Extremely bad customer service. I joined the gym initially and paid for annual subscription, but i barely use the gym as half the times equipments are broken. Also they used to allow guests to come earlier for a sign up for trial for walk ins. They stopped that also recently and Nathan at reception was rude ..

UFC Sunnyvale is honestly the best.
I've been attending off and on for about 3 years. Very regularly the past 9 months.
I started attending when Coach Laotu was still teaching boxing skills and boxing conditioning. His welcoming and gentle approach to a very physical sport was exactly what I needed to build confidence. Being south paw, he essentially had to teach the combos twice and was always incredibly gracious about it.
I began personal training with Coach Eric at the beginning of 2025 and it really brought my skills, confidence, and endurance to a new level. I can't recommend him enough.
He's able to work with each client at their skill level and build towards their goals. His clients have a variety of goals and he works easily with everyone.
The gym itself, the staff and new management, and the general vibe of the place is so very inclusive and supportive. All walks of life, all people, just doing their thing for their body and their goals.
You won't find a better gym, nor a better community in South Bay.

This place is actually run by crooks lol. When I registered, there was a very clear "No registration fee" offer on the website, but when I asked about it they clearly made something up and mumbled about how it was expired, even though the expiration date was clearly on the offer. I would have argued more, but at this point I had already come in and asked to sign up and they proceeded to make me stand around and wait for 45 minutes before someone came to assist me. Mind you, half the staff is doing nothing but being on their phones at the front desk. Then, when I tried to cancel my membership (on the date which they told me to cancel) I was charged another membership due weeks after I had finished going to the gym. When I called to ask about it, they just danced around giving me an answer and instead gave me someone to email, who hasn't responded for over a week. Staff is unfriendly and it's like they don't want you to join, then when you join they pull the classic charge you extra move. 2 stars because the equipment is ample and fine. Don't sign up with them.

The Owner of this GYM needs to hire jiujitsu kids trainers that are on time and do not miss work, also needs to have a substitute in case the schedule coach does not show up, kids parents are paying for the Gym to provide a service that often is not provided as schedule.
The administrators are very good charging customers monthly Bill plus apply an additional charge to the credit cards but this gym is not good to keep with schedules for kids sports, often coaches do not show up, the Gym shall pay each customer who is affected $25 for each session that the coach does not show up. In addition the lockers are not been cleaned, they expect customers to put their back packs in a filty duty locker.

This is one of the rare times I take time to leave a review again because I don’t want anyone else to make the mistake I did. I saw some reviews about how clients had hard time canceling their membership and I thought to myself that worst case scenario I can talk to my bank and make them stop it but apparently they make you an agreement that even AMEX couldn’t stop the reoccurring payments. I talked to the front desk about cancellation couple times and every time I asked, they had an excuse (you need to talk to a manager and he/she should be here in 30 min and when I check on them again “oh actually you missed him/her just now”, sorry manager isn’t in, etc.) and after couple tries one of them said it is not with management, I’m supposed to email someone. I couldn’t believe how long they dragged it just to say that but I was happy that it was finally over or I thought so… I never got response to my email too so I gave up trying to solve it with this place. However, it has been months (since April-May) I have been trying to solve it with my bank and they finally told me there is some kind of agreement they make us sign so bank is required to make payments behalf of me even though I changed my card number and everything. So please do not let this place scam you too and give you the headache of getting rid of their membership. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!

I’ve been training at UFC Gym Sunnyvale for about 8 years. It’s a solid place to stay active and improve your skills. They also support the local community, like the backpack drive they’re doing now for students in need.
Coach Michael Herrera leads strong martial arts classes. I’ve learned a lot through kickboxing and BJJ. What sets this gym apart is the access to a full fitness center. Most martial arts gyms don’t offer weights, cardio equipment, group classes, or clean showers and lockers. Having all of that in one place makes a difference.
The youth BJJ program is another plus. It costs less than most BJJ gyms, and I can work out while my daughter is in class. That works well for our family.

