Honestly this UFC gym doesn't have a good rep in the MMA realm, I was exploring different gym options and decided to give UFC gym a chance again. I took a few different classes, was Honestly disappointed but expected it given the reputation, but then I met the MMA coach, Joseph, and really had an excellent class.

The Coach is assertive, loud, charismatic
gave a great MMA workout, and on top of that I actually felt like I was advancing as a Fighter. Coach Joe did a better job and taught me more than most of these Jiu Jitsu and Kickboxing gyms in the Ventura/Oxnard area. This guy SOLD me on UFC gym. Wish he had more classes available other than just Tuesday and Thursday.

They didn’t let me use a free pass without signing up. It was $110 a month and before I signed up I asked a couple of the guys leaving and everyone’s same plan is vastly different. $35, $60 $70 for the same thing. Not worth the equipment or training offered

HONEST REVIEW PLEASE READ!!
They don’t have water fountains, only bottle fill stations, and when I asked for a little plastic cup to use for water station, they then proceeded to tell me little plastic cups they charge 25 or 50 cents. Not a big deal money wise, but after paying thousands a year, it feels ridiculous.

There’s no pool, no basketball court, always packed sauna, & no steam room. Only about 4 adjustable benches in the whole gym, rest are unadjustable and just sit there unused every time I go. One time I was running shirtless on the treadmill and they got mad. LIKE WHAT? YOUR A FIGHTING GYM!? I have been to many gyms in the area under different friends guess passes, THIS WAS THE ONLY ONE that had an issue with me running shirtless on the treadmill. Another time I was using a bicep machine and a guy told me not to slam the weights. I had headphones on and didn’t even notice. It wasn’t even dumbbells or a bar it was a machine, and I was not slamming or being loud what so ever.

They’re constantly trying to upsell stuff, and most of the classes feel like they’re just there to market something. A lot of it seems geared toward moms, which is fine, but it feels like they’re just trying to squeeze more money out of people. Cryo was also removed from my membership without any notice.

On the positive side, some classes like yoga are actually pretty good, and a few instructors do a solid job. But overall, it feels like the gym is more about selling stuff than helping people train.

Not worth the price at all in my opinion.

A quick google search on the website shows A (FREE PASS)IN RED LETTERS so I walked in to do just that .. well to my surprise this employee came up to my group of 2
We let him know we did have a membership at planet fitness but wanted to switch over to a more larger gym and this one LOOKS BIG from the outside. He says well look we are not no planet fitness we are much better and have 4 gyms in one so what can we help you with he says.. I said well I wanna take advantage of the FREE PASS AGAIN that is (advertised online) He said no that’s not correct he says here are the prices and if you want to do 1 time workouts you can pay the $15 each time you visit us. Obviously my face changed and maybe he noticed and said okay well than I guess go and swayed his arms to the gym area and said go ahead than he was so absolutely rude. And didn’t even hear us out and just for that I didn’t even think about anything else I did a 20 minute workout and left uncomfortably gym is dirty anyways and didn’t even have napkins to clean off the machine I used this is why they have a 3.7 rating …

The Kid Care here is absolutely unacceptable.

We chose this gym because they offer Kid Care services, but it has been a complete disappointment. After giving it three chances, we will never use it again. The caregivers seem extremely young and clearly have no experience with children. They spend most of their time on their phones, completely ignoring the kids — even when there are toddlers and babies present.

The toys are filthy and neglected. Worse, they mix children of all ages — from infants to 13-year-olds — in the same space, without paying any attention to whether the younger ones are safe, overwhelmed, or even getting hurt.

This is not a safe or responsible environment for children. If you’re a parent looking for a gym with childcare, do not bring your kids here.

This gym is the definition of quality. UFC staff does a great job of keeping the gym clean as well as servicing their members. The classes are both informational and the instructors make you feel very welcomed as well. Personally, I take the wrestling class at UFC gym and I have nothing but good things to say about it! The head coach, Dennis is always willing to help and understands wrestling on a high level to help almost anybody that walks through the doors. I've been a member of UFC Gym for a couple of years now. It's a great gym! It's so much more than a "fighting" gym. Everyone is friendly (shout out to Dennis, my trainer, who might be the most qualified trainer I've ever had! Friendly, knowledgable, and pushes me to see potential I didn't know I had). The equipment is nice, the locker room and sauna are wonderful. I enjoy going here and would recommend! And I love that they have an outside area!!

