We love twisters!! Our daughter went from not knowing how to do a cartwheel to doing backbends. She is so confident in her gymnastics abilities.

Twisted Gymnastics has been a fantastic experience for my son and me! He loves their Kids’ Night Out program, which happens once a month. It’s so convenient—I can drop him off at 4:30 and pick him up at 7:30, knowing he’s having tons of fun.

We’ve also signed him up for regular classes, and I really appreciate how flexible they are. When my kid missed a class, they gave us a token to make it up at another time, which is such a great system. But you only get one token a month. I also checked in with front desk to switch my enrollment of half day camp to kid's night out due to conflict scheduling . Which he has no problem to let me do so . I really appreciate their flexibility.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and the owner is wonderful—they clearly care about creating a welcoming environment for both kids and parents.

I’ve had such a great experience here that I’ve already recommended their Kids’ Night Out program to many of my friends. If you’re looking for a fun, flexible, and family-friendly place, Twisted Gymnastics might be the great place for you :) I enjoy my little break too

We're so happy to have Ms. Grace as our new instructor! The kids absolutely love her. She's incredibly passionate about teaching, and my son had an amazing time in her classes! All the instructors are so nice in this place. I am really happy :D

We spent 9mo here with my daughter working hard and qualifying for the Xcel bronze team to learn that the team wasn't going to happen because there weren't enough students.

We continue to wait patiently for 3 more months only to realize slowly that there was no way up and that my daughter was now being asked to coach little kids with absolutely no focus on her growth.

Ultimately it was my mistake in realizing late that her last 3 months were an absolute waste of time and that she wasn't going anywhere.

If you go here, keep an eye on what's going on, else it might be a total waste of time if your child is serious.

Edit: since the owner guy won't let go, I am attaching the relevant email with names/emails redacted. Happy to unredact if necessary. And if there's really a balance, I was never notified, feel free to send the bill. I will presume that this is a barren lie if I don't get a bill!

Worst experience ever!

I enrolled my daughter in a month-long class, but due to their system malfunction, her name wasn't on the class list. While she waited in line, the coach and owner, Allen, made no effort to resolve the issue. Instead, he began the class with the other kids, leaving my daughter standing there, embarrassed and helpless. She cried, asking us for help. After we figured out it was their system's fault, Allen did nothing—no apology, no effort to invite our still-upset daughter back to class.

We stayed to comfort her and eventually got her ready for class again. But when we sent her back, Allen ignored her once more, leaving her alone on the sidelines! This was devastating for her confidence and motivation.

Adding insult to injury, Allen coldly informed us that parents aren’t usually allowed to stay on the floor during class. Seriously? If this is how you treat a child in front of her parents, I can’t imagine what happens when we're not around. This felt like blatant neglect and bullying.

To all parents considering signing up, think twice. Our children deserve caring coaches who foster their confidence, not cold, unempathetic behavior like this.

I am deeply saddened to write this review as a parent of a special needs child who looked forward to participating in Twisters Gym's special needs gymnastics class. Our experience, which began with high hopes, has unfortunately led us to withdraw from the program and question its suitability and sensitivity towards children with unique challenges.

From the outset, we were impressed with the promise of a supportive and adaptive environment for children like my son, Brandon. However, our journey was marked by a series of disappointments, culminating in an incident that not only left my child distressed but also highlighted a significant gap in the program's ability to accommodate the diverse needs of its participants.

The lack of patience and flexibility during a class, critical components for any special needs program, was disheartening. Even more troubling was the response (or lack thereof) to our concerns. Despite multiple attempts to communicate the impact of this incident on my son and our family, our concerns were met with silence and inaction. This indifference has left us feeling undervalued and overlooked, a sentiment no family should experience in a setting designed to uplift and support special needs children.

Moreover, the decision to inactivate the class without a clear plan for addressing these issues or providing alternatives for affected families shows a disregard for the continuity and stability that is vital for our children's development and well-being.

While I acknowledge the prompt refund for unused classes, this gesture does not compensate for the emotional and psychological toll on my son. A program's success should not be measured solely by its ability to manage administrative tasks but by its commitment to creating an inclusive, understanding, and adaptive environment for all participants.

