly, the equipment is in excellent condition and the place is spotless. The trainers are all super knowledgeable and clearly enjoy being there. Not to mention the great music that keeps the vibe upbeat. The owner Kris cares deeply about every detail of the place.
I'm so thankful I found this gem in the neighborhood.

I'm so glad i walked into this place when i did! Kris is an excellent trainer! He is knowledgeable in weight-lifting and creates an inclusive and empowering environment!
in such a short amount of time i feel my body and mind is strong and only getting stronger! I leave each session with Kris feeling strong and ready to conquer anything!.....even when i'm pushed to my weight limits! lol!

I LOVE The Gym Venice!

In the world of LA fitness, Kris and his team stand among the best.

After a bad experience at another personal training facility, I randomly called The Gym Venice. On the other end of the phone was Kris, the owner.
I explained my past experiences, my life long injuries from hyper mobility issues.
Kris was extremely knowledgeable, warm and understanding .

I’m 2 yrs in! I go twice a week and train mainly with Darien, who is GREAT!! All the trainers are. There is zero intimidation here. It’s a family!

There is an onsite physical therapist, Amir. He works with professional athletes and common folk. Changed my life.

All that aside, my main reason for training here is the gym dog Sydney.
Sydney pushes you to be your best!

I've been a dedicated member of the Gym for the past two years - it got me out of the Covid rut -and I can confidently say it has been an exceptional experience. Here are a few reasons why I love this gym:

**Darian, My Personal Trainer**:
Darian is, without a doubt, the best trainer I've ever had. His expertise, motivation, and personalized approach have significantly improved my fitness journey. He tailors each session to my needs, ensuring that I am always challenged and progressing. Darian's encouragement and knowledge make every workout both effective and enjoyable.

**Fantastic Equipment**:
The gym is equipped with state-of-the-art machines and a wide variety of free weights. Whether you're into strength training, cardio, or functional fitness, the Gym has everything you need. The equipment is always clean, well-maintained, and readily available, which makes working out here a pleasure.

**Ample Parking**:
One of the most convenient aspects is the ample parking available. I never have to worry about finding a spot, which makes getting to my workouts stress-free. This is a huge plus, especially in a busy city like Los Angeles.

Overall, the Gym has exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of an outstanding trainer like Darian, top-notch equipment, and hassle-free parking makes it the perfect place to achieve your fitness goals. Highly recommend!!

I joined the Gym recently to get back into weightlifting. I’ve been working Connor and have got much stronger much faster than I have before. He’s awesome.

The space is great. High quality equipment— it has everything you need and nothing you don’t for strength and conditioning— plus clean, well spaced, etc.

I think that they limit the number of folks inside at any point which is super helpful in that it’s never too busy / you can always use whatever equipment you need. All the other members I’ve met / chatted with seem cool and like minded.

My girlfriend and I worked with Connor to get back in shape after a year filled with life changes and disruptions. He was incredibly supportive but pushed us to do our best and achieve more than we thought we could. Tl;dr: If you live with pain, come to the Gym in Venice and meet with Kris and Amir. They will heal you and help you get your life back.

I came to Kris, the owner of The Gym with what little hope I had left.

4 spinal surgeries had left me with 4 straight years of chronic pain. A 5-10 min walk was the max for my movement and forget about weight lifting entirely. In fact, that's what all of the surgeons and neurologists told me to do. No more weights, try to live the best life you can within your new normal.

So I came to Kris with all of this and he said the first thing we're going to do is have you work with Amir.

Amir is a physical therapist unlike any I have met before. His gift lies in his empathy. In his ability to listen to you and feel the pain you feel to then know where and how to treat you.

"Amir has healing hands." That is a quote from one of his other friends/patients and it is 100% true.

Amir broke down years of knots and tension and poor circulation. He helped the muscles breathe again and the inflammation to slowly reduce.

In a month I was walking without a limp. In 3 months I was walking 2-3 times a day for upwards of 10 mins. In 5 months I was walking over 20 mins.

My pain started to relent to the joy I felt in having my life slowly come back to me.

Amir has trained and healed professional bodybuilders, martial artists, the Iranian Olympic Powerlifting Team and a busted up 45 year-old dad who can now pick up his son without pain.

I see Amir every week. He is a dear and trusted friend. I am training with Kris and lifting weights again for the first time in over 4 years. It's incredible.

If you are in pain come to the Gym in Venice and meet with Kris and Amir. They will help you.

I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for me.

