My review:

The gym recently changed the lighting in the workout area from classic white light to a multi-color setup (orange, yellow, blue). This lighting is extremely bright and causes migraines, tearing, and disorientation, especially due to the reflection from the floor. I tried to communicate my concerns to the staff, but their response was that this lighting is permanent. At this point, I am planning to cancel my membership.

The reviews kept me from this place for a while. I learned a good lesson though, complainers and highly critical people are the main people that leave a review. I have been a member now for almost 4 months and there are always plenty of towels everywhere, well stocked “extras” in the changing rooms, and everything is kept very clean. I enjoy the classes and love the variety of equipment. The spin classes are addictive and the kids program is solid. I used to be a member of Lifetime and I enjoy Villa Sport more.

Updating my review since 2 years later.
Customer service is non existent. Also, be aware of cancellation fees, they tell you cancellation is easy but don't tell you about the hidden fees that you still have to pay afterwards. Also, the gift cards offered upon joining memberships do not exist. I was promised them but never received anything even after constantly asking at the front desk. They just tell you "wait for a welcome email"
', but
when it never comes and you ask again, they say "it's expired now". Ha! convenient.
The gym is beyond dirty, rules of the gym are not enforced and some machines are consistently out of order. I cannot justify paying for membership here when it is so poorly ran.
I can't forget to mention the fact that they love to overcharge you. Several years ago, when I was under a family plan with my parents, they told me that once I turn 23 l can no longer be on the plan - fine by me. However, they continued charging my parents for my spot even though it's been canceled. The same thing happened to my younger sibling a year later, but my parents were being charged for over 6 months even though it's been cancelled. It took my parents many efforts to even get someone to help and get their money refunded.
I would avoid this gym and I used to love it. My family joined from the first month they ever opened in Roseville, but it has downgraded in customer service big time.

We came with children, they charged us very expensively, supposedly there was no permanent customer number, but we had previously come in for $30. The admins seemed to be asleep, they somehow didn't care, why did we come in before, and now the rate is double???? We will never come here again!!!!! We were very upset, the children cried, it was terrible.

I mainly want to share my experience with the Kids Club. My son has separation anxiety, and at other places it was always a struggle. But here, the Kids Club staff were extremely nice, patient, and caring. In just two days, they helped my son feel comfortable and adjusted. The manager, Ms. Michelle, is very kind and supportive. I’m so grateful for the wonderful team here!

Don’t join. They make it impossible to cancel unless you waste your time walking inside the gym and talking with someone. The online requests don’t work and then they want you to come how prove you tried to message them. Plus, the month to month is bogus because if you do cancel you get charged $85!! Non refundable,

We signed up for Villa for the summer and asked the team member if we could do month to month and if there were any fees associated with canceling and we were told no. We were now charged $85 for canceling before 12 months, which the cancellation language is buried pages deep in the contract. Do your research and read fine print because the staff misled us.

I don’t think anyone should become a member of this gym. They continued charging me and my wife even after we canceled our memberships. I tried contacting the manager at the Roseville location, but she never called me back or even replied by email. Instead, I kept receiving numerous emails from their headquarters demanding payment, despite my cancellation.

This gym misleads people. I recommend joining Lifetime Fitness instead, it is not only a better established company but also an honest one.

This year was my first time signing up with Villasport — and it will definitely be my last. From day one, I noticed how filthy everything was: the pool water was cloudy and dirty, the showers and tubs were disgusting, and the whole place felt neglected.

Just five days after swimming in their pool, I broke out in painful pimples because of the filthy water. When I went to cancel my membership, the staff member assured me I wouldn’t be charged another penny. They told me all I needed to do was fill out the cancellation form and that was the end of it. I trusted them — big mistake. The very next month, they still took money from my account.

This place is a complete scam. It’s dirty, poorly maintained, and the water is unsafe. The staff either has no idea what they’re talking about or they deliberately lie to customers, just to keep taking their money month after month.

Save yourself the frustration, the health risk, and the wasted money — avoid Villasport at all costs.

