I have been to many Gyms but have never really enjoyed or felt like I belonged. I have finally found the Gym that I truly love. The Staff and owner, Oliver are Welcoming, knowledgeable, attentive and caring. I have improved my strength, balance, and fitness. I recently brought my visiting cousin to class and she was amazed that we were able to lift the same weight (She's 22, I'm 64) I have finally found my place and people.

I can’t say enough about the amazing training staff at Thrive Fitness Irvine! I just completed my 6th week of 1:1 training at Thrive. I also got my first “are you losing weight?” comment this week. I don’t see it yet but I guess others do. I’ll take it! I started at Thrive to avoid pills, injury and illness as I get older. I’m in my early 50s. I hadn’t exercised for several years. Oliver and his team have been so kind and supportive. The first couple weeks were tough but now I look forward to my workouts and actually think they’re fun! A special thank you to Kaelen and Chana. You are changing my life, one workout at a time.

THRIVE Training has been one of the most irritating, badgering, and bewildering company's I've ever had the misfortune of being contacted by. I clicked on an Instagram ad once and have been subjected to constant contact despite informing them that I have a personal trainer and am not at all interested in their services.
In the last week I've receive a number of messages, emails, etc. about a "Strong Moms Program" which, as a man, confuses me immensely.
I have blocked this company over and over again and yet somehow continue to receive messaging I did not ask for. Avoid.

This is a wonderful, serene, and inspiring space with genuinely caring trainers. I was just driving by when Oliver asked how I was doing. To "thrive" is one of my goals, but I never dreamed someone would cater to a woman like me who was injured, over 40, and felt completely demoralized by the fitness industry. This place has changed my perspective on my own body and my capacity to be strong. It's so friendly and supportive! I learned here that my body has its own fitness journey, and that consistent progress is key. I went from being sedentary to 3 strength sessions a week... simply a miracle for me and these knees and a hernia. The most I hoped for was motivation to take a casual walk in between working and taking care of my family. This is definitely my selfcare priority this year. Being new at training, I couldn't have asked for a better place. The trainers at Thrive are focused, caring, and patient. They meet you where you are and do not impose unrealistic expectations. For someone like me, it could be intimidating just starting out but these guys made me feel comfortable right away! The vibe is safe, non-judgmental, humorous, and fun! I have worked with Oliver, Sean and Joseph, all of whom I enjoy. My favorite would be the group training classes. Oliver, who happens to be the owner, is so great and really wants to see his clients succeed. He is the trainer for my Dad and has been for 10 years, which says something about Thrive.

I’ve been to my fair share of gyms and fitness training facilities over the years, but none compare to this. The sense of support and inclusivity here is unmatched, making it a true community. The focus on classes is fantastic, and the trainers are truly dedicated to helping everyone succeed, no matter their age or fitness level. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in.

After I had to cancel my membership due to my work/school schedule, I was genuinely touched when Oliver personally reached out to check in on me. THRIVE Training has been a game changer in meeting my fitness goals. Owner (Oliver) and each of his trainers are very knowledgeable and dedicated to helping every person improve their physical fitness no matter what level they are. After years of taking barre classes I was anxious and felt awkward about joining a gym and doing circuit training. But the trainers take their time explaining each movement and making sure every participant knows what to do and how to do it properly. All the trainers have really positive attitudes and energy and make the classes fun! I took three classes my first week and noticed a difference in my body right away and I knew I came to the right place. From the moment you enter their studio doors, everyone makes you feel welcome and at home. THRIVE has a clear mission, well-established culture and great morale. The exercises in the group classes feel specially curated and have proven to be effective. If you want to feel stronger, move better and feel more confident in your body, then THRIVE is your answer!

