My daughters were part of the gymnastics program which I LOVE. The main issue I’ve come to notice is with my niece who just graduated high school and used to teach in the dance program. My concern is mainly with Miss Jay who mistreats many of these employees (CHILDREN) who are still in high school and teaching the prek/grade school dance classes. My niece says she was yelled at for not “doing her job” when she was actively helping the children with costumes during one of the summer recitals. She was also yelled at and threatened with termination for not showing up to teach when she had informed staff that she had a VERY contagious illness. So parents please be aware that somebody with a communicable illness, the flu, mono, strep, etc may very well be teaching your very young children. She was expected to come in despite being ill and potentially passing germs to the students (not to mention the family members who stay to watch), which I personally find unacceptable. My niece also told me of how a fellow employee had broken her foot and been yelled at for not being quick enough with the students during a Christmas show. All I hear is how poorly these employees are treated. I’m now aware that the dance program is in many ways very separate from the gymnastics program so I hope the young people teaching the gymnastics classes aren’t treated this poorly as well. However, hearing of how the young people teaching in the dance program were treated by staff was enough for me to want to pull my daughters out of the gymnastics program. If trick’s wants to support staff/leaders who are going to treat young people that way then I won’t have any part, which is a shame because my two littles enjoy the gymnastics program.

Our daughter has been going to tricks since she was 2 years old, she has done gymnastics and dance. She has loved every class and teacher.
Our youngest daughter will start toddler gym soon :)
This is a great place for children to learn, socialize with other kids and have fun! (While also getting rid of some energy!!)
All the teachers have been so kind and engaging. We definitely look forward to coming here every week!

This will be long so bear with me.
Background :: I was a competitive coach in gymnastics - particularly girls Junior Olympic program for 13 years. I taught at three highly competitive programs (that have produced literal Olympic gymnasts) and personally have coached multiple state champions on multiple different events. When it comes to gymnastics, it's one of the very few realms where I actually know what I'm talking about and what I'm looking at. I have sent multiple kids to college on full ride gymnastics scholarships. If you have ever watched college gymnastics you have seen gymnasts I have helped produce.
Review:
Tricks Folsom is very clean and very friendly. It's well lit and a pleasant place to go to. The normal smell of feet is not present in this gym - its faint but if you walk into another gym it will be much worse.
Their pre-school program here is legendary. Their teachers are all extremely enthusiastic and are trained to a MUCH higher degree than other recreational programs.
Even though I spent the large majority of my career coaching team/competitive, and team coaches typically never coach recreational kids, I started as a recreational coach and know. There are A LOT of recreational coaches at A LOT of other gyms who simply don't want to be there. TRICKS Folsom has none of those coaches. Usually at competitive gyms only the team coaches are actually enjoying their jobs and enjoy being in the facility. That is not so here. In fact, the recreational coaches here seem legitimately happy to be here - which is very important for the quality of instruction and the amount of enjoyment your son or daughter will experience here.
The gymnastics is basic but taught well. Progressions are safe and well thought out. The program is not stagnate and does not fixate oddly on certain progressions like other programs do. For example other programs will have emphasis on things that are not as important while skipping critical skills (In gymnastics the handstand is by far the most important skill as it is done on literally every event, lesser gyms will not correctly balance their curriculum)
This location has a dance program which I have no experience with so I will not comment on it but the kids in there look to be having fun.
But wait there's more. They have a HEATED POOL where my son takes lessons in. My wife, who competed in nationals for swim as a teen for the UK, loves the program and says nothing but great things about it. She gives the seal of approval. We hired a personal instructor to come to our house and teach our son how to swim during the summer months when our pool is an acceptable temperature. When it is winter we looked for a heated pool to have him continue his lessons. We found tricks and were originally just going to stay for the winter but.....few years later we're still here.
Even though our son knew how to swim, we enrolled him in TRICKS Folsom to keep his skills up. Hes had Ava who is great and he currently has Jeanette. He will be joining competitive swim this coming year thanks to the skills he has learned and kept sharp through Trick's swim program. He's basically a fish - my condolences to your son if he is competing vs. mine in a swim meet.
All jokes aside....
Gymnastics is hard. Its scientifically proven to be the most difficult sport on earth. Not only the physical side of it but the mental. This sport is MUCH TOO DIFFICULT for a child to succeed in UNLESS they actually want to do it. Unless THEY make the choice to do it. TRICKS hires the right coaches who makes kids love coming to gymnastics. Without that pure, true love of the sport, no matter how talented, a child will not succeed. Winning in gymnastics starts with loving the sport. Loving the sport starts here at Tricks Folsom. Sign up and don't look back. Your kids will thank you later.
He does 70 pushups in the vid but I had to trim it. Skills he learned while at tricks. I cant post a video of him swimming or doing other stuff because random kids in background etc.

