I’ve been a student here at Tom Vo’s Taekwondo for 11 years. The moment I joined, the atmosphere was welcoming and the instructors are legit. They combine a strong focus on discipline, respect, and skill building with a positive, encouraging environment that motivates students at all levels. The classes are well-structured, with clear explanations and lots of personalized attention. I love how they balance physical training with mental focus. I highly recommend this school to anyone looking to get into Taekwondo.

We came across this location one day while shopping. My son was very excited about starting taekwondo. We made an appointment for Monday at 4:45. We arrive there just to be told that “we are closed mondays. We never have appointments on Monday.” Why would a professional business make an appointment on day they are closed? My son arrived so excited to start taekwondo and left sad and very disappointed. That’s not right to get a kids hopes up like that

As a parent, I knew I wanted my son to learn martial arts to gain confidence and focus. After researching local studios, I knew To Vo Tae Kwon Do was the studio for us. They do tremendous contributions and volunteer work for the local community. They are truly invested in building leadership for the next generation. Since joining TVT six months ago, my once shy boy is demonstrating more confidence. He recently volunteered to lead the class in warm ups, which would have been unheard of six months ago. The “homework” assigned to earn their belts reinforce how to be kind and to help others. I can’t say enough great things about TVT.
2024 UPDATE: my son wants to work towards a Master level belt. With this new goal, I knew we would need to step up his training and looked into private lessons to fine tune his technique. Master Juan has been an amazing teacher and mentor. Master Juan gave personalized, invaluable one-on-one advice. Master Juan is a patient teacher who understands how to connect with a young and energetic student. Master Juan shared simple pivots that my son can do to improve his technique, speed, agility and power. Master Juan has also become a mentor by teaching strategies to learn from failures and offering encouragement to build up my son’s confidence. Through these private lessons, My son’s form has improved and his confidence has grown. We are grateful to Master Juan for sharing his knowledge and his continued support.

My daughter has been with Tom Vo’s TKD (TVT) for 4 years. In the beginning, I simply wanted her to learn self-defense. TVT is more than that. TVT doesn’t only teaches my daughter on how to punch & kick, but also helped her build confidence, discipline, leadership, help teaching lower belts, etc… you name it all. Who would think a tiny, little 8 year old girl can lead a whole class on how to do warm up, or poomse?! TVT’s teaching system will definitely make a huge impact on any kids life.

TVT has 4 convenient locations. The school also offers different time slots throughout the day - which they have an app where you can book or cancel your child’s class within a click. The schools are clean and well-maintained, reasonable pricing! Another perk is that all the Masters/Instructors are young, energetic and easy to work with.

They also offer Afterschool program and summer camp. Which makes it super convenient for working parents, like me.

I highly recommend Tom Vo’s Tae Kwon Do Academy to everyone. It’ll make a difference in your child’s life.

The positive impact of Tom Vo Taekwondo extends beyond the studio, seamlessly integrating into my kids' daily lives. The lessons in respect and teamwork have translated into improved social skills, making it easier for them to forge friendships both at school and in various social settings. Additionally, the physical activity involved has contributed to their overall health, fostering a lifestyle of well-being. This holistic approach not only shapes them into physically adept individuals but also into smart, well-rounded, and emotionally resilient young people. Thank you Master Tom Vo. We look forward to the journey to black belt!!

Well, it has been four (4) very fast years since my initial review of Tom Vo's taekwondo and I could not be more proud to be part of the TVT (Tom Vo's Taekwondo) Family. TVT has played a large part in the man that my son has become. He is a respectful, responsible, kind, and caring young man that is always willing to help a person out. I am proud to say that he is now one of the Instructors that is assisting in helping other young boys and girls to become better citizens in our community through taekwondo.

Master Vo makes all of his students EARN their belts and nobody can come in and just "Buy" one. This is why their (student's) belts mean so much to them, as they have literally earned every piece of that belt when they have been promoted. I am so thankful that this is not one of the schools that give out participation awards or do not have winners or losers, as that is not helping our children prepare for life. I wish that I/we could get a raise or promotion at work for just showing up, but life doesn't work that way. TVT not only prepares your child for success but gives them a head start on how to be successful in life (personal & business).