It is with a heavy heart that I must advise other families of special needs children to carefully consider whether Twisters Gym's current special needs gymnastics program aligns with the values and support they seek for their loved ones. Our children deserve spaces where they are not just accommodated but celebrated for their unique strengths and abilities. Unfortunately, based on our experience, it seems Twisters Gym has significant room for improvement in this regard.

If you want to save time, I’d recommend avoiding Twitter. Communicating with the owner is extremely challenging. After coach Joanna left, things changed a lot. I used to recommend this gym to all my friends, but no I won’t do it anymore.
We’ve switched to a more friendly and communicative gym.

See below is how the owner reply.

Title: Exceptional Gymnastics Experience at Twisters

I wholeheartedly recommend Twisters Gymnastics! My daughter has been involved in gymnastics since the age of 4, and her journey took a remarkable turn when she joined the Twisters team at the age of 11. Under the expert guidance of Erica and Alan, the passion for the sport was reignited in her.

The emphasis on safety and the well-being of the girls is truly commendable. Erica and Allan's expertise is evident in every aspect of the program. They not only cultivate skill and technique but also foster a sense of community and lasting friendships among the girls. It's heartwarming to see the camaraderie that extends beyond the gym, lasting even after graduation.

Twisters Gymnastics is more than just a training ground; it's a nurturing environment that instills a love for gymnastics while prioritizing the overall development and happiness of each gymnast. I am grateful for the positive impact Twisters has had on my daughter's gymnastics journey, and I highly recommend it to any parent seeking a supportive and enriching gymnastics experience for their child.

We had very negative experience with the new office director and the owner. Our daughter has been part of the Tiny Twisters program for 1.5 years. This class put kids as little as 15 months and as old as 4 years all together, and requires parents’ participation.

Our daughter has consistently been a high performer, and the coaches who taught her always asked her to demonstrate various postures to her classmates due to her mastery of those skills. After receiving a high score in her Apr-23 exam, former coach suggested I should consider moving her to the next level, since my daughter already mastered all skills required at her current level.

Following former coach's departure, I spoke with the new director to inquire about the criteria for moving kids up and sought advice to help transition my daughter to the next level. The director clarified that levels are skill-based (not age-based) and suggested reducing my participation and support during class. Since then, I have informed her coaches that I would maintain low participation in class, and my daughter, who has no issues following instructions, receives little to no support from me.

In her Oct-23 exam, her coaches immediately informed me after class that my daughter passed all skill tests and was ready to move up. They assured me that the director would contact me in a few days to confirm the leveling up. I even confirmed with 1 of the coaches again that my daughter got moved up, and I discussed with the coach about new class selections.

After waiting for almost a week without any updates from the director, I reached out to her via email. To my surprise, the director stated that my daughter couldn't move up, citing as "It is a big jump for some kiddos to go from lots of support to total independence". This was surprising the director had never coached my daughter and had no knowledge of her performance, plus my participation has always been zero to low during class.

After expressing my concerns via email, I received no response from the director until my daughter's next class. During that class, I raised the issue with the owner, who suggested having my daughter try the next level's class on the spot. The new coach confirmed that my daughter performed well and was ready for the next level. The owner promptly updated my daughter's level to the next level of class in the system. Additionally, during that class, my daughter's former 2 coaches revealed that the director had been the one preventing her from moving up, asserting that the director thought her age of 3.5 was the issue as she had not yet reached the age of 3.75.

Surprisingly again, the director emailed me after a few days, stating that she needed more observations of my daughter and wanted to assess her personally. Without any communication, she unilaterally moved my daughter from the upper-level class to the lower level in the system, which we found unprofessional.

I emailed back to the director and the owner, presenting the facts and evidence and urging them to cross-validate with the 3 coaches. Unfortunately, the owner perceived me as a troublemaker and said “he was doing me a favor”. He refused to acknowledge any miscommunication from the director and wrote to me “you’ve consistently pushed to disregard our professional assessment and the coaches have disregarded it to appease you. We haven’t heard an apology from you.”

In light of this, we decided to end the conversation and requested a refund. Over the past few days, my husband and I brought our daughter to 2 new gymnastic schools for evaluation, and our daughter was admitted into much more advanced classes compared to Tiny Twisters' program.

