The gym I’ve been missing for seven years. A powerlifters dream dungeon. Texas bars, cambered bars, buffalo bars, you name it, it’s in here. Larry is kind and passionate about his gym, and the pricing here is unbeatable. It’s wonderful to walk in and not be surrounded by teenagers hogging gym equipment in hords while their phones are plastered to their faces. I’m loathe to tell people about it, because I want to keep it to myself, but, this place deserves more memberships.

I have been a member since the gym was on oak st downtown Ventura and as an active duty soldier this is hands down the best gym across the US. Larry has always been great and communicates well through email and has flyers around the gym to notify everyone about any changes or sales etc. highly recommend this to anyone that power lifts, bodybuilding competitors or enthusiasts, combat athletes; has everything you need to train.

I’ve been training here for over 2 years. Fantastic gym. The equipment is top notch, the gym is always clean and organized, you have 24 hour access, and the sign/up billing process is easy. Prices are fair and there are various membership plans to fit your needs. The owner and staff are very present and involved and truly care about creating a great place to train for veterans and new lifters alike. The culture at the gym is second to none-everyone is polite, no one hogs machines, and any issues of conduct or need for repair is quickly attended to by management. No TVs all over the place, obnoxious music, or constant marketing to buy useless products. The environment is designed for you to be able to focus on your training without distractions.They provide high quality personal training from the best in the business. Can’t recommend this gym enough. Now that I’ve trained here I can never go back to any other.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM. shady business practices, the owner will go all the way around to prevent you from cancelling your gym membership. My fiancé and myself, both had an account that was under his name. When it came time for myself to cancel the account, I was told I could not that he had to be the one to cancel it. my fiancé cancelled the account. He went into the gym and did so in person months later we’re getting calls from the billing company stating that I have an unpaid balance. So I called the gym and the gym owner responds saying my fiancé has to cancel the account. I am confused as to how his account is cancelled why does that have no effect on mine. This gym owner is shady, and he always will be.

Buyers beware
Keep a paper trail like I am and have legal council in mind.
My partner and I went to this gym for a while and it was great to be a part of a small, privately owned business that seemed to have integrity, but due to unforeseen circumstances (us moving) we had to cancel our membership in March of this year, which we gave due notice that same month. It was only until I started receiving collection calls that I realized that we were still being charged the fees for the membership. I reached out to the owner and told him we cancelled in accordance to the contract, that states that either a member or representative, who was my partner who was a member and was also paying for the account, and accruing 200 dollars in "unpaid fees" and he started trying to gaslight me by saying I didn't PERSONALLY HAND HIM A SOLID WRITTEN NOTICE, IN PERSON, a cancellation letter and that an email wasn't good enough, which is ridiculous.
I've seen on other reviews here that this is contradictory to other former members' experiences who have been told the only valid notice of cancellation is via email, so he clearly bends his rules to make it as difficult as possible for people to cancel.
It's a shame that apparently the owner is going through such dire financial straits that he's resorting to underhanded tactics like a corporate gym to squeeze as much money out of people as possible.

Have tried canceling for over six months now called the owner on the phone and talk to him and he said that the only way I could cancel it was over email I have sent him numerous emails and he still charges me every month; this month two charges one for $74 and one for $50, I have now paid this Gym over hundreds of dollars and never have used it due to a move away which was in the contract as a reasonable excuse to get out of the contract, very unimpressed with the business of this gym!

Do not go here. Larry makes it impossible to cancel your membership. He makes you write a letter and mail it. He will not accept anything emailed to him. My husband is active duty military and Larry knew this, and is making him mail a letter to cancel his membership when he knew my husband was only living there temporarily for a work training. He also never mentions that there is a 30 day cancellation fee and you WILL be charged again during those 30 days. I also am trying to cancel my membership and he charged me for 2 months at one time after he confirmed receiving my cancellation request. Larry, you should really make it easier for people to get out of a membership.

This gym is Super spacious, 24 hr, and low traffic. This makes for an ideal workout with the ability to focus on yourself without distraction or waiting for machines to open up. Being underground, It is a very cool space in terms of temperature. The owner is a bit of a grump, so if you avoid him and stick to just dealing with his staff you can't really beat the workout experience

Small gym. It’s open 24 hours. I usually go early in the morning. Everyone is friendly and stick to their own workouts and are respectful. I haven’t had a single problem in the almost year I’ve been coming here even with the transfer of locations. I love this gym more than any commercial gym I’ve been to. Owner is straightforward no bs type of guy. However it would be good to add a better water fountain and make sure the paper towels are stocked up to be able to wipe down equipment.

Do not go here , A friend and I had Several unfortunate experiences going to this gym. When we tried cancelling he gave us a hard time and continued to charge us after we paid the cancellation fee. We also were not informed the gym would be moving locations just a month after we signed up, we only Recieved an email once the location was shut and transferring.