Decided it was time to get back in the gym. I spoke to the Assistant Manager Daniel and he was courteous and encouraging as I explained my fitness goals. The gym was nice and well maintained. I really wasn't expecting much from the staff, but he was great and didn't push the sale on training which in turn caused me to purchase training. I recommend speaking to him for fitness goals and advice.

his gym is a complete disaster. The equipment is constantly broken and when I asked the staff about it, they casually told me “there’s no one to fix it.” No timeline. No effort. Just broken machines gathering dust.
The place is also frequently dirty, with little attention to cleanliness. It feels like no one is managing or caring for the facility at all.
But the worst part by far is trying to cancel your membership. I called five different times, spoke to different people, and sent five emails over the course of a month. No reply. No resolution.
I even went in person, thinking that would help but the staff had attitude, like I was bothering them by simply wanting to cancel something I had already requested weeks before. My account still shows up as active, even though I sent the cancellation email a full month ago well within the required notice.
To top it off, one of the staff gave me the email of a manager who hasn’t worked there in THREE YEARS. That tells you everything about how messy, unprofessional, and poorly run this place is.
If you’re thinking about joining UFC Sunnyvale: don’t. It’s not worth the stress.

I really liked this gym. The trainers were amazing!! The classes were extraordinary. Then all the good instructors left one by one.
Then some coaches were improving and then the best coach moved to morning classes which I can’t attend due to work.
The coaches for DUT are not that good at least the new ones or the substitutes. The kickboxing coach on Monday’s is the best, he should teach DUT too.
Apart from that it’s really bad! I’m just staying for the weights, which by the way some machines are broken and is taking a while to get them fixed.
Oh by the way one time there was some wind the lost power and decided to chill at 4pm and close the doors, the power came back around 6, but the staff was already in their houses chilling.

The management is terrible. Equipment is poorly maintained, and the facility is dirty. Canceling my membership was a nightmare—they dragged their feet, and communication with the General Manager, Autumn, was slow and frustrating.
Even after cancellation, they charged me for an extra month. Autumn promised a refund right away, but about a month went by with no response. I had to follow up multiple times just to get them to act.
After reading other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t a one-off issue. Many members report being overcharged or billed after cancellation, with refunds being delayed or ignored.
The Attorney General should investigate—who knows how much money they’re quietly taking from unaware customers. Horrible management and shady practices.

This is the place where customers ripped off. You have to pay to last month upfront and if you don't give a 21 day notice before the next billing date, they will charge you for a whole month. So you end up paying for two months that you will not use after all. What a PREDATORY system they built. Here is a how to approach them. Come over and negotiate the price the processing fee can be waived. The monthly price can go all the way to 39$/month. After making the first payment, go ahead and CANCEL your membership. Why? To avoid annual hidden fee. The owners of this facility are immoral.

I started private coaching with Coach Donovan to address a shoulder and left elbow injury. From the first session, I was impressed by his professionalism and focus. Our initial meeting was an in-depth discussion about my fitness goals, which made me feel confident in booking 12 sessions.
Coach Donovan tailored workouts to my injuries, emphasizing proper form, body strengthening, and natural body tension. As a beginner, this approach was crucial to avoid further injuries. He’s highly knowledgeable about anatomy and designed exercises to help me build strength safely. I even noticed improvements in alignment after just one session!
Post-workout, he provided supplement recommendations (the watermelon flavor is a game-changer when mixed with warm water) and discussed future plans for catered diets, recovery, and at-home workouts. It’s a great experience. I have been trained with coach Brain Kaho for several months. He calculated the calories I need every and made a detailed workout plan. I trained with him twice every week and do homework myself. I lost about 30lbs in 3 weeks and in the meantime my strength grows as well!

Decent gym that has a lot of equipment and classes.
The annoying things that are typical of any gym that are reflected here: people not re-racking weights, hogging weights, not wiping down their station after use, and (certain) gym goers with no courtesy of wearing deo or personal hygiene. I wish the staff enforced these rules more often or shamed people more often for negligible behavior.
Also, another annoying thing is when there are classes they pack them in taking over all areas of the gym. People running in between treadmills, taking majority of dumbbells, etc leaving nothing really to use for personal use. Another thing about classes is I wish they offered more variety besides martial arts (but this is a UFC gym after all!) More yoga, spin, Pilates, or something! And not at odd hours too.
Lastly, at peak hours they blast the music so loud it’s like you’re at a club. Wish they would lower it a tad bit so you could hear your own music or hear yourself talking.

They have a variety of high intensity work-out classes. The facility and equipment are clean. People and staff are friendly. Staff are very helpful and easy to approach. I loved training with Coach Brian here. He listened to my concerns and took our sessions at my pace, and now I have the knowledge and confidence to walk into the gym, do my own workouts, and try different exercises without hurting myself. It might not sound like much, but it really is hard to make a big lifestyle change like that without the right support, and Coach Brian was that for me.

