More than a few people wear ear/head phones. I figure it’s either for different music or to save their eardrums, or both.

I belong to other gyms so only as a last resort do I go to UFC. I go with ear protection.

I’ve been a member for many years and I have never had any issues until now. When I was trying to cancel my membership. I did the right thing I went in person. I explained that I am moving and they refused to cancel my membership because they need a manager, which I believe is a lie and they did not give me any type of help or assistance or further direction and I can get this canceled so I do not recommend signing up here and hopefully this helps making your decision to join Gym.

Scam & Unethical Billing – Avoid This Business
I am warning others about this company’s unethical and potentially fraudulent practices. I signed up for one month only and made that clear from the start. I cancelled immediately, yet they continued charging my card without authorization.
When I called, they claimed cancellation must be done by email. I followed their instructions and sent the email, but they still kept billing me. Even after multiple calls and written requests to stop all charges, they continue withdrawing money from my account.
This violates consumer rights and may constitute unauthorized billing and deceptive business practices. If this is not immediately resolved, I will report this to the authorities and file formal complaints with consumer protection agencies.

Scam alert: Save your time, money, and stress — stay far away from this place.

We are visiting from AZ and were treated very well by member services, not trying to push us for memberships. We returned the following day to exchange a shirt we purchased for another size and the the girl at the front desk told me I would have to return on a day when another employee was there who knew how to conduct an exchange. I explained we were from AZ and she didn’t make an attempt to find anyone else to assist and shrugged her shoulders, repeating she didn’t know how to do this function of her job. Tempted to give this gym a 1 star for not training their employees however, the gym has everything you could need for any workout

I had a terrible experience with UFC Gym. They kept taking money from my account even after I tried to cancel, and their customer service was unhelpful and dismissive. It feels impossible to get clear answers, and they seem more interested in collecting fees than actually supporting members. Do not sign the contract, and absolutely do not pay them in cash—you may never see that money again. This gym is untrustworthy and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Mixed feelings. They have allot of newer weight equipment but a lot of the treadmills do not work properly, especially in the back row. The music is too loud and I regret not buying better noise cancelling headphones. Sometimes they show the NBA games but they don't serve beer like a true sports bar 🍻. They turn the lights off before closing which is a risk and makes it hard to get your keys, etc. However they seem to have some really fit martial artists that attend the gym & some of the trainers are great which is respectable.

This gym really stands out for its spaciousness, creating a comfortable and airy environment perfect for a workout. Even during peak hours, you'll find plenty of machines and weights available, minimizing wait times.

Recently, the gym has undergone some fantastic upgrades, including adding new, state-of-the-art machines and installing new turf. These improvements have made the workout experience even more exceptional and significantly enhance the facility's overall quality. It's clear they've invested in providing top-notch equipment for an amazing workout.

While this gym is an excellent choice for fitness enthusiasts, there are a couple of areas holding it back from a perfect score. The water fountains still continue to be an issue, often having low pressure or not dispensing cold water properly. Additionally, the gym no longer operates 24/7, which might be a drawback for those who preferred the pre-pandemic round-the-clock access (it's best to check their website for current hours).

Overall, the recent upgrades have made a great gym even better. If they could address the water fountain situation and potentially revisit the operating hours, it would easily be a 5-star facility. As it stands, it's still a highly recommended gym thanks to its space, extensive equipment, and recent state-of-the-art additions.

I’ve been coming to this Gym for over 2 years. I pay over $200 a month for my son and I. The staff was friendly at first at the kids club, there was toys and my son had fun. A staff called Natalie seems like she takes preference for some kids and treats others kids differently. There was girls that were screaming at my son and because her daughter was the girls friend she took part on the other girl. My son defended himself and she made him feel like defending himself was wrong. Respect is given regardless of the gender. I was told by one of the staff way before Natalie came along that my son can bring a handball to play in the blue room when there wasn’t any training going on. We have been bringing the ball and no one said anything until now. Natalie who works at the kids club said that kids can get hurt with the ball which is not true because the ball is soft. She said that the girls can get hurt, including her daughter. There’s a room especially for the little kids where they can play, why doesn’t she keep the little kids separate? I get that it’s her daughter but she can’t put other kids feelings aside just because she’s a staff member and her daughter is also in the kids club. It’s horrible, my son was crying because he said she was mean to him and took his ball away. Natalie is over here hurting little boys feelings. Is it because she has a daughter? Is it because Ofelia is her cousin? Oh yeah, I told her I would talk to Ofelia because the staff says one thing and she says something else. She laughed and said “oh yeah Ofelia is my cousin”. Yes Natalie, Ofelia is your cousin but you work with KIDS. Boys and Girls. Natalie should be more fair with BOTH genders and have a more pleasant attitude.