I absolutely love this gym!! My personal trainer, Jamie, is incredible—he always pushes me to reach my goals and knows exactly how to lift me up when I’m feeling discouraged. I’ve had a tough time in gyms before because of some bad past experiences, but this place has been nothing but welcoming and positive from day one.

The head trainer, Dennis, is also amazing! He regularly checks in on me during my sessions with Jamie just to make sure I’m still giving it my all, which really shows how much they both care.

I’m so happy I chose this gym and got the chance to work with such awesome people. ❤️ Huge thanks to both of you—especially you, Jamie—for all your support, your motivating training style, your kindness, and the progress you’ve helped me make. I truly appreciate it!

UFC gym is a great place for family. All my kids at different ages enjoy their classes. My younger kids join the kids club that is available as it is a stimulating environment. The front desk is always helping with any issues and very respectful. The fitness director does a great job, walking around helping all the people with anything he can to increase their progress for their personal growth. He's very knowledgeable from nutrition, anatomy, to building yourself to meet all goals.

If you’re a parent who gets a little anxious about leaving your kid while you work out don’t even stress. The UFC Gym Kids Club is amazing. Each staff member in there personally knows each child’s name and makes an effort to engage with each and every one of them. Special shout out to Nadia, who is my child’s personal favorite. My daughter gets so excited when she sees Nadia working in the Kids Club. That right there tells you everything you need to know. It feels more like a fun hangout than childcare. And even with all the energy, the place is always super clean and chill. As a parent, it’s such a huge relief know the staff cares and loves what they do. Big thanks to UFC Gym Kids Club (and Nadia) for making it possible to get a workout in without the mom guilt, and for giving my child a place she actually wants to be.

When I moved to California I wanted to start training Jiu Jitsu again. I had been training on and off for years. I decided to try out UFC gym first, and I was immediately hooked. Never in my years training Jiu Jitsu have I met a coach who is so positive, so eager to teach, and so welcoming to everybody! And on top of that, the instruction he provides is top notch. Professor Sardinhaj is everything you want in a Jiu Jitsu coach.

I was so excited that I told multiple others about the program, and got them to sign up as well. Sardinhaj is rare. And to see him be disrespected by management for not meeting arbitrary goals, is baffling. He works harder than anyone I know to provide the best instruction. Ask any of the customers how they feel about him. Everyone will say the same. I know I won’t be renewing my membership for a watered down product.

I'm really disappointed to learn how management has treated professor Sardinha lately. My main deciding factor for joining this gym was the BJJ program. Professor Sardinha is a great instructor, and I don't feel that I am getting from the class what I had hoped to when he is not teaching. Without a quality BJJ program, I don't think I can continue to justify paying for a membership, especially if I need to join another gym to continue training.

I’ve been at UFC Gym Oxnard for multiple years, I have continued to renew my annual membership specifically for the Jiu jitsu classes taught by Professor Sardinha. He’s a legit black belt and incredible professor who has cultivated a uniquely special and welcoming training environment in his classes.

Now management wants to give some of his classes to a purple belt and might even fire him? It’s a joke. A purple belt doesn’t have the experience or the authority to be leading classes at this level. This isn’t just a downgrade, it’s a slap in the face to everyone who trains here.

The management at this gym clearly has no idea what they’re doing. They’re either clueless about the sport or they just don’t care. Either way, they’re ruining the reputation of this gym. I didn’t sign up for this, and I’m not going to keep paying for it.