Both of my kids (7 yr old son and 5 yr old daughter) have been practicing gymnastics here for almost half a year. My son is always looking forward to the class, and it’s the most “fun” class among all the other classes. My daughter has made great progress in the short period of time, and also tries to “teach” me sometimes at home. They both like the couple of coaches they had (coach Misty, Kyle, Kiara, Elise). They may have different styles but all pay great attention to the kids and trained them like real gymnasts! Compare to other gyms around, the best thing I like is the cleanness, and not over crowded, so the kids can focus on the coach and instructions, and not get distracted from other kids and loud noise. They also have super easy makeup class policy, which is super convenient for kids with busy schedules! Overall great experience and highly recommended.

For the last 1 year, my daughter who is now 5.5 years has been a part of the preschool gymnastics group program at Twisters. Initially we went through a lot of adjustments in terms of the coaching, engagement by the teachers, and having a consistent program. Since coach Misty Blair has joined the gymnasium, the program has been the most rewarding experience. She is very passionate about the overall development and commitment towards the sport. She works with the student to develop not just fitness but also the correct attitude. My daughter has learned discipline, correct form, has become more courageous and built confidence. As a parent, I feel these skills are fundamental to the growth of who she becomes. Since coach Misty has joined, I have seen proactive, clear, and precise communication from the office. Thank you coach Misty and the gymnasium. We are lucky to have found you!

This is my first review, and I hope it can help more parents who are trying to find a gymnastics class for their little ones.
For now, I would give zero stars if the system allows but it couldn't!
My kid has been here for more than a year, and she loves gymnastics and most of the coaches, especially Coach Jonathan and Coach Joanna (her favorite!). She can't wait to go to the gymnastic class every week. But until recently, Coach Misty came in and took over as the director. Since then my kid refuses to go to the gym anymore and asks me to find a new gymnastics class for her!
I've never seen a coach like her, being cold-blooded, impatient, careless, and having a poker-face all the time! How can she be qualified to be a coach for young kids!!!She is the worst coach I've met! !!!After she became the director of the gym, it's not friendly, and the environment became negative and hostile, which harms a kid's self-esteem, confidence, and motivation.
I referred this gym to all my friends before, but I won't anymore! I also talked to other parents I met in this gym, and they have the same feeling. Some of them already left, and some are trying to find a new gym.
Advice to the parents: stay away from Coach Misty because you may have to find a new gym for your kid pretty soon!
Advice to the business owner: ask more parents for feedback about this 'capable' director, and reconsider if you still want to hire her as director/coach before it's too late. Check how many customers have left because of her! The gym is not promising with her as a director!

Reply to the owner's response:
Sorry, I am not sure what you are referring to. However, it seems that this response was written by Coach Misty. Unfortunately, this is how this business is currently being run. I feel lucky that we left that gym, as it was the right decision. When an issue arose, Coach Misty targeted the parent and student rather than finding and solving the problem.
During my time at the gym, I felt that Coach Misty didn't respect parents or students and didn't care about the kids. Her poor attitude and communication skills had a negative impact on the kids' confidence and motivation. That's why I wrote this review, to help more parents and kids avoid having the same bad experience. This is all I have to say, and I don't want to waste any more time on this gym

I never had billing issues with other after-school programs in Silicon Valley, but this place surprised me. I enrolled my kid in a 4-time class between mid Dec and early Jan as a trial period, considering that this place does not offer free trial. I ended up paying $84.5 to attend only one class worth $32.5. Basically, they overcharge monthly enrolled students and have unnecessarily strict rules for makeup classes. The communication was also lack of transparency and made me feel the overcharge was intentional.

I recommend new customer to read the email with title "Twisters Gymnastics Policies" line by line to make sure you can infer all edge cases around the policies that can result in an overcharge, especially about billing, makeup class, and drop procedure.

My kid has been there for 3 months, he loves gymnastics, however, the coach for little twisters keeps changing, and one of them is terrible, she doesn't provide any instructions and no patience at all! Actually she is the worst coach I have ever seen. My kid was trying, and she thought my kid cannot do it, so she just left my kid alone. In that class, she also made another girl cry.

I don't know why twisters gymnastics hires that coach, we definitely will not go there and will not recommend little twisters at all.