This gym kept charging my card illegally for MORE THAN A YEAR after I called and emailed the gym staff Lydia to cancel my membership. When I found out they kept charging me, I called and emailed the same person Lydia to cancel and refund the charges countless times over the course of months. Lydia always sounded nice and apologetic until you find out nothing gets done. In the end I was fed up with this and told her I will hire a lawyer and bring this to small claims court if they don’t refund me within two weeks. After all that, I got my refund. I don’t know what to say. I am still in shock.

My guy Marco is a saint! He found my wallet and guarded it with his life from thieves and crooks alike. I walked into the back to see him sprawled out, frames in against a ginormous mountain man to protect my 5 dollars with all his might. Then, my guy Junior (Gabe w/ the green eyes) came through and took the mountain man’s back. He got both hooks in and locked in the choke without hesitation. Marco then hit him with an inverted arm bar finish and brought my stuff to the front. Great staff. Clean showers too!
Edit: naw for real though, Marco was dope. Went out of his way to return my wallet and actually called me to let me know where I left it. Had all my stuff in it when I got it back and we chopped it up for a bit. Cool guy

Extremely responsive if they expect you to pay them. Completely unresponsive if they owe you refunds/extensions.
I had to drive to the location every time i needed a response to my email even after reassurance that “we will let you know via email. Ridiculous.
Prepaid for 3 years, used 1 and the rest “expired” while it was on a freeze. Then when you bring up the fact it was supposed to be on a freeze the manager asks top management and comes back with a paragraph that says it is what it is.

Absolutely terrible experience at UFC Gym Sunnyvale. The music is so loud it's unbearable, and they often play multiple songs at once, creating a chaotic cacophony that gives you a headache. It's impossible to focus on your workout with that kind of noise pollution.
Adding insult to injury, some of the employees have a noticeable body odor problem. It's truly disgusting and makes the gym an unpleasant environment.
I've tried talking to the staff about these issues, but nothing has changed. It's clear they don't care about their members' comfort or well-being.
I would not recommend UFC Gym Sunnyvale to anyone. There are plenty of other gyms in the area that offer a far superior experience.

More and more, the gym goers don't re-rack their weights. Or they just leave them on the floor. Leaving the gym messy and forcing others to clean up after the lazy ones. Also there are many members who don't shower and or don't know how to use deodorant, so they stink up the entire gym. So nasty! Even after discussing woth management several times things are not getting better. The staff is friendly but they don't make the efforts needed to make the gym a better place for all users.

Nearly three years ago, I paid $1,200.00 for personal training sessions, which I couldn't use due to unforeseen circumstances. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter, I have encountered unresponsiveness and poor customer service, especially from the manager.
Recently, I received an email about a supposed "past due balance," which seems inaccurate. I had paid for a one-year membership but could not utilize the gym facilities. Instead of addressing the refund issue, the focus has shifted to an alleged past due balance.
I'm also aware of a friend who was charged for two years' membership fees after relocating abroad without any refund option.
I request an immediate investigation into my outstanding refund, correction of account inaccuracies, and prompt resolution. Transparent and fair business practices are crucial, and I trust we can resolve this matter amicably.

They need a better system with their lost and found. I had lost my airpods and the trackment on them had indicated that they were at the gym. The next day they were at someones house after I had called them confirming that I will pick them up the next day. Explaining the situation to the staff, they could not do anything about it. My question is if they gave my airpods to another guest who had lost them, why didn't they give me the case that the guest had lost instead of leaving me with nothing?

There is a lot to be said about my experience at UFC Gym but I'm not going to leave an extremely detailed review as my time is valuable. However, I will note that my most recent experience at this gym was very unpleasant...ranging from being double charged for monthly fees, interacting with extremely rude and arrogant front desk staff, oberserving the gym equipment being in a raggedy condition and having witnessed the most disgusting, unkempt ladies locker room I've ever seen which resulted in an infestation of cockroaches...just nasty!!!
This last time I signed up for a membership at this gym was in fact my last time and after carefully analyzing what I've experienced over there, I conclude that the entire operation ran awhole lot smoother when Jeremy was the GM. He made sure that his staff was courteous and treated members with respect. I am happy that he has moved on to bigger and better things and I'm so relieved to be outta there!!!👍🏾

This gym isn't the same as other gyms! This gym has classes you can take! There are also classes for kids! You can take classes like boxing, kickboxing, BJJ, HIIT, and dance fusion! There are locker rooms and if you want you can workout regularly!

UPDATE: I cancelled my membership and they still charged me more than 30 days later. The contract clearly states 30 days notice. Autumn (the GM) even acknowledged the cancellation via email.
I was very disappointed with the customer service at this gym. I needed them to send an email to another gym as proof of my cross-border membership, and despite multiple attempts to contact them via email and phone, my request was not fulfilled. In fact, my e-mails to Autumn (the manager) were ignored.
I spent over two hours trying to get this issue resolved and did not receive any assistance. The staff member, Kenny, assured me he would take care of it, but nothing happened.
Overall, my experience with the customer service at this gym was very poor.

