This place has been life-changing. The community is welcoming, inclusive and supportive. The coaches are amazing. They lead with heart. Dogs are allowed. There is so much this gym offers. Worth every penny. Highly recommend dropping in for a free class to see for yourself.

AC is amazing, good people, clean gym, high end equipment. Open 24/7. Can play music on the speaker if you want. Can't ask for more.

The gym has lots of equipment and space. The focus is powerlifting, so there aren’t many machines on cardio or muscle targeting.
The culture is wonderfully inclusive and focuses on health and safety when lifting. Holly and Brian are wonderful coaches and have an excellent team of trainers who are as caring as they are knowledgeable.
The regulars are welcoming and the music is also collaborative. Dog friendly too!
It can get pretty busy and crammed on Thursday classes, but they’re very receptive to feedback. Price range is also on the high end, but the quality is definitely there.

Resilient Strength welcomed me with energy and enthusiasm from Day 1. The gym has a great mix of classes 6 days a week in addition to open gym for individual training 24/7/365. The community is supportive both with love love and tough love, depending on what you need. The coaches Holly and Brian take the time to actively listen to your goals and create customized programming to help you achieve them. They also check in constantly to get feedback from you. I have seen more gains with RS in my 40s than any other program I have tried on my way. Join the Resilient Strength team today - you will love it!

Holly and Brian have truly created a unique gym experience by fostering an exceptional environment equipped with everything you need to succeed. From a wide range of equipment to a user-friendly app that allows you to book classes, reserve gym time, track progress, and connect with the community, they’ve thought of it all. Plus, they offer additional amenities like an on-site chiropractor and personal trainers to support your fitness journey.
At the heart of it all is a focus on respect and community. If these are values you appreciate, I highly recommend stopping by the gym to see for yourself!

I love working out at Resilient!
The coaches are attentive and the classes have taught me a lot about sport form and Olympic weightlifting. I don’t usually like working out at gyms but Resilient is an inclusive gym, and that means inclusive in all the normal ways but also inclusive of all different body types and exercise levels. +1 for Brian and Finn’s classes!

I love this gym and community. Brian and Holly have worked hard to create a safe and fun community. If you have fitness goals, this is the place to be. I just competed in my first weightlifting comp and Holly and Brian made it the most fun and smooth experience for me. I constantly feel supported and cared for, and couldn’t ask for better coaches to help me become a stronger athlete. Not to mention other coaches like Paola, who’s always ready to help. And, an in-house chiro, Finn, who’s super supportive and ready to care for your ailments. And the special mascot, Kilo. I couldn’t ask for a more supportive community!

I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to train with all the coaches at Resilient, and I can say with great earnest, that each one is super dedicated and truly enjoys working there. I lead a pretty active lifestyle and I have not garnered the results I desired prior to my experience at this gym. Brian, Holly, and Paola are sensitive to my needs and have helped to train my body to become the strongest I have ever been. I love the way I feel, and I look forward to spending my time training and connecting with my coaches and folks at the gym every chance I get.
Holly and Brian also speak of gym design from a social perspective, in addition to conforming to the practical constraints that govern a typical gym space — which is refreshing. Resilient is a unique gym experience with a sparkle of magic: palpable synergy builds from the consistent cross-pollination of different age groups and diverse backgrounds when training together in the same class, under the same roof. This is a gym that is designed to encourage living well through care and finding joy from social interactions in passing. Holly and Brian have built a gym and community with an amazing spirit, and I hope this goodness continues to deepen and expand.

The Resilient Strength is a beautiful and bright small community gym. Holly and Brian are the best coaches and trainers I’ve ever had (and I’ve gone to many gyms and fitness across the world). They genuinely care about your wellbeing and success. They also push you, but in a healthy and sustainable way.
The gym has the latest equipment, and even niche weight training equipment you won’t find in more mainstream gyms.
The atmosphere is also inclusive and welcoming! I love this place and the people here are pretty amazing too! 🙌

Hands down the best gym I’ve trained in, ever. The training is rock solid, the coaches genuinely care about each of us, and are constantly tending to the overall community. This group of people is special. Can’t recommend it enough.

