This ranking is due to membership billing issues continuing to not be resolved since I signed up in August. I have been overcharged since day 1 and have spoke to staff members and managers multiple times to get this fixed.

The gym itself is fine, but my husband and I are going to take our business elsewhere if this isn’t resolved by the end of this month.

I qualify for their healthcare worker discount, and signed up for their basic plan. They didn’t give me the discount originally, so I asked them to honor that. Instead, they signed me up for the more expensive plan. So, I went from $29.99/month wanting to pay the $26.99 for my healthcare discount, to $69/month due to another error on their part. After trying to get them to fix this further and no results, I disputed the overpayment amount with my bank. Due to this, they now say I owe them money and I have late fees on my account.

Resolution is still pending, and I am actually owed $15 due to their negligence.

If they fix this, I will update my review to be a more positive one. If they don’t, they are losing two members and I will dispute the overcharge with my bank and go somewhere else.

Was waiting at the front. desk for 15 minutes for assistance, I was trying it out to see if I would consider switching from the current gym I go to. The machine I chose had spider webs and wasn't working properly, and then the second machine had the knob broken to adjust the angle of the seating and lastly while I was there power cut off twice in 1 hour on a Saturday. I also didn't get a walk through of property like many other gym establishments offers to potential gym members .

This gym really needs mirrors in front of the squat racks. it feels pretty unreasonable that there aren’t more mirrors they are really helpful for training and a safety tool because they let people check their form, squat depth, and bar position which also helps prevent injuries.

I have been a member for about 6 months now and here is what I like and don't like.

Likes
- Spacious Gym with dedicated bench and squat rooms
- No Lunk Alarm anti-fitness propaganda on the walls like Planet Fatness
- 95% of the equipment is in working condition with the exception of a few that usually get fixed in a week or less.
- Bathrooms and Lockers are clean.
- Alot of premium and "exotic" machines Like HOIST brand.

Dislikes
- Lights randomly flicker or power off. This happens about 50% of the time I visit. Sometimes its pitch black with no lights for a few minutes before they come back on. Everyone seems to treat it as a regular occurrence so it must happen often.
- There are a total of 3 cable stations and every, single, one of them is always mogged or taken. They really need to get a few more. I have been at 6am,7am,8am and 7pm. I can never seem to get a cable machine for some chest fly's or crossovers.
- WELCOME TO THE SURFACE OF THE SUN. This Gym despite it being the same size as a supermarket is run HOT. Sometimes I have to leave the bench room for some fresh air because its too hot. Obviously this only counts for summer but summer is PEAK Gym time so you gotta run that A/C.
- Free weights are a Jungle Gym with very little consistency of where they are placed back on the racks but that's every Gym so idk if its a real fault.
- App download is not required but encouraged as you need it to scan in at the front desk for every workout. If not you can give them your phone number but it takes longer.

I’ve only been a member for about a month, and this is already the second time I’ve shown up during posted opening hours only to find no staff present and the doors locked.

If you’re someone who works early or has a packed schedule — and relies on early morning workouts — this can be incredibly frustrating. Waking up early, taking your pre-workout, getting mentally prepared… only to be stuck outside because no one showed up to open the gym. It’s not just inconvenient, it throws off your whole routine.

I joined this gym for its advertised accessibility, but so far, reliability has been a real issue. I really hope management addresses this, because it’s hard to stay consistent when you can’t even count on the gym being open when it’s supposed to be.

Gym is OK. There are several machines that have been out of service for a while now. My biggest gripe is that they do not turn the AC on when it is hot outside and there is a total lack of fans and air movement. I come to the gym for the cardio machines, not the weights, so it is rough.

This is a great gym, with helpful staff and a large selection of weights and machines. There are lots of squat racks and deadlift platforms, so I've never had to wait in line for anything, which is unlike most other gyms around here.

One critique is that they have tons of blank walls and barely any mirrors. Especially in the deadlift and squat section, having mirrors there would greatly help one get their form right. Not a huge deal though.

I do wish they wouldn’t play Law and Order at 5am in the morning… seeing a kid bagged up and murdered is super disturbing and startling at that time. I tried to look elsewhere but when you’re on the treadmill and they face 6 TVs with two of them on law and order it’s hard to get away. I’m not saying pick a cartoon, but something other than murder would be appreciated. When I spoke to the woman at the front she said another customer liked it and it’s on at all the gyms… I just feel like my vote should count for something too. Potential to be epic. Started out with the "platinum membership." Covid happens, change owners and now I can't bring a guest n price goes up few bucks. Ok...I guess. Gotta keep the lights on. Then a 3rd owner takes over. Zero notice and my membership nearly doubles. Always skeleton crew and understaffed. I asked 6x+ if some1 could inflate the exercise balls.

Turns out they can't! Not even the maintenance guy that was actually there fixing one of the almost always broken cables could do it. I guess I need to take my pump and a flat head in to do it myself. I should send THEM a bill 🤣.

