I have been a member of Tribe Strength and Fitness since August 2022. I walked in not knowing what to expect. I’ve only ever worked out at gyms that have cardio machines and dumbbells. The concept of an organized class with an attentive coach was foreign to me. I had never even touched a barbell before TSF. As a result, I had never seen results in my fitness. The coaches really take the time to consider your personal fitness level and your goals. They are able to challenge you in ways you didn’t think were achievable. They spend the time with you to be sure you understand the movements and give you cues and prompts so you feel confident during the workout. Since 2022, I’ve lost weight, gained muscle, run faster, have more endurance and actually enjoy working out. The TSF community is friendly, welcoming, encouraging, and of course, very fit! I highly recommend dropping in to see what TSF is all about. You can expect a really challenging workout, great coaches, good music, clean facilities, and a positive vibe.

I’ve been going to Tribe Strength for five months now (after 2-3 years of not exercising). I’m way stronger and fitter! The coaches are wonderful people, each bringing unique expertise to the tribe (you learn about CrossFit competitions, benchmark workouts, history of exercise movements, techniques, fitness theory, and so much more). The classes are a great balance of challenge and camaraderie - you get support and motivation from all skill levels. The workouts are intense but rewarding, and the schedule is convenient with morning, daytime, evening, and weekend options. Love it!

What can I say TSF has grown to be my home away from home. My husband and I wanted to find more than just a gym as we’ve been there done that all across the bay for several years. We were in search of a place where we could get a good workout but also become stronger and the best version of ourselves.
We started with TSF on Class Pass not knowing what to expect, as being a bit intimidated by it being a CrossFit focused gym. I’ve been to CrossFit gyms in SF in the past and haven’t felt comfortable or welcomed but I will say TSF changed my (our) minds. From the first time walking through the door you got the sense of community, camaraderie, and everyone was so welcoming. Don’t get me wrong, the workouts are hard and make you question your life choices (j/k), but if you are looking for something easy this isn’t it. Of course, the coaches will work with you and not leave you stranded and will work at your pace. You will work hard and not regret it!
What can I say, my husband and I loved our experiences at Tribe and made it our permanent home. As mentioned previously, we found our home away from home.
So if you want a gym that’s more than just a gym look no further and check out TSF! ❤️

My wife and I found TSF on class pass. We starting dropping in and found all the coaches and members to be so supportive, welcoming and inclusive. A real close knit community. We were drawn to their vibe and energy. Felt like friends and family. We joined and have not been disappointed. It's been a journey of you get out of it what you put into it. Tribe Strength & Fitness is hands down the best gym I’ve ever been a part of. The coaches are incredible — not just knowledgeable, but genuinely supportive and invested in your progress. They push you when you need it, help you modify when you need to, and always make sure you’re moving safely and effectively. The workouts are tough, but also super customizable so you can push yourself at your own pace.
What really sets Tribe apart, though, is the community. The other members are welcoming, encouraging, and bring such a positive vibe to every class. Whether you’re brand new or have been training for years, you’ll feel like you belong from day one.

I’ve been doing CrossFit since 2013 and have tried four different gyms over the years, and I have to say—TSF is hands down the most community-oriented gym I’ve been to. It’s family-owned, and you can really feel that personal touch.
The owners, Brian and Jane, are awesome. They’re not just professional and knowledgeable coaches—they’re also super energetic and always put together workouts that are well-rounded and challenging (in a good way). What really makes TSF stand out is how much they care about building a community. They encourage members to hang out, chat, and connect both during workouts and outside the gym too.
The workouts are varied, fun, and never boring. The coaches are upbeat, supportive, and know how to push you without making it feel overwhelming. They mix things up with partner workouts, games, and interactive classes, which keeps the vibe fresh and fun.