Sure there may be less expensive and/or easier schools around, but if you want your child to be able to become successful and able to protect themselves you will not find a better school than TVT. You'll see that some people think that they are all about money and are extremely expensive, but that is not the case if you look at what your child will get out of this program. We all know that better quality items/products/etc. cost more and that is because there is a higher expense in order to provide the quality that is given to your child. A couple of things that I really appreciate is that TVT offers many class options that are available for the students to attend (much easier for the working parent) and experiences that they will never get at other schools.

In conclusion, if you are even remotely interested in looking into TVT, please do not let a few negative reviews (every company/school has them) prevent you from coming to take a look. It may or may not be the school for you, but please at least take a look as it changed my son's life and it may change your child's life too. I am truly grateful to Master Vo and his school for what they have done for my family.

Tom Vo's Tae Kwon Do is great. Kids come up through this program and end up teaching the classes when they are adults. This is a family run establishment. They work hard and expect their students to do the same. They show respect for each other, and expect the same from their students. There are a few locations, for convenience. We go to the one in Westminster. My daughter has made friends there and intends to stay well past getting her black belt. There are parties, picnics, tournaments, and classes for your student to enjoy, whether they are 4 or 94! Make no mistake, you will work hard; but the results will be worth it.

Great taekwondo school!
I couldn't be happier with everything my kid learns at this school. Master Vo and his great instructors teach our kids how to be better human beings besides martial arts. The tournaments, belt tests and all the fun activities he organizes are amazing and always with the purpose of helping our kids grow physically and mentally. We go to the Fountain Valley location but Master Vo takes care of all 3 schools. (Cypress and Westminster)

I was looking something to help me with my son with discipline and focus because he has those issues at school he gets distracted really easy by the minimum thing then I saw a promotion they had a tom vo's taekwondo on Facebook so I decided to give it a try. We got him the 3 week trial and at the end of the trial he like it and I seen him enjoying the class and he is always happy when I tell him he has his class. He is been here only 4 months and we purchased the 1 year program. I like that they give you options to pay for the program and we were able to do it for my son. Planning to keep him here and to help him with discipline.

We have been going there since 2019 our son was 5 Years old. We actually took him sooner and he was not accepted due to him having problems follow basic instructions. Our son has learned perseverance, self control, integrity, and courtesy and most of all it's ok to win, loose and just have fun. Master Vo is great and really cares about his students. Our son is scared of instructor Amos, not in a bad way but in a way that has really helped our son bstay motivated and accountable. Thank you Tom Vo for your teaching that you have instilled in our son.

I had a pleasure of finding this school through a referal from a friend to the Stanton location with Master Billy Phan. He was an amazing master and took care of the kids. My son would go almost every day since their program allows the kids to go throughout the week for the same price. Most school would only allow you to go certain time and day. TVT allows you to go to all the days within the belt level. He enjoy all the time he would train with his new friends.
TVT has taught my son alot of life skills like you need to put in effort and work to achieve your goals. Like you cant just show up to class and pass to the next belt. You have to remember your forms and principles.
They also teaches the kids to help around the house for them to get achievement stripes. They need to compete in the tournaments to move on to the next level. These tournaments are not like participation tournaments, they compete and there are winners and losers. This allow the kids to understand that in life you just cant just participate or that you are always the best. If you work hard and pratice harder, you can be the best. They teach you how not to bully and also how to defend against bullies. TVT put alot of effort and time in putting the best tournament for all the kids. I see what they go through in securing the place, ticketing, and how to match the kids together on different events.

As your child move along the path of leveling up, you will see how much they will evolve into a better more discipline child. They are more confident when speaking to a group of people. They can also lead a group of kids in training. TVT give their black belt student a chance to participate in teaching classes. This allow these kids to be understand how to mentor younger or new students. Overall, TVT surely help my child become a more confident child and is ready for the outside world. He will learn respect , charity, understanding to other. He will be confident when speaking and leading.

We met Master Vo initially at a local community Easter Event last year and then later at a Christmas community event in Dec 2021. My husband and I decided to sign our daughter up for the trial in Jan 2022 that they offered at the time cuz why not? We were looking for an extracurricular activity for our daughter at the time due to COVID restrictions and they provided a safe outdoor environment for the students. Our daughter initially did not want to join it for various valid reasons, but we encouraged her to try and see if she would like it. She absolutely loved the first class that she attended and she is going to level up to brown belt this June 2022! We have seen so much progress in her self growth including her leadership skills, public speaking, and most of all confidence! This school is so awesome because of the social activities that Master Vo coordinates including picnics (with balloon fights during the summer), multicultural event, and nerf wars for kids to enjoy while parents have date nights just to name a couple. Overall, we are so pleased with the level of quality and value that Master Vo's school provides for our daughter. She is thriving here! I highly recommend TVT if you are looking for a great Martial Arts school that focuses on quality!