Staff is great! Tons of equipment. They recently added even more. In my opinion they could use some more plates. The ammount of machines they now have is too much for the weight plates they have. Especially when people use 10+ at a time on leg press alone.

Biggest and best in town but definately some things can be improved. I worked in the industry professionally for 15 years+ in 5 different cities. The potential here is great, but they definately can be better.

Excellent amount of barbell equipment; free weights (dumbbells) adequate but the area needs better lighting. Amount of cable equipment is inadequate for the usage they get and I often have to skip that part of my workout. Cleaning on the weekends is a big problem as the non-English speaking Hispanic woman barges into the men's locker room around 4 pm whether or not guys are in there changing, showering or using the facilities, and sprays so much chemical cleaner around that the fumes are almost intolerable. This latter situation is totally unacceptable and I may cancel my membership over this alone.

Went here a few weeks ago to get a tour and a feel for the environment. They basically wanted the rights to my first born just for a 2 minute walk through. I walked out before getting my walk through after 5 minutes of questions.

These guys were open during COVID and were a lifesaver! Their staff is friendly and the gym itself is relatively clean and organized. Plenty of machines and weights but it could use more benches.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a cheap membership that isn’t Planet Fitness or In-Shape!

Nice Clean Thought to be at "FIT" but close to County services. As convenient as they are am Totally apprehensive to go back to as the last time I went to the County Employment Center was shocked to see the availability of EVERYTHING I had been lacking from My Team of Heros. Shocked yet exuberant I proceeded to sit at a desk top Apply for much needed and lacking Loans, for my Unles estate...Never received Covid relief payments , Gov. assistance and hopefully get an answer to VA benefits that My Aunt and Uncle had coming Printed everything I got accomplished in an less than an hour Proceeded to my Dental appointment and asked what time the facility was open until Front desk lady said 5 PM as I walked out Made my final impressions at Redwood Dental in yh RUUM building left a very detailEd confidential letter with Dentist Kessler, walked to Quail Park Senior Center to confirm status of last application left with them Only to be told VA benefits don't/won't play the roll previously told . . So walked 5 min back to employment center now 3:30 pm but the doors locked and lights turned off. Only 45 minutes after being told 5:00 they would be open until ? Looked at joining parking lot and seen the same cars some with county plates were syill present as if all the employees that were there and in helped me now we're in the back room, purposely to prevent ME from obtaining there much needed free services. The following morning I returned via on foot to continue my progress and was unable to access or proceed and despite bringing 3 helpers over to the same desk top No One could help me get back on what I had started. So I am left as helpless as I came in to he day before REALLY?

This place is filled with a management that will not make it easy for you to quit your membership. I was a member for years, the month I tried to quit they charged me an annual fee + a monthly membership. I said I am quitting so I will not pay for this, they charged me anyway and did not approve my claim with the company to refund me. I signed a form to quit the gym. I contacted my bank who gave me back the money, they called me and told me they are voiding my form to quit the gym because my bank took back the money and they will charge me monthly still and they will send my annual fee that my bank took back and will send to collections. They said they have only a few days a month where I can quit and not be charged an added fee.

For $69 I will not deal with this and no collections would take this seriously. I gave them a firm talking to and paid.

I have never had a worse experience. Please go to planet fitness or anywhere else where they will not take your money.

One of the best gyms I have worked out at. The staff is super nice and friendly, there are many platforms, double sided power racks, and many barbells to use. The gym is relatively clean and also encourages everyone to clean up after themselves which is nice. The prices are super good for what you get out of the gym, personally the best bang for your buck if you are wanting to get into working out. Although it is weird to me still seeing fit republic signs and the green paint around inside it isn’t really a bother. Overall a great gym to workout at, and I love it.

It’s a nice location I remember going to Chuck E. Cheese next door when I was a kid😂 the heavy bag is a bit low like it’s for little kids and I constantly see roided out individuals flexing in the locker room area like it’s a trend but it’s okay I’ve probably had a good time with their girlfriends because they have issues😂. Well, I used to really, really like this gym and left In Shape to come here but my experiences lately has driven me to sometimes hate this gym. First off, you have slowly continued to raise the monthly membership fees - I get it it - inflation and all but please don't blame COVID for doing so. Also, THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH 45lb plates! Please, please invest in more! Looks like you guys purchased additional free weight benches but you still need at least 5 MORE, plus you have the room for them! Thirdly, OVERCOWDED! I honestly feel this gym is overbooked, plus you guys allow people to workout in groups of 5 or more which causes heavy congestion and long wait times for equipment to be available. Lastly, and probably the most annoying part of this gym is the fact that there are mirrors in the locker rooms, causing all the wannabe bodybuilders to flex and get in the way of the other members. Please, please consider taking down these mirrors. Having them on the gym floor is good, in the locker room - BAD!