This sports complex is not as good as advertised. The pools are dirty and cold. Last year, in two months, I had to leave 7 times (someone pooped in the pool and the pool was closed.) The jacuzzi often doesn't work, the water is cold. In the family changing room, the handles are torn off and the locks haven't worked for a year, they were only recently installed. The showers are dirty. I brought my children to childcare and no one ever measured their temperature. I saw how they send children there with coughs and runny noses and no one monitors it. I brought my baby when he was 2 months old and exactly 24 hours after childcare his temperature rose, he was the only one in the family to get sick. In four years here, I have seen a lot, but somehow I turned a blind eye to all this because I don't have far to go and it seemed convenient. But over the last month at the pool, lifeguards have made a remark to me many times about my youngest daughter, that she can't be in the pool without me (because she's wearing a life jacket, so it's dangerous?!! Can she drown in a life jacket???? Okay! I agree! I have a small child of 4 months, so I can't be in the pool near my daughter all the time and keep him in the sun all the time and sit with him under an umbrella and watch my children! I control everything and see, sometimes I go to them by the water. But over the last month, lifeguards have been harassing me every time I've been at the pool, they've come and made a remark. Either she's crying, or she's swimming in the wrong place, or she's jumping, etc. I've always had to leave for home. And there are children in the pool without parents and without a life jacket and no one is watching them, so that means it's normal, but my child is more independent and active, so he needs to be touched. Are you serious? Are you more worried and watching my child than I am? Don't make me laugh me! last year there was such a situation in the pool there are witnesses, a boy of about 3 years old was drowning in front of the lifeguard and he did not even move! my friend and I grabbed this child from the water then his little one ran up. everything worked out so the safety here is so-so. I have never had problems with my children at the pool, I always looked after them, I always cleaned up after myself and the children, I treated everyone around me in this complex with respect. I paid a lot of money here, the service here is not worth it. over these four years, about 8-10 of my friends and acquaintances have joined this complex on my recommendation. I regret this!. I am disappointed with the attitude of the person to the clients

I’m a senior citizen and joined Villa 3 yrs ago for their water fitness classes. I was and am still impressed with the facility overall. However, my experience with their customer service isn’t so positive. I’ve taken water fitness classes for over 20 years, in 3 different states. This facility is the only one that expects class participants to prepare the pool area for classes, having to move the lane dividers prior to each class. In every other facility I’ve been a member, the pool is made ready for classes by the club employees.
If I had a dollar for every time the pool heater was inoperable (or just turned OFF) at this facility I’d have a few free months of membership due me. When the pool has been closed due to cleaning, etc. class participants are rarely notified until they’ve changed clothes and go out to the pool. It doesn’t require a brain surgeon to understand a facility like this should have protocols in place that require having the first and last employees on site check pool temps daily. Many seniors attend these classes and cold water is hard on arthritic limbs. Villa Roseville definitely seems to prioritize the needs of the younger clientele. If a pool has to close, a sign notifying attendees at the front desk, and at least in the doorway to locker rooms should be prominently posted. This facility does neither, forcing members to change clothes only to find out the pool is closed once we’ve arrived at the pool. It may sound like little gripes, but the our concerns add up and are ignored by upper management. Every concern is responded to with “any change has to come from corporate “. No offer to actually address our concerns to corporate or to follow up with members. There seems to be some challenges finding instructors, and we’ve heard this facility is the lowest paying for water fitness instructors in the Roseville area. I’m hopeful this review will provide some awareness to “corporate” wherever and whomever they are.

Great for kids. Working out for me and hubby is enjoyable. Lots of options for cardio, weights, machines, TRX. Many more. Organized classes, including yoga, spin, pilates. Daycare for the kids is very impressive. Locker rooms for adults and for families. Probably the only reason why I am not giving this gym 5 stars is that primarily the family locker rooms are not kept up. Granted, users should pick up their towels off the floor after using them. It's a collective effort to keep clean. Toilet paper is often out in the bathrooms and messes in the toilet areas that aren't kept up on. There seems to be an attendant in each of the three dressing areas. One safety issue is hairdryers next to sinks in the family locker rooms. I personally witnessed a kid using the hairdryer, turning it off and dropping into the sink. (No water in the sink). Seeming to be slow motion as it was happening, told the girl no, but she was oblivious to me , proceeded to drop it in the sink . Thankfully, it wasn't on, and the sink wasn't full of water. The hairdryers are all plugged into the wall at all times. This has been brought up to 2 separate employees, last time being today. Hopefully, they will remove the hairdryers and relocate to a safer location.
What else? The club has a newly opened recovery area for an extra $49/ month. Offered are some worthwhile choices.
One of my favorite areas includes the steam room and hot tub. Feels like a spa session.
Great value for the price. I'd love to edit and give 5 stars.