I've been a committed member at UFC Gym Oxnard primarily because of the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) program led by Coach Sardinha. His expertise, dedication, and leadership have built a strong, loyal community around him. Unfortunately, the management at this location continues to undermine both the program and Sardinha himself. They regularly take away his classes, limit his input on how the program should be run, and bring in less qualified coaches--compromising the integrity and quality of training. Reducing your quality from a 4th degree black belt to a purple belt is crazy.
It's clear that many members, myself included, are here specifically for Sardinha. If he were to leave, it would definitely cause a major decline in membership. Yet, management (mainly Denise Camarena, very rude and toxic manager) seems indifferent, prioritizing profit over people and showing a disappointing lack of understanding when it comes to community building and long-term member satisfaction.
Their poor customer service extends beyond members. it's visible in the way they treat their coaches. It's disheartening to see a respected coach like Sardinha be sidelined by a team that lacks both marketing strategy and genuine interest in developing the programs that actually retain customers.
I am beyond disappointed with how this gym is being managed. If changes aren't made to support the BJJ program and Coach Sardinha, I'm sure many of us will reconsider our memberships.

I'm upset with the new management. I've been training here since 2022, but this new manager does everything wrong. She doesn't respect the coaches. She's awful. In the past, she removed kickboxing classes and now she's removing jiu jitsu no Gi classes. She called the police this afternoon to remove the jiu jitsu coach. Terrible manager.

Been coming here since 2023 I’ve had no issues until the new manager came. She’s been constantly threading to take my jujitsu coach’s class away even tho there are way more other classes with low enrollments. Recently she took his no gi classes just for him to SELL MORE PRIVATE CLASSES, I understand that it’s not a jujitsu gym but it’s not a normal gym it’s UFC GYM!!! I feel so so sorry for my jujitsu instructor who’s compassionate about showing us jujitsu! He deserves a whole lot better!! It is atrocious how the management belittles the efforts Professor Sardinha, what he represents to Brazilian Jiu jitsu/ martial arts practitioners around the world, the students, the UFC gym’s members and the UFC/MMA culture itself. Without martial arts (shout out to IBF champ Evgeny Gradovich and One fighter Jenelyn Olsim) BJJ and 4th degree black belt Professor Sardinha giving merit to the BJJ/MMA program within the UfC Oxnard, all you have is a gym. UFC is founded on the fighting spirit, the love of martial arts and respect for those who practice. This gym’s management has tarnished the brand by allowing such disgrace within its walls. Without MMA, this is just another gym. The UFC oxnard management has slowly taken away BJJ classes from the professor to pass those classes to less qualified, less accomplished purple belts. This has created less attendance of those classes, which then allowed UFC gym brand upper management to cancel altogether due to lack of attendance. Why not just reinstate the Professor? Blatant disrespect, lack of vision and lack of respect to the UFC members. It would be like taking USC’s Trojan professors and replacing them with high school freshmen. They don’t yet have the respect of the community, the vision, experience and ability to create a full BJJ program reflective of the vision of the BJJ founders. Now they are doing it again?!?! Not only are Sunday BJJ classes canceled but now they want to give the highest attendance classes of no GI BJJ to a brand new to the gym purple belt?! No offense to this poor guy but he is not Professor Sardinha. He has not put in all the effort, time and care into these classes and the students. The professor has earned his rank, his title and his admiration from his students. If I could rate the coaches and team separately from the management I would rate Professor Sardinha, Coach Gradovich and Coach Jenelyn all 10. Management a 1. Denise and Slava, you should be ashamed of yourselves for cheating your members of the very man who created the BJJ program you promote. Professor Sardinha is a man who places his students’ needs above his own. He is the reason why we loyally come to classes, the gym and compete under the name of UFC gym Oxnard. I been here for a while and I honestly like going to the classes they offer and it's a great place to train. Today I learned that they will be canceling some of the no gi jujitsu classes with coach Sardinahj and I'm extremely disappointed. I’m appalled by the treatment of our beloved jiu jitsu teacher, Sardinhaj, who is a 4th degree black belt from Brazil. The management threatens to take away his classes for not selling private lessons and to replace him with a purple belt instructor. When our professor went to talk to the managers to resolve the issues, they have made themselves suddenly unavailable. They have taken advantage of his inability to communicate properly given he’s a Brazilian immigrant and English is his 2nd language. When our instructor asked for the absurdly loud music volume to be lowered so he didn’t lose his voice, he was told, “this is not a jiu jitsu gym.” We have daily classes, dozens of child and adult students, belt promotions, and competitors. Against all odds, Sardinhaj created a legitimate program while facing daily opposition by his own employers. Clearly, this is just an excuse to disrespect the needs of the instructor and its paying students. The gym has no appreciation for jiu jitsu or actual fighting, despite pretending to represent UFC. They have turned over dozens of instructors here, who have dealt with similar issues. The management here needs serious overhaul, just look at the other reviews. If you’re reading this Denise, Slava, know if this lack of regard for the program continues, you’ll lose dozens of clients, far more than what would be made up by forcing a few private lesson sales. Let the instructors instruct. Don’t have your instructors make up for your lack of effective marketing.

