The Strong DNA is the Best gym in the foothills for people over 40. Programming with purpose that keeps you strong as you age. Ara’s philosophy, and programming for his semi private, and private programs is top notch and individualized for each person’s goals. His group programming is the right mix of strength, conditioning and endurance. I can’t recommend this place enough. I love it here! Great clients and great coaches that truly care.

My favorite weekday mornings are the ones I get up early to attend group classes at The Strong DNA. Ara and his team of coaches are focused, personable, and very encouraging. I’ve always felt too intimidated to do strength training at a gym, but the students here are friendly and diverse in age and ability. Personal training sessions with Ara allow me to hone in on developing strength and endurance—with the added bonus of choosing the workout music. Ara has really changed my life! I started at the gym a year ago and have seen great results. It's been the most consistent I've ever been in my workout routine and he's helped me steadily progress without ever getting injured. I'm on the 3/week semi-private training plan and it's worked great for my schedule. As you build a relationship with Ara he's really good at customizing a plan that's right for your goals. I've realized I'm not a super self-motivated person when it comes to fitness, and for me it's been amazing to trust another person to build my program. I just show up and do the plan. Also that little bit of accountability that comes from someone checking up on you has really helped me stay consistent.

This gym is also very clean and has a very welcoming, judgement free atmosphere. I've always been more self-conscious in gyms, but here nobody cares. It's chill. And it works for all different people -- there are elderly people and young people, people who've been working out a long time or people who are just getting started. I've done plenty of the group classes too and they're progressive so if you're a beginner or you're advanced, you'll still get a lot out of them. Ara isn't like any trainer I've worked with in the past -- he's like, a real person you can actually have a conversation with. That's a nice thing to have when you see someone every morning :).

This gym is great for people who's primary goal is to not get injured, maintain steady progress, and work out in a chill environment.

"I've been a member of The Strong DNA for almost five months, and it's been fantastic.

When I first walked into the gym I noticed immediately how positive the members and trainers were. Not just in the workout routine, but a general attitude toward life. What I’ve discovered here is a real gem of community and positivity that radiates through your day and week.

3 months in, I’ve also happened to gain an incredible amount of strength and lose 40+ lbs. My mobility went from slow and a dragging to up and can do without thinking about it.

The classes are varied and full body without overworking muscles day to day. The semi-private training is perfect to target specific areas of improvement each individual needs while still being fully engaged with the community.

Commit to yourself that you can do anything at any age or health status. Ara and the team can provide you the simple tools to achieve it!

My experience with Strong DNA has been beyond my expectations.

I was able to start feeling results by the first workout. The unique approach to working out helped me feel stronger during sets, something I had not felt before.

Three weeks into my journey with Strong DNA, I experienced a significant improvement in my strength and flexibility. This was evident during a camping trip, where I found lifting and moving our gear easier, had better balance, and could bend more easily. It was a moment of hope and motivation for me.

In 2018 I started to do some research to see if there was a workout regimen that was focused on kettlebells.

Mainly because I wanted more functional strength as a golfer. I learned that the ‘Father of the Kettlebells’ is a guy named Pavel. Naturally Pavel developed a training certification called Strong First. Lucky for me, there was a Strong First certified gym 3 miles from my house- Strong DNA.

I started to visit Ara right before Covid and then of course the shut down prevented me from going more than 6 months. In a short period of time, I noticed my strength went up dramatically and more importantly, my functional strength/stability improved as well.

Post COVID I not only wanted to regain my functional strength, but also wanted to lose some weight so I went back to Strong DNA.

In five months, I’ve lost 25 pounds exceeded any strength thresholds I had in the past and my golf game has improved dramatically because of my functional and rotational strength improvements.

Ara’s programs are great, especially as you age he creates programs that maintain your strength which is critical as you grow older. I strongly endorse Ara and look forward to continuing my routine with him as I approach 50 years of age.