Our family has been going to Tricks Folsom for over four years now. We have attended classes in gymnastics, dance, swimming and TAG. Our kiddos love the programs and have enjoyed their teachers tremendously! Currently they have Ms. Sophie for Samurai TAG and she is so patient with them, yet challenges them to improve on a consistent basis. Our youngest two are getting ready to start classes after the new year. Thank you TRICKS!

My daughter has been going to the Folsom Tricks for 2 1/2 years now and loves it! She’s had amazing teachers starting with Ms. Katie in the toddler class who isn’t there anymore (my daughter still talks about her), then we moved onto Ms. Juliana for the 3 year old class, and now she is with Ms. Alli who has been AMAZING for my daughter. Ms. Alli is kind, encouraging, and enthusiastic which helps focus my daughter who can be easily distracted by the other classes going on around her. Thank you to all of the teachers, especially Ms Alli :)

Miss McKenzie is an incredible swim coach! She has the perfect balance of patience, encouragement, and skill that makes learning to swim both fun and effective. She takes the time to really understand each swimmer’s strengths and areas for improvement, and her teaching style builds confidence in and out of the water. My daughter loves her so much and she trusts only her, she doesn’t want to go to any other coaches.
If you’re a beginner or you have a little child, Miss McKenzie is the kind of coach who inspires trust, hard work, and a love for swimming. Highly recommended!

We didn’t go for three weeks due to other things. We had no sickness those three weeks the first week back we get sick. Every week my child has been in gymnastics class she gets sick. Kids come sick still. It is not even worth an hour of play for my kid to be miserable for a week of sickness every other week. The three weeks we took off we didn’t have any sickness.

This place is a Godsend for our children. The structure builds confidence and obviously benefits of physical activity for children are immeasurable. We were overjoyed to find Tricks after moving to Folsom from the Southeast for my work. The instructors here are top notch and we cannot thank you all enough. I’ve had my kids at Tricks for about 4 years now doing gymnastics, dance, and swim and I am very pleased with our experience here. It’s a great place for kids, especially the under 5 crowd. We’ve had some fantastic coaches and teachers that my kids have absolutely adored.
I’d say my favorite aspect of Tricks is their customer service and willingness to accommodate our needs. Whenever I call or visit the front desk I am always greeted with a smile or friendly voice, which goes a long way for me. They are the only place we’ve been to that has had such a flexible and understanding make-up policy - I know I’m getting my money’s worth no matter what. I also appreciate that Tricks offers multi-class and sibling discounts... that is so helpful to families with multiple kids! I also am grateful there are many classes going on at the same time so I can have both my kids go to class on one day instead of having to drive there multiple times a week. If you’re a busy mom of busy toddlers, this is the place to be!

We are so happy with swim teachers but the reception staff is really not welcome. I had put in a wait list for a particular teacher it's almost for 2 months. Today I get the email saying call as spot is open. When I call I get to know they have put wait list on wrong teacher. So I am again on waitlist. I am happy the way actual classes happen but I am not at all comfortable the way reception staff communicate, they are very rude.

Stay away! Sadly it’s just another business that seems more focused on getting new members and T-shirts than caring for and treating their current members with respect. We’ve been loyal members for sometime but are so disappointed after not receiving any follow-up for several months on 2 complaints, and after resubmitting my complaints 3x!!! - 1) a teacher acting very inappropriately in a class towards my son (that staff is still employed there and having contact with children when he should not!), and 2) my husband was essentially told to go home or buy a second uniform just so my son could attend his class. Even when we ended our membership due to such poor treatment from the Tricks staff, we were never asked why we were leaving nor were we invited back, what poor customer service! Tricks - if you have grown so profitable to the point that members are now disposable, and rude, perverted staff members are the face of your company, then it’s time to question your motives. If selling T-shirt’s is more important than accommodating families who pay for your classes and buy your uniforms then you need to re-evaluate your rules (is this the military or a family friendly kids gym? If you’re the Military then at least have some loaner shirts around for families with the occasional mishap! What happened to caring about your members?). If keeping your staff members in their posts is more important than keeping our kids safe then you need to re-evaluate your priorities!

This place is TERRIBLE!! We signed up at the open house because we wanted the same class as her sister. They told us we would be. Then, after the first class, they moved her sister because she was older (by only 9 months).
I had 4 months of swim lessons, then after 2 months, my child graduated from the minnows class but they had no dolphin class available for her. They had one class available for slightly older kids with the same skill but they would not let her in. They put her on the waiting list and kept her in the minnows class. She was doing the same thing for 4 months. Didn’t progress much.
Then, when she finished, we tried to schedule her 3 makeup classes, while we were on vacation, and they said since we were finished and not “enrolled” or paying anymore, we couldn’t use the makeups. One of those makeups was because the teacher was absent and my 3 yr old would not participate with a stranger. They would not work with me and I was unable to use 3 classes, that’s almost a whole month!!! They are a huge RIP OFF!!

My painfully shy 3 year old who typically hates people LOVES her teacher and her class. My special needs 4 year old is accepted and loved for who he is, and our 1 year old thinks her class is pretty much the best thing ever.