THE WORST GYM!!
The music volume is extremely loud. Beware of the membership sales people and especially management. They have a long history of overcharging, increasing your membership fees, and continue to charge you months after you cancel.
They will conveniently be unavailable to help you when you request to cancel membership, which means you pay additional months after you cancel. You can’t call, email or verbally tell them you want to cancel…the manager Denise has to be there…but never is.
The manager is never available, and it is run by a third party service ABC management, which will refer you back to the gym personnel, who will then refer you to ABC.
Customer service at the gym is very poor.
Much better gyms nearby, UFC is a fine brand, but this gym is horrible

DENISE CAMARENA NEEDS TO BE FIRED AS A MANAGER IMMEDIATELY!!!! I went in on September to cancel my UFC Gym membership and Gabriel (The front desk) gave me a copy of receipt to send it to Denise through e-mail because apparently no one else has access to cancel or refund me the money but the manager herself. Ive called & I went in twice in person to get this situated(waste of my time & gas) UFC charged me $20 November, December & January. It got to the point where today (Jan 19) I had to call the bank for them to close my account because her act of unprofessionalism. Heres proof that I sent her a copy of receipt straight to her work e-mail. Shame on Denise & shame on her for making UFC Gym look BAD!! If anybody wants to cancel their UFC Gym membership; I recommend that y’all are better off calling your bank instead. @Dana White I hope you see this.

This gym is ideal in every aspect except that of billing. Ive initiated a refund and promised a few days to see it and its been a long time now and still no refund. Denise Camarena doesnt respond and ive tried every approach with her - call, text, email, in person and no resolution. At this point, my next steps are filing a complaint with the BBB. One final comment is that Denise isnt very competent on her position, when I kept asking her questions, she would reply with "i dont know", simple things a manager should know

Thank you for the service.**Receptionist are terribly rude & unprofessional. Receptionists keep turning up the volume even when paying customers tell them to lower it. Additionally, I furtively encourage serious customer service training for the Manager Denise. Denise was extremely aggressive with her verbiage when a billing clarification was requested due to double charges. I have skimmed through the reviews and I am not the first to highlight this issue. It's disappointing that there isn't a greater emphasis on professionalism and good, welcoming customer service from the managing positions.

Bought a massage gun from them was broken out of the box, tried returning it they denied me and told me I would personally have to send it to the manufacturer. I confronted them about their return policy as they was not any signs posted they told me it stated on the receipt there are no refunds but if I have to buy something in order to get a receipt how is that informative at all. They also charged me a late fee for the annual fee because my card declined the first time they ran it again the same day and it went through, they told me they would refund the fee and never did.

God awful customer service, especially when it comes to a billing issue. As mentioned in other reviews, you will get the run around and deceptive salesmanship from their staff.

I canceled my membership and found a charge on my credit card 3 months later. When I attempted to contact the manager Denise she failed to respond to my multiple emails and phone calls for 14 calendar days. Not even a simple acknowledgement.

I finally got fed up and went into the gym to deal with the issue in person. I was saddened when I didn't get to meet Denise because she was on "leadership retreat". Thankfully the front desk staff could help me, but not in time to prevent my card from getting charged for the next month of service that I previously canceled.