Pool area is dirty. Run out of clean towels, close the food court whenever they want. No hours posted for food court. Teenagers are running this place. $339/month for a family of 5! This will be the last time we sign up here. In shape down the street has better service and is half the cost.

From the moment i entered the parking lot i was astounded by the size and modern aesthetic of this facility. The staff are extremely professional and healthy. The facilities are top notch with a lot of the latest equipment.

The integration of the app for reservations is done well. All the pools are heated. They have both indoor and outdoor pools.

The recently added a recovery spa. It is an additional cost per month, but it is still cheaper than going to use the available facilities eat a more specialized center. They have 2-3 hydro massage chairs, 3 red light therapy beds, 3 infrared booths (2 individual and 1 group), 2 cold plunges, a cryotherapy booth, a float tank, compression therapy, cold/heat chair and a 2 other in depth massage chairs.

The kids village area is managed well 24 hours registration is only for toddlers, I believe.

The space is larger enough that it is difficult to imagine it being crowded. It absolutely feels like a resort.

I've been going to Villa for 6 months now. I do enjoy it and it's a very nice facility and the staff is very nice.

I enjoyed my personal trainer sessions. I have chronic health issues, and my sessions weren't centered around dieting or weight. The class instructors are fun and don't feel judgemental or condescending.
The pool is my favorite. They have been doing a lot of maintenance on it lately, but I think its mostly resolved. The whirlpools could be hotter sometimes. The locker rooms for women feel secure, and the women's whirlpool lounge is nice. I just wish it was a bit bigger with more places to sit.

Cleanliness can be an issue, but sometimes it seems like they are fighting a losing battle because people act like staff are servants or they were raised in a barn. Customers frequently leave wet towels or trash everywhere. It's a bare minimum for a person to put a towel or trash in the right bin. I wish there were consequences for customers not picking up after themselves, but I know that won't happen.

We love parts of Villa. But we also don’t love certain parts. It’s teetering on being almost worth the money if you go a lot. But certain things we certainly didn’t find out till after signing up with them that’s disappointing. Seems like they are putting there money into there recovery area and less into basic maintenance of the recreational pool parts. Id say it’s definitely got the same idea as LT in Roseville but definitely a step down and it’s quality matches its price in some ways.

One of the worst gyms I had the displeasure of joining. At the start of the membership we had issues with cleanliness of the pools. My partner complained to staff but it never improved. I understand the pools can be dirty due to use but to not even vacuum or skim the pools daily is ridiculous for a gym that costs $100 a month. The swim wear spinner will be non operational for periods of time. Even the whirlpool and hot tubs will be out! Additionally, they advertise temperature controlled pools but they are always too cold even the inside ones! Lastly, the amenities are never stocked in the evening during the week leaving one to scramble for a towel. When we finally cancelled our membership their was no mention of a cancellation fee during the online process but they added on $85! This place is a disgusting joke for a high end gym and we are so happy to leave!
Edit: called them as they requested in their reply and got their voicemail and no call back , just another example of the lack of care and response time to problems

Not enough machines! The gym floor plan is weird with a wall separating it in two sections? Can we get another Leg Press? Maybe 2-3 extra benches to move around? A hack squat? Like the basics please? My real only complaint is the spa. We joined this gym with the intention of utilizing the spa weekly. The services were really nice at first but wayyy too difficult and stressful to book. I can’t even understand why a therapist would work here if they make it so difficult to book clients. It’s like the app/website was actively pushing away paying customers. Our whole family started doing massage therapy elsewhere a year ago and we are actively looking for a new gym.

This could’ve been a great gym, but… I’m tired of how poorly the management runs this place. There’s a constant shortage of cable machine attachments — it’s honestly torture having to walk around the gym trying to find two matching handles, wasting 15 minutes every time. I ended up just buying my own and bringing them with me.

The sauna is a never-ending problem. Either it doesn’t heat up at all, or it gets unbearably hot. Management is supposed to ensure basic standards are met, but they don’t seem to care. People go into the sauna wearing clothes and the same sneakers they wear outside.