UFC GYM in Sunnyvale has been illegally charging me for some months without having my authorization or even a singed contract. When I went to speak with Autumn Fonceca the General Manager asking for an explanation she keeps saying she doesn't know what is happening and can't help me even though I shower her the constant charges to my bank account.
I recommend that anyone who is a member at this gym to be very careful so that they are not also charged for services they did not authorize.

It was ok, until we cancelled, they messed up and didn’t register cancellation and now I have been calling them for more than 2 months to get a refund, their answer is next week over and over again. Emailed one of the managers who was Ricc about canceling my membership. Told me he would send my request to Corporate...I don't know why you just can't cancel my membership like other gyms rather than make up fake reasons to complicate canceling. Waited over a month and no reponse from him nor corporate. Absolutely incompetent, money greedy manager is all I say about Ricc. I came back again to speak to someone in person with hopes of getting issue resolved. I spoke to another manager, Hailey. She was just as incompetent as Rick, making excuses of how I have to pay even more just to cancel. I spoke to other workers and they couldn't help me either as only the managers could help me regarding the membership. It made me tired of hassling to stop the memberhip charges i didnt want so i told my credit card company to block the charges. I'm now getting emailed about my card is getting charge late fees since I'm not paying my membership.
Please avoid this gym. They seem welcoming and caring at first when you seem to want the membership, but once you want to cancel no matter how hard you try none of the employees help especially the managers (Ricc and Hailey) They wasted my money and time and the only solution I had to take unfortunately was to get my credit card company to block my monthly UFC transactions.
What a shame that UFC has managers who are under qualified and inept who lack basic professionalism. It's time they got replaced...

Great gym and classes. Not so much a gym for vain dudes in love with their reflection. Far less bro culture present which makes this gym stand out from most in the area. Just as many women working out hard as there are men much of the time. I think that’s because lots of people go to this gym to learn new skills in the classes which are great and very accessible for beginners. So mostly everyone is there to workout and/or learn instead of checking out their glamour muscles in the mirror. You can just get a good solo workout in using weights with plenty of equipment or take hiit or other classes and get a huge calorie burn while learning some techniques in conditioning classes. Lot of reasons this gym beats out the competition.

Got the membership by going there canceled the next day because found out I had a better deal if I went through my employee benefits program reread the “agreement” I signed that stated I had 5 days to cancel as long as I emailed, which according to the document the “agreement” is the 2 month deposit and all the other fees that equal up to $252 and $49 in 2 months. So I email them the very next day I got the membership to cancel, I receive a cancellation email but notice the cancellation document stated my last access date was in 2 months. I sent another email clarifying that I was canceling within the 5 days that there contract states I have the right too which should allow me get my $252 and not have to stay for 2 months then they don’t reply, or refund, and I haven’t gone to the gym except for the first day I signed the contract. I was told by an employee that bjj open mat was covered under guest privileges, and since I arrived earlier than my friend I could just go ahead and we'd sort out the refund later if my friend had guest privileges.
It turned out that my friend did indeed have guest privileges, so after open mat, I went to talk to the front desk. However, the manager there said a) only machine use was covered under guest privileges, no classes or open mats and b) I had to be there with my friend at check in for guest privileges to apply.
It was only 15 bucks so I'll take the L for one day, but it really felt like a bait and switch. I will not be returning, and will strongly recommend against visiting this gym in the future.

I want to give this gym 0 stars. Signing up for UFC gym is a big regret. When I tried contacting them they kept telling me to come another time and that the concerned person is not there. I signed up for personal training and because of my injury I couldn't continue. I went to the gym and asked Hailey asked to freeze my membership. Even after freezing I am still getting charged. This seems to be their culture. They refuse to cancel accounts. They froze my account and still are charging me.

Signing up for UFC was my biggest regret. I signed up before covid and hardly got to use the facilities due to lockdown. I canceled my account and they are still charging my credit card every month. To get the refund and ask them to fix this error in their system, there are extremely long wait times while they transfer your call from person to another and I never got the actual refund that they owed me. Makes me second guess any new membership I will take.

