I was referred to Valkyrie Yoga by my cousin, and it has truly been a life-changing experience. This sanctuary is far more than just a yoga studio—it's a space filled with authenticity, love, and dedication. The staff, including Agnete, Ross, Will, Margie, Monica, Danica, and Seya, are incredible individuals who genuinely care and offer support in so many ways. I’ve yet to meet the rest of the team, but I'm already so impressed by the diversity and depth of healing techniques they offer, drawing from traditions all around the world.
What sets Valkyrie Yoga apart is the overall energy and the powerful sense of community it fosters. The space radiates positivity, and everyone is made to feel welcome and supported on their journey. Whether you're seeking a deeper connection with your spirit, body, or mind, this place is perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a holistic and transformative experience.

I love Valkyrie- why? The Vibe! I work in a loud, stressful environment- Valkyrie offers peace. Here you will find calm, community, unique, healing, friendly… Each instructor brings their own expertise & individuality to this experience. Not only yoga- but breath-work, sound healing, now a cold plunge, special events, beach walks, did I mention community? Come check it out. I’m so grateful for Valkyrie. I live 20 minutes away & make an effort to get to at least 1-3 classes per week. A gift to Ocean Beach & each person who shows up. 🙏

Valkyrie is a home. Every teacher creates a comfortable space to unwind or challenge yourself. The daily morning classes are the best way to start your day. I also highly recommend the late night Yin classes and weekend Vinyasa classes. Every single class at Valkyrie has benefited my body, mind, and soul. It's a bonus that each class includes some form of light breath work and sound healing! I highly recommend checking this studio out and committing yourself to a longer term membership. The benefits are endless and you will not regret joining this community.

Will leads a wonderful 90 minute meditation-yoga-sound healing. It builds up to some deep stretches, hip and chest openers. Loved the end transition into sound healing with just a touch of Breathwork. 💟

I’ve been going to Valkyrie for a year now and it’s the best yoga class I’ve ever taken. The vibe is so calming but you also get some great body work in. As one of my classmates said: “Valkyrie is where warriors go to rest”

My experience at Valkyrie studio working with Gwen my facilitator during the breath and sound work was out of this world. A truly exciting, rejuvenating and almost logic defying journey. After being guided on breath-work exercises and transitioning into sound work, time and space lost their relevance. Sound vibrations evoked visual patterns and colors, thoughts and emotions became tangible. It was an absolutely wonderful trip which left me rejuvenated, feeling better than when I had first come in and wanting more. Thank You Gwen, see you soon.

This OB Vortex landed in OB one year ago. The amount of healing I have experienced through movement and breath has been incredible. I feel so grateful for this healing hub. My favorite teachers are Will, Seya, Abby, Agneta, Margie, Sophie. They also have events. I had an amazing time at their spring equinox celebration this year even as a heavily pregnant woman. The amount of guidance I was given while practicing yoga as a pregnant person was so helpful. I find that each teacher has their unique, outstanding ability to read the room and guide the class appropriately. Thank You Valkyrie and all of the lovely humans that have held down the unique space.

I love Valkyrie! The owner and her staff have built a beautiful and welcoming space to practice yoga and breath-work. There are plenty of mats, blocks and blankets to go around and a lovely, community-like garden in the back of the studio. The teachers are professional and knowledgable. I feel better after going to Valkyrie and that is why I’ll keep going back. It’s worth it to me to take care of my health and to support small, local businesses.

Valkyrie is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. It is a safe space of community, healing, love, and so much more. The teachers are exceptional and pour their heart and soul into their classes. The energy is superb and palpable. This space is sacred and I feel at home and like a part of a magical family every time I step inside its doors. A special shout out to Abby The Bug. A dear life long friend told me I had to take her class and the moment I was graced with her presence I knew I had found my studio and a second home. Thank you Agnete and everyone who makes this space so special and oh so healing 💕 infinitely grateful to have found this community of light workers and healers

To me the phrase “Home is where the heart is” applies to Valkyrie Yoga in my life. The sense of community created by the founder Agnete, the teachers and my fellow yogis touches my soul. Their Breathwork, Circle and Kundalini Yoga have taken my mind, body and spirit to a level I have never known. I will forever be filled with gratitude that Valkyrie Yoga exists!