Been going to Tribe for a year now and I can honestly say I’m the strongest I’ve ever been. I love that the workouts are different every day. They are always challenging, designed to push you and test your limits, but still scalable and manageable for all fitness levels. I started going to Tribe Strength and Fitness 6 months ago and I couldn't be happier and luckier !
Last summer, when I decided to start my fitness routine, I searched about various local gyms in Pleasanton and explored their programs, schedules and also to get the feel of the place and people. Eventually to my good fortune, I ended up at Tribe.
Coach Jane was very quick to respond to my text messages and sounded very knowledgeable and encouraging. She told me she or Coach Brian will be there at the class and they are looking forward to help me explore the gym and the programs/ classes they have. I showed up for the 5:30 pm class met Coach Brian. It was an Instructor led class and needless to say, the class was very intense! After the 1 hour long class, I got to chat with Coach Brian for another 30-40 minutes and got all my questions answered very patiently by him. He even suggested that I should look around and check out other places before I commit to their gym, which was exactly the opposite of what I had heard at previous 9 gyms! (They all claimed they were the best and how I should just join them then and there!)
Next day my whole body was sore and I could barely walk, but I still tied my shoes and drove for another class. That day had a different set of workout. Even though there are various people in the class, the coach pay full attention to all. I loved that they helped me do everything the 'right' way. At Tribe, one is expected to focus on their own capacity and compete with their own previous personal records and not with other folks in the class. I knew, I had found 'my' gym !
The coaches are very supportive, encouraging, and are always gently coaxing us to better ourselves everyday. There are many regulars who participate in the classes with equal camaraderie. It feels like a family now. We celebrate birthdays WODs and many other special events which brings us all together and we bond better.
If you are looking for a very supportive, fun, challenging, encouraging place to workout and meet your physical goals, do try Tribe Strength and Fitness, you will not be disappointed! You will find a family away from family who will cheer you on everyday, no matter if you are a beginner or a pro !

Tribe Strength & Conditioning is a wonderful gym and an even better community. I strongly recommend the gym to anyone looking to improve or maintain their fitness. The coaching is personal, and the programming scales to all skill levels.
In particular, I want to thank Jane and Ricky. They are both excellent coaches. Jane, one of the owners and highly experienced, provides clear and helpful instruction, and Ricky brings great energy to every session.
The gym itself is well-equipped, clean, and a nice space to train. Sunset shines through open garage doors, making evening classes that much more special.
I am moving from the area, but I will be sure to find time to visit when I am back in town. Thank you Tribe. If you’re reading this review, and wondering whether you should sign up, do it. It’s awesome.

TSF - More Than Just a Gym!
I spent 2 yrs at Tribe when I was living in Pleasanton. The community here is great - everyone pushes each other, teases each other, and somehow, we all keep coming back for more. The coaches are kind (until they program those brutal workouts), creative, and always keep things interesting with intense CrossFit-style movements and lifts. I've made friends for life, built some serious strength (and maybe a few new aches), and I know I'll be back when I am in town again!

The coaches are friendly and safety-focused with classes small enough to actually spend time correcting the form of each participant and always encourage to push your limits. Workouts here are never boring as they change it every single day and includes all forms of workouts, I have gotten much stronger and had significant results since joining. When my previous Crossfit gym closed many of us followed to Tribe at the recommendation of our coach. The atmosphere is very family oriented, comfortable and there is a strong emphasis on team work. The workouts are challenging (which is good) with a combination of weightlifting and cardio. The coaches are very positive and push you to be stronger in a safe environment. I was looking for a personal trainer who could help me jumpstart my fitness journey. I found Tribe Strength & Fitness on yelp; I read the reviews and their philosophy and decided to reach out regarding personal training sessions. I started personal training sessions with Coach Jane towards the end of December 2024. She is absolutely AMAZING!!!! She helped me get back to normal functionality/mobility and increased my strength and endurance. I am so grateful I found her. I live in Hayward but made the drive up to Pleasanton as her method of coaching, making sure I have proper form, ensuring I didn't get injured, and supporting me and pushing me to become my best was absolutely worth it. She really goes out of her way to understand your personal goals and helps change workouts as you make progress. I highly recommend her as she is able to create sessions for beginners all the way to those who do competitive fitness activities! Her depth of knowledge and experience is amazing and extremely versatile.
The facility itself is pretty cool and has a vibration machine which helps with post workout soreness. They also have a massage chair, sauna, cold plunge, in-body scan, and various oils for post workout recovery. They have nice motivational quotes and pictures around the gym.
All the other Coaches and members I met were very friendly and hard working as well. Great environment and support system. So grateful I met Coach Jane and the Tribe team. Thank you for helping me kickstart my personal fitness journey!