In the showers, there are always towels left scattered on the floor. The water dispensers are constantly broken — same with the swimsuit dryers. And any repairs take months.

Many members have experienced locker theft, and management hasn’t even bothered to make an announcement about it — no warning at all. Communication is a big issue overall. Today, for example, I found out the kids’ club closes at 12:00, but there was no notice or heads-up anywhere. I had to turn around and go home with my kids, completely ruining our plans.

Bottom line: I’m done. I’m switching gyms. After nearly two years of membership, I haven’t seen a single improvement — only things getting worse. More people, worse service.

Went there to check out the place few weeks ago looks pretty nice. Little outdated machinery. Overall decent and the pool area will be nice for my kiddos. But what really bothered me, male manager (stalky, buzz cut type hair) was standing sooo close to a young lady who was working front desk. She look like she was about to cry and felt so uncomfortable and when he put his hands on her shoulders she flinched. You could tell she was terrified. You can see the otherfemale worker were disgusted. I caught his eye as I stared at him. He backed off immediatly. When he walked away I asked if she was okay. She nodded shaking. She was NOT OKAY. If that was my daughter we would have a huge issue. I decided on In-Shape just from that interaction alone, I will not let my daughters see or have that happen to them. DO BETTER VILLA. I never write reviews, My wife encouraged me to write a review to warn other parents.

I have been using the subscription for more than 3 months and I am thinking of leaving this place because I am the first reason many people always, from the outside you cannot use the large sunbeds unless you pay extra, the manager came up and asked to leave the place and had to switch to a regular sunbed. The sauna often lacks cold towels. The showers are almost always not cleaned. Half an hour before closing they do not allow you to use the jacuzzi. The employees ignored my request to bring cold towels twice. I saw large towels with a hole twice. My husband and I pay about $200 a month and for this money I am disappointed with the service. I hope the management will somehow respond to these shortcomings, I am sorry to leave this place since it is the closest to me but I will be forced to do it if nothing changes. It was very unpleasant when you were kicked out of your sunbed while relaxing, it ruined my mood.

There are no "absurdly high expectations" from clientele at this gym. All the negative reviews are spot on and factual, hence why the number of likes on negative reviews are significantly higher than likes on positive reviews.

Newcomers be warned, this place is not as great as it seems from the outside. Do your research, and be sure you want to pay a high membership fee for an oversized Anytime Fitness (no disrespect, Anytime).

You would think that the membership fees would match the facility, but they don't. Sure, the amenities they have are great, but from the sauna, to the showers, equipment, and everything in between, it's all constantly breaking and/ or dirty.

There is also lack of enforcement of rules which creates room for disrespectful clientele, and lack of gym etiquette. Elaboration on that is up to individual interpretation.

The ratio of machines to actual weightlifting equipment is absurd too, but again, that's dependent on individual preference. Me personally, I don't like how there's about 1,000 treadmills and 2 flat bench presses. That's just one example.

Again, all this to say, newcomer, do your own research, take your time, and really consider the negative reviews. If the membership fee matched the actual state of the facility, there would probably be a lot less negative reviews. And if you decide to cancel your membership like my family and I did, be warned of the $85 cancellation fee that's probably hidden in a contract they didn't really tell you about.

Do better, VillaSport. Listen to your negative reviews. Make improvements.

I have been going to this gym for over two years. I won’t describe all the changes that have happened during this time, but I will talk about what really outraged me.

On March 5th, my bank cards disappeared from my locker in the changing room, and money was withdrawn from them. After reading reviews here, I found out that I am not the only one who has fallen victim to criminals at this gym. I have also overheard conversations from other members about similar incidents.

It seems like this has been going on for quite some time—people are getting robbed in the locker room.
But has anyone received an email warning that a thief is active and that additional security measures should be taken? Has anyone seen a notice at the gym entrance about this issue?

By staying silent, the gym management is helping criminals steal from even more people.

Shame they let themselves go that bad.

I used to enjoy Villa, but then my favorite machines started to break from continuous usage. The ab press broke a few times, instead of getting another one or repairing it. I was told it’s going to be “fixed.” That went on for two months, only excuses and no repair.