Update: I’ve been attending mostly group classes and they are challenging and fun- everyone has been welcoming and encouraging. I took a short break from working out last year but getting back into the rhythm has really improved my mental health and I look forward to working out more now.
Master Yoda famously said, "Do or do not, there is no try". At 51, I decided that I have been "trying" for too long- trying NOT to exercise! I was referred to THRIVE from a friend and I keep coming back because of the knowledge and focus each trainer has when we're working together. At THRIVE I feel seen, I feel heard and that helps me feel safe to be myself. Plus the trainers create a fun atmosphere - its a nice way to start my day.
I 'd like to add that everyone is super patience with me- it's only been a few weeks but I am feeling great and my body is getting stronger. I am learning to not hate exercise any more- which is perhaps the biggest W of all.

I highly recommend Oliver Nam as a personal trainer. He was one of the most popular trainers at my high-end gym for many years and now has his own studio, which is spacious and well-equipped. I have had the pleasure of THRIVE training for the last four years since my hip replacement, due to an accident when I lost my stability/balance. My lovely wife Rachel - who has known the proprietor for a quarter of a century - ordered me to train with Oliver and his fabulous team of expert trainers to avoid falls in the future. I have been in training on legs and core twice a week to avoid balance issues with great success - - - important for us guys that are better than seventy who need to avoid age issues!

I found Thrive through a family member who was concerned about my health and had been a topic of conversation for some time. I was able to get connected with Oliver (owner) and we talked about goals and aspirations via phone and met in person to get a feel for everything. There are a few people in this world who I can say are genuine and caring. This applies to the entire staff at Thrive. Constant check up and accountability, accommodating when it comes to modifications for work outs due to past injuries, and monitoring progress made, but also coaching when they think you can do better. In today's world value is everything and as costs rise we sometimes cut out things we feel aren't as important. Health should never be one of those things. And as gar as value goes with the entire team at Thrive, I think this is money well spent. Do yourselves the favor and look into Thrive, you won't be disappointed and the benefits of going are huge. I've been training at Thrive for a few months, doing one-on-one sessions once a week and small group training twice a week, and it's been fantastic! I was a bit nervous at first, but Oliver made me feel comfortable right away. I've already lost 11 pounds and I can get off the ground & in my car so much easier now. The first thing you should know about me is I HATE working out. Like I really detest it. So I’d been on the lookout hunt for the right gym to fit my injury-prone body and not judge me for my couch-loving lifestyle. An ad popped up on Instagram for Thrive and I signed up the minute I met with Oliver at the consultation - the match felt instantaneous. That was three months ago, and now I workout at Thrive 3x a week. And for the first time in my entire life, I don’t dread working out! Not even once! I’m stronger, healthier, and feel so completely supported by the dedicated staff. The sessions go by fast, the music is great, and I get a great workout. It’s the best investment I’ve made for myself!

The best part about classes at Thrive is that they are different on many levels from any other gym. First of all the trainers teach the classes so if you have any issues with your body whether for the day, previous injuries or just wanting to get back in the groove again these small group classes fit for everyone. I was offered 2 free weeks of training and took them up on their generous offer. I love the workouts. They are varied and I didn't get bored! Plus every single member of the staff, Joseph, Courtney and Shannon (in training) were awesome, encouraging, and in tune to what level each individual needs to work at. It feels like you have your own personal trainer, even though there are 6 people in each workout. I can't say enough nice things about this place. And Oliver! Just a fantastic human being, with a vision to what he wants to accomplish for us over 40's! I never thought I'd say this about exercising, but working out at Thrive is something to look forward to!