Our family has been part of TVT for a little over 4 years - this is one of the best decisions I've made for my girls and... yes, for myself, too! There’s nothing like hardships that allows to see someone’s true colors…. I have to say that in these unprecedented COVID times Master Vo – the owner of the business – along with TVT masters and instructors delivered above and beyond of what could’ve been expected. Master Vo showed a great example to our kids how to never give up, how to look for solutions, not excuses, and how to show grace, kindness, flexibility and support in times of struggle. Just a few examples… when everything shut down in spring of 2020, Master Vo quickly transitioned to Facebook and Zoom classes – even our black belt camps didn’t stop, but continued on in virtual model. Master Vo personally sent thank you cards to all students to encourage them keep up the good work. Running weekly raffles for dinner / breakfast delivery to support local small businesses. All TVT families (not only students, but families!) received TVT masks to prepare for re-opening. When testing time came (still in shutdown mode), depending on each family preference, Master Vo personally tested students (with all COVID precautions) in the drivers, backyards, parks, via Zoom etc. etc. etc. Everyone who continued to training got tested and received new belts. Despite serious hardships that Master Vo personally had to go through, he never stopped thinking about kids and quickly adopted and adjusted to ever changing regulations. We’re practicing – outside, in masks and wearing face shields when situation calls for it. We just have finished our fall tournament – COVID format, but still tournament that allowed kiddos to test themselves in competitive environment. Haven’t seen a single athletic organization doing anything close to what TVT have been doing all this time for our children. (I haven’t mentioned many other impressive actions as this could turn into a good size article!) If you want to find a martial arts school where adults have your child’s best interests at heart; where Masters and instructors truly love what they do and take pride in helping our new generation grow into confident, mature, disciplined, responsible and respectful adults - I couldn’t recommend anything better than TVT Academy. Very honored to be part of our TVT family!

Master Tom Vo carries himself in a professional manner at all times, and his employees follow his lead. Master Tom Vo personally has gone out of his way to come to our home to bring us a punching bag and mat, to help my son break his boards to be eligible to test AND to administer belt testing in our driveway during this pandemic. Master Vo genuinely cares about his students and their families, and his support shows! We are so thankful for Master Vo and his support, and thankful to be a part of Master Vo's Taekwondo martial arts program!

Huge thank you to Tom Vo’s for making my sons 6th birthday party so awesome! The communication leading up to the party and day of was made it so easy to be able to just show up and enjoy celebrating. The party package included pizza, gift bags, invitations, and thank you cards. My son got to cut his cake with a samarai sword and then break a board in front of all his friends. The two instructors kept 18 kids ages 3-6 entertained for the full 1.5 hrs. Highly recommend them for your next party!

I have put my boys in Tom Vo‘s taekwondo class. I like that I put my kids in karate because it teaches them not to be timid and to stick up for themselves but not be a bully And when they’re getting teased to defend themselves without hurting anybody. I like the skills that they provide for my kids like good manners, respect your elders, finish what you started and especially they teach your kids to be leaders. They have great instructors like Tom vo, Juan, Kim and the other instructors in the other classes.

