Extremely unprofessional owner. We were interested in becoming members (family of 5) and of course all he saw was $$ signs so the sales pitch started. No problem there that’s expected. Great story I must say he’s a pastor, donates to service dog groups, youth group leader everything under the sun. Once pricing was discussed he could only read off a flyer because he doesn’t have handouts due to being a franchise and admitting that he sets his own prices. He doesn’t like that the franchisor tries to control him. That’s why he doesn’t promote or market any prices. So I decided that it wouldn’t work out for my family before the 5 day deadline, At this point I’ve already paid to try out the gym. Which he stated he would refund if we decided not to join. Now he has merged with another location due to him not having funds to run his location and now I’m out the money I was suppose to be refunded. The current owner won’t refund the money and when I was there I saw the previous owner and when approached regarding what happened and the money he got extremely aggressive and unprofessional. Ended the conversation with “get the f out!” I get home to an email that he terminated the agreement and we are no longer welcomed at the gym but nothing regarding the refund. I will continue with corporate but this behavior is unacceptable. As an owner he should know basic business etiquette and how to handle customer relation conversations.

WORST EXPERIENCE! My 10 yr old took lessons here. During a "fun" game my son was laying on his back. His instructor took a 3 lbs exercise ball and swung his arm all the way around and over hand threw the ball at my son's face!!! My son lay on the floor dazed with blurred vision. He had a concussion. Do not take your children here. The management and owners dodged my calls and attempts to address this and they refused to allow me to view their security videos of the incident.

Unfortunately I am unable to give less than a 1 star. This once amazing gym has gone to complete trash due to the new owner Jeremy. We gave him a try when he took over ownership, but we found the training was inconsistent. Numerous trainers within a 3 month span, so we decided to cancel. Followed proper procedure to cancel, made our last payment (so we thought) and moved on. We requested a copy of the cancelation form and never received it. Jeremy was rude, even insulting my husband as a father just for leaving his gym. We have now had to cancel our debit card to avoid further charges. Even worse, corporate will not return any calls.
I highly recommend you avoid UFC at all costs especially Lake Forest!!

The new management is “imposing” rules that are not compliant with the agreed terms when the contract was signed under the previous management. There is a complete lack of respect to the customers.
My soon got injured during the last BJJ class for toddlers which was coached by an unexperienced coach (the gym owner).
6 different BJJ coaches in the last 5 months, no proper consistency with training practice, no consistency on the class hours (Thursday), on top of it the new management imposed the utilisation of the branded GI (which i ended up buying it - no choice) and since the last incident now my son is not participating anymore.
I’m obliged to pay for the full 12 months when at the time we signed the contract I was told I could cancel it anytime with 1 month notice. I fail to understand the lack of commitment. Reading other reviews I’m not the only person facing the exact same issue...what is next?

Home of fighters. We finally got a real gym for those passionated for the sport.
Jeremy made an incredible set up were not only the equipment but the whole set up is 'world class'.
We met the instructors and they have got lifelong experience and total passion for the many disciplines they teach.
The building is full of energy and the schedule shows a long list of different activities.
The seninars are awesome.

I would highly discourage anyone from joining this gym. I have had multiple negative experiences with them where they were deliberately financially dishonest and took money from me that they were not supposed to.
The most recent experience I had was just this month on December 2nd. Back in early June of this summer I started the process of becoming a fire fighter and due to heavy training I could not find the time in my schedule to attend the UFC Gym. On June 19th I contacted the UFC Gym and informed one of their employees that I wanted to cancel my membership, through the course of conversation he persuaded me that he could freeze my account for the duration of six months and then on December 19th I could contact the gym to restart my membership or cancel it. I accepted the offer and froze my account.
On December 2nd the UFC Gym charged my card $395. My normal monthly payments before I froze my account were $79. I was shocked and distraught over the large amount that was suddenly charged to my card so I went in person to the UFC Gym in Lake Forest to talk to the owner Jeremy about what happened. He pulled up my account right in front of me and said that he saw a notation on my account that stated it was to be frozen for six months and that it did not require a doctors note. Jeremy proceeded to say that the note and action made by the UFC Gym employee on my account did not abide with my contract and that the employee who put that note on my account and assisted with me freezing it was probably fired.
Jeremy continued to be extremely rude and told me directly to my face that he could help me but was completely unwilling to. When I tried to further discuss with him reversing the charge of $395 he brought up that he was a new business owner and that he had a business to run, implying that he had zero intentions of reversing the dishonest charge because his overall goal was to keep my money regardless of whether it was charged to my account wrongfully or not. Later on in the conversation when I wanted to discuss the notation on my account stating that it was to be frozen for six months and that it did not require a doctors note, he blatantly lied directly to my face and denied ever telling me that such a notation existed.
This company is not only corrupt but they are dishonest. They will lie, manipulate and deceive you in any way they can to get the thing that means the most to them; money. I do not support companies that are greedy and treat their customers like they are expendable. I leave this review to inform anyone who is considering trusting the UFC Gym with their money or currently is that the UFC Gym has one person in mind; them. Do not trust or support them.

