Liz does an amazing job at helping me recognize what muscles and joints I am over/under utilizing which has made a world of difference in my posture and soreness I used to experience.
I have also taken the exercise classes that are rigorous but focus on using your core instead of your knees and other joints.
The Somatic Movement class is peaceful and a powerful mindfulness experience.

First of all, I was the only person scheduled for the Somatic Unwinding class since there were late cancellations, and many instructors would have cancelled their class with only one client booked. But Liz did not cancel, and I really appreciate that. In other words, I got 1 on 1 instruction from her!

At the start of the class, I had an intention to let go. I came to the class with some attachments, and by the end of the class, I felt a little less attached to the things my mind was grasping onto. The format of the class was one I had never practiced before. I’d taken many yoga and stretching classes for the benefits of feeling calmer through mindful movement. But the type of mindful movement in Liz’s class was different. I wasn’t being told what to do every step of the moment, but I had enough guidance to allow my body to figure out what it wanted to do. And I think that was what made it effective for me. I was challenged to be non-judgmental, pay attention, and to listen. This is easier to do in yoga with the step-by-step guidance. But in Liz’s class, I really had to tune into my body to let it move however my mind needed it to. As I got through the challenge though, that’s when the magic kicked in and the movements felt simple and seamless, and my mind was actually able to get into a quieter place. I really appreciate Liz opening up this new studio, welcoming new clients, and sharing the art of her technique.

The Movement opened up in my neighborhood and answered my dreams for what kind of movement classes my body had been craving. Whether you're looking for strengthening and toning or nervous system soothing, Liz's approach is uniquely grounded in a deep knowing of what bodies need and how they want to be listened to. Liz is bringing a fresh and much needed approach to self care and body awareness to the Long Beach scene.

I have been to five somatic unwinding classes with Liz so far and they have been wonderful. I was a complete stranger to this technique before my first class and I was surprised, at first, how much it helped me let go of stress with seemingly little effort. I even described it to a friend as "Just lying on the floor and moving my limbs around." Over time I understood that somatic movement is a form of meditation, which I appreciate because I've never been able to quiet my mind enough to meditate in the traditional way. Liz is a fantastic instructor. She's intuitive, compassionate, and establishes a safe and comfortable space. I'm looking forward to taking more classes with her.

I have been taking Liz’s somatic classes for the last couple of months and it has been one of the most impactful movement practices I’ve experienced. In my life I have taken dance, yoga,Pilates, barre, strength training gyro and more and this has done something for me that none of those disciplines did.

It’s 45 minutes of that amazing feeling you get when you do that first subconscious morning stretch in bed. It’s like giving yourself a massage and foam rolling (without any pain). Somatic class helps me recover quicker from soreness from other disciplines like barre (Liz’s barre classes are awesome too!)

It’s also really liberating to take a class that places all the focus on how my body FEELS and removes any attention from how my body LOOKS.

Liz is a wonderful instructor. She is warm and genuine. I never feel “watched” in class and yet she seems to always know what’s going on with me. I’m so glad that she opened this studio and that I have been introduced to these classes.

This is a clean, interesting and warm space . I’m enjoying the barre class with Liz. She’s an excellent instructor who focuses on core strength among other things that help to incorporate mind and body wellness.