Denise finally emailed me 14 days after my original email. Saying nothing but generic answers and not reading any of the previous emails explaining my situation, she went ahead and canceled my membership (that her staff helped cancel the other day) making it seem like she actually did something.

Of course after sending her a follow up she called me back right way and wanted to talk.

Dear owner of UFC Oxnard, your gym itself is great, top notch equipment and facilities, front desk staff are helpful and friendly, cleaning crew does the best job of any gym I have ever seen. However, your customer service and management are lack luster and need to be changed.

I emailed to cancel my membership in January after receiving a notification of increase in rates. My membership was never cancelled, so, I called in and was told that cancellations could only be done via phone call and that my membership would be cancelled. Again, I was charged so I called and spoke to the manager, Denise, who advised that she had been out and just returned. Over the phone, she stated that if I emailed her, she would cancel my account and issue a refund. She later responded that she was unable to issue me a refund.

The negative: unfortunately the music is extremely loud, irritating and painful to the ears. (I'm not the only one who complains) I can't finish my workout, because I only think about going away every 30 minutes. I've asked them several times, politely, to turn down the sound, which is also of low quality, but they didn't do it. So when my contract ends I will not renew. It's a lot of headache and a feeling of "loss" that stays in our heads for an hour after we get out of it. Only the Oxnard gym, the other UFCs I visited, don't have this problem.
The positive: the staff is great, it's super clean, it has the machines I like, the outdoor gym area is nice, the spa is a plus, but again the music is extremely loud and interferes with the idea of ​​relaxing in the spa area afterward the workout.
If the sound is fixed, I will definitely continue.

UFC Oxnard has been my home gym for 3 years. The gym is less than a decade old, and most equipment still looks new. The gym has a nice diversity of exercise equipment ranging from turf Sleds, Bulgarian bags, and punching bags to infinity ropes, tires, and wide selection of free weights. The lack of a swimming pool is made up for with a full sized octagon and outdoor training area. No complaints there.

The staff are friendly and professional, equipment and bathrooms are clean (At least I assume the women’s is as clean as the men’s). At peak hours, the gym can become a little stuffy, but that’s to be expected at Oxnards most popular gym. Trainers are friendly and classes are structured for all levels of skill to learn together.

Once a month, fight nights are a fun time to watch the MMA bouts with friends, and the kids club, recovery center, and smoothie bar give members a lot of options and support.

I’m giving this gym two stars, because the gym is clean, great machines & just a good place overall to workout. However I’m extremely upset with how billing, fees & etc works. I’ve gone numerous times in person to cancel, and contacted numerous times to cancel. Finally after 21 days, I can cancel but have to pay 69$ for a membership I don’t even use. I could’ve avoided this if the staff was more specific and actually assisted me in canceling. Great gym, terrible staff. Good luck canceling your membership.

I was a member for about 2 years. When I tried to cancel my membership, the employees never informed me I had to do it in person and kept saying I would get a call back. I never received a call. I called dozens of times and nobody could help me with canceling my membership but everyone is able to sign you up and try to upswell merchandise? I finally went in person and was able to talk to a manager who acted as if I was lying about speaking to the employees about cancelling my membership. She STILL charged me the next month’s membership in order to cancel it without considering that I had already paid $400 for a membership I was not using. The manager Jocelyn was rude and unprofessional when it came to cancelling my membership but totally cool every time she wanted to sell me extra products… don’t go here.

Horrible experience. The sales people try to scam they offered me about $1000 for a year membership and they offered my friend $500 for a year membership including an extra year. Don’t fall for any traps don’t sign up I don’t recommend is gym. In order to cancel your gym membership, you need to let them know 20 days in advance or else you’ll get charged. They will do whatever they can to get you to sign up and keep negotiating the price. They are very desperate to sell.

This gym was nice until you want to cancel part of membership when I tried kept giving me a run around not informing me who I should contact until the last week of a month. Hands-down the best gym I have ever been to and I have belong to many gyms. First off, the staff is friendly, always willing to help always smiling. The gym is clean the bathrooms are super clean compared to other gyms. They always have someone there cleaning. Other than having everything you need it comes to weight lifting, cardio and classes, I noticed when a machine breaks down they fix it within 1-3 days. I brought friends to the gym and they are super impressed. Probably the most successful gym in Ventura county. Very happy there! I re-signed up for three more years and they gave me a killer deal.