I have been a member at Thrive Training in Irvine for over 2 years. I would like to share my thoughts and observations.
The owner, Oliver Nam, genuinely spends time getting to know everyone that walks through the front door. He wants to learn what makes the members, (aka Thrive Family) tick so that he can better understand how to support them, help them grow, make them stronger, hand them the tools, inspiration and motivation to lead happier healthier lives. He is incredibly patient and supportive. He loves to bring people together to just have fun, build community and create a real bond amongst the members of Thrive. He strives to foster a community amongst the Thrive Family. He has an infectious smile, laugh and sense of humor.
Members, existing and new, are made to feel welcome, like they belong, like they ARE a member of the family. Let’s face it, walking through the door of a gym can be an intimidating experience; it is part of the Thrive culture that members and prospective members alike are greeted and welcomed as they come through the door. They take the time to introduce you to the people working out. The staff are most kind, patient, understanding, compassionate, empathetic, knowledgeable and interesting. They know how to “read the room” when they are working with someone, when to push a little harder or when to back off a little, all the while doing it in a manner to preserve their dignity, pride and self-confidence.
I share this in a positive tone; they know how to push buttons - but in the best way. They inspire and motivate people to dig deep and discover their internal strength – guiding them to become the best they can be. I know that sounds a little cliché, but it is real in this case. The staff have an infectious sense of humor, wit and laugh. They carefully watch movement and offer suggestions for improvement without leaving you feeling deflated or defeated. They sense what you are truly capable of accomplishing and then gently, (or not), subtly, (or not), move you in that direction. They have a way of guiding you in a direction so that YOU are making the decision for yourself. If you are sore or just not feeling it, they can work with you on a smaller scale – take a moment – and have a healing day.
Thrive also has the added feature of a Physical Therapist that is in the gym a few days a week. He is passionate about helping people who have managed to injure themselves and demonstrate a path to regain movement, mobility, self-confidence and patience with themselves. He loves to meet people and hear their story, their hobbies, their passions and their expectations. He then formulates a plan to get them on the road to a quick and fun recovery. He is also happy to work with people to avoid getting injured in the first place; better movement and balance techniques; better breathing and posture techniques and with all that comes a happier life. That is what he strives to instill in everyone he meets.
Oliver regularly works with the Thrive staff. He challenges them to step out of their comfort zones. Why do I mention this? It keeps the staff fresh, motivated and up to date. He encourages the staff to really listen to the members and translate that into a very personalized, member centric approach. They leave you feeling accomplished and proud of what you have done – be it small baby steps or enormous leaps. They may not take no for an answer - they work with you to convince yourself that you can safely accomplish anything exercise at the gym under their watchful eye.
Bottom line, the Thrive staff and Thrive Family encourages you to sweat, laugh, cry, and/or groan all at the same time – resulting in the most amazing endorphin rush.

I am so thrilled and grateful to have found Thrive! It has been years since I have had any form of regular exercise, even though I’m an active person. After 40 the exercise priorities change, along with what exercises are effective and safe. This team knows exactly what to do, and when something doesn’t feel right they will adjust immediately and tailor to your needs. Beyond that, you are a valued member…everyone knows your name and notices when you are present (helpful for accountability!). It’s also a wonderful community of people with shared goals, all encouraging each other. I highly recommend Thrive…your only regret will be not joining sooner!

Instagram ads…………..I ALWAYS ignore them to avoid getting more ads and spam emails. BUT,….I recently saw a posting for THRIVE FITNESS in Irvine that provides fitness training for people over 40. This is just what I was looking for to restart a reasonable fitness routine to regain strength and confidence. I was so intrigued that I clicked the link to find out more. I’ll admit I was skeptical and didn’t really expect a response. I’m SO HAPPY I saw that post and took a chance! I got a text from Oliver, the ambitious and passionate owner, and we scheduled a “get to know each other” phone call, then a consultation meeting. I just started my workouts a few weeks ago but I am already very impressed with the inspiration and approach to fitness and wellness: no pressure, no contracts. I can feel the positive energy. Oliver and the team are friendly, knowledgeable, encouraging, patient, and supportive. The environment is very personal and non-competitive. The one-on-one training is individualized, not generic. Tried them out with their special offer and loved it! Went to several different sessions that focused on different workouts and enjoyed every one. Was a fun laidback atmosphere but professional and the trainers are very knowledgeable and work with you on form. I do the small group classes but still feels like one on one training. I recently tried Thrive Gym's complimentary two-week trial. I was really impressed with the trainers, who focus on form and teach the right way to exercise to avoid injury and make the most of your workout. The gym is small but cute and has everything you need, and the classes are small groups so the trainers can watch you and correct you. Everyone at Thrive is really nice, and I'm excited to start a membership next week. I'll update this review in a couple of months with more details. The only downside is that the price is a little high, but I think it's worth it for the quality of the trainers and the small class sizes.

