Such a phenomenal place and program. As a professor of child development and someone who works in children’s mental health, I have always been so excited to recommend all of my clients to the little gym for motor, cognitive and social/emotional development. For years now i have looked forward to eventually be able to take a child of my own and so as soon as my son was of age, we were excited to attend little gym. We’ve been attending parent classes for a year now and he always has such a fantastic time. It is his favorite day of the week and mine too. Thank you so much to the amazing teachers and staff here!! Today, something upsetting happened at the gym where I’ve been bringing my granddaughter for months. She has a documented speech delay and low perception, which means she has trouble following instructions. This has been clearly stated in her file from day one—and until now, it hasn’t been an issue. But today there were new instructors, and one of them handled things very poorly. My granddaughter wasn’t there to become a world champion—she was there simply to burn off energy and enjoy herself. She’s actually quite talented in gymnastics and even teaches herself moves by watching YouTube videos at home. She learns by watching, not through strict instructions. Instead of understanding this, the new instructor kept chasing her around and forcing her to join the stations. Eventually, the instructor grabbed her from behind and took her out of class. My granddaughter was giggling, thinking it was a game, but the instructor told me, “She does not listen, so she needs to sit here to calm down.” She hadn’t done anything disruptive—she was just practicing her own moves, not following the usual routines this gym plays with music and freeze games. After kicking her out, my granddaughter started crying and tried to get back inside. I calmed her down and left, then asked to cancel our registration. I spoke to several staff members, but they all backed that instructor’s actions. How does sitting my granddaughter out help her understand anything when she has developmental challenges? Isolation doesn’t teach her or help her learn. This isn’t just a lack of understanding—it’s discrimination against a child with developmental needs. My granddaughter cried several times afterward, and every time she remembers what happened, she gets upset again. I’ve called multiple times seeking empathy or a meeting with a manager but was told to wait until Monday. I’ll see if anyone gets back to me. Children deserve to enjoy their time and be supported, not punished for being different. This gym isn’t about cultivating champions—it’s supposed to be a place for kids to play and grow. Many of their staff don’t seem qualified to teach gymnastics properly, let alone work with kids who learn differently. What my granddaughter experienced today was unfair and damaging, and I hope the gym takes responsibility.
Update: I wanted to provide an update: the call I received unfortunately made the situation worse, as it was more defensive than supportive.
Update: My conversation was recorded, and I never mentioned anyone’s race except for my granddaughter’s. Please review the recording before making any further accusations.

I have been bringing my daughter to The Little Gym Fresno since she was 10 months old. She was a 'late' crawler and walker (crawled at 12 months, walked around 17/18 months). But I fully believe The Little Gym and the amazing teachers like Miss Chloee have helped her with her physical development and her confidence in risk-taking. She completely trusts Miss Chloee and is always willing to try new things with her. I recommend anyone and everyone I know to bring their child here.

Miss Chloe is really awesome and our daughter enjoys her sessions. The staff are a mixed bag and we have had some good and some not so good experiences. The gym does smell a lot and we often do worry about hygiene. But for now we intend to continue here and see how it goes.

Very difficult to cancel, and staff wouldn't work with us on billing issues.
We signed up online for our niece for her birthday, but could not cancel online once her family moved. We were charged for an extra month for a niece who no longer lived in the area.

I've been wanting to put my daughter into gymnastics and decided to give it a shot. She LOVED it! She was excited every time she seen we were arriving. The instructor were very nice, polite and always treated the children fairly. She let everyone who wanted to try the new activity. Never felt like she forced one. BUT I did notice some parents would not pay attention to their children. One child threw a ball at my daughter after she had taken it away from her. The mother did not pay attention to her child. Another child grabbed my daughter and wouldn't let her go. Its a good place with good staff but on that particular class we were assigned parents weren't on top of their children.

Cannot recommend The Little Gym on Sommerville and Perrin enough! The staff is so kind and helpful, and my little one looks forward to class every week.

Being in class each week, really helped him prepare for school since he got to practice following instructions and getting directions in an organized, group-like setting.

He has learned so much in the last couple of years we've been here, and this has been a great way for him to get his energy out!

Also highly recommend the Parent Survival Nights! They're always such a fun theme, and it gives us long enough of a break to catch a movie, go to dinner, or do some other fun date night.

Absolutely love this place! Our little one has been going to classes here for about a year and we could not be happier with the program. The instructors are amazing, highly trained, professional, and so wonderful with the kids. Miss Megan is a rockstar and our LO talks about her all the time outside of class. Our class is always a highlight of the week and it is amazing seeing our LO's skills and confidence improve and develop week to week. There are not enough great things I could say about TLG Fresno and the incredible staff there.

We have been with the little gym since my daughter was 9 months old, she is now 2 and a half years old. This place is incredible. My daughter LOVES going to class each week and has fallen in love with every teacher she has had. It amazes me how every single staff member loves the kids. The activities are always so engaging for the kids and teach them so many skills. We also had my daughter's second birthday here and it was fantastic! Classes are great for parents. Children play in the gym area and parents stay in the waiting area. You can see the children the whole time thanks to the wall to wall windows. Bring a book and relax while the kids play.

We just had our twins birthday party here and were blown away by how great it went! The kids had so much fun!!! The teachers did a great job of balancing structured game time and free time to explore the gym. They were so high energy, sweet, and patient- we could not have asked for a better group. I found the entire staff so easy to work with and they went above and beyond to be helpful and make things so easy on me. We had kids at the party ranging in ages from 1 1/2 to 9 and it was perfect for all of them. I highly recommend the Little Gym to anyone looking for a fun, easy, memorable birthday party!

I've been taking my kids to The Little Gym for a several years and I absolutely love it. They get socialization and interaction with other children, follow the direction of the instructor/teacher, and learn important athletic skills. The instructors are AMAZING and my kids absolutely love them! Like so many parents, I am incredibly protective of my kids and besides their grandparents, I never leave them with anyone. . . .except their Little Gym teachers. Once a month The Little Gym offers a "Parent's Survival Night' where you can drop the kids off for play time and crafts for 3 hours. My husband and I LOVE it. We can drop the kids off and go on a date and feel 100% certain our kids are in great hands! You won't be disappointed!

We love The Little Gym. Our kids (6yrs, 3 yrs and 9m) get so excited the day of their respective classes, they love the fun movements and activities on real gymnastic equipment in a friendly noncompetitive style. Our six year old has been going since she was a "bug" (4 months old). It is not only a fun activity for the kids but also with their whole curriculum it not only works the body but also the mind. :-)