Our son has just enrolled at Tom Vo's FV. We had stopped by a little over 6 months ago when our son had just turned 4 and was offered a free trail class so he could be evaluated. After the evaluation it was advised for us to come back in 6 months or so since he was not able at that time to listen or even follow basic instructions...he ran all over the place and pretty much did what ever he wanted. In that time we had been to other Taekwondo establishments that were ready to sign our son up on the spot and we also observed other children in those classes running a little wild, needless to say we were not impressed. We appreciated the Master's advice at Tom Vo's to wait and as parents we knew that was the right decision. During the time of the initial evaluation my husband and I were quite impressed with the instructors and Masters and how the class was ran and how they worked with the students. Discipline and respect is top notch and instilled in their students. As a Mom it was so wonderful to see the instructor dismiss for a water break and allow the ladies to go first while the boys remained they all stated ladies go first becaise they are gentlemen. We waited a little over 6 months as we knew Tom Vo's was where we wanted our son to go and brought him back again. We had another evaluation done and at this time our son was able to follow along with what was asked. We stared off with the 2 week trial and have already noticed improvement with his adherence to the program. My son even opens the door for me and will hold his arm out and say after you Momma when we are out or when we leave the house and come home. The best part is he loves it. The look of pride on his face when we presented him with his new gear was heartwarming. Our son struggles with focus and confidence and we have seen Tom Vo's prides itself on building those traits in their students. The instructors and Masters are amazing with him. When it came time to sign him up Master Vo sat with us and took the time to listen to us and offered his suggestions. We appreciated his honesty and the passion he has for what he does. We were in no way pressured to sign up or felt we were being upsold at all. He wanted us to feel confident in what he could do with our son and said to let him show us the improvements. We are very excited our son is now part of the Tom Vo family and are looking forward to the journey of excellence and leadership we are all on together. Thank you Tom Vo!!!

The first time I found out about Tom Vo's Taekwondo was through college when I moved into the area. Coming from my background, I was the person who usually doesn't speak out and always found myself in the corner or at home alone. However, that changed when I decided that I should try something out in college while I had the time.

During the first few weeks the class, I already knew that the aura I received from the students, instructors, and masters are very warm and welcoming. The instructors and masters wanted to get to know us more like what is our names and a random fact about ourselves and so on. As a white belt in the class, I didn't know much of the curriculum and it was hard to keep up at times. However, the peers and instructors helped me out a little more to help me get back to pace. With that, I realized that although every individual is on their own track towards their own goals, there was no such thing as leaving one behind, especially in this class. I believe that not only that it would help lower belts learn, but also higher belts in maintaining and strengthening their knowledge and skills. I also was able to get back on pace!

With my intention to try it out and hopefully improve my overall flexibility (I couldn't touch my toes or even kick above the waist at this time), TVT helped me achieve my initial goal (as of now, I can touch and hold my toes and kick above head level). As far as my first belt testing went, I really had a great time. There was a lot of energy at the test which was at Long Beach. It was the time when all the masters tested with all the color belts for the next rank and I got to see the amazing strength and skill from each and every one.

After my first quarter with TVT, summer kicked in and I decided to train more at their Fountain Valley location. The environment between in college and at their studio was different. It felt like a faster pace and it was always full of great energy. It was a class of all ages learning the same material. It was honestly fun for all ages as we sometimes finish the day off with fun games like four corners or dodgeball. At the time there, I got to meet every master and the master's master and not only got to meet but also became friends with. It was not long until I realized that the journey doesn't stop here. With all the positive energy from the TVT family and all the skills, knowledge, and discipline that I have learned, I will continue my pursuit towards black belt excellence and achieve my goals as a leader.

I first started TVT a year ago at UCI and was honestly the best decision I could have ever made. It has become a place where I can grow not only as a student but as a person overall. I have gained strength, knowledge, and friendship from our masters, instructors, and classmates. Taekwondo became my motivator and was one of the first things I started to look forward to in a long time. It gave me time to get away from the stresses of school and work and clear my head while in class training.
Most importantly I made amazing friends and connections with everyone not only in the classes at UCI but the studio with our masters and instructors that make you feel most welcomed and other students. It is more than just learning Taekwondo, it allows you to become apart of a family that is supportive, understanding, and willing to work with you. I am currently a purple belt and now on track to pursuing my black belt in my second year joining the program. I will definitely continue to train with them after I have achieved this goal.

I've been with TVT for a bit over a year and it had been one of the most positive experiences I could have asked for. Tom Vo's Taekwondo is absolutely PHENOMENAL. Even those words don't begin to describe the transformative experience the children have at Tom Vo's Taekwondo in Fountain Valley.

There's something powerful when you see children who are 6, 8, 12 years old emitting so much confidence, respect, and positive energy.

Tom Vo's Taekwondo is more than kicking and punching--which I can ensure you they're definitely experts in their craft--but better yet they help your child grow into becoming the best person they can be in their character, health, and mentality.

These are our undeniably our next generation of role models and leaders and it is amazing to be witnessing it all here.

You're in excellent hands with the family that's been cultivated at Tom Vo's Taekwondo. The staff truly care about the children, and there's always lots of laughter but they also get to work and help build discipline and perseverance in your child.

