This is a gym with a personal touch! Natalie is extremely knowledgeable, encourages you to get the most benefit for your efforts, and has a plethora of adjustments up her sleeve to keep it fresh. Her skills allow you to progress with your work out while healing from some small injury. After trying to heal a strained hamstring for over a year, with the exercises she provided it has improved 99%! And after seven years of trying to strengthen and correct the alignment of my knees, the “crunching” is also now noticeably improved, with much thanks to Natalie’s handiwork! Much gratitude!

Natalie is one of the best personal trainers I've ever worked with. She created custom workouts for me based on my goals (improve running endurance, overall muscle tone) and switched things up every couple months so I was never bored with a workout. Saw results right away! The gym is fully stocked with great equipment and has a chill yet super positive and fun vibe! Natalie even put together workouts for me to do after I moved away from OB. She rocks!

Ten years ago I could barely walk due to compressed discs in my back. Three doctors told me I needed back surgery, but I decided to try and fix it with exercise. Natalie designed programs to make my core stronger and improve my flexibility and range of motion. 6 months later, my back pain went away and it hasn't come back! After an gruesome ankle injury while surfing and switching to a desk job I started to gain a lot of weight and getting truly out of shape, the scale and tiredness didn't lie.
So I decided to give Natalie a call.
That was probably the best decision I have made in a very long time. Natalie created a full body workout designed to not only get me back in shape but also focused on all the motions of surfing.
Here I am a year later in the best shape I have been in a very long time and doing some of my best surfing. Natalie is a rockstar and I will be forever grateful.

I like beer. Nectar of the Gods. I like it so much that my 43 year old self was getting a bit round in the mid-section. I was knocking on 200lbs, size 36 waist and my extra-large shirts were getting snug (they must shrink in the wash, right?).
I’ve always belonged to a gym: 24 hour, YMCA, that Robb Field gym, remember Gold’s Gym in the bank building in OB? That one too. In fact, that’s where I met Natalie, the owner of The Private Gym. One thing was for sure, I was NOT going to spend $60 a session for a trainer. After all, I know how to lift a dumbbell and jog for 20 minutes, duh. Well, here I am, after an OB summer of professional beer drinking. Feeling a bit..bloated, I spoke with Natalie at The Private Gym. She had me assess where I was at and where I wanted to go. She gave me a hardcore, low carb diet, a super tough workout and held me accountable. This for less than 2 Sculpin six-packs a session.
Six WEEKS later, I lost 10lbs, two waist sizes and GAINED 8lbs of muscle. Now three months later I’m down 15lbs and gained 15lbs of muscle. I think that means I lost a crap load of fat. That’s a lot of beer weight gone.
I’m interested to see what happens long term. Summer is coming up. There is a tasting room right next to the gym. I have a feeling that Natalie will keep me fit. But I like beer.

Last year I got into a slump, stopped going to the gym, gained 10 unnecessary pounds and was unhappy with the way my clothes fit. A friend of mined told me that she was going to the Private Gym and suggested that I go see Natalie. I stopped in one evening, explained to Natalie what my issues were and after talking with her, decided to join the gym. She put me on a customized personal training routine for 6 weeks. After the first six weeks, I dropped 4 pounds, lost 2 inches off my waistline and lost 2% body fat. Natalie has now change my routine and I can't wait to see what the outcome will be in the next six weeks.

Personal trainer in a semi private environment is what you get here. Natalie knows her business and really takes the time to listen to your goals and needs. She is adept at designing you a program that really works for you as an individual. She is also well versed in nutrition and well pretty much every aspect of healthy living! I lost my targeted 10 pounds in the first 6 weeks of training!!! Personal, affordable, perfect!

Natalie, owner/trainer, is amazing. The only time I am successful in my weight loss, strength building journey is when I am working out here. I have some medical issues and Nat builds my routines taking that into consideration. She is motivating, the gym is always clean, and we have a great time doing our workouts.