Honestly, I have been to a couple of gyms. PF, 24 hour fitness, and even a couple of private gyms and it really does not compare. This gym has a lot of opportunities to work out in unique ways. Not only that, but it offers a ton of classes. For the price some may consider it high, but you also need to look at what you get for it. The only downfall is there is a lot of people, so if you have a set workout you may need to wait for a machine or equipment. That doesn't make it a bad gym, just shows how well it’s loved.

I don’t know what happened to this gym. When we first started going, everything was amazing and super clean. They had really great recovery machines that you could use lately when my husband and I have gone in the place stinks so bad and one day when we went in, it literally smelled like sewage had leaked in the gym. When I asked the front desk, what was the smell? They got really confused and told me that it was some thing from the roof which was not the case. The staff is very hit or miss and good luck trying to cancel your membership. I’ve gone in multiple times trying to do so. The only thing that I think is worth going for is the cryogenic machine.

It’s an awesome place to work out! I’m able to drop my two toddlers off at the day care and sign up for their classes taught by top tier professionals. I have found the gym that has taken me away from 24hour fitness. This is my gym! I love the classes. They have everything from martial arts conditioning to Hiit to cycle to yoga to Zumba! Lots of workout equipment - tons of treadmills, stairmasters, weights, machines, and even a sauna room in each locker room ! There's a whole outdoor area with more workout equipment, battle ropes, weights, and a big contraption where you can do a bunch of other exercises on. There's also a staircase with ropes out there that gives you a different option for a workout! This gym also has a great option for training in martial arts. They have a huge fighting ring, boxing bags, and a mat area. And they have classes for adults and children to condition in jiu jitsu, boxing, and wrestling.It's open 24 hours Mon-Thurs and they even have a juice bar for freshly made smoothies and meal preps to go or eat right after a workout. For an extra cost , they offer recovery options like leg/body compression, walk in cryo machine, hypervolt massage, spray tanning, and a body composition scale that will give you more than just your weight! Go in and talk to the general manager Don. He's very helpful, nice, informative, and easy on the eyes.

Train different is their motto and it's as true as it gets there. Endless amount of workouts, classes and events. From mma, jiu-jitsu, wrestling, kickboxing, boxing, Hiit classes, spin classes to even watching a ufc event on the big screen while food trucks catering to your tastebuds. Got a chance to even meet Ufc fighters and legends like Chuck Liddell, Forest Griffin and Cub Swanson. Couldn't be prouder to be a member which is weird cause I pay for it for me, my wife and 4 kids but it truly feels like a big extended family. I’ve been to this Gym for over a year now and it has been a key contributor to my fitness goals. Slava and Don have great interactions with members and have shown to go above and beyond. Not all gyms are perfect, sometimes you’ll see trash or weights not racked but it’s everywhere and can use some help from us gym goers from time to time. This gym has everything. 1st off, for my parents, theres a DAYCARE. Drop off your bundle of joy, and they'll take care of them while you workout. Theres all the equipment you would ever need for own workouts (squat racks, benches, free weights, all the cardio equipment you can think of) or you can go work on your boxing skills, theres an area with like 20 punching bags. thats not enough for you? theres a literal OCTAGON in the back of the gym where you can roll around to your heart's content. Theres an awesome outside area with even more equipment, sleds, medicine balls, an incline/stair place. The locker rooms are brand new and clean, very spacious showers, and a sauna in both mens and womens restrooms. Plus they got cryotherapy! 3 min in there and it helps get rid of inflammation and speeds up recovery. The best part is the price. yes its not as cheap as planet fitness but this is way better. What im paying for my wife and I to go to the gym here, is less than what I was going to pay for just myself to go to a local crossfit gym. I cant recommend this place enough. When you try to cancel your membership they will take money out of your account even after your bill was paid and say that you still have a balance. UFC has taken over $200 out of my account for membership I wasn’t using due to the fact that I have moved out of state. When they were told this my account was STILL BEING CHARGED!! BEWARE!!! I moved to Texas, and I personally went in to cancel my membership. Guess what? I was denied the termination form because I didn’t give them 14 days it was more like 13. 2 years later, and my credit is horrible thanks to ufc gym . They still will not cancel my membership as we speak . I have talked to 3 general managers saying they will take care of the matter, yet I’m still being billed . My initial POSITIVE contact was by phone with the asst. mgr, LEO @Oxnard,CA location. He was quite accommodating, listened well and briefed me on a few things.
I will be checking the gym out more fully this week with a complimentary pass. Main attraction is the class schedule. They have what I want. Location and accessibility to shopping, fabulous.
I'm giving this a 4.5 only bcuz this facility is a "dry gym" and I am a swimmer. There are pools around. town,so nada huge biggie. AND, 4.5 is a gr8 score based mostly on the reception I received from management(Leo)

