It's Magic!
I have never been a person that enjoys working out. But the energy that I experience at Petrina's pilates sculpt is contagious and motivating. It fires me up and helps to encourage me to power through tough moments. Now I find myself looking forward to her workouts. They are really FUN and for me that's a 180 degree change compared to my previous outlook on exercise. I don't recognize myself because I look forward to the next party!
Melba's hot yoga class makes me feel supported and encouraged as I work on my core strength and improve my flexibility. She cares about your fitness and brings her years of experience to her classes to teach you skills that help you to improve the various asanas. Attending these classes has helped me to become stronger and more flexible.
Nicole's yoga 90 class is wonderful! She's very knowledgeable & teaches us to articulate different body parts so we can keep the range of motion that we have and improve upon it. I am practicing articulating the vertebrae in the spine, my hips, my shoulders, even my toes to improve their function and not substitute mobility in one joint and sacrifice a different one. My mobility and flexibility have started to show gains and I'm grateful

It hurts so good!!! Petrina's classes are EVERYTHING! She challenges everyone in her class to push themselves beyond what they think they are capable of. She has great energy, she varies her routines and plays fantastic music.

I did the two week new student membership. I took 6 different classes with 5 different teachers. The experience really depends on the teacher. For the most part, teachers were very militant. Some did not like face towels. Some only allowed to drink water at certain times when teacher gave the okay cue. I even got scolded at for talking after class while I was packing my stuff. There was no meditation or spirituality in any of the practices. The studio does get hot and the asanas are not necessarily difficult. I also find Nicole and Mayu good teachers. They throughly guide through each asana. Yet, it is not enough for me to stay because overall I was highly disappointed at this studio.

The hot room Long Beach has absolutely been a wonderful experience for me. I have been attending classes regularly for three months and have seen awesome results. Each of the instructors have their own unique style. They all bring a passion and dedication to each and every class that is palpable. I always leave feeling like the instructors genuinely care about my health and well-being. Patrina is one of the Pilates instructors whose classes I've been able to attend most often given my schedule. She is very encouraging and pushes us to try our best and give all that we can. She understands that each person has their own capabilities and or physical challenges. Students are always reminded to progress at a pace they are comfortable with. Patrina observes everyone in the room and is there to help anyone who may need it. She is lively and upbeat and brings a lot of fun and laughter to each class. She also plays great music that you definitely want to work out to! We are all complimented and thanked by her at the end of class for showing up and trying our best. I highly recommend the hot room Long Beach. In reality, all of the instructors bring these same qualities to their classes. They are happy to see their students and they simply seem happy to be there supporting u
our optimal physical and mental well-being.

I’ve been going to the hot room for about 3 months. I took my first class with Petrina and absolutely fell in love. Her classes are challenging and rewarding. The environment she creates for her students is a welcoming and engaging experience. This is the place to be if you are looking for a fun and challenging workout. I recommend it to everyone in any stage of your fitness journey!!!

Took my first and last class at this studio. Was looking for something closer to where I live and was super disappointed from the moment I paid and was checked in. I booked a hot pilates class, and had no proper instruction of anything after mentioning I was a first time student, got rudely yelled at by the instructor to leave my phone outside the studio, and felt like this was more of a yelling/bootcamp lead class. The instructor kept sarcastically mentioning the session we were doing was “not that hard” while students were putting in their work. I would agree with another review I saw on their page in that “this class goes against the whole entire purpose, intention, and benefit of yoga. I’m honestly forever traumatized from this place. It’s a disgrace to the yoga community and I’m extremely disappointed”. My instructor was Petrina.

Petrina is an absolutely phenomenal Pilates instructor at The Hot Room Long Beach! She is incredibly dedicated to her students and truly pushes us beyond what we think our limits are every Saturday morning. I have never seen my body transform so quickly as it has since taking her classes.
I initially started with pretty severe neck pain from an injury, and thanks to Petrina’s expert guidance, I’ve seen tremendous improvement in my neck, back, and shoulders. Her Hot Pilates Sculpt Full Beast Mode class is no joke—it’s intense, challenging, and exactly what you need if you’re looking for a killer workout. This class is hands down so much better than any Megaformer class I’ve ever taken.
If you’re ready to sweat, strengthen, and see real results, I highly recommend taking Petrina’s class. She will push you, support you, and help you unlock strength you didn’t know you had!

Worst yoga class I have ever taken. Unsafe, dictatorship style of teaching yoga with the man (Francisco) sitting on a chair in the corner. Yells at you for wiping your face with a towel. Yells at you if you create any type of personal modification. This class goes against the whole entire purpose, intention, and benefit of yoga. I’m honestly forever traumatized from this place. It’s a disgrace to the yoga community and I’m extremely disappointed.