Whether you want your child to get some exercise or gain confidence while learning how to defend themselves, they got you covered.

Your child will sweat and love doing it so much because they're having tons of fun doing kicking drills or footwork drills.

Your child will have peers and role models that'll encourage them to challenge themselves and cultivate an inner strength that'll last a life time.

If you're a parent, with full confidence, I highly recommend visiting Tom Vo's Taekwondo for your child.

It's a life-transforming experience for not only your child but you as well. It'll be an amazing experience when you see just how much your child has progressed and grown as a person.

My 5 year old and recently 4 year old have been going to Tom Vo's TKD for approximately 2 months now. At first, I thought to wait half a year before writing this review, but I woke up this morning compelled to put down my thoughts. This place totally took me by surprise.

First off, I can't compare Tom Vo's with other TKD places for this was the first one I visited. This review is based exclusively on my own expectations, and what I observe of the instructors during the many sessions.

The instructors I mostly observe are Instructor Ricardo, Thang and Juan.
In short... the instructors are good... very good.

They are stern, yet patient.
They have high expectations, yet are forgiving.
They correct, encourage, and mentor the students.

My 4 year old is the youngest in the class. If he's not the youngest, he's by far the smallest. I have 2 very active boys (one exceptionally stubborn, and both are the "class-clowny" type) who drive me absolutely nutso on any given day. However, upon watching the instructors manage them in class, I am left speechless. The instructors are exceptionally patient... and I have a soft-spot for young adults who take the time to mentor kids.

Master Vo keeps everyone in check - when he's around, everyone is on their toes. Instructor Juan acts tough but he's actually a teddy bear. He's informative and knowledgeable. Instructor Thang is the jokester of the crew - he likes to make the kids laugh. He's refreshingly mild-tempered, and I would have to say is the most patient of the bunch. Instructor Ricardo is stern... but with a nice smile. Actually, Instructor Ricardo in particular is rather amazing to watch. Anyone knows, or could guess, that one must have a lot of patience and perseverance to work with kids in a positive manner. Instructor Ricardo is an exceptional teacher. He is articulate, very clear in his directions and expectations, and speaks in a way to get kids to understand. And he's only 20 years old. That, my friends... is a gift. The junior of the crew is Devin. I see him helping out my kids a lot - another good role model.

All of the instructors have high expectations and it is obvious that they are committed to providing the students the tools in reaching their goals. The instructors give 110% and expect the same from their students. Tom Vo's TKD's main emphasis seems to be about continual self-improvement - about reaching one's full potential - within TKD martial arts and otherwise. I really appreciate that kind of commitment and dedication.

I just asked my kids what they like about TKD. My oldest said he likes to get his stripes on his belt (a token-reward system). The youngest said he likes running. I have never had to convince them to go - TKD is developing a discipline in my kids that would have been difficult to achieve alone.

Now, I have only one question for the instructors there... so, do you baby sit?

Overall excellent school with top notch instructors. The school promotes fitness, discipline, and skill while having fun! Having trained in three different schools in the past, training under Master Vo and Grandmaster Vo has been my best overall experience and I hope to continue train under them for years to come. Just awesome!

Its been 12 years since I REALLY practiced martial arts. I've been to a couple other schools but it didn't really bring me back until I found TVT. The facility is spacious and clean. The instructors are very accommodating and patient but will train you hard! I forgot how much I loved TKD until now. The schedule here is very flexible especially with a crazy work schedule. Best decision of the year to join!

I love this place. Grand Master Vo and Master Vo Jr. taught me not just about being good at martial arts, but also about respect, hard work, and success in life. The place is great for all ages. Every day after class, I felt EXHAUSTED, but stronger every day. The Vo's have an excellent understanding of how to train; they motivate you to push your physical limits and I'd say more importantly push your willpower and mental strength to succeed. It's not just about being a black belt, it's about being a better human being. I highly recommend trying the class out and getting to know the awesome instructors and students there!

Tom Vo's Taekwondo is one of the best martial arts academies you can attend! Grandmaster Tom Vo and Master Tom Vo Jr. are two names that anyone in the Taekwondo sport knows worldwide. These two both genuinely care about every student and wants everyone to be successful.

I have been attending Tom Vo's Taekwondo ever since I was a little kid, and I have learned more than just a martial arts -- I have learned to be a leader. This school prides itself on building future leaders -- in addition to producing top-notch black belts. Not only am I proud to call myself a black belt, I am honored to say that I am a better person and leader thanks to this studio.

