This is the first gym that I’ve actually felt comfortable coming to. It can be quite intimidating. I felt welcomed from the first time I’ve set foot in there. I have a few injuries and have always felt self conscious about not being able to keep up. The coaches are very supportive in modifying them to allow my body to gain the strength I need without hurting myself. I’ll definitely be around for a while!

Attended the Rhythm and Burn class. Coach Mike did a great job getting us all involved. The Premise is such a vibe! If you're searching for a new place to try group workouts, this is the place. It always feels like training with close friends here and it's because of the welcoming and friendly environment. The sessions are unique, fun and infused with great music. It's actually part of The Premise's DNA to interweave musicality and self expression to the training programs, which feels like a departure from the big name gyms that feel more transactional, uninspired and overwhelmingly crowded with people.

Coach Mike is a helluva motivator too. The place thrives on the positive energy he gives to the sessions and he also gives knowledge and motivation for your overall health when it comes to day to day life.

I joined the Premise back in August 2024 because of my best friend. Over the pandemic I had gained weight and couldn't seem to get rid of it. The mix of HIIT, cardio, strength training and boxing at this gym has helped me lose 10lbs so far.

Coach Mike has been super supportive, giving knowledge on taking care of injuries and preventing them. He pushes us in each class, changing the format of workouts every few weeks to keep us on our toes. His boxing drills get me every time, and I feel my strength increasing.

Coach Paul focuses on form and function, and my pushups have improved immensely since last August. He makes sure we are doing moves safely and effectively. He asks what we'd like to learn and makes it happen. His workouts may seem easy at a glance but by the end of class you are gassed lol.

I'm so glad to have joined the Premise gym, I've made many new friends and look forward to leveling up even more!

How has The Premise made an impact on my daughters athleticism?

*Physical fitness like Strength and endurance, flexibility and agility, skill development like coordination and balance, technique and strategy, discipline and focus, respect and sportsmanship. Through this sport, she not only builds her athletic foundation but also learns valuable life skills that will benefit her in all aspects of her life.

Has her confidence improved ?

* I absolutely believe it improved her confidence and resilience. I feel by overcoming challenges in kickboxing such as mastering a new technique or sparring with a partner builds confidence, and teachs resilience, valuable traits for any athlete.

Would you recommend The Premise for other kids?

100% I would recommend the premise for kids.
Qualified and experienced instructors are crucial. They should be able to teach techniques safely and help build confidence while ensuring kids understand the importance of discipline and respect in martial arts. Many kids benefit from martial arts classes in terms of building self-discipline, focus, and self-confidence. The coaches understand this and is one of the reasons my kid goes to premise.

So Proud of my younger brother Mike! We have life talks, reminiscent talks, and now at my age a lot of health and fitness talks. I weighed 220lbs this time last year's superbowl. Today I'm weighing in at 185lbs. I live in Sacramento, my brother would always check on my progress. Having a Coach like him to keep me accountable, from intermittent fasting and his meal recommendations and Attending his work out sessiosns in San Jose and also doing his work outs from home. I signed up recently and already got the full on Premise experience. The coaches have a deeper understanding when it comes to forms and workout practices. I’ve worked out with weights for many years, so I wanted to try something else. Premise gym is the answer for me! Really enjoy the HIIT classes ran by Coach Mike P. I haven't done HIIT classes in a few years ever since COVID (got kinda lazy) so I've been trying to get myself back on track. I really enjoy the variety that are in these HIIT classes, and I feel that Coach Mike P really gets involved with his students. There are some days where I'm having difficulties with certain moves due to a strain from bouldering, and he'll be able to assist with a modification and some stretches/exercises to help get me back on track. He's really knowledgeable and listens. I also really like the community / culture of these classes. Highly recommend!

I have been attending Coach Mike’s classes for a while and I can say that it’s a great place to go! He helps with your form and pushes you to go beyond your limits. I started working out with The Premise when they started as an app in 2020. I was so intrigued with the program because it fused my favorite things to do: music + meditation and it was a great way to keep me motivated to do workouts!

Fastforward to now, I am so happy to join again and be able to workout in person with others! I did struggle in the beginning and had a hard time keeping up, but about a month in, I’ve already built more endurance! Mike incorporates drums into his workouts. It’s such a blast to have a unique workout that is catered for us musicians! I do value the community they create which helps keep me motivated and inspired to keep going.