I’ve been in SoCal for three months as a digital nomad and The Gym Venice and Bethany Wiseblood, who’s been my personal trainer have been a major highlight of my stay. I highly recommend both the gym and Bethany. Not only has my body changed in a positive way, but I feel stronger and more confident than ever. Weightlifting is a game changer and having a down to earth environment with a high degree of expertise, has made this experience of getting more toned and fit, very rewarding and almost fun😅

KRIS IS INCREDIBLE. I’ve been working out at The Gym for a little over six months and I’ve never been stronger. I’ve been a gym rat most of my life and subscribed to the belief that the harder I work, more I sweat, less I eat, the better I’ll look. Kris showed me the real path to strength training and building lean muscle in a healthy and sustainable way. He helped put me on an easy to follow eating program and continues to support me and all of my fitness goals. I’ve put on 8 pounds of lean muscle and I’m down a dress size. I have a newfound sense of confidence about my body and I seriously owe it all to Kris!

Kris the legend!! I spent the summer training in the gym, from June to September, ranging from 1-3 sessions/week, with the owner Kris and John. Kris is one of the most compassionate, loving and intuitive human beings I’ve met. John is the philosopher type who teaches you how to breathe to be more powerful:) i love both of them! And Tomika, Erin! Everyone is so great. I walked in as a complete newbie, walked out with a community I’m grateful for and a body i love more than ever.

During the course of three months, the gym family helped me develop an intuitive understanding about my body, how to activate my muscles-that’s more of my goal, but yes side effects are I gained muscles lost fat and most measurements went down for 2 inches. Kris even did some magic and fixed some old injury of mine. I’m so obsessed with how the muscles look on me now! My shoulders! Deadlifts feel so powerful! Since I’m temporarily graduated from the gym now and will be traveling, Kris also taught me how to do workout on my own with bands.

I have to say this is the best money I have spent on myself. Best equipment, clean, spacious. Kris said “i just want everybody to come in, have a good time and fall in love with weight training”. This is exactly my experience here. 100% recommend to everyone.

This is an amazing gym with exceptional programming. I did a ton of homework on westside gyms before signing up here and couldn't be happier. I hesitated at first because I mistook it for a bodybuilding joint It's not. This is about personal fitness. Kris, the owner, has a vision. He's hands on, extremely knowledgeable, kind and down to earth. He makes it safe, efficient, smart and fun for all levels. Atmosphere is super friendly. Space is clean and styled. Cool staff and clientele. After two months, I feel stronger and like I'm on a new path. Exactly what I needed to up my game.

I hate going to gyms. I also hate working out at home. I have been to many and all types of classes. This is a completely different experience. Is the space very cool with great equipment and so on ? Yes, but the key ingredient is Kris along with his team of trainers. The knowledge being shared is unique because it is complete. There are no grey areas. Their focus is on the client and his/her goals and how to reach them safely and gradually to avoid injury. This is the opposite of one size fits all.
I have NEVER EVER been consistent, just passing from one fad to another. I am not self motivated so cannot sustain any course or class. This is life changing for me. Having a trainer who cares about each exercise and how it will help you and how to get you to do it well is an incredible experience.
For the first time in my life, thanks to Kris and his team, I am enjoying the ride! Don't miss out! Get yourself in there now!

There is a new gym in town. It is called simply and appropriately “The Gym –Venice” A light, airy and spacious gym, with a full complement of the most advanced and “top of the line” fitness equipment: machines, free weights, aerobic trainers etc. Facilities for massage, physical therapy and yoga too. And uniformly friendly and welcoming as well. This is no “Spandex mill”.

Founder/owner/chief personal trainer Kris Herbert is a young, highly competent and committed expert whose knowledge of anatomy, neuromuscular, orthopedic, even nutritional concerns and the metabolic processes which underlie them is astounding, on par with that of sports physicians. His cohort of supervised trainers are of that caliber. He is so personable, warm, perceptive and empathetic he can even tell how you’re feeling on a given day and tailor your appropriately intensive workout to that. You leave there of a given day: trained!

His is a true communitarian ethic, he really wants to improve the health, fitness and perforce the happiness of the population, one client at a time. I know that sounds excessive: believe it! Prices are competitive, but with some “wiggle room” amongst various programs.

I am a new client. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Kris has created the motto of the place: “Gain Control of Your Body”. I have amended that to (Re)Gain Control of Your Body. Why? Because I am an 80 year old former collegiate fencing champion, who, as a writer, have been far too lax of late. I feel like I’m getting my body back. Shape: strength, endurance, flexibility, even mood. And the latest findings show that increased muscular strength in older folds significantly forestalls mortality and reduces by 31% the incidence of cancer. Flock there! You’ll thank me later.