I have trained at several different TKD schools and was one of the best at my last dojang before joining Tom Vo's TKD. Tom Vo's TKD standards is a class above the rest. Not only does he teaches anti-bully he teaches character enrichment to help better every child. They go above and beyond.

My sister and I have loved training here and wished we started here sooner.

I earned my black belt from Tom Vo's Taekwondo. It took years of practice but it was all worth it, because in the end I knew that I had actually *earned* the belt. The only reason I stopped practicing was to start a family. By the time I was in my second trimester, I figured it was time to take a break from taekwondo.

Fast forward several years, and now my son is training at Tom Vo's Taekwondo. I wasn't sure how well he would take to taekwondo at first since he has more of a mellow personality. Would taekwondo be too aggressive or intimidating of a sport for a preschooler? Would he go for a couple weeks and then be done with it? So many questions floated around in my mind. Well, we've been with the program for six months now and he absolutely loves it! His self-confidence has improved, he's made new friends, exercises regularly, learns new things each week, and has the self-discipline to practice at home. How many adults can say the same?

Grandmaster Vo, Master Vo, and all of the instructors are so knowledgeable and giving. They are dedicated to their students and to the greater community. When I mention to friends or acquaintances that my son is taking taekwondo, they often ask me how I chose the school, if I shopped around, etc. After all, there are many martial arts studios out there. I invariably tell them that: a) I used to train there, so I was already familiar with the place, and b) if you want your kids to just learn taekwondo, send them anywhere. But if you want them to also learn important life skills, develop a strong sense of community, and truly take pride in their accomplishments, then Tom Vo's Taekwondo is the place for you.

Like all Asian parents, you want the best for your child, especially getting them out to do something active and that will educate them as well. I gave them a choice between sports or martial arts and they chose martial arts. Not knowing where to go, a friend of mine referred me to Tom Vo's Taekwondo. She said he was the best.

When I walked in, my o my, i can see why she said that. The place was very organized. All the kids had their gear on. Master Vo immediately introduced himself and showed us around. He broke it down to us about the importance of self defense and being active. I can tell he really cares about what he does. Now knowing his history of competition and coming from a reputable marital arts family, this is his passion.

If you want someone who will teach your kids the best, I would definitely go with Master Tom Vo. He is excellent and will be worth every penny.

Joining Tom Vo's Taekwondo was one of the best decision's I have made for my children. Not only do my children learn the art of Taekwondo but they also learn discipline in their academic studies and to give back to their community. Master Vo and all the Instructor's are great role model's. They care for each student and want to see them succeed not only at Taekwondo but also in their academic studies to help prepare them for the challenges of adult life. Each student is treated like family from the moment they walk in the door. Even as a parent watching class I feel as though I am part of their Taekwondo family. After a few short month's there has been a dramatic change in my son and daughter.

My son was the first to join Tom Vo Taekwondo. After a few weeks of joining, I see a difference with his attitude. He is more polite to other and more confident with himself. Myself and daughter decided to join after seeing the difference with my son. My daughter is a very shy person and wouldn't do anything without me. After a couple of months, she is starting break out of her shyness. As for myself, it's a great way to work out. I've lost about 12 lb so far after a few months. I highly recommend Tom Vo Taekwondo.

Master Vo is a great instructor for kids and adults alike. He teaches discipline, hard work, and persistence, all during a fun and challenging class. As long as you go to class, Master Vo will help you get better every day you're there. I've always been terrible at sports, but the reason why I excel in Taekwondo is because they didn't kick me out! So I kept going to class, and before I knew it, I got my black belt!! Master Vo and his instructors are great for that :) I highly recommend them!!

I am very impressed with Tom Vo's Taekwondo Academy. I have two kids, a boy and a girl, 7 and 11, and we recently moved and were looking for something to keep the kids active. We got involved initially through Master Tom Vo's anti-bullying classes that he teaches at Courreges and various other local schools. Once my kids started, they can't get enough of it. Its great exercise and high-energy practice. Tom Vo has an excellent staff of well-trained, kid-friendly instructors that incorporate character building and discipline into the core of their martial arts training. My kids want to go 7 days-a-week and can, because the schedule of practice is frequent and flexible. One of the best perks, is having a birthday party there. Its inexpensive and the staff brings pizza and sodas and will run the whole party for you while you sit back and snap photos of the fun. They are also flexible to incorporate any party themes/games that you want to include. Definitely a fun, safe environment environment for the kids, and best of all, they are learning self'-defense and staying fit.

