My son has been attending USTT La Quinta for a year now. And I must say, my son has learned so much here. Not only does Master Sung teach them the curriculum at hand, but he also teaches them to have Integrity, Respect, Discipline, and Structure. We found the perfect place for my children to express themselves and grow athletically and mentally. After trying all sports under the sun, we found a gem in the desert. What a wonderful place for people of all ages to come and learn personal life skills as well as exercise and self defense. USTT La Quinta would win Best of Coachella Valley Award if there was such a category for martial arts! Prior to moving to the desert, my oldest kid attended a top rated martial arts franchise in Los Angeles, while my younger two went to another martial arts school here locally, so we have experienced different studios, and I can honestly say USTT surpasses them by far. Head Master Sung is truly a gifted instructor, not only for taekwondo and self-defense, but also for respect, self-discipline, and life lessons students will never forget. He actually demonstrates and does all the kicks, punches, and blocks with the students, unlike most other instructors. He also has that rare ability to personally connect with each and every student, and makes everyone, including parents, feel appreciated and supported. Master Sung's assistants follow his lead, and my kids love them too! There is a perfect balance of strictness and fun. And it is not only students that enjoy Master Sung's engaging teaching, but also family members who laugh a lot watching. Lots of smiles and positivity here! The kids and parents treat each other with kindness and respect. Plus USTT is Kukkiwon affiliated, so it is acknowledged internationally. We are so lucky to have Master Sung and one of the best taekwondo dojangs in California and probably beyond!

I used to go here as a child and it tough me discipline and respect. I will always remember Master Sung and Mr M as my mentors and teachers. Not only did teach me self defense but they taught me valuable life lessons. It’s a shame I had to move away. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers Master Sung and Mr M.

This place is a great Taekwondo school. I've been going to this school for 2 years now. I am a school teacher for 6 years now. Based on my experiences as a teacher and my observations of all the Taekwondo classes I've been helping out, Master Sung and all other instructors genuinely care about their students' improvements in Taekwondo skills. They are enthusiastic, energetic, and encouraging. Each class is a well-organized learning climate. Students know expectations and routines in being here to practice Taekwondo and develop other life skills such as discipline, cooperation, self-esteem, respect, and ...etc...
I have seen students from white belts and how they have tremendously improved in Taekwondo skills and other skills such as self-esteem.
I am glad that I have chosen to come to this school and be a part of this family. I highly recommend this school. Thank you Master Sung, Mr. M, and other instructors.

USTT is an amazing taekwondo studio!! It’s a great place for people of all ages to learn taekwondo. I’m a 1st degree black belt and my son is in training for his black belt. Master Sung is a such an amazing instructor and mentor. He really cares about his students and brings out their strengths.

Ustt is amazing experience. I have been attending classes for almost a year now and I personally have improved mentally/physically and flexibility! While my time here, I’ve also seen the newer kids improve. Master Sung and Mr.M are great mentors for the little ones. They are getting a great work out and they teach morals and respect.

After attending several different martial arts studios I ran across this place. I cannot stress how unimpressed I was with the structure or “training,” being conducted here. At least in the younger students classes. To me it looked like nothing more than a day care center. My respects to Master Sung and Mr. M, but I do not believe self defense is being properly taught here. A lot of micro transactions for various non self defense related activities such as glamour shots etc., but nothing really substantial. I would definitely recommend going elsewhere if your children have a genuine need of discipline and learning true self defense.