Recently I had the chance to sit in a lecture where Oliver came to OCC and talked about the progression of being a personal trainer. He was very knowledgeable about the topic, which prompted me to visit Thrive. Meeting Oliver has made me me want to know more about training and working out there. As I entered the studio it was obvious everyone enjoyed the environment, was motivated, and made each member feel seen as an individual. This gym is not like most gyms. It seems more like a family that cares about your success.

When I first walked into Thrive everyone was so welcoming. Everyone greeted me with a smile and wave something you don't get from other gyms. Oliver and his team make you feel at home. They are very knowledgeable in how you're body moves and works.
When it comes to workouts they don't push you so hard to the point that you can't move the next day. They just push you the right amount to make progress with your exercises. They are also on top you're injuries and making sure you feel comfortable with the exercises. Hands down one of the best gym experiences I've had in OC!

I have to say that I didn’t want to go to Thrive initially but im sure glad I did. I went because my brother in law says nothing but good things about them and insisted that I go. I used to be active but injuries to my knee and ankle stopped me for years. The team at Thrive were professional and they knew what they were doing. They encouraged me and pushed me during the training sessions and I always left feeing better than when I went in. I feel so much more confident in my body thanks to them. They helped me get started and I am forever grateful to then for getting me where I am today

Thrive has an awesome exercise environment. They are super welcoming, friendly, and down to earth. I was skeptical about exercising but, they made it so easy that I wanted to come back for more. I highly recommend Thrive for several reasons. First, I was greeted by everybody that worked there as soon as I walked in. It felt like I walked into a family reunion. Second, all the members who were there seemed like friends. They were talking, laughing and interacting with each other but it wasnt unique to that session because its always like that. Theyve got a real family vibe to the place and its amazing. Third, the training sessions there are great. You can tell they know what theyre doing and they cater to your individual needs. I've been working out at Thrive for 8 months and it's helped me with a dramatic transformation of my health and fitness. I came upon Thrive accidently while shopping and dining in the attractive business & office consortium on Main Street in Irvine, CA. When I walked in the door I was immediately greeted and welcomed into the beautiful private space for fitness goers over 40. I was taken on a brief tour and given some things to take home and read which explained the format of the gym training program and classes. I attended a free personal information session with the owner later that week and he was kind to divulge pricing. Currently I am in my second month working out at Thrive and I am impressed with the knowledge and experience of each trainer. They are professionals at making your workout productive and meaningful. Thrive is different. I have had horrible experiences with workout places in the past. Thrive is such a breath of fresh air! The trainers are focused and VERY knowledgeable. They understand how to train me and avoid injuries. Their attitude is BEYOND amazing!! There is a lot of encouragement and connection with the other people in the small groups. We get lots of special attention so we can get the most out of each workout. I'm starting at couch potato, so I was nervous that they would be relentless, but it was a tough workout, with lots of sweat, but not impossibly difficult. I feel like they met me where I am. The trainers at Thrive have been the most knowledgeable I have ever met. Their holistic approach in improving a person’s quality of life is so refreshing, and it’s very evident when you first walk in. They are different from the personal trainers I’ve had in the past because they have a deeper understanding of kinesiology and the musculoskeletal system. This is also evident in the way they speak to you. They really want you to know “the why” in the exercises they design for you because ultimately, going through the motions is not enough. I feel that this is especially true for individuals who are trying to heal from chronic injuries, like me. The trainers have really spent a great deal of time making sure that I am mindful of my posture and my movements in every exercise that they make me do, and I’m so glad because my pain has decreased tremendously. Lastly, because they take the time to explain the reasons behind the