I am not one to do reviews but I felt compelled from just a bill payment phone call with LEO and he had seemed to have High energy with Enthusiasm, seriously felt like he was tuned in to the conversation , I felt like he just was in a great mood at work or just by his extra effort , he sounded like he looked forward to even picking up the phone or offering any service I would need. It made a great difference and honestly he should be groomed for more than what his job entails, high potential there ! Nurture those type of employees . Beware! Check your bills CONSTANTLY. We were among the very first to sign up. Strike 1: we prepaid for a year but yet were still getting charged monthly. We were quick to change to monthly and request a refund for the year as we could see from the length of time to even try to resolve this that they were very unprofessional. Strike 2: we requested a freeze on my wife's account as she was training in a new job and traveling non stop so wanted to wait until she was through with it and then back home once completed. Still were charged. Strike 3: random large charges. (Wife now was 3 and done so she cancelled) I gave them one last chance. Strike 4: they had SERIOUSLY messed up who they were charging and had been charging the wrong account for a year but then tried to say it was our confusion!! Long story short we have over paid, they refunded part of the incorrect charges and are trying to say it was resolved when in actual fact it is not. They still owe us money and I have the proof that I requested the freeze well over 21 days in advance of the month they indeed ended up charging us for and refuse to refund even although I have ALL the emails.

Add on to the fact I sent email after email after email and nothing was taken care of. Only when I went in were things SORT of dealt with. Don swore he would contact corporate and get it resolved and come to find out after numerous emails and then get another visit, no email was sent. I had to sit in front of him to see an email be sent. Chasing up a general manager should not be the job of a customer!

It is no wonder they can't keep staff or members. Revolving door of new trainers and management. From what I'm seeing there is a common denominator for billing issues. Check your statements!!!! And don't expect any friendliness or customer service from Denise. So much for the customer always being right (and like many others, I have proof we are)

Got my gym bag stolen within ten minutes of being there ask politely to staff if they could help or possibly check the cameras . UFC is a great brand. Unfortunately, this gym is not what the UFC brand and its subsidiaries expected to have as representation across the world. UFC Oxnard is a complete scam and rip off that has EXTREMELY questionable billing practices - they double bill, over charge, and don't freeze your account (or, cancel it) when requested.

We've had to fight for over $1,500 in refunds for a year at three different intervals in various amounts. We've finally given up and have waived the white flag of canceling our memberships. We got most (not all) of our money back and will dispute the rest with our credit card company and/or small claims court.

We had multiple in-person conversations with Don Tan verbalizing their billing mistakes and guaranteeing a refund. Weeks passed - no refund - so we went in again to talk to Don as well as following up with numerous emails. His attempts to lie and coverup his mistakes are pathetic but apparently the owner, Slava, doesn't catch on to his laziness/poor customer service.

Totally sucks because we were looking forward to finally having a UFC gym here... but, it isn't worth the headaches. Buyer beware!!! Check your statements and don't be scammed.

