Been going to VF since early 2024. Some changes have been made for the better in my opinion. Lots of machines, free weights, and cardio machines. Only seems to have one downside and that is it takes forever for equipment to get fixed… took 2 weeks for the AC to get fixed during the summer. Workout equipment has been down for weeks and a simple soap dispenser in the bathroom is “out of order” for over a week…. Why is it taking so long for things to get fixed?

Been here for 2 years now going on 3. A few layout changes happened which I love (dedicated leg room where deadlifts happen is my niche & increase of machines with a handful of new ones). The staff is always friendly & knowledgeable if you have any questions.
Frequent microfiber rag changes go on so I'm able to efficiently clean my machines after I'm done reracking my weights.
People here are super respectful, no one causes problems & everyone is there to put in work. You can feel that energy resonate when you step in. On top of that everyone is always willing to help out with a spot, pointers, & suggestions so definitely don't be scared to ask.
I do like the time I go isn't crowded, as It does pick up later in the day (few times that I've went).
Even when there's a group, with the plethora of machines and weights, you can still get your sets in.
Other from that, wake up, show up and get those sets in. Even 15 minutes a day will provide gains 🤝🏾

Terrible service, I joined this gym in August as it is closer to my home. Billing employees in the gym have no idea what they doing they added a random member to my membership without my authorization I have been talking to the staff and they kept saying that they are trying to contact that lady but she is not answering. While I was getting charged to that lady then I complained to them again and they provided me with an email address to cancel her membership, which they could have done before after that I requested a refund which I have not received yet. When I went back to them and said I would complain the staff member said go ahead very rudely.
I wish there is an option of zero star.

I've been to a few gyms, especially in the bay area. I like how clean the entire Jim is.
I also appreciate and like how helpful the staff is in making it easy to sign up to be a member.
This is the gym for me, and I'm going to enjoy being a member at valley fitness.

I signed up for a "month-to-month" membership with Valley Fitness after seeing their advertisement for a $29 monthly fee with "no long-term commitment." However, the reality was very different, and I ended up paying far more than expected. Here's a breakdown of what happened:

Unexpected Initial Charge
When I joined, I was charged $78.99 upfront. There was no clear explanation that this would be part of the cost, and it felt like an unexpected fee. The ad suggested the monthly fee was all I’d have to pay, but this initial cost was never disclosed up front.

Higher Monthly Fee
I was charged $44 each month, which is significantly more than the advertised $29 fee. It’s unclear why there’s such a large discrepancy, and the higher monthly cost wasn’t explained when I signed up.

Annual Fee
After 60 days, I was hit with an additional $39 annual fee. Again, this was not clearly communicated during sign-up. I didn’t expect to have to pay an annual fee after just two months, and it was frustrating to see this unexpected charge added to my account.

Cancellation Process and Additional Charge
After 84 days, I decided to cancel my membership through the Valley Fitness app. The app showed "cancellation pending," which was fine, but the next day I was charged another month’s fee. Apparently, there’s a 15-day advance notice required for cancellation, but this was not clearly stated when I first signed up or during the cancellation process. The lack of transparency regarding the cancellation policy was frustrating and felt like a money grab.

Final Thoughts
What was advertised as a simple, low-cost, month-to-month membership turned out to be much more complicated and expensive than expected. The initial charges, hidden annual fee, and lack of clarity around cancellation terms all left me with a negative experience. I would recommend proceeding with caution if you're considering Valley Fitness, as their pricing and cancellation policies are not as straightforward as they appear.

What kind of gym doesn't have barbell clips? Mismatched weights. All the plates are a different brand and not even the same shape. Dumbells also broken and have huge chucks of rubber falling off. Only 2 squat racks.

Clean and spacious. The locker rooms are mid-size and the showers are very basic. Staff are friendly and check everyone in, no one is sneaking past. So far, all the fellow gym goers are respectful.

I wish they offered locker rentals. It would be very nice to stash my supplies overnight and have them ready vs packing/unpacking every visit. The cleaning rags are always wet and I hope can be replaced more frequently but they honestly get so busy that they would have to replace them every 2 minuets. I can understand the difficulty trying to keep up. Wifi could be improved it’s slow to connect and will disconnect without input.

I would never go to this gym because of the pricing. Their price is 79 which counts that months and the previous month also. I canceled my membership within that 15 days time period, like they mentioned to me but they don’t want to refund me back. It’s totally a waste of money, and you lose money if you canceled between your time period. Never go to this gym. One of the best gyms in the area if you are looking for upping your lifting regimen. They also have a lot of lifting/cardio machines but not much open space for the yoga mats/stretching. Bathrooms, showers, and lockers are clean and well-maintained. Staff is also friendly and welcoming.

It does get busy during the evenings most days and the hours on weekends are not ideal. But if you can work around it or workout in the early morning, it's a solid gym. I really wish they would expand their hours during the weekends then it would be perfect.

There's cheaper gyms such as Planet Fitness if your goal is to simply run on a treadmill (they have A LOT of treadmills), but this gym's premium compared to Planet Fitness is due to having access to squat racks, bench presses, and deadlift platforms. If you're not going to use them then I'd say Planet Fitness is a much better deal for the price of admission and expanded hours.