This place is incredible. I’ve trained at two gyms before now, and I am never leaving this one now that I’ve found it. This community is extremely special. So warm and welcoming. They supported me through some tricky personal stuff, and made me feel strong and empowered throughout. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

I’be been lifting at Resilient Strength for about a year now. Brian, Holly, and crew have built something really special - in addition to the kitted-out gym, they’re building a supportive community that encourages everyone to be their best. Everyone has a place there - whether you’re moving a ton of weight, or just getting started.

I joined Resilient strength as an experienced lifter (over a decade of time in both crossfit and weightlifting gyms, been an active coach in 3 different Crossfit gyms, and am a certified USAW weightlifting coach.). I needed a place to go that worked in the hours of my life.
I'll start with the PROS (there are some):
1. The gym itself is nice. It's got all the toys and has kilos as well as pounds, which is amazing for folks in the competitive weightlifting world.
2. Brian, one of the owners, is nice and seems to know weightlifting. I've seen him work with young lifters and he does well with them.
3. Safe and secure parking along with a shower (I never used it, but it's nice to have it as an option).
Now for the CONS:
1. There are only a couple classes a week. I tried a couple and determined that the 20-30 minutes of organized static stretching for the 1 hour class was not for me.
2. I was told to maybe not snatch where their dog was since I could hurt the dog, but that was the only available platform. I shouldn’t be responsible for their dog.
3. Brian and Holly cancelled my gym membership very suddenly and unreasonably. One of the weightlifting platforms, made of untreated plywood, was slightly damaged during a regular training session. Two weeks later they texted me to accuse me of causing the damage, and of not cleaning up or reporting it to them. Truthfully, I did not notice any damage, and the pictures they provided of the so-called damage looked to me like typical wear-and-tear you’d expect from a well-used, unfinished lifting platform. Perhaps coincidentally, my gym access code had also been deactivated a week before this. I’m really disappointed Holly and Brian could not have approached this situation with more professionalism. An actual conversation rather than text accusations would have been appreciated.
I've attached the photos of the "damage" I was expected to report, which led to my membership being cancelled immediately.

Brian and Holly are not only the best fitness coaches I know in the bay, but also two of the most genuine people I had the privilege of training with. Their facility is awesome with everything you'd ever need to get strong and fit. You will not be disappointed!

Literally my dream gym - unconditionally supportive community, super knowledgeable and caring coaches, all the racks and platforms you could want, fun classes, excellent equipment, 24 hour reservation system, responsive to the needs of the community, never too crowded ... I have been coming here for a few years now and even though the new location is a bit of a drive from my place it's worth it! I cannot understate how much I love this place

Came here to work out while visiting from out of town and had an excellent experience. If you’re looking for a gym to get your weightlifting session in, it is so awesome that Resilient has reserved spots for Olympic and Powerlifting sessions so you know you’ll have the equipment you need (and you can use the rest of the facility as needed for your workout). Holly and Brian were both there when I came in at 5pm on a Monday and they were very welcoming. The space is cozy but it is clean, organized, and laid out in a logical way. They had a couple classes in session while I was there, and it seems like a very supportive community. The building is populated during the day, but the gym is accessible 24 hrs for your convenience and there is a private parking lot (important for the neighborhood). I would 100% be a regular if I lived in the area.
This is not the gym for you if you prefer a bougie spa vibe (although there is a cute coworking space).
If you’re trying to drop in for a workout, be sure to sign up a day or a few business hours prior so you can ensure access to the building.

I have such a great amount of respect for the place and community that Coaches Holly and Brian have built. Coach Paola also helps create an incredible space where people want to keep showing up for themselves and for their goals. The Resilient Strength is purposeful, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the athletes that enter through the front door, whether they are trying to introduce themselves to the world of strength training, or if they are trying to take their game to the next level. I have trained here for a little less than a year, and my only regret is that I took so long to find this space. I consider myself an aspiring powerlifting competitor. It is deeply reassuring to have personal coaching that will align with my interests, and is actively helping me achieve the dreams and PRs that I want to reach. The amount of growth I have experienced as an athlete in such a short amount of time is beyond my expectations, and I am exceptionally grateful for the ride. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful space with everything you could possibly need for a solid workout. Owners are super accommodating and nice, easy to find and seems like an awesome community - I only stopped in for open gym hours but everyone I encountered was friendly and the equipment was well maintained.