After requesting to leave, and cancel my membership, they put it on a freeze without my knowledge. Fast forward a year I was being charged for the facility without even using it. Then after requesting they help me figure it out, I was told on three separate occasions that they’d call me back to do so. They never did. I was then charged for another month. After coming in, they made me sign the same paper I signed a year ago (but all of a sudden they don’t have record of it), stating they’d cancel it. But then they say I still get charged for the next month even though it was cancelled.

I have had a friends that left this place, whom I sent there. There are a lot of other places that take customer service seriously and actually value their members. Disappointing.

My dad’s entire wallet was emptied while his belongings were in a locker at the gym. He went straight from home to the gym, locked his belongings, and after his workout, returned home—only to realize that everything inside his wallet had been taken. There was no one around when he locked the locker, and when he returned, it was still locked. The only logical explanation is that a staff member with a master key accessed the locker and took the contents.

I spoke with a manager named Christian, who promised to file an investigation and get back to me within 24 hours—but never head back or got any notifications. I called again the next day and received the same empty promises, yet no follow-up. There is no corporate phone number available, making it even harder to escalate the issue.

I have been a lifetime member since 2015 and have never experienced something like this before. It’s extremely disappointing, and I am seriously considering canceling my membership because it no longer feels safe. To make matters worse, my husband recently overheard another member complaining to the staff that items went missing from his bag while it was locked in a locker!

I hope this review gets the attention of corporate because this should not be difficult to investigate—they should be able to check who had access to the master key that day. Unfortunately, it seems like they just don’t care

The cycling class is a blast and the instructors are amazing. The pools and whirlpools are delightful. Our kids love the indoor and outdoor play areas. The lap pools are great. And the 18+ age pool area is also a wonderful little escape from the chaos. The showers and locker rooms are fantastic as well. The cafe always has great food and drinks available. Gym is great. Trainers are great, all the equipment you can imagine. Nice pools!

But hardly any yoga classes so I have to have a separate yoga membership somewhere else.

The worst part is the App and the Spa (booking, not the staff). When VillaSport first opened, I was able to book spa treatments easily but now it’s a nightmare. The app always has problems trying to schedule it, and you can only call during the most inconvenient times. I now have a separate place to get my wife and me massages. You have to pick a therapist first, and then search their availability and it doesn’t say if they are male or female. Takes so long searching on a tiny calendar.

It’s pretty annoying having a gym with a yoga room and spa and I need to go elsewhere for those things.

Lastly, the childcare is amazing. They do a really good job!

Okay, so their Spa (facials and massages) is quite AMAZING! I had no idea how large and professional this area was. You do not really think to get a facial or massage at a gym. But WOW! Not kidding. You walk in and it is so peaceful and the facial/massage rooms are so beautiful. Brooke is one of the estheticians there and she is the BEST estheticians I have ever had. Seriously. I have been to a TON of places and she is hands down the best. She is so sweet and thorough. She made me feel so comfortable. Also, their products that they carry (Comfort Zone) are EXCELLENT. Don’t walk, RUN to make an appointment. You will not regret it for a second! Literally.

Membership Cancellation Process: A Frustrating Experience
The process of canceling my membership was unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming. My experience was as follows:
1. Phone Call Attempt: I initially called to cancel my membership. After a 15-minute wait, I was informed that cancellations must be processed online.
2. Online Search: I spent an additional 15 minutes searching the website for a cancellation option, which was non-existent.
3. In-Person Visit: I visited the Roseville club to cancel in person. The front desk employee, after consulting with a manager, directed me to email the concierge for cancellation.
4. Email Correspondence: I emailed the concierge explaining the situation and requesting cancellation. The concierge responded that they couldn’t process the cancellation.
5. Final Instruction: I was told to return to the club and submit a certified letter for cancellation.

This convoluted process is excessively burdensome for members wishing to terminate their membership.

Very nice, high class spot with a super nice staff. I was freaking impressed with the amenities and thought it was really amazing. Good service, clean facility, friendly staff. They have three separate locker rooms for women 13 and up, family locker and men's locker. Kids under 13 are not allowed to enter the adults lockers. However, some of the visitors ignore those rules and go with their children to the adults lockers. A couple of times I noticed a 4y.o. boy running around women's locker with his mom. When I first came to the administration and ask to do something about it, they politely smiled but did not resolve the issue at the moment. A couple weeks later the same thing happened again. I don't feel comfortable changing my clothes in front of someone's kids, especially the opposite gender. I have two kids myself and I always use a family locker with them. Rules are rules and must be applied to everyone!
If this issue continues to happen, I will quit my membership.