(update): Looks like we aren't the only ones who have had difficulties with billing malpractices.. D+ rating on BBB (prior to me posting & reporting). I've also attached screenshots from others who have experienced FRAUDULENT billing practices from this same gym. ✌🏼

I parted ways with UFC on Friday after purchasing 12 private jujitsu lessons back in September which I only attended 8 of them and decided not to go back. Here are some pros: the coach is very knowledgeable and talented. The lessons are extremely fun and you can learn fast. It's definitely a good workout. Here are the cons: The mat has a forever horrible smell, by the second lesson the coach made a weird comment about me paying for conditioning not jujitsu. I told him to talk to his manager because I paid for jujitsu private sessions. Just because I'm in good shape doesn't mean I have to pay more. One lesson was only 40 minutes long because the coach was late and also ended the class sooner. The instructor literally canceled one morning 15 minutes before the class and I was basically pulling in to the parking lot . Some lessons were 50 minutes. When I showed up for a lesson he decided to have another guy join without asking me and that's it's not ok. I called to talk to manager twice and was told I was going to receive a call. Nada. I finally had to go in person to cancel and pay them more money for the gym membership. I told the people in the front desk what happened they said the manager was in meeting of course. No one cared. So my advice is take your money to small family owned Martial Arts academy where people are hopefully more professional and considerate of your time and money!

3/10 do not recommend. Where the facilities and the classes are amazing, the workers, specifically the manager Dan Tan and Brian Castillo (off principle), are not.

I joined UFC Oxnard summer 2021. On November 16th (I have the proof), I spoke with Dan to cancel cause I was going on deployment and long story short - he said if I still didn’t want to keep my membership come in December 15th. I go in today, December 15th, and he says I’m still going to be charged because I didn’t cancel in 21 days. I told him how am I being charged when HE was the one that told me to come in on this date. He claimed he never said that and that he would never give clients false information. I asked to speak to his boss and he said he doesn’t know his information and he was just going to refer him back to me anyways cause word for word ITS HIS WORD AGAINST MINE and then turned his back on me.

I asked Brian, the guy I signed up with and the guy that was there the FIRST time we had the conversation in November and he’s like oh oh oh IDK and turned away as well. Not to mention, I joined a challenge through Brian and was supposed to get a free personal training session and every time I tried it said the person he wanted me to book with was full or some other lame excuse, to the point where I just said forget it

I realized this place is just out for your money and to get commission. I should have listened to the reviews where they said cancelling would be hard but I did not expect that from this establishment and DEFINITELY did NOT expect to be told, “it’s your word against mine”.

Like I said though - they do have nice equipment if anyone wants to take their chances. Their daycare staff is super sweet too.

Excellent staff! Everyone is friendly and willing to answer any of your questions or concerns. The gym overall is in pristine condition. I haven't seen a machine broken for longer than 24 hours. They take care of their equipment. The gym offers sanitizing stations which is nice to have. Good job UFC!

Great equipment, staff is helpful, and loving that they have 80' rock in the morning 💯 which is awesome! One fault is that restooms would get flooded and out of order constantly. Other then that, great gym 💪

Went in for a quote and Don was not pushy at all, he actually gave us a very competitive quote that comes out to be the same as Planet Fitness. He also gave us week pass so we tried out for a few days and then decided that this was not the gym for us, love the outdoor section and ring

UFC gym Oxnard is a great gym. I highly recommend getting started with their membership specialist Brian. He's a very caring person, and he does his best to find a rate that's best for you. I really like that and every time I walk into the gym he always say hi and engages with me.

Very pathetic and unprofessional that Brian Castillo, the “top salesman” at this UFC gym would lie about charging for a FREE PASS to check out this gym. He’s harassing you from the moment you sign up for the pass online calling and texting you. He took advantage of two of my friends to pay for their FREE pass because they didn’t want to sign up that day for a membership. Brian must feel very accomplished by lying his way to become the “top salesman” at this gym. UFC management should be ashamed to have this guy selling memberships. Taking advantage of those who don’t question his authority at this gym.

Place is a joke. Poor communication between employees and supervisors with rules or regulations. Employees always seem confused. Supervisors or managers are rude. It’s ridiculous. Kids club employees are overwhelmed with children. Waste of my money and my time.