Love my Tribe !! I have been part of TSF for the past 2 years and from day one I have enjoyed being with the coaches and the team. The Tribe worksout with you, talks with you and has fun with you. I’ve been going to TSF for 11 years and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. I walked in to the place to stay healthy and that was my only goal. Over the years, I’ve got lot more than that! Not only that I became fitter, I’ve gained muscles, lost body fat, increased my stamina/endurance. When I first started, I couldn’t even run 200 meters, without having to take a break and being consistent helped run full marathon! This is just one of the many examples of what the programming and coaching of TSF has done for me and many others. The experience at TSF is truly life changing. It is home away from home. Environment is super friendly, always welcome the newcomers and Classpass members with warm greetings and coaches AND all the members make the newcomers feel as one of their own. Coaches are always attentive to your fitness level and encourage you to push the limits, but at the same time, they make sure that you don’t sacrifice on your form of the technique.
I always look forward to start my day by working out in the mornings with likeminded, positive members. It gets my day going in the right direction.
All the coaches are exceptional and they help you modify the workouts to fit your needs or limitations. There are lots of group events to bring the community together, monthly challenges, competitions, social events and much more! TSF has by far been one of the best gyms I have worked out at. The coaches and the community of fellow athletes creates a very fun and comfortable environment. It has allowed me to be motivated and have pushed much more than I could have by myself. Seeing how much I enjoy going to TSF, my wife who has not worked out much before, has joined the gym and she has been enjoying great support and encouragement from everyone. Outstanding gym with a family vibe!
I’ve been going to this gym for almost a year and a half now. My wife started going here a year before I started. She basically begged me, which turned to consistent reminders of how awesome this gym is. Finally I caved and fell in love with it.
Backstory, I tried CrossFit when it first started years back, I didn’t like it. Maybe I didn’t try it long enough?
When I started going here, it took about a few months for me to really like it. I have a strong power lifting background. That didn’t mean diddly squat when it comes to this type of beating. I spent the first few weeks on the floor laid out before the workout ended. My cardio needed some work. I’ve never been a fan of cardio. Now my cardio is the best it has ever been! My resting heart rate is high 40’s to low 50’s! That’s crazy! My Apple Watch showed a down trend since I started. I’m 45 now and never seen numbers like that. And it happened fast!
I got ripped from these workouts, now my wife chases me more around the house, and sometimes outside the house.
If you’re looking for a judgement free zone where you get encouragement and an a$$ kicking, this is where you need to be. If you happen to sign up, I’ll be sure to high five you and make sure you’re giving all you got. No, they didn’t pay me to make this review, this review is long overdue.

This has been one of my favorite gyms for HITT CrossFit like workouts! All around fitness aspects Inc weightlifting cardio and gymnastics combined! This team is very supportive, works hard and plays hard. They’re a tight knit community of people who socialize have fitness competitions, potlucks, hikes & yoga. Offering Personal Fitness Training (love the coaches!) nutritional Support & best Recover practices . My PR Best Fitness Feet's Have Happened Here! Wished I knew about this gym a lot sooner! I was super happy I found Tribe Strength and Fitness, and super sad when I had to leave because I had to relocate to another part of the Bay Area. But I love my Tribe family so much that I drop in occasionally on the weekends to workout with them.
FACILITY:
The facility is top notch. Lots of space and they have all of the equipment you need for your workouts. They also have showers, an InBody Body composition analyzer, aaaaand a badass recovery room (cold plunge, foam rollers, massage chairs, massage guns, sauna, etc).
COACHES:
All of the coaches are excellent! They explain the workouts clearly and they really focus on the details (big and small) to ensure you are doing the lifts, movements correctly and of course safely. They help you along the way by pointing out specific things they see so you can make the necessary adjustments to improve your form/technique, be more efficient, and/or to avoid injury. I could tell that they’ve all been well-trained to teach the right way. Coaches Brian, Jane, Haylie, Jason, Kristian, Kulika, Ricky . . . you all ROCK!
WORKOUTS/WODs:
The workouts are challenging, has great variety, and fun, which were exactly what I was looking for in my health and fitness journey. The WODs here have been excellently programmed to keep you on your toes and makes you look forward to doing them. You will never get bored working out here, that is for sure. Most importantly, anyone can do them because you can scale and adjust the workouts to make it work for you according to your needs. So whether you are a beginner or an experienced athlete, you will get the best workout here.
COMMUNITY:
Tribe is definitely a very welcoming community. New members are welcomed with open arms (I know I was when I first started). Coaches and members are very supportive and most everyone from all class times know each other since we all eventually bump into each other during certain gym events. Speaking of which, they organize fun social events, as well as participating in efforts to help out the local community. You will definitely have that feeling of “family” here.