We have been members of this gym for a little over two months, and during that time, both of my children have contracted norovirus. As a stay-at-home parent, our only regular exposure to public settings is at the gym. In addition, My 2-year-old recently consumed yogurt and chips from the Café and subsequently experienced food poisoning, which developed into norovirus, confirmed by her pediatrician. I’ve reached out via email and phone calls twice, but have received no response, so I am sharing this to inform other members.

Additionally, two days ago, my infant was crawling in the daycare when a 2-3-year-old child stomped on her hand, then proceeded to snatch a toy from her. I observed this incident on the upstairs cameras. I am concerned as to why a crawling infant is in the same area as older, more active children. When I raised this issue, the response was dismissive. Furthermore, my toddler was hit on the head with a door, and the only reason I became aware was because I noticed a red mark and bruise on her forehead and had to ask staff for an explanation.

I have 5 complaints for Villa Sport Roseville. 1. It appears that if you want to cancel your membership for winter months there is $80 cancellation fee. This by itself will stop me from renewing it next summer. And it's not strictly a money issue. Doing it is disrespectful to your customers. Must have been mentioned in small script when I had signed up. 2. The inside jacuzzi has often men in it looking at one another with heavy breathing. 3. The outside coffee shop closes very early at 6 pm. And if you order, let's say... pizza, they will leave it in the ordering window where everyone will leave their saliva on top of it ordering their own food, before you have a chance to pick it up. 4. The kids pool, which takes most of the outside space in the club, smells of urine. I wouldn't go in it on my free will. The inside pool is not for recreation. You have to swim laps if you want to use it. The floors near the bathroom stalls are disgusting. Towels on the floor all over the place. 5. Whereas the family dressing area includes change rooms which I use when I go with my grandkids, the men's dressing rooms, when I go alone, offer no privacy at all. You can either change in front of your locker with other naked men around (not a pretty sight), or in the shower stalls which were not designed for it.

I had high hopes when I joined Villa Sport, but my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. Here's why:

**1. Overcrowded and Poorly Maintained Facilities:**
The gym is constantly overcrowded, especially during peak hours. It's nearly impossible to get a turn on the equipment without waiting for ages. The machines are outdated, and many of them are broken or in desperate need of maintenance. The cleanliness is another major issue—I've noticed dirty floors, unclean bathrooms, and a general lack of attention to hygiene.

**2. Unhelpful and Rude Staff:**
The staff at Villa Sport is far from professional. On multiple occasions, I’ve encountered rude and dismissive employees. They seem more interested in chatting with each other than assisting members. I’ve also had trouble finding anyone knowledgeable enough to answer basic questions about the equipment or classes.

**3. Hidden Fees and Poor Management:**
Villa Sport has a habit of sneaking in hidden fees that aren’t mentioned when you sign up. I’ve been charged for services I never used, and getting these charges reversed has been a nightmare. The management is unresponsive and unwilling to address member concerns. It's clear they care more about their bottom line than their customers.

**4. Poorly Scheduled Classes:**
The class schedule is a mess, with very few options during convenient times. The instructors are hit or miss—some are great, but others seem completely uninterested in leading a class. There’s also a lack of variety, with the same limited selection of classes every week.

**5. Inadequate Parking:**
The parking situation is horrendous. It’s almost impossible to find a spot during busy times, and the parking lot is poorly lit and maintained. I've even had my car scratched while parked there, and, of course, no one at the gym took responsibility.

Overall, my experience at Villa Sport has been extremely disappointing. I expected much more from a gym that markets itself as a premium facility. Sadly, it’s been a waste of time and money. I strongly advise looking elsewhere if you’re considering joining.

Anyone who rates this place more than 1 star must be apart of the ownership group or management trying to save the brand. This place is beyond terrible. We have been members for 2 years. We live very close to Villa Sport or we would have joined Lifetime. So we joined out of convenience, then just tolerated this place. Private lockers get left unlocked when they put your laundry away in your locker. Took 3 months for them to get us a private locker they advertise. The whirlpools out side are constantly broke or cold. The de-humidifier in the indoor pool area sat broken