I called to cancel in August of 2021 and they are now calling me NONSTOP in the middle of February '22 about driving all the way to Sunnyvale to cancel! If you can take my credit card information over the phone, then why can't you cancel over the phone. Such a poor policy put in place to continuously charge you. I really want to love this place after enjoying my first ClassPass class at circuit breaker on Sunday morning. Teacher was great - great energy and it felt safe as there were taped boxes which indicated where each student should stand.
Today, I tried out the DUT class. I really enjoyed the advice and care from the male coach (he was very attentive to teach on form and give us lighter weights). 1/3 of the students were either wearing masks improperly or weren’t wearing one. The female coach also didn’t wear her mask properly and always took off her mask to talk (????). The lack of covid measures really took away from the experience as I was distracted half the time needing to avoid people breathing heavily without their mask.
People outside of the class were also not adhering to mask requirements and nobody enforced this.

I would give zero fi I could. I signed up for a promo that had a special price. And I was told by an employee whose name starts with 'T' that the special price is the price I will pay every month until end of my gym membership. However, I see that I am being charged the regular amount from the second month. I called the gym to talk about it. I even went in person and requested to talk to him. And its been weeks and never got a call back. When I'm there too, I saw multiple people call front desk saying they want to talk to him to get that same issue resolved. Front desk isn't helpful either. This is bad marketing and a really bad way to run a business. I'm disappointed big time.

The environment here is electric, the people are nice and supportive, and the group classes here are super fun. I've been attending MMA conditioning classes with the amazing Coach Dhani and he's so supportive, he's a great coach. I've been making huge gains as a result, strength and cardio. I'd recommend the gym and I'd really recommend the MMA conditioning class with coach Dhani, it's a very fun and intense workout with him every time. He really takes the time to guide me through the workouts and give you little goals to hit when he catches you lackin, it's effective :)

**Manager (Antonio Foster) lacks integrity**
I was a member of UFC Gym since its beta opening. Similar to other reviews here, this review is about this gym's COVID policy.
The operational manager (Autumn Fonceca) and general manager (Antonio Foster) are unresponsive to email. I walked into the facility and had multiple phone calls. Each time they promise action but I don't hear back. They ask for evidence/paper trail of previous interactions but since they don't reply to emails there is nothing further to go on beyond their word.
Details:
I moved away temporarily during lockdown and called multiple times to cancel but was told the membership had already been frozen and no action was required on my part. They suddenly started charging my card again in 2021. I walked into the facility to close the account but the person behind the desk neglected to close it out and I continued being charged for 3 more months. I provided evidence that I had never received email communication about the account renewal and they straight up ignored it, telling me everything "looks fine in their system."
I told the manager if he didn't take action I'd go public with our interaction. He laughed and told me UFC is an international corporation and they don't care about individual reviews. Great - have at it then. I refunded half the cost through my credit card. Keep your $80 and lose out on thousands of dollars in future subscription. Nice move, Tony.

I was a member of fitness 19, Sunnyvale location and the gym temporarily closed due to Covid and later it was permanently closed. And my call to fitness 19 about membership cancellation location were unanswered.
I recently found out going through the account statements that I'm still being charged monthly for the membership fee by a different gym. Apparently the memberships were sold to UFC gym which has been charging monthly without me showing up at their location which is different than the fitness 19 location which I last visited a year ago. UFC gym is not refunding the amount charged for the whole last year!!!
Luckily I am able to cancel their forced membership just today so that there are no further charges showing up in my account statements.

My friends and I (10 of us) all used to love UFC and have been a loyal member for at least 2 years before the pandemic hit in March 2020. 2 months into the pandemic last year, we realized that it’s unlikely that we would be back to use the gym any time soon so we tried to cancel the membership. UFC did not respond to any of the multiple calls, voice mails and emails we made. Since our card stop being charged for a period of time, we were under the impression that our accounts got cancelled successfully until we received a letter from debt collection agency trying to collect membership dues since November 2020. It’s outrageous receiving a letter from debt collection agency having not used the facility since March 2020 and never heard back from UFC. I called the manager and tried to cancel my account, the manager pushed me to continue paying the membership to freeze the account. Now my request has to be sent to their accounting team to review and still can’t be assured that my account gets cancelled. It’s simply ridiculous and outrageous!!!!

I checked my emails and I did receive an email, it was a long email with a lot of unnecessary information (which rarely anyone reads) and towards the end it was mentioned that the billing will resume.
Resuming billing after more than a year is important information, why won’t you just mention that in the subject of email? Or maybe at the top of the email? or maybe send a separate email for that information?
After multiple calls and emails requesting them to refund my money and cancel my membership, they didn’t do it and I had to go in person to cancel my membership. And yeah they didn’t refund the money they charged me for not using the gym.