One of the best gym i experience. I can’t thank my coach (Ariel bellofiore) enough for the impact they’ve had on my health and fitness journey. When I first started, my main goals were to lose weight and get stronger, and with their guidance I achieved both and more. SHOUTOUT to Coach John!!!! I only wanted to try out the gym for techique classes and Coach John makes me want to come back and commit. Even though its a group class, the way he teaches makes you feel like you actually learn something rather than surviving through the classes, which happens a lot for newbie and its really discouraging. He is very knowledgeable and attentive to each and everybody if he can. I attended multiple location classes and coach John classes are the ones I definitely dont want to miss!!!

Update: downrating from 3 stars to 1 star because previous inconvenience of the gym closing based on the whims of the employee working that day added with the gym closing unannounced anywhere, not even on the front of the entrance on random holidays like father's day, employee retreats, etc. makes the gym unreliable and elevates the inconvenience to a deal breaker. Bay Clubs sends special hours emails to their members and posts them on each location's website so that people don't have to waste their time driving there to find it closed. Employee's closing a little early is different from being closed completely without any notice. Time to check out other alternate gym chains. 24 Hour Fitness is old and nasty. Worse than UFC Gym. We're not asking for much. Just be open. In the few minutes it took to update this review, I saw multiple people checking the door, as confused as I was. Why not stay open 24/7 like Planet Fitness that's literally in the same mall, around the corner?

Also, bring your own WD40 or other lubricating oil to help maintain their equipment for them.

Not as stinky as other UFC Gyms and they close 15 minutes early because management is cheap and won't pay their employees to close after guests leave. They expect them to kick people out before they close so they can stop paying them exactly at close.

My complaint is that some things are not refilled or replaced as fast as they may need to be. Sometimes the paper rolls will not be filled for a couple weeks and you’ll have two people at the front desk sitting. There are 2 refill stations for water and 1 has a red signal meaning filter needs to be replaced and the other is orange. The filter should remain on a green light. Sometimes equipment can also go out of service but I’m not sure what the pace is on repairing those. The better thing about this gym is the low crowd on most days. These are easy fixes, just need more attention I guess.

I rarely leave negative reviews but I feel the need to for this instance. Last week, I got my locker broken into and $250 in cash was stolen. The issue isn’t that my locker got broken into (bc there are scumbags everywhere), but rather has it was dealt with and ignored. I filed an incident report and proceeded to call the gym 5 times later that week to talk about what happened. Every time I called, a rep said “Oo, sorry the manager is on break or not in.” It felt like they were intentionally avoiding me. I wasn’t even looking for them to reimburse me, I just wanted to tell them that the latch on the locker was broken while my personal lock was still in tact and for them to fix it so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. At this point I’m most likely gonna cancel my membership bc 1) I don’t feel safe leaving anything in the lockers and 2) There is poor management. It’s a real shame. Just some things to take into consideration if you are thinking about signing up.

I went to the gym already telling the sales team that I might not stay in the country and that I would pay month by month (in person).
I end up going only a month and paying the $60 they asked and after three months not going at all, they charged me $111 on my credit card. No warning, no questions. I didn't sign a one year contract as the "lovely" receptionist said. When I signed and asked he told me it's procedure to get the client's signature and that I could pay month by month. I tried to call them multiple times and they always say the sales team is not there.
Sent emails and got no replies.
I called multiple times being already in another country/waiting for the right time zone and they don't have respect for you.
The equipments on the gym doesn't matter if the service is awful and they will go lenghts to take your money. I didn't give my CC for this by the way. Otherwise I didn't have started there.

I was paying for 100$ membership, and the one with 30$ membership can get to the same classes that you pay extra for, management is disconnected from the what’s going on on a daily basis, the trainers are money hungry, pushing for classes and personal training, and their classes come with little benefit, I tried the classes and the personal training, other than “fight fit” class, it’s all a big scam, they’re selling the name. I've been coming to this ufc for a few years. During peak times, it's extremely difficult to find a parking spot, so I stick to Thursday through Sunday evenings/nights.
Recently, they refreshed the bulk of their equipment and some of their turf flooring. These machines are exponentially better than the old ones. They are even better than the other newer gyms i go to Monday through Wednesday.

