This was my main gym for years, but lately the route quality has taken a massive nosedive. Specifically climbs set by RAM are usually not fun and generally just kind of unpleasant.
Somehow most of RAM's routes seem to somehow be simultaneously uninteresting and unnecessarily difficult/uncomfortable. I never feel accomplished at having finished his routes, just annoyed.
This is more than just a matter of his routes being mislabeled as easier than they are, it's a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes climbing fun.

Too small and narrow areas to get to the different bouldering routes. Way smaller compared to Cliffs of ID or Class 5 in Torrance.

As a yearslong member, I think itβs a shame that Touchstone is punishing the very workers who ensure the most important aspect of any climbing gymβsafety. Itβs absurd to make employees pay for their own gym access when they need to maintain a high level of climbing skill as a job skill. Increased routesetter workload will inevitably lead to staff and customer injuries. The staff makes the gym at Verdigo, fostering a community feel there. Please do better by them!

Verdigo is probably my favorite of the touchstone fam. Staff is pretty cool, the people are awesome & super welcoming. Setting is SUPERB! Only reason I can't give them 5 stars is because they don't have the sauna πͺ. But they do have a kilter so I would give them 4.5 but it's not an option.

Good spot. The setting was good, a little on the soft side. I was surprised to see they had towel service for the showers, thatβs a plus. 4 stars really came down to value. $30 for a day pass is steep. No first timer discount, no first responder discount. I would climb here again though.

Very old school bouldering gym. In the plus the gym portion is good and a good plus for the kilter.
However, there is a lot of slabs and few overhang. This is really old school walls with dirty holds. The fingerboard is always a fight since there are only 2 boards and super close to one another.
Not bad but could be better.

Its a small gym but parking is usually very easy. only two showers but ive never seen issues from this. overall its better than Hollywood but worse than the Post. absolutely worth stopping by because its often completely empty.
For tall ppl they have a nice 9ish foot pull up bar unobstructed, something missing at all other touchstone locations. (for sure the Post, Hollywood, are missing this)

I live in burbank less than 7 min drive from this gym but ive climbed there less than 5 times. Theres not a big variety of angles for the walls, it gets super crowded, it kinda feels dark there, it feels like a long alley that the walls and people r trying to suffocate u (im being too dramatic lol), people climb way too close to each other. In short, i never had the desire to go climb there, instead i go to Hollywood boulders or the post to climb. On the bright side, it has a kilter board, parking is plenty in burbank downtown.

In my experience, this is the smallest of the Touchstone Climbing gyms, but the space is great. The employees are nice, and the area is clean. They rotate the holds often enough that it feels fresh, even though I go twice a week. Street parking is always available, as long as there isn't a street market or event, and there are great post-exercise restaurants nearby. Because there aren't other bouldering gyms nearby, this one gets really crowded, especially in the evening on week days. Be prepared to wait your turn and take breaks. I prefer to get there when it opens on the weekend.

Clean gym with friendly staff. The problems on the wall have a lot of variety and are changed regularly. There are problems for all levels of climbers so even if you never climbed before this gym is a great place to start.
Also, there is an area with traditional weight equipment which is also a great plus.

I have been going here for over two years, and I had to freeze my account bc my husband lost his job. So I went back in to unfreeze my account, and they told me I could not do that since I paid the freeze fee in March. I froze my account on Feb. They said they could not reactivate until the first of April. They told me I could pay for a day pass. I asked if I could cancel my membership and rejoin, and I asked how to do it. First the staff member acted annoyed. Then staff member just told me to fill out the ipad. I had no idea what I was doing, and I just stood there trying to figure it out. I had to tell the staff member I had no idea what I was doing, and ask for help even though he watched me struggle. There was no one else checking in, and the staff was talking to another staff member. I had frozen my account before due to injury, and I went back in to unfreeze the account with no issues. I prefer to go to this gym bc I feel comfortable lifting and climbing here unlike other gyms where there is major bro energy. Iβm not sure what the point of making some feel small is, but I definitely felt left feeling very small and with a new perspective on this location. Itβs like any other gym, and I no longer feel comfortable here.
I totally understand company policy. I know the responsibility was on me bc I was the one who choose to freeze my membership, but I just wish the issue could have been explained to me kindly. I wish when I went to use the ipad I could have had some form of assistance. I started going here to cope with my anxiety, and it has really helped me with this. This gym has been a place I so enjoy going to for the welcoming atmosphere and community, and I usually love talking with the staff. This is a first at this gym, and I just feel very uncomfortable returning. This experience has had negative impact on my mental health. I donβt know that Iβll be back. I hope to return, but Iβm just not sure I should based on this experience/the staff.