exercises, I find myself implementing what I have learned from them in my daily life even outside of the studio and it’s slowly becoming habit. Thrive is my favorite gym that I have been apart of. They really make you feel welcome and part of a family. Most of the other gyms get really packed and the trainer can’t pay attention to everyone. Thrive makes sure you are doing everything correct for full functional training and exercise. They even help modify some workouts when I had a calf injury. I started having knee pain earlier this year and as my condition worsened over the next 10 months, I decided to replace my tennis shoes & my Super Feet insoles. I could walk for about 30 minutes, but than I would start limping because my knee would start hurting and sometimes it would even make cracking sounds.
My girlfriend discovered Oliver and she raved about her immediate progress and told me he was the best private trainer she had ever had in her life !! That was all I needed to hear because I wanted to be able to walk again without pain or limitations.
My first appointment was a consult with Oliver and he explained to me that he would first focus on my feet !! Ok, I’m telling him it’s my knee that hurts, but he’s telling me I first need a good foundation. He checked out my new tennis shoes & insoles & asked me if I could walk without the Super Feet insoles for a few hours every day, than gradually increase it to several hours.
Oliver gave me a few exercises to do at home to strengthen my feet & toes and he was checking in with me every day via text to ensure I wasn’t in any pain or if I had any questions. Several days after doing my exercises, I decided to try walking without my Super Feet insoles for a few hours. The moment I put my Super Feet insoles back in my tennis shoes, the bottom of my heels & arches hurt, so I had to remove the insoles. Oliver was very excited to hear this news and I was able to return the insoles and it saved me $90.
Second week with Oliver.....I was taking a walk and my knee started to lock up, so I stopped to do a few quadricep stretches but it didn’t fix the problem. Luckily Oliver texted me as I was walking and I described how my knee was hindering my walk. He texted me right back and told me to do the calf stretch. It was one of the first exercises that he gave me on Day One and now I do calf stretches every other day and my knee hasn’t locked up.
Third week with Oliver......he’s working on my stability, mobility & strengthening, which is very challenging for me as I haven’t had a gym membership in over 10 years. I’m so impressed with the results I’ve already achieved with Thrive Training.......Oliver & his staff go above & beyond as they are so dedicated & committed. Thank you Priscilla and Josh for making my exercises and workouts fun. My knee keeps improving and there’s no pain when I walk.

After spending a year away at college our son came home out of shape and in a rut. We reached out to Oliver who had worked with his basketball team during high school. He agreed to take our son under his wing and was confident he could build him back up.
In addition to being his personal trainer, Oliver assumed the role of mentor/life-coach. He pushed our son both physically and emotionally to accept hard work and discipline as part of his daily routine. As challenging as it has been, our son has developed the utmost respect for Oliver and would do anything for him.
It has been over a year of 2x/week workouts with plenty of homework and the results are obvious. His muscle tone is back and his cardio has improved dramatically. Most importantly however are the changes to our son’s lifestyle and attitude. Oliver has recently brought him on as an intern where he completes tasks for Thrive along with working on his resume, applying for better paying jobs, etc. It’s been so valuable for our son to be in this positive, encouraging, goal-oriented environment where he is held accountable for his progress.
I realize our experience doesn’t reflect Thrive’s core business of providing professional fitness to adults over 40. However, it does demonstrate the type of character and commitment to the wellbeing of clients that you will find in Oliver and his team. It’s really something special and our son has benefited greatly from it.
Oliver has an important “big brother” roll in our son’s life but we all consider him family.

I've been working out for years on my own without seeing too many results, other than sheer bulk. With Oliver and Josh I feel like I'm able to target muscle groups and challenge them in ways that I would never think to do on my own and have seen results much quicker. Our workouts are a great mixture of HIIT and lifting. Oliver also knows how to push out extra reps and correct bad posture, which I've struggled with.