Really appreciated the Kinstretch class that was led by Nicole. Didn't expect to sweat at all but I actually did because the warm was warm and the stretches were actually quite challenging. My shoulders felt so mobile and warmed up by the end of the class. Loved that Nicole remembered my name the first day meeting me and would address me directly in class to correct my form. Great mobility class!

Hands down the best yoga studio I’ve ever been to. The difference is in the quality of instruction: all of the teachers are so focused on form, making sure you’re doing the correct movements for your body, and helping you understand how to teach your body how to move correctly.
I go to three different classes by different instructors and each focuses on different skills. I’ve really been able to take my time to understand how my body responds to the poses and focus in on the muscles I need to develop. In the six months I’ve been going here, I’ve gained a ton of strength, gotten off of the advil and pain cream I used to use every night, and lost fifteen pounds (it might not all be from the yoga, I’ve definitely changed my sleep patterns and other things too, but I believe this had a lot to do with it.)
If you’re looking for instructors who really care about helping you, I can’t recommend anything better than this.

Today I completed my first 100th class of Bikram Yoga in The Hot Room Long Beach. The journey for me began on Sept. 18, 2016 with 2 week introduction of unlimited classes for only $29.
I started with 15 consecutive days, then 7 days consecutive in December and 13 days consecutively in January 2017.
I want to thank the owner Rebekah and staff of excellent instructors Francisco, Jana, Jennifer, Kristin, Melba, and Nicole that have lead me for 4 months that includes a recent double on January 5, 2017 and averaging 25 classes per month which has comes to under $5 per class for me. There guidance has been very therapeutic in both mind and body.
The Hot Room in Long Beach and their instructors have made a BIG impact in my life and though I have started this journey at a later stage in my life (57 years of age) I have improved in my practice and I very appreciative to all of them and the very nice yogis who practice in the Hot Room in Long Beach..
As I breath out 2018 and with the completion of 500 Bikram Yoga class at The Hot Room Long Beach last week, I am so very grateful for this practice that helps me keep me in balance physically, mentally and even spiritual.
This yoga practice has helped me keep me going in the things I have to do, as well as, helped me stay active as I age into a new decade of the sixties in the year 2019.
I would have never known that breathing and stillness together would provide so many benefits if I did not get a reply after I contacted the Founder and original owner Rebekah of the studio by email after a weekend jog in my neighborhood almost 2 1/2 years ago.
I was so very fortunate when Rebekah who later sold the studio to one of her Excellent Certified Bikram Yoga Instructor Nicole kept the studio alive for all of us to practice and she truly understands that our bodies are different every single day.
My yoga practice in The Hot Room Long Beach is consistent (ranging from 3-5 days per week) with options to take classes in the morning, evenings and weekends and never have to be concern who is the Instructor, they are all Excellent. With these options I can continue to maintain a job and participate in other activities that I enjoy as going for bike rides, a jog, a hike, working out at the gym, Church and Social Clubs.. All these things I do better with the practice including being a husband, father and son.
There remains many more challenges that I must tackle in the practice as the new year approaches. I will be travelling away to a place there is no Bikram Yoga Studios the first week of January for 3 weeks. This will be the longest period I will be away from the studio and practicing. I feel somewhat concern that I may lose a lot of the hard work put into the practice.
I will have to be practicing Bikram on my own without the Instructors and the energy of so many yogis that I enjoy seeing, sharing their energies and without the heat and humidity which is also the part of the practice. Up to now, the most I have been away from the studio has been 4 days and my plans is bring my mat and to practice one set of the sequence of poses on my own during my trip.
Also, when I return I have some big changes on the job at work and this will tax my time but with this practice I know it will help me get through it. Also, there is the 30 day Challenge always offer twice a year at the studio that I have yet to do. And still need to try Hot Pilates now offered at the studio.
As I enter my senior years by continuing to practice Bikram Yoga at The Hot Room Long Beach I see things with a realm of possibility that I can face the challenges and improve not only my poses, my practice, my health, my mind, my spirit, my life and yes become a better version of me in 2019.

I love this studio! Such a great small local location that is packed with lots of good classes, teachers, students, and energy. The studio has a homey feel and is always clean. The classes are hot and sweaty and the instructors know how to give you the best mind and body workout. I love the Bikram classes but also really like the hot pilates and hot fusion classes as well. Its nice to mix things up! My only feedback would be to add more hot pilates and fusion classes!!! Namaste :)

I really like this place. Sure, I'm a bit biased because I live right around the corner, but that's not the only reason. The 75/90 classes are very structured and the instructors I've experienced so far don't miss a beat. They're very approachable and the classes are non-competitive and I never feel as if anyone is "showing off". And the heat is no joke. They do a great job. Plus, plenty of parking in the nearby lots and street.