Tribe has been everything that I have been looking for in a gym since the day I happened to walk in the door. Thoughtfully programmed workouts that push you to your limit, and challenge you to go further. Coaches who are well trained, disciplined, and have a knack for reading the room to know what their athletes need. The coaches really take the time to understand you, and your abilities, thus knowing when to present a modification, or add another plate. The coaches refuse to underestimate what you can do in a workout. This is also the most friendly, supportive, community based gym that I could even imagine. After a long stressful day at work, I look forward to going to TSF! Not only are the workouts such good stress relievers, but just seeing our awesome coaches and fellow athletes there on a regular basis completes my week! My wife and I have joined Tribe Strength & Fitness(TSF) little over a year ago and have been impressed by the incredible experience it offers. I've been a member of Tribe Strength and Fitness (TSF) for about 17 months, and it has been a real game-changer for my fitness journey!
The programming has a great blend of strength and metabolic conditioning, which for me helps build my strength and much needed cardio endurance that I was missing. But the best part is when you’re in the classes, you'll have a fantastic coach guiding you through the workout preparation. You'll also feel the supportive spirit of the Ohana, with fellow Tribe members and coaches by your side, cheering you on, challenging you, and keeping you motivated every step of the way!
I find the recovery room to be highly beneficial for refocusing my mind and body, and healing sore muscles during the week. I regularly use the massage chairs, foam rollers, and have recently added the cold plunge to my routine!
Saturday workouts are usually team-based, and I find it a great way to get that final push to close the week strong. This past Saturday, TSF held a Day vs. Night Throwdown, and it was indeed! You could feel the vibrant TSF community energy as everyone rallied to support each other during the three challenging workout events. There was a final event to crown the champion in Day vs. Night with the 6 top finishers on each crew (3 men + 3 women), and it didn’t disappoint. As a team we needed to strategize together on how to power through and finish the 17 stations the fastest. In case you’re wondering, the race was close with multiple lead changes throughout, I was fortunate to be part of the victorious Night crew! Overall, another fantastic, enjoyable, and challenging TSF community workout event!

Long Review :) - What I feel about this place and why I recommend anyone to join this place.
1. Class Structure - Organized and Time conscious
Personally I have been a regular for the past 1 year and there was not even an instance of a late start of the class or Coaches starting late. Coaches value your time and its mutual -
2. Daily Programming - Detailed and well structured
Tribe takes pride in its programming - Definitely one of its kind. Hardly any repetition and there are periodic strength test to measure your growth. Workouts will challenge you and results will follow ( personal experience )
3. Coaches are approachable and encouraging, always have a smiling face to help / assist you . They always provide a modified version if you struggle or have injury. Every Coach is amazing and qualified
4. Tribe - Everyone lives by the core value - Its a family and you are treated like one. "Ohana" - Entire tribe lives by this concept - as One Family
5. Every one is warm and welcoming - You always feel at home and comfortable. There are athletes who would cheer for you to finish the workout

One of the most amazing, challenging and motivating fitness centers i have ever been part of. Fitness instructors call each other coaches and they indeed behave like ones. Very good looking and talanted team. Can't wait for my next training tomorrow.