This was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a yoga class - and I have attended many. I was interested in the Yin+Connection class because the description stated this was a place to help people feel supported during times of isolation, and there would be an opportunity to connect in a circle. I thought this would be a unique opportunity to feel supported in a difficult time of my own stress and isolation.
I arrived about 15 minutes early and the instructor, "Seya" Speake-Pine arrived a few minutes before the start of class. Only she and I were in the room for several minutes, and she did not acknowledge my presence - at all. No hello, no introductions, just moved a little around the room but didn't need to do much to get ready, as the class did not require any special materials besides regular yoga equipment, and the room was already set up.
As other attendees came in, she greeted each one, hugging several regulars and chatting with them, with obvious excitement to see them. One other attendee who was new to the studio came in and the instructor introduced herself to them. I waited to see if she would introduce herself or say a single word to me - and she never did.
The class went on and it was nothing special - probably one of the lower quality yin classes I've taken. She did not offer any feedback throughout the class as we moved through the poses, other than offer modifications. I understand that not every teacher does modifications, but most notice if a student is struggling with a pose, and there were a couple I could have used some feedback for. I am fairly practiced at yoga, but I always appreciate when instructors pay attention to students when they aren't getting the poses - and this was a small class - about five students.
As the class ended and I was walking out, there was no goodbye or thank you for attending. "Seya" was busy talking to one of her regulars, and I heard her complain that she had to teach a class earlier that week to new people, and she didn't really like that because it wasn't "her people." Great, just what I want to hear from a "community" based yoga practice - that the instructor is into cliques. I've never had an instructor completely ignore me as a human coming into the practice - I don't need sunshine and rainbows, but hello, an introduction, and a "goodybe, thanks for coming," should be mandatory in the type of vulnerable environment that yoga creates - ESPECIALLY in a class that claims to be community focused and supposedly aims to reduce isolation.
Upon viewing "Seya's" website, I saw that she has a collection of practices under her belt, mostly full of new age baloney like reiki, "Past Life Regression Therapy & Quantum Hypnosis Sessions," and has founded an underground "earth school," where "ancient practices intersect with modern day social justice," whatever that means.
I find it hilarious that she says she practices trauma informed care, something that requires education and accreditation, not spiritual nonsense.
It isn't shocking this white blonde lady has appropriated the Hindu name of Seya. Lol.
This place fits into the "vibe" of festival going, "energy field," superficial nonsense that is a part of so much of the OB community. It's a shame nearly anyone can become a yoga teacher - and I'm sure she would say she went through a myriad of intensive training sponsored by whatever association - who cares? If the class sucks because you can't give individual attention or even a mere hello and goodbye to all participants, you shouldn't be there.

Next level! This studio is a sanctuary that embraces every one and supports self healing.
My favorite yoga classes are "breathwork and yoga" by Agnete at Valkyrie.
There, by deeply breathing first, one has an easy time taking different asanas, and afterwards gets to breathe deeply again, as great preparation for a wonderful savasana/final relaxation, with sound healing by a pro.
This three segments don't feel like a structure but rather are received by the soul, mind, and body as a natural flow of life.
Definitely a higher level of yoga practice!
And all the breathwork classes are amazing, each teacher has a unique style and offers a special container, for example, incorporating different modalities of sound and energy healing.
If it will be your first time doing deep breathwork, I highly recommend the sessions offered by the owner Agnete, and by instructor Rus; while all teachers at Valkyrie will exceed any expectations, these two are my very favorite ones.
So healing and spiritual, Valkyrie is a must!

I happened upon Valkyrie from Instagram in my search for a breathwork training and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2015 and have taught and taken class at MANY studios.
Before I signed up for the training, I wanted to take class so I took breathwork with Anthony and then Agnete (the owner). What a special studio where you truly feel welcomed for being yourself. There’s no agenda other than a house full of love.
I signed up for the training and I would highly recommend it. If you’re not looking for a training, the classes here are special and not your run of the mill yoga classes. You will be taken on a journey that is supported by a beautiful studio and facilitator.
Thank you for being here Valkyrie!! 🥰

This place is MUCH more than a yoga studio. It has provided me a safe and loving space for personal growth and healing. The breathwork has changed my life so much that I am now learning how to facilitate through their training program which has been the most incredible experience I could have hoped for. I can truly say that I have found my tribe and am forever grateful for finding this place.

The studio itself is an oasis of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle of daily life. With its abundant plants, soothing lighting, and spacious layout, it feels like stepping into a serene sanctuary. The open feeling of the space immediately put me at ease, allowing me to leave my stresses behind and fully immerse myself in the practice.
But it's not just the aesthetics that make this studio special—it's the incredible instructors who lead each session. Their knowledge, passion, and genuine care for their students shine through in every class. They create an environment that is both supportive and challenging, encouraging each of us to explore our practice and push ourselves to new heights.
The combination of yoga and breathwork has been transformative for me. Not only have I noticed improvements in my strength, flexibility, and overall physical health, but I've also experienced profound shifts in my mental and emotional well-being. The instructors' guidance and expertise have been invaluable on my journey toward self-discovery and self-improvement.
Whether you're a seasoned yogi or a complete beginner, I cannot recommend this studio highly enough. It's a place where you can come as you are, leave your worries at the door, and connect with yourself on a deeper level. Trust me, your mind, body, and soul will thank you for it!

Valkyrie is a space that genuinely encourages internal inquisition and promotes permission to honor how your body wishes to move - the heart of an asana practice. It simultaneously supports authentic connection to all its members; at your preferred space of engagement - cultivating the heart of authentic community. It's a palpable place to feel accepted just as your are, in total inclusion. The classes are incredible, the teachers highly attuned, and the schedule is ideal! The plentiful parking at any hour is an extra perk!

Valkyrie is a very unique and special studio. When we practice yoga and breathwork here, you walk in and it feels like home. You feel safe, seen and are able to just be yourself, freely and without judgement for how well you know the practice. I think this alone sets them apart from the corporate yoga studios in the surrounding areas.

Calling all warriors! Valkyrie is not just another yoga studio in Ocean Beach but the center of the universe for inward discovery.
Agnete Sandahl-Hybertsen has created a community oasis in the heart of OB by gathering a tremendously talented tribe of teachers who guide students to awaken their minds, bodies, and spirits while raising their vibration to effect positive change.
In addition to traditional yoga classes, Valkyrie offers breathwork and sound healing daily. Special weekly and monthly events include new moon circles, open-mic, and ecstatic dance, to name a few.
If you crave an inclusive, inspiring environment of like-minded yogis and truth seekers, welcome to your cosmic connection!

I love this space. The energy here feels so good. You just feel held once you walk through the doors. There are a variety of classes and events happening all the time. The simple fact that they have breathwork daily is huge for me. There is also a beautiful outdoor space to hang out in. There isn't any ego here. You just walk in and feel safe.