For tiny twisters though, the same coach was there, might be okay

I hope they enjoy the $15.00 they made for waking up today. I am dissatisfied with how they conduct business. While browsing their website for different classes, I found that their day class, half day class, and kids night out. Before checkout, day class and half day had their prices clearly labeled prior to checkout. Kids night out had it's price at $0.00. I acknowledge that the fine print said no trial classes, but the system allowed me to checkout and book my kids night out for free.

They took my credit card info and had me automatically enroll in reoccurring transfers and this is what got me by surprise. They charged me $60.00 through another invoice for the booking. There is no option on the website to modify the card to opt out of reoccurring payments. There's no option to remove my card or close my account. This is a big concern for me and this was my customer support response:

"Wow! I’m surprised that you would expect anything to be free without fully checking. Kids Night Out has been an event that Twisters has done for 40 years and we’ve never done it for free. I believe that’s a terrible way to conduct business or even expect or feel entitled to. In any event, please see our policies below that you agreed to while registering into the system and let me know how you would like to move forwards. Refunds are the full amount minus 25% of the total. This was agreed upon when enrolling in Kids Night Out."

I don't know what aged elite club house this person came from, but it really sounds like, "thanks for not reading my warning, I'm going to give you back 75% because you wasted my time."
Without really addressing any of my concerns with vulnerabilities that they put upon themselves.

You may be great coaches. You might have a good facility. But I'm definitely not coming here because your customer support is not for building rapport, but instead, to mitigate lawsuits and avoid refunds.

My 3 years old was having her very first class with other preschoolers. She and another boy had some difficulties following teacher's instructions and the teacher soon got very uncomfortable with that suggesting that we and the other mom switch to another class with parents supervision. The teacher seemingly preferred us to leave so we did (totally understandable). So basically we spent $35 just to try 10 min and then leave. It was somewhat disappointing that I was not offered a free replacement class with another group/teacher nor I got a refund for the class which in fact had not been taken. The customer support could of been more friendly too. Overall, not a good experience for us.

My daughter has been at Twisters for seven years. She LOVES gymnastics and even more she loves the coaches and the friendships she has made at Twisters. As a parent, my biggest concern has been injury. I give full credit to her coaches for their skill and methodology, that she has stayed healthy for all these years. Allan’s philosophy is wholistic, teaching life skills, love of fitness, teamwork, discipline, hard work, etc. without overtraining the athletes. Since the gym switched to “Xcel only” my daughter trains half the amount of hours per week, but she is more focused during the short practices, continues to make steady progress on learning new skills, and is more balanced in her life (more time for schoolwork and friends).

My daughter is in tenth grade now and the skills she has learned at the gym make her a better student, and more adept at handling her mindset with life’s challenges outside the gym. She also carries herself with confidence; she knows she is strong and fit and she is proud of herself.

I have always harbored reservations about gymnastics. I had misconceptions about the culture, the injuries, body image issues, and I didn’t consider it a team sport. Seeing my daughter truly thrive in gymnastics, on all levels, and witnessing so many girls thrive through their experience at Twisters, after many years, has brought me to a full conversion. I now believe every child would benefit from gymnastics. I think the people you bring into your child’s life are more important than any circumstance, and Twisters hires fantastic coaches across the board. If your child is one of the very lucky to train with Allan or Ericka, your child will be blessed by the experience.

Off to drive my daughter to gym....

Why does a great place with good staff let mean a coach spoil the place? Coach Nicole had my 12 year daughter in tears. I will confront and update when I find out why but that is BS!!!

So employee Nicole defended herself by accusing my daughter of rolling her eyes and not listening. My daughter does not do this and Nicole the first instructor to have ever said this!! Today my kid left our home a happy person and came from gymnastics sad.

After going to the gym for over two years, we finally left. Our daughter's skills were not fostered; she basically was stagnant in her gymnastics development (though she gained strength). My family has participated in many Twisters activities including summer camps, competitive and recreational gymnastics, rock climbing, and briefly Tae Kwon Do. We've had and attended birthday parties there as well. We find the Twisters team friendly, professional and very safety conscious. Please note that they are not, however, ridiculous in their approach to safety -- being really active in any sport has an element of danger to it. Testing your body, learning what it can do and how to get it to do it, is not easy and its not always 100% risk free. Having said that, Twisters coaches can help children get strong enough and skilled enough to do some amazing things safely. It is a fascinating and thrilling thing to watch and I bet an even more incredible thing to experience. Go Twisters!!!