Back in 2023-2024, I was being billed twice a month, every month, even though I had just 1 account. Make sure you look your credit card statements. I was billed on DIFFERENT DAYS. For example, charged on the 1st and again on the 15th. This was not the initial month charge where they charge twice for the first and last month, this was a twice monthly charge EVERY MONTH on different days. This was NOT the $59 yearly fee either, which they charge on the 2nd month of your membership. When I asked about it, they said, "Something was wrong in their system" and that "we're not sure why you're getting charged twice." Customers need to be extra careful and look at their credit card statements. I only knew I was being charged twice a month, because I have SMS Text apps on for every charge that gets used in my credit card. So I thought it was strange I was getting charged multiple times a month. UFC did refund all the $$ charges and they were quick and helpful in remedying the situation. They were nice and polite. Hopefully it won't happen to other customers.

Awesome gym but man, the music is the absolute worst. Edm remixes of the most random songs ever. Its so hard to get in the zone if you don't have headphones. Ufc if you're reading this please fix that music. Awesome gym though, clean bathrooms/lockers too.

Fantastic gym. Very spacious, lots of cardio machines, weight machines, benches, dumbells, and barbells. Recently added more, for a total of 12 power lifting cages / platforms. You can squat, deadlift, hang clean, and more on these platforms.

Even when a ton of people are in, I can consistently get a good workout. You do have to be a little nimble to use alternative lifts /machines when they are in use, but honestly it hasn't been an issue for me yet.

They have plenty of classes that look amazing if that's what you're into, but for me, I just have the open gym membership, and it's more than enough for me.

I would say, be aware of the pressure to get with a trainer. They really pushed to get me with one, even though I've been refusing. It's made it a little awkward at times, but I guess you can't fault them for trying.

I've been coming here for years but then I took a long break to take care of my mom. I lost my mom and lost my will. Losing my mom broke me! It took me some time to get my mental health stable. Now I'm back and working on my physical body and I really appreciate the front desk support from Rheyna.
She's truly caring, knowledgeable, professional and really helpful.

I really have fun at this gym. The coaching staff make the workouts really fun and all my gym buddies are great too. Everyone is nice and it's a comfortable environment. I love the DUT classes and they have yoga too!

It's a great gym for both families and individuals. There are shopping stores all around that location, and FREE parking!

There are 3 gyms in one: 1) KidsCare/gym (2) regular gym/like LA Fitness (3) MMA/boxing gym.

They also have a lot of TVs, and reasonably accommodating in changing the channel. And they have a healthy snack area.

My fiancée loves that they have multiple machines for each body part. And the popular ones they have identical machines.

It's very clean, and they have sanitation bottles. They have skilled trainers across the board from nutrition, self-defense, and weight training.

- It gets very loud during classes, remember its a UFC gym.
- Their a cliquish feeling here, think FRAT/Sorority like, but overall, still professional enough to help you.

They tried billing me Hundreds of dollars after I moved states and canceled my membership, never even got an apology for their poor costumer service skills, they even had the audacity to email me threatening to send me to collections but if i came back as a member i would only pay half of the "fees". This is an upgrade if you’re coming from 24hr. The $20 - $30 monthly price difference definitely filters out the people that sit on machines using their phones. People here take fitness a little more seriously. Machines are always working. Always clean. Pretty spacious so even if it’s packed it doesn’t feel like it. Has a smoothie bar. Different sections to stretch or do your training. Staff is consistent with all its fitness classes like kickboxing, hiits etc. You won’t regret it.

Now I go 5 days a week, and that's only possible because of the great kids club that they have. I can trust my two little ones are having fun and being taken care of. (My girls really love Julie in kids club. She's very sweet with the kids!) I also thoroughly enjoy taking their hiit DUT classes. They have become my favorite type of work out, and the other gym members in the classes are so kind, willing to help you, motivate you, not judge you. It's been pleasantly surprising as I've always been someone to think of ufc as intimidating from the outside! I've also had a great experience with Coach Leighan. One of the most motivating, kindest and knowledgeable personal trainers there. You want someone in your corner that truly cares about your health and fitness journey, you can't go wrong with Leighan.

Just over all very pleased with this gym. Giving 4 stars because there's always room for improvement!

Gym itself is fine but it’s poorly managed - Ben and Ophelia are incapable of providing any customer service. My wife and I received a $100 charge for a service we never signed up for and nobody is willing to remedy this issue.

Good atmosphere but be careful and pay attention to billing. I like working out there but for some reason their billing system keeps charging me a service fee and this last time I called they said a manager I'd supposed to call me and never did. They keep making claims that the bank declined the payment so they charged a late fee when in fact if the bank I used declined it they wouldn't even be able to get any type of payment from me. This has put a bad taste in my mouth because the staff isn't fixing there error and wouldn't give me a a credit back and they talking as if my bank made the mistake. So I might end up counseling my membership with this gym. Keep an eye out for your payments. 3 payments in a row I got overcharged and it has nothing to do with my bank like they claim.