Love this place! Holly is my trainer and she’s been amazing and works with me and always keeps my workouts interesting. It’s also important to note that she helps with someone who’s struggled with eating disorders etc. So love this place!

Brian and Holly have created a wonderful, welcoming, and strong community at The Resilient Strength that only amplifies the quality coaching. They meet you exactly where you’re at and help you meet any goal. I came in with only some powerlifting knowledge, and in a year competed in three powerlifting and weightlifting competitions. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

Hands down the best experience I’ve had in a fitness space.
I’ve been going to Resilient Strength for over three years, and it has all I could ever hope for in a gym, with an amazing community on top of that!
When I went there for the first time, I was incredibly intimidated by gyms in general after a long stretch of inactivity. The owner, Holly, worked with me to build my strength and confidence and the results have been more than I ever hoped for. I’ve also seen other athletes get started in this gym and go on to compete in strength events, with the rest of the gym cheering them on.
There’s all the equipment you could want (and they’re consistently upgrading the equipment and optimizing the use of the space), the community is supportive, inclusive, and fun, the group classes are challenging and rewarding, and the one-on-one training was legitimately life-changing. Holly and Brian have built and maintained an amazing space.
If you’re looking for a gym you’ll genuinely get excited to go to, run by people who care about their athletes’ well-being first and foremost and can work with all fitness levels, this is the space for you.

I ADORE Resilient Strength. It has all the equipment you need plus the owners are continually adding new stuff and upgrading older stuff. The classes are outstanding, they kick your butt in the best way and actually leave you feeling strong, not just tired. And the people! Main trainers Holly and Brian are some of the most kind, helpful and knowledgable trainers I've ever met, and the patrons are all so welcoming and supportive. Such a great environment and quality of exercise.

My partner was unable to find an entrance in the evening and no staff inside would answer the 24 hour phone line so that she could gain entry.
Edit: We we’re fools and didn’t appropriately go through all the onboarding info.
Both my partner and I are looking forward to worshipping at the Temple of Iron together this evening.

Great strength-training gym with a wide variety of equipment + open air (for those still COVID cautious) + fantastic support from Coach Holly & Brian. I have taken in-person classes here and Zoom 1x1 sessions, and I highly recommend both!! Holly and Brian are patient, knowledgeable and make working out enjoyable. Huge bonus that the gym is also dog-friendly so you can get your dog fix in (if needed).

I was visiting SF for a few days and dropped in here. This is an awesome gym!! Great selection of equipment (especially stuff like reverse hypers that are hard to find in a commercial gym), 24 hour access, and a sweet app that lets you reserve time slots so there aren't too many people there at one time. I was most impressed by the owners/coaches though. I got kind responses to all my questions within minutes, over TEXT. I think that should show you what kind of a personal and quality experience you can expect. Oh, and nice stickers.

I found Resilient Strength on Google about 2 months ago and signed up for the open gym membership.
This is an excellent weightlifting gym, with squat racks you can reserve by the hour. There’s a small number of athletes so folks are friendly and say hi to each other.
You can bring your own programming (I pay for a plan on TrainHeroic), or they offer classes 2x / wk.
It’s mostly racks and platforms, with plenty of gear for accessory work. If you’re coming from Crossfit you’ll feel right at home.
The neighborhood can be a little sketchy and they have no showers. But there’s easy parking, and quick access from any part of Oakland.
A smaller front-room is open 24 hours, but the main gym area is usually open between 8a (noon on weekends) and ~6p.

This gym is the best! It offers a great community and everything you need to get in a great workout, whether you’re training on your own or as part of a class. Add the fact that during the day it’s basically an indoor/outdoor space and I don’t know why you’d choose anywhere else. Holly is super knowledgeable and an awesome coach/owner.

I've been going to this gym for about a year. It was the only one open during the pandemic and it really have everything you need. I would workout in the garage portion that stays open 24hrs. Perfect for us introverts! I like that you can schedule your workout time so that the space is not over crowded. I would recommend this space for new gym goers and seasoned vets. For the folks that are new, there are workouts that are given on the app you download once you start your membership. This isn't a commercial gym (for the people that like machines) so I would keep this in mind. The downside is that there is no access to the restroom after about 7pm.