1 star review for a gym who blatantly infringes on the use of a name of a pre existing business in Visalia. The Valley’s Gym Fitness has been in visalia for 30+ years, and this organization is attempting to infringe on that name by calling themselves “Valleys Fitness.”
County records prove the name was pre existing before Fit Republic changed, and the owner fails to respond to cease and desist letters. All will come out in due time though.

I just moved here from out of state, looked around at several gyms in Visalia, and signed up here. I was looking to train legs on the plate loaded equipment a couple of days ago, and there wasn’t enough plates to use the machines. I went up front to complain, and was greeted by the manager, Aly, who very politely & professionally listened to me, then before I could even get started on my first set on a different machine, she was on top of it, had all available hands on deck, and retrieving all the main workout room plates from the strength rack area in back. I want to let her management know that I was not only able to use the machine I wanted that day, but the weights have been separated, and kept in their respective areas ever since. They have some really good equipment here, and it helps to have good management on staff.

My two sons had memberships with this club. Both memberships were cancelled May of 2021. Fit Republic continued to take monthly and annual memberships dues. I had to go in person on 3/29/2022 to request cancellation, signed documents and received emails same day that cancellation had been process. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE AND THE MANAGER ALLY WAS VERY RUDE TO ME WHEN I WAS THERE, SHE SHOW NO RESPECT OR UNDERSTANDING TO MY CONCERNS.

Gym staff is very rude. This gym has to have one of the worst customer service out there! Not only do they have the worst service but they sometimes even randomly charge you. I’d say go to another gym, save yourself a hassle, and save yourself some money!!! Worst gym ever!!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM!!! Go to another gym, I’ve never had a worse interaction with staff ever! I signed up my nephew for a trail that was given to me as a certificate for 6 months with Fit Republic before the 6 months were even up I started getting charged but at that point we no longer were going to this gym so we had to drive 30 minutes to this location to cancel the account. We were told all we had to do was pay a cancellation fee and we’d be good. I was fine until January when they randomly started charging me for an account I was told was cancelled. I called the front desk and asked to speak to a manger but instead talked to an employee who kept trying to get me freeze an account was told was cancelled, it was the most frustrating conversation I’ve ever had in my entire life. I will tell everyone I know not to go to this gym to instead drive as far as needed to go to another gym. If you want to deal with random charges or the most difficult communications then go to this gym otherwise I’d go elsewhere

This is me and hubby's newest gym we are apart of. We pay 40 a month for both of us and its just a basic plan, that doesn't include classes. They have a good selection of work out areas though.
They have a astro turf section with a arms stand, so that you can do standing push-ups and pulls ups, stretching, they have usable medicine balls, and long heavy ropes for your arms as well.
They have row machines, treadmills, arm machine's, and a weight room section as well.
The bathrooms are open for public use as well as the locker rooms.

Pretty good gym but has cons. Gets a bit busy and they don't have a lot of bars or grips for their back machines like the row or pulldowns. And half of them don't even have clips to connect anything too. Also I'm not sure if it was the owner but he looked like a cracked out alcoholic. Really red in the face and talked down to me. Kind of rude. But besides that it's decent. Basically it's Planet Fitness with a different name and more weights. And cost 10 extra dollars even though they close at 10 every night.

There is no way to get your one day free pass. Even when I called they said that I would have to get it at the location so when I got there they wanted to charge me $10 for the one day and could only pay with a card. Avoid at all cost

Corporate ran... at this time you won't know if they stay open or not. Masks are mandatory and people wear dirty masks that pollute the room with bacteria and fungus from reused and not clean. Equipment is more set for lighter lifting. Needs d bells above 100lbs and leg machines that hold more weight as well.

I was a member of the Tulare gym that shutdown. Without any prior notice or my permission my membership was transferred to the Visalia gym.

The Visalia gym will not cancel my membership over the phone or thru email as a matter of policy to protect their members (according to them). But as a franchise they will accept unauthorized transfers from Corporate that certainly don't seem to be in my best interests. No courtesy call, no email confirming a transfer, absolutely nothing other than the continued withdrawal of funds from my account.

I requested a call from the Visalia manager who seems not to have the fortitude to respond directly but instead sent an email advising me to contact two different groups to cancel and request a refund. He further noted that they are busy handling requests so there maybe delay. I sent a request 4 months ago!

The Tulare gym was middle of the road, the staff more interested in their cell phones than members, so my complaint here is mainly about unethical behavior and onerous policy to make cancellations difficult.

p.s. To the manager in Visalia: You misspelled patience.

Fit Republic has a positive atmosphere. I really like their Hoist equipment. It's a large gym with alot of equipment, free weights, cycles, stairmaster, treadmills and kick boxing bags. There is a room with massage therapy beds which will soothe your aches and pains and put you to sleep. The women's locker room has lockers, restrooms ( of course) and two showers and one handicapped shower. Unfortunately, the handicapped shower is broken and needs to be fixed to accommodate those that need it. Overall, this is a good gym which will inspire you to do that, one more rep. It seems to cater to a younger crowd but you will see older people working out as well. Members are respectful and friendly. You'll like this gym.