I am the very proud father of a 3 year old white belt and a 5 year old yellow belt at Tom Vo's Taekwondo. The differences in my kids are noticable and awesome. They are much more respectful, they are more confident, they are all around happier, because they get exercise, they can see they are improving everyday, and like any 3 and 5 year old's dream, they get to break boards! I myself am also currently a yellow belt as well, I am also down over 20 pounds since I started with Tom Vo's Acedemy. We live in the Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area with literaly 3 Martial Arts studios within 2 blocks from our house. My wife and I happily drive them 20 minutes away to Fountain Valley because of Tom Vo's child developing structure. The kids have to earn everything they get, both inside the Dojo and out, just like in life. They have to complete Acts of Discipline and Acts of Kindness in order to receive stripes, and they need to earn enough stripes to even test to get to the next belt. So with each stripe, they gain pride and confidence in themselves. Like in life, you earn what you get and I am so happy that we found Tom Vo's Taekwondo because it developes this habit in my kids. Discipline, hard word, respect, and goal oriented thinking is what makes a successful person, and that's what is taught at Tom Vo's TaeKwondo. This is taught through each of the very patient, very talented, very capable, and all around awesome Instructors at the Dojo and through Master Tom Vo himself. I look forward to each session because I know I am going to 1.Get a great workout 2. Learn something and progress. 3. Share an experience and create great memories with my entire family. Tom Vo's Taekwondo is like a tight nit family, and as the kids grow, and the memories are made, and work is put in, it creates a very special atmosphere that my entire family looks forward to each and every session. Thank you Master Tom and all the instructors for all that you are, and all that you do.

I am very amazed that there is a wonderful Tae Kwon Do martial art schooling out there. Martial art Tom Vo Taekwondo is amazing adventure that I had encounter. Not only does it teach kicking and punching, it teaches self-defense, discipline, respect, and many more wonderful things that any parents would love to see in their children. I have two kids and enrolled both of them in the program. I had and have seen a tremendous changed in my children's attitudes and behaviors. They would tell me many great words and do many great things since the class. For example, they would tell me that they love me on a daily basis, grateful that they have a parent that love, protect, nurture, shelter, and provide necessities for them. It has been a huge improvement to my children's behaviors. In all, this schooling helps my kids to be better people and to always do things without asking. I had search for a long time for a great martial art schooling and I finally found the perfect one. I would highly recommend any parent(s) to give Tom Vo Taekwondo schooling trial out. Once you tried it out, I know that you would definitely signup. I did. By the way, i also enroll in the class, myself. Love the school and would not change for anything else.

I joined with my 5 year old and we haven't looked back. It's a great environment for anyone. If your a parent like me look no further. This place is your new home away from home. I get to learn new skills, and get back in top shape. At age 42 I have lost 15lbs, and I feel great. I was very impressed on how they help motivate our kids and they give the kids something to aspire to. This school is more than just martial arts. You get Grand Master Tom Vo and his son Master Tom Vo along with their experianced instructors that help create excellent life goals, and they really help you as parents create a better more rounded, confident and out going child. Come in and see them and talk to Master Tom Vo. This is a wonderful and fun martial arts studio. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Tom Vo's Taekwondo has been very welcoming. Grandmaster has high expectations for each of his students and he'll help you reach those expectations so long you're willing to try. He says his goal for each student is black belt and you know once you receive a black belt from him you deserve it because reaching that level is no easy task.

I started Taekwondo at another studio and can say Tom Vo's teaching methods are a lot more involved. Not only will Grandmaster help you but Master Tom Vo Jr and many other instructors are there to assist you. I treat Tom Vo's Taekwondo as a workout because it is a workout. It can help you lose weight or gain muscle depending on what you're looking for.

When I was young I took several martial arts but nothing like this place. This place not just teaches punches and kicks. This place want the children to show respect and have the proper manner. They definitely welcome you into their family on the first day since they know how difficult for the young kids to adjust in the new environment.

Teachers are excellent for all ages. I have observe a few times I see that the teachers are not there for obligation because they are very enthusiastic and gun ho when it comes to teaching. I give a thumbs up for everything!!