Gym is full of money-hungry dirtbags. I terminated my membership after weird charges were starting to be made. The staff there doesn’t care about making customers feel welcomed either. They charged my card 3 times after I terminated the membership & they are STILL trying to charge my card after continuously letting them know that I terminated my membership with them. Hours are not accurate and some staff can be just ignorant. I was looking forward to working out one night after checking their Apple Maps hours and I pulled up to find out that their doors were chained. The employee looked at me and continued to click away at the front desk computer. Had to find out from a leaving gym member that they were closing for the day. Also had problems with overcharging my credit card over the pandemic, almost 6 months of membership fees. :(

Beware when you want to cancel your membership. They’ll give you a receipt confirming cancellation but continue to charge you, then will have you email receipt to then not respond. I have been calling for a week straight to be told “the manager will call you back.” That hasn’t happened yet.

I hate this gym for closing so early on fridays and weekends. The time is not even accurate it says close at 11 on Friday when it’s actually 10pm. They rush you out on weekends it’s supposed to close at 8 but at 7 they start every 5 minutes on the intercom “55 MINUTES LEFT, 50 MINUTES LEFT, 45 MINUTES LEFT” the whole time until 7:54 then turn off all the lights and rush you out so it’s like the gym actually closes at 7. And before Christmas they close the gym so early for their Christmas party. Like you couldn’t wait until 8 to do it? Or at least give members a warning. Please stop closing so early and rushing us out lazy employees. I will work for free and volunteer to keep it open later because this is so annoying and I want to workout later. like why do I have to pay more for a gym that I can’t even go all the time? I have to have 2 membership

DO NOT USE THIS GYM! They will charge you after you cancel services with them and will not refund you!

I began my membership with a trial offer of a month free of the recovery room and an option to cancel if I did not like the service. I cancelled before the free month ended and they said they would need to charge me for the following month but after that I would no longer be charged ( makes no sense when I was initially told to cancel before the month was up to not be charged AT ALL for the recovery trial). After canceling I was charged every month after cancelling the recovery room service. When contacting the operations manager she insisted I show her proof of cancellation even though they had my cancellation form on hand at the gym. After sending her proof of the cancellation, I have yet to hear about a refund to my account.

Do not use this gym. They will try to sell you on unnecessary services (recovery room sucked) like car salesmen and rob you. What they’re doing is illegal.

They will rip you off and take your money. I paid online (it was through health insurance, though, which might make some difference) for a couple months membership to the gym. My husband came and paid a joining fee, not online, in person, at the gym. I received a membership card online and the next day they wouldn’t take it because it was from my health insurance. They said I could only buy a premium membership for $129/month. I guess they would take my health insurance when we were paying money to them. I even received a card via email for ufc gym that even had their address on it. I told them this and showed my card and they said there was nothing they could do about the fact I already paid. What they can do is honor this and let me work out!!!! It’s so easy!!!! Don’t go here!! Look at the other comments about refusing to cancel memberships. Don’t trust them with your money.

Like many others, I canceled my membership, only to have them charge me for 6 months membership fees. I reported it to my bank, who investigated, and reimbursed me...only to have these THIEVES re-charge my account from a completely different merchant teller name. (ABC-UFC gym) My bank AGAIN investigated and returned my money. Now, these grifters call me twice a day, despite telling them to take me off their call list(highly illegal) badgering me about it. I filed a BBB report, notified the IRS about this fraud, and have contacted the FBI merchant division. BE WARNED! These people are money hungry clowns.

Staff at the front never is friendly or answers questions. The females at the front usually get the sales people or other staff members to answer questions, hours are never correct. I have pulled up an hour before the closing time listed on Apple Maps and have been turned away at the door. The gym it’s self is amazing. However, I’ve been working out here for a week and the volume of the music is ridiculous!! Everyday it’s different, and when you ask to have them to turn it down the front desk associates roll their eyes at me and barley turn it down. Which isn’t the first time, I’ve literally seen several other ppl ask, and they do the same thing. I shouldn’t have to hear the gym music through my own headphones during a class or not. If I could give it 0 stars over the music/customer service I would!

I belong to 2 gyms. I joined UFC GYM before the Torrance location opened 10 years ago. I just had heart surgery and did a lot of my cardio work there to rehab after the hospital. I recovered fully and started competing in Powerlifting again within a year and a half.

The place is upkept well and the staff is friendly. The equipment is maintained well and this was the reason why I left several gyms before. I workout 3 times a week at UFC GYM and on Saturdays I go to a special Powerlifting gym to get ready for competitions.