I was looking for a gym that incorporated TRX in its structure, and The Strong DNA came up in my search. I walked into my first class and was immediately greeted by Ara and his assistant who took their time getting to know me and made sure to understand my health needs and any injuries I might have. I quickly realized that everyone in my 6am class knew each other and had built a little community together. With each new strength training exercise, whether kettlebells, sandbags, sit-thrus, TRX, or medicine balls, Ara made sure I understood how to properly use the equipment and perform each exercise. At first, I was very apprehensive about joining The Strong DNA but when I received a prompt and positive response from Ara to an email I sent telling him how out-of-shape I was and how long it's been since I’ve had a routine fitness program, I decided to give it a try     Ara is very welcoming and encouraging, I've never felt uncomfortable considering the majority of people training at the gym are far fitter and stronger than I am.   He tailors his training to your ability level and helps you strive to improve.    Everyone gets his individual attention.  Now after a little more than 2 months, I'm starting to see improvement in my fitness and even enjoying my daily sessions very much.

The Strong DNA led by coach Ara is one of the most effective gyms you can join to improve your body and health all together. Led by a coach with more education than most other gyms/coaches (perhaps even combined) will provide you with results that are not just a temporary reduction in weight which will be regained shortly after. The Strong DNA is the perfect place to go to for athletic training, strength training, and even general fitness. Fitness Coach Ara is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. My favorite thing about this gym is that you can receive one on one training, small group training, and even online virtual training if you cannot make it in person. I've never met a fitness coach who cares so much about his clients and is so good at helping you determine your fitness goals and actually achieving them. 10/10 highly recommend this gym!

I started training with Ara from spring of 2021. Being an endurance athlete (recreational), I have always done cardio but until a year ago, I had barely focused on strength training. I have had many back injuries throughout the years. Last time when I hurt my back, the orthopedic surgeon recommended strengthening my core to avoid future injuries. I started with light weights with the fear of injuring my back again, however, as weeks passed by, I gained strength and was able to lift heavier, and surprisingly, I excelled in my cardio as well.
I would strongly recommend Ara to anyone who is thinking about his/her health. I have learned that strength training is a must for a healthy life and Ara, being so knowledgeable in this field, is the coach that I trust.

I've been working out with Ara from The Strong DNA for 4 years now. I have a few physical limitations and Ara works with me to provide modifications. These modifications are no less than what the rest of the class is doing, it's just giving me the ability to perform the exercise without further injuring myself.
One of my physical limitations is my back. I have very little "cushion" so to speak, between my L4 and L5. During my time with Ara, I have strengthened my core which has had a direct impact on strengthening my back resulting in less back pain. I have had numerous feet surgeries which prevent me from doing certain exercises, but again, I never feel like I am missing out or doing less of a workout. And lastly, I have a torn rotator cuff. And yes, I still can rock the weights, just in a different manner than the rest of the class.
I am much stronger today, as a woman in my mid-50s, than I ever have been and I have learned that strength is important as we age.
If you come to The Strong DNA, you will find a community of all age ranges and a group of strong, supportive and funny individuals. It's a feel-good kind of place. Hope to see you soon!

This is a fantastic gym!! COACH ARA is super nice and take an interest in you no matter what fitness level you’re at. I really like how he gives me tips and tricks to get the most out of every workout. I’ve been going for 4 months and am already seeing a big change in my energy levels and body. It’s great! I feel 10 years younger!

My first experience with THE STRONG DNA and have not been disappointed! I train here about 4-5 times a week and find the consistent positive trainer, awesome music and participants who take class create a perfect workout environment.

It’s a hard workout with happy people! Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about owner and trainer, Ara. Impressed with his knowledge and wisdom, feel safe, seen, and heard during workouts, and appreciate the overall vibe and energy he brings to the sessions. He’s always in “beastmode” and my 45min workout makes me feel similar. The people are friendly and great and I love working out alongside them. Most of the workouts use kettlebells, sandbags or TRX straps. He’s very careful with what the body can handle and making sure your posture is accurate for proper weightlifting.