Handholds that make love to your digits. Mats that invite you to stare at the wall for minutes on end, contemplating exactly "where did I go wrong?" Clean facility. Routes here are a little stiff. Very well maintained. Bathrooms are always very clean and restocked. They have showers, lockers, a table and chairs, a moon board, cardio workout area and a weight room. They don't change the routes too often so you can work on a route for quite some time. No top roping here, but they have nice overhang routes. I also really enjoy that the floor is basically all thick padding with a small concrete walk way in the middle. There's also cubbies underneath benches in the walk way to stow away belongings. You can also rent or buy gear here. The only bad part is that I think the price for entry and membership is pretty expensive, but with membership you have access to all touchstone gyms.

I frequent the Arcadia Hangar 18 and checked Vertigo out for the first time yesterday. Super clean and the staff was great. I definitely agree with some of the other reviews that it's graded pretty (in some cases very) soft but I think it depends on what kind of climbing you're looking for. For indoor climbing Vertigo definitely rewards fun and thoughtful technique and not just pure strength. Great time!

I LOVE verdigo boulders. The facility is welcoming to every level of climber- from beginner to human spider
monkeys. The staff is super rad, they take out the time to get to know you and are always willing to help. The camaraderie amongst the climbers is infectious and supportive, which sets the tone for an environment to try anything from a v0 on! There is a ton of variations in the sets, and a workout room in the back that also offers classes and workshops. iβm super stoked to be apart of the VB / Touchstone family.

Pretty nice bouldering gym. 3 stars because I like to go back and forth between boulder and top rope and there is no top rope here. They do have a cave though that is pretty epic.
The training gym in the back is large for a climbing gym and is stocked with everything you could possibly need. From machines to weights to yoga equipment, they've got all bases covered.
$25 for a day pass, so more expensive than other gyms in the area. I have my own gear, so I didn't rent. But one person I was with forgot her shoes and couldn't climb at her normal level because there was zero traction left on the rentals (which were also literally falling apart at the seams).
I do love that they have an all gender bathroom! And the staff was very nice. But the place was packed on a Saturday morning, almost from the time they opened their doors.
Not sure I would return here unless I was going to an event.

Im a regular climber visiting this place for the first time, and I thought the gym was good! The problems are a little soft but pretty well thought out and flowed well around the v4-v6 range. The gym was clean and people were actually friendly. There arenβt as many inclined walls as the other gyms and the overall level of climbs was on the lower side, but it was still fun and challenging enough, and Iβm sure newer climbers would be less intimidated with shorter and flatter walls.
I enjoyed this spot more than LAB or Hollywood Boulders as a first impression.

Used to be pretty solid but over the past month they've basically turned into such a specialized club that you can't even take advantage of your expensive membership. The same puzzles have been up forever, they replaced one of the largest walls with only jumps (which very few people can do), and after driving half an hour to climb today I found out that most of it is closed due to a competition 2 days in advance.... So even if you aren't interested in competing you still can't climb. After months of construction, five trips with super limited options that I've already completed and now the majority of the gym being closed for super-specialized advanced nieche things, I'm really not sure it's worth it.

I had a membership here for about a year. It's a great place to go for a fun, goal-oriented workout. Bring friends, climb, and grab a bite in DT Burbank afterwards. They have shoes and chalk you can rent if it's your first time. And if you want to augment your climbing workout, they have cardio equipment and a weight section, as well as yoga classes. The staff are also very friendly and helpful if you have any questions.
Here's where I'm docking points: it's a little smaller and doesn't have as much wall space as a few other locations such as L.A.B., and as such, can get pretty crowded if you go on a weekend morning. See picture.
The price of membership is also pretty steep. It was $81/month when I joined and they raised it to $84/month soon after. Cool.
Here's why I quit: I thought I could climb AND get some cardio in, but they only have two treadmills, and only one of them works. The other has been out of order for months, despite complaints. I can't justify spending that much per month for the *chance* of getting to run.
I'd recommend getting a day pass ($25) and seeing if you like it before signing up.