If you're looking for a step you from Planet Purple, then here it is. Some things they don't tell you up front: They don't accept cash. I tried signing up for a day pass and they wouldn't accept cash. I had called first and they could have told me that. Another thing, they want home, address E-mail, full names, social security numbers (just kidding) just for a day pass. What a joke. They want to put everything about you on their system. Front desk people weren't a help at all. Other than that, its a clean gym for a quick workout. Place does get crowded afternoon so maybe they need add more Dumbbells or free weight areas. Getting collection agency calls because of this Gym..

1) Beware if you are giving them auto pay.. 2) When you cancel, double confirm.. I have been with many Gym's, but not seen such a crooked management or ever one person emailing me.

Problem - Valley Fitness is charging for a cancelled month to month contract account.. Not been to the gym for over 6 months and they are requesting to pay for the 6 month... They send it to collection agency, threatening that they will not cancel the account and it will accumulate and the cost will increase until the non used 6 month is fully paid...

- Sign up date - April 2023
- Contract - Month to Month
- Paid - April 2023 and May 2023
- Cancellation requested in person at the facility - May 2023 (Was going moving out, so Went to Gym on May 2023 and request to cancel - Rep offered $1 to freeze account instead of cancel, stated NO)
- June and July - Took money from Auto pay - Unauthorized - ($150 took from auto pay account)

- Called credit card company and they cancelled the card.
- No Bills or notice received in mails since May 2023..

- SEP 2023 -Got a collection agency call
- SEP 2023 - Contacted them and Mrs. "X" (From Valley Fitness - Not stating her name now) and stated the account was cancelled already.. She stated it was not officially closed in their system, that's why... Explained the situation and request to CANCEL and close the topic...

No response from them after one reply.. Thought its closed..

- NOV 2023 - Received calls from collection agency stating fees increased and I need to pay the whole non used 6 months...

Contacted Mrs "X" again with records and email trail... Now she showing her power with threat that she will not cancel the account at all and will keep have it keep increased until I pay till now - Which 6-7 month non-used..

- Requested her position, Escalation channel, Owner emails - No details provided instead threat..

Unsure who is this Mrs "X" of valley fitness, no customer service, problem solving skills to avoid conflicts - instead elevate and make it complicated, show her power, requested her position, escalation channels - no response instead threat and angry emails...

Best machines, freeweights etc. Very open layout. It's highly irritating they don't have any guest passes or even guest discounts and even more so any discount for paying at a yearly basis. But, there is nowhere else to go that has better equipment. I love that when they took this gym over from fitrepublic they kept it exactly the same. Perfect 👌

Updated review. I just had to drop a star....They use to have cleanliness as a higher priority. They had plenty of hand sanitizer to go around which was awesome. They have since removed ALL sanitizers. A bit disgusting when you see men constantly using the restroom and never washing their hands. I'm too disturbed by this because I love this gym and can't stand going anywhere else, and now stuck trying to wipe every single thing down.

A really great place to workout!!!! Careful with your personals Men's locker room was broken in and all lockers were violated even the locked ones like mine. I have suggested to have visible lockers outside the restrooms. They have plenty of space to do so. I hate carrying my bag around the gym and this process is done in many gyms in Sacramento due to theft issues.

I like this gym, but I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my membership because this place is always super dirty. The floor is gross, when I lay down on the mats I can see hair balls,dust, and even dead bugs. I did the class for 2 years and through that time I always complained at the front desk about how dirty it is, but no one ever did anything, I just dropped the class this month because I can not take it anymore. I love this gym!! Its large, clean and it seems that only people serious about working out come here. I have not run into anyone that is creepy or disrespectful. I joined because of the boot camp classes that are offered which are absolutely amazing!! There are a few trainers but by far Stephen is the best! He genuinely cares about the benefits members get out of the class. He is very watchful of everyone which surely cant be easy due to the size of the classes but he is constantly there making sure no one has bad form causing themselves injury. He has a great energy that gets you motivated to keep pushing thru class. There aren't many trainers that actively engage but Stephen's passion for fitness is genuine. You gotta check his classes out! THANK YOU Fit Republic for bringing Stephen back - BEST DECISION you could have made for your members!!

Side note, my 4 star rating is ONLY because of the bathrooms. Theres always 2-3 stalls out of order and the stalls are always messy. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

One item I’d like to see repaired is some machines with cables have where around the outside plastic area that protects the inner cable....other then that the people who attend this gym are respectful and open to conversation, and last item more people need to wipe machines down after use, I have found to many sweaty benches...yuk......peace

This place is dirty. The machines are regularly broken and once broken they stay broken for a very long time...
The machines are nasty and the employees just dont care. No one wipes the machines down but one reason is because the gym is always out of paper towels to clean. I literally watched a man try to get a paper towel to clean his machine but as always it was empty. One of the younger female employees walked over to the same paper towel dispenser and tried to get one bit of course it was out. Instead of putting some In the damn machine she literally took one out of the trash next to it. Then a few minutes later another guy tried but actually complained that it was empty to staff. It was never stocked while I was there.

The employees dont care at all about clients or cleanliness. All they do is stand at the front drinking their energy drinks while flirting with each other or texting.

Theres no wifi... you better like the horrific rap music they are always blasting because the wifi is " never available ". So you cant even listen to pandora or something non offensive.

They are always canceling classes. You basically have to come during business hours if you want to do a class. And of course most people work during business hours.

Nearly every day you'll hear people complain they are having to fight the gym because they were double charged...

Just stay with or go back to InShape... it's much better, cleaner, and has wifi.
