Been a member of Universal Fitness since 2013. Love the new 2 story location! Equipment is good....they just need more squat racks & bench press! People complaining about the gym being dirty or weights being left all over the place,... well pick up your weights when you're done and put them away! Wipe down the equipment when you're finished! If everybody would do that then the gym would be more organized and cleaner! You're contributing to the problem if you don't put your stuff away or wipe down when you're finished! This gym is great place, for people who are seriously going to train... not just walk around wanting to be looked at or just sit around on the equipment to text.

Just here for a day pass, btw is actually a reasonable 10 dollars. The bad thing about this place is the same problem that goes on at inshape gym just a few miles from here; it would be decent gym if the clueless people who go here knew how to put weights back when their done and not camp out. Your waisting half your workout time hunting down dumbbells and plates strewn across the entire gym floor and put in the wrong place. The weight room is also very limited compared to the space devoted to cardio.

This gym really needs to be maintenance well. The machines are always broken or out of service and worse of all there’s no lights outside where the basketball area is at. I asked the manager when the lights would be fixed he said within a couple days ...it’s been months now and the lights are still out. The money we waste her clearly just go into the employees pocket instead of fixing up the gym oh well back to 24hour fitness.FIX THE DAMN LIGHTS

My son went in with his football buddies. And my son had a 3 day pass that his buddy gave him. And the manager was so rude because he told the manager I can't sign up right now because my parents have to approve it. The manager told my son don't come back for the 2 days left.I didn't have to let you come in. Like really get a life u work at a fitness center.

This gym ripped me off for $155. Never step foot in the gym to work out. I was told enrollment dues could not be returned but the monthly do could; an absolute lie. They kept all of it and sent me to collections without ever sending me a notice. The woman at the front desk was absolutely disgusting no people skills or customer service makes you wonder how she got the job. Picking at her teeth and biting her acrylic nails while dealing with customers. Management refused to speak to me in person said they would call me back never got a call back when I called I was on hold for at least 25 minutes and then they hung up. Called back again to complain about being hung up on and they just hung up without even putting me on hold. In my experience this is the second to worst business I've had the misfortune of encountering.

No longer impressed. I don't feel like going into long details, so I'll try to keep it short:

My wife and I joined up when it opened. Like everyone else is saying in the reviews, the overall maintenance sucks- Mirrors were broken over time, the machines are falling apart, one of the main water fountains along the track hasn't worked in over a year, etc.

Most of the employees are nice and professional, so kudos, but we constantly have bad experiences with a select few individuals with bad attitudes. It seems like every 3 or 4 months I'm arguing with someone over something trite.

Finally, as in other reviews, the billing is bad. Paperwork seems to get easily mixed up, which screws up accounts, and fees start flying. When I updated the credit card on my and my wife's account, we ended up getting charged late fees after the card wasn't input correctly by the front desk. Instead of correcting the clerical error and refunding our money, the billing department basically said tough s***.

And now I'm wasting my time writing a review on Google so other people can be forewarned. This place is too much of a headache for us, so we will be taking our business elsewhere.

It is SO CLEAN! The restrooms, the sauna, the equipment, the floors spot clean. The lighting is awesome for pictures. They have a big variety of equipment. Different classes free all day every day. The music is always fantastic. And the trainers are very nice.

this has to be the worst fitness center ever. The reason I'm writing this review is do to the fact they closed the doors to the panorama city branch with out notification, notice, text,call not even a email. They are really good at collecting the monthly fees but not good to tell their customers that they are closing the doors just a huge GREEN sign that said "Gone"...... And a few other things this gym was always ways dirty and you couldn't get anyone to clean it. If you took the time to read it this I recommend looking elsewhere...... Not worth it even by a long shot. And Brian the manager is not very professional at all. Super ghetto and rude......i submitted my cancelation and they still took money out of my account.... And when asked to be refunded they just gave me the run arounds..

Horrible!!! And very unprofessional!! I had signed up for the universal fitness club in panorama city and it is now closed! I barely signed up a month ago and no one told me they were thinking of selling their contract to Crunch. Did not even receive notification of any sorts that they had closed I only happened to find out until today because I showed up wanting to work out and saw people cleaning out the gym. Beware, they might close on you without any warning whatsoever and sell your contract to a neighboring gym! So unprofessional! Will never join this gym again!

this place had a lot of negative press. Was hesitant to join but they offered me a awesome deal. Over all my experience has been good and they have been working on their weakness such as spacing. The outside gym is great. What I enjoy about this gym the most is that they really are trying to make this a community. They offer so many classes along with boot camps. Running track is great and gives a better workout than treadmill. If you are hesitant to join they have a lot of free passes.

My first gym experience and have been going for a little over 8 months as of me writing this. It's a cool gym, I have gone to others that were cleaner but I feel like I know the faces here so it's more comfortable for me. Certain machines have gone out of order for long periods of time but it seems like they've improved in that department a lot. I never have a problem making payments because I walk in a pay when it's due. My real issue is the workers, I have seen some very lazy ones that don't bother to rerack the weights among other things a worker should do.

I've gone to 24hours and In-Shape in palmdale, trying to find a gym that's not super packed. This is by far the least packed. Wish they had less cardio equipment and more weight equipment. It would be nice of they expanded their outside workout area to allow for other workouts, such as bench pressing and so forth.

This place is ridiculous!!! I needed to cancel my membership I no longer lived in the area had no means of getting down to the gym to cancel. Called for a month straight needing to talk to a manager I never heard back. I had to call my bank and have them cancel all payments for this gym. Not to mention when I signed up I was promised free sessions with a personal trainer I never received those either, on top of that when I called to schedule those no one ever got back to me about those sessions either. Save your money go else where. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. THEY ARE CON ARTIST!! Their associates are inadequate and cannot do a simple task of relaying a message to their manager.. If I could give them a negative star I would. They are so unorganized when it comes to their billing department. I signed up for automatic billing which puts THEM in charge of taking their own money out of my account. Most of the time THEY were late and I would basically have to babysit and monitor my account to see if they billed me. By doing that, they would finally take their money out. But because I would call a day after, it was considered "late," which then caused them to charge me a $30 penalty fee, (and as far as I'm concerned I'm not the only who had this experience). Finally, I quit because in addition to this, a bunch of their machines are out of service and stay that way for months. Even when I quit, signed my paperwork and turned my check in card, THEY STILL CHARGED ME! When I called them they said they had no record of me quitting and it'll be a while before the billing department can contact me about it because they are not allowed to transfer people to that department. CRAPPIEST GYM EVER, AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS WHATSOEVER! Save yourself the trouble of putting up with them. LITERALLY ANY OTHER GYM IS BETTER.

You get what you pay for, but decent place for beginners. I don't like the cleanliness the staff don't enforce the fact that people need to clean the machines or equipment after everybuse. Also even if they did the paper towel dispenser isn't always full. The treadmills are all squeezed together like movie theater aisles. Not enough space for free weight and not enough free weights. I wish it had hammer strength brands for bench presses and other equipment. Only a few squat racks. They do have a day care which is a plus, classes seem to attract their customers, has a juice bar but not sure how good it is. Indoor track is decent but does not alternate directions on different days which would seem better.

The LOUD, THUMPING music is annoying, distracting & not inspiring at all. The place is filthy and a lot of the equipment is 'out of order'. I am definitely canceling my membership and going elsewhere