Unfortunately I cannot rate lower than 1 star or I would do so. I trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu here for about 4 years and in less than a month the new owner managed to completely dismantle the program to fulfill a corporate agenda. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this gym to anyone, period.
Update: 11/16/19 I have moved out of state since October 2019.
UFC Gym has now blocked my phone number and continues to charge my debit card $49/mo without my consent. They also change their vendor name so they can continue to charge my card. Despicable.
Very disappointed in how the new owner conducts business and would absolutely NOT recommend this gym to anyone until further actions persuade me otherwise.
Update 11/16/19. Was given a bit of a run around, contacted one of the coaches directly at the gym via personal cell and was put in contact with the owner whom was able to cancel my membership and resolve my issue. Much appreciated.

I declined to sign up for a gym membership, but they charged my card that I used to buy wraps from them. I called them to refund my money, and then charged me again for the next month.

i went in just to check the place out and was greeted by one of the staff. he showed me around and I told him I would come back later to sign up because I wasn't sure if I wanted to yet but he kept pressuring me. I told him no at least twice before i finally agreed and he said I would be charged one month at a time for $100 at the end of each month but a couple days later when my card got declined, I found out they took $220 out of my bank account and I had to borrow money until my next payday. I called the next day asking about it and i ended up asking for a refund so they told me to come in tomorrow to talk to them so I did and I cancelled my account but they never gave me my refund. it was extremely hard to get a hold of them over the phone and it took almost 3 weeks for them to finally explain to me that they couldn't give me my refund because I didn't request one within 24 hours of being charged. Long story short, I gave this gym $220 and got nothing in return. If you want to come to check this gym out, just be careful and don't let these people bully you into signing up for anything you're not 100% sure about. Also check your bank account often for any hidden fees.

Even more edits: I was informed just a couple days ago by Amber Lee, who has been very helpful, courteous, and professional, that Lake Forest now has yet another new owner and that they are not honoring any prior offers so once again an offer was made and then taken.
It's a shame because Coach Earl and Amberlee are both great. Amberlee tried to work with me to make it right and did a good job. Unfortunately, the new owners don't care.
I recommended a friend to sign up at Aliso Viejo location last year because I liked UFC gym at that time. Between all the false promises and issues there and now at Lake Forest too, I'll make it a point to recommend against anyone else making this same mistake!
Coach Earl is a great man.
Another last edit: Michael Lindsay finally emailed me yesterday so he didn't flake as I originally thought. The issue is not completely resolved but at least he's back in touch after emailing corp.
Last edit: the Lake Forest gym owner gave me a couple free months to compensate for me losing my membership at Aliso Viejo.
Edit: Amber Lee is in contact with the owner and has promised to try to work something out. I'll update my review upon the conclusion of this.
Good morning,
I'm writing on behalf of 'member' who I helped to sign up for a membership at the Aliso Viejo less than one year ago.
In April 2019, the gym changed membership and she was assured by staff that her membership would be canceled. Since then, she has received several calls from a collections agency.
On July 22nd, I followed up re: this matter with Blake Belshe at Aliso Viejo at what is now known as Storm Gym. This was his response:
"I'll be in the gym later on today. I can give her a call.
She doesn't need to pay any collection agency. All memberships were shut down with the ending of UFC"
Last week, she received another call from the collection agency. I contacted Blake again and have not heard back.
I also contacted UFC Gym Lake Forest and spoke to Amber Lee. She claimed that the change in ownership was not amicable but promised to look into the matter and call me back. 3 days later, I had yet to hear from her and called back again.
She said that she didn't find any information in her system for 'member' and apologized that she never bothered to call back to tell us. She said that there was nothing else she could do and recommended that I call UFC Corporate office.
I then spoke to Justine from UFC Corporate who said that UFC Corporate was not responsible and to contact the previous owner Michael Lindsday. She said that several other ex-members had had similar problems and that she had given Michael's phone # to them all.
Michael, I called and left you a voicemail on Friday and received a text back from you saying that you may be able to help even though you are not involved either. I don't understand who else can be responsible for this. I know that you are still in the Aliso Viejo area as I spotted you Sunday afternoon at Nature's Juice at Aliso Viejo Pkwy and Aliso Creek.
'member' is frustrated because she was told that her old membership would be canceled, yet she continues to receive calls from the collections agency re: her delinquent membership. Everyone who we've spoken to on the matter has claimed to not be responsible and passed the buck to the next person until it's gone full circle. Someone is responsible and we need this resolved ASAP.
Please help us re: this matter.
Regards,
Fritz White

I have a ten year old daughter. She has a gentle soul and is not physically aggressive. With all the "bullying" that occurs in school that both school staff and parents miss.... it is important for a parent to empower their only child. At UFC Lake Forest, I found the staff members all to be caring especially in the children's program after school. We were fortunate to work 1:1 with Coach Paul. He built up my daughter's confidence and physical ability. The trainers are all awesome. They teach the foundation of an athlete but it is the relationship that they build with the children that I find to be most rewarding. Each and every trainer we had come across at UFC Lake Forest are so caring and helpful. It reminded me of the TV show "Cheers" where everyone knows your kid's name. The management has an awesome team. We worked with Art who signed us up into the program. And most recently, Steve the manager, is always helpful with your needs. Because UFC Gym has different owners, I can only speak for the one that is in Lake Forest owned by Mike. We joined because two of my nephews and my niece are part of the children's membership. It became a family activity with my daughter seeing her cousins. We moved out of the area but we hope to get our schedule straighten out so we could come back soon.... especially our 1:1 time with Coach Paul, definitely a champion in our hearts! CHECK OUT UFC GYM, Lake Forest.... if you have any children with excessive energy and lack of focus ;D ...you will see an awesome change in them!
