I am so pleased with my experience at TOA and my Trainer, Will! The facility is clean, the music is not too loud, and the instruction provided by the staff is excellent. I am definitely recommending TOA to all my friends.

TOA has been the best investment I have done for myself in years. After speaking with John Thomas the owner of TOA, I started working out with Willie as my trainer.
Training Older Adults is specific to your needs. Some of us have disabilities or injuries and have given up. Don't give up! I'm working out 2 times a week and for 45 minutes . My energy has increased tremendously and my balance is improving.
It is wonderful to go and workout with a trainer who is there to support you and help you achieve.
Thank you Willie and John!
Give them a try

I had been looking for a gym for about a year, most where to far, very expensive and even though it's a gym I had no clue what to do when I got in there so would have to get a personal trainer on top of monthly membership.
TOA was the answer for me financially and physical location is a plus.
I have been with TOA for approximately 3months now and the benefits are shown to me on a daily basis. The daily pains are gone, depression and anxiety issues are more manageable, due to the sense of community.
Staff is very friendly and truly want us to be better at what we can do.
To be able to get up and down my sister's steep, narrow stairs without the fear of falling has motivated me to keep it up. I think of it more as physical therapy than exercising to keep me mobile with more stability.

My primary physician recommended TOA to help me build muscle mass and increase my bone density. My name is Kathy and I’m 61 years old. I am recovering from an inner ear surgery where I experience a great deal of imbalance. I met John who oversees this facility along with the Folsom facility. John spent a lot of time taking down my history so he could customize a workout plan for me. He set me up with my personal trainer Luca, who oversees my exercises and works alongside me during my 45 minute session. Luca is attentive, compassionate and knowledgeable to my specific needs so as to quickly switch out an exercise if it aggravates an issue. I go twice a week and it’s the best membership I’ve ever invested in. I am sore in all the right places and feeling stronger every week. I recommend TOA to anyone desiring personal training with a customized workout plan to the issues you experience and goals you want to achieve. THANK YOU TOA!!!

I joined TOA (Training the Older Adult) 8 weeks ago and have been participating in the sessions 3 days a week. At 71 and a grandmother to 5 grandchildren under the age of 6, I wanted to improve the strength in my legs, improve my core muscles while working on balance. I noticed a decline in all these areas over the last several years.
I have been very pleased with the improvement i am experiencing since joining. I now find it easier to get off the floor when playing with the kids. My arm and leg muscles are more toned and I have more energy. The exercises change every week and Luca, an excellent trainer, is present making sure we are performing the exercises correctly thereby eliminating any potential injury. I look forward to each session knowing that these 45 minute sessions will only benefit me and give me the functional strength I need to perform my daily activities.

My husband and I recently joined TOA in Shingle Springs. We are both so excited to get back in shape and have been so very pleased with the personal workout program John has created for us. John and Luca both are so helpful and professional. This is exactly what we both needed. If you’ve been considering joining, I recommend TOA 100 percent.

My name is Jennifer West and I’ve been working out at Training the Older Adult in Shingle Springs and I want to say I really enjoy the gym and the personalized training. For so long I’ve been wanting to find a gym that could guide my workout and help me get stronger and more agile without aggravating my aches and pains. It’s been 2 months and I already see a difference!
It’s been Great!

I have been with Training the Older Adult in Shingle Springs for almost 3 months. I appreciated the initial consult with John Thomas, Owner and Trainer, where he answered all my questions. During my initial sessions with John, he accommodated my lack of ability and understanding with examples and adjustments, as needed, due to pain. In my opinion, there is definitely a difference in working out now in my 60s versus 10 or 20 years ago.
Thank you, John!!!
