For the past 3 years, The LAB has been my fitness haven. After giving up soccer and running due to chronic injuries, I found my way here, and it's been life-changing. I've not only returned to the sports I love but I'm fitter than ever.

The staff's expertise is evident; they've custom-tailored workouts that cater to my specific needs. It's like having a personal team dedicated to my success.

Three years in, I'm reminded that we only have one body in this life, and The LAB helps me treat it well.

Cheers to The LAB for helping me achieve my fitness goals!

This gym receives a 5-star rating due to the effectiveness of the methods in place to help achieve your personal fitness goals. From workout plans tailored to your specific strengths and identified needs, to the trainers who are knowledgeable in the science of anything to do with your body, The Lab makes getting in shape an enjoyable process.

There is a full kitchen, a sauna room, cryotherapy, and even physical therapy available to all members for best recovery. There is an in-body machine that measures the statistics of growth within your body from muscles to fat loss. You can ask the trainers and nutritionists questions about best practices to help you achieve your goals.

I recommend this gym to anyone who wants a science-based regimen that is sure to work if you work with it.

The Lab is a boutique gym with a community of members who become your friends over time and make it enjoyable to workout in a friendly and non-judgmental environment. The members range in age and various needs, so it is a good fit for anyone from zero athletic experience up to seasoned athletes who wish to improve on anything from golf swings to jumping hurdles.

If you’re thinking about it, you’re probably in a position where you’re seeking effective change and this place will make sure to get you to where you want to be.

I have been going to The Lab since it opened its doors. Initially, I just took advantage of their recovery package as I am very active doing endurance type of sporting events and appreciate the recovery tools that they offer offer such as cryotherapy and Norma-Tech boots. Over the years, I have watched the trainers with various clients and have seen the benefits of individualized training. For me the biggest barrier to be a full member was the time commitment. However, I started noticing some muscle imbalance issues and pain that needed attention before they became worse. I took the big step and joined as a full client. In my assessment, they looked at my strengths and weaknesses, and wrote me up a plan specific for me and what I needed. The trainers are all amazing. I never feel like I’m just killing myself with the work out… I feel more like little steps that build me into a stronger person. Workouts are easy to schedule, the physical therapist that treat you are both incredible. I tell them they have “healing hands.” All the trainers and clients are so friendly. You almost feel like you’re part of a family. I would strongly recommend The Lab for anybody that is serious, about their health, mobility, and longevity.

Best gym experience ever! Professional and highly personal training, great community and inspiring environment. I love the neighborhood too! It’s great to start the day with a workout and grab lunch in the Funk Zone after.

I used the anti-gravity treadmill here for a few months while recovering from surgery. The staff are amazing, and I feel happy to be back running on land again!

Love everything and everyone at The Lab! I am so grateful to the entire team and community here. Don’t know what I would do without my weekly workouts, cryo sessions, PT, and recovery that is offered. Endless thanks to everyone that makes it all possible! The Lab is a part of my lifestyle and a continued commitment to myself to show up, stay active, and be healthy!

-221 degrees Fahrenheit ...Awesome! I accompanied my wife for her 1st session and had no idea what it was all about. She had heard about it, researched it, and knew ALL about it so when she found out that there was a new place here in SB she immediately had to try it. She's suffered from chronic pain/inflammation due to several bad accidents in her past and has not been able to alleviate her pain. She Loved her session and after watching her do a 3 minute session I thought it looked pretty cool (pun intended) and decided to try it too. I'm recovering from a partially torn rotator cuff gym injury which is still pretty sore and I have to say that it felt amazingly better after the treatment (and for about 3-4 hours after). I took some literature from the place when we left and was amazed at all the different health aspects associated with it. While we were there a former UCSB star & NBA player whom my wife knew walked in for a treatment and said that he always goes when he is in town. I'm going back again today for my 2nd session out of 3 in the package. Definitely Not inexpensive but may be worth it if it helps my wife with her chronic pain/inflammation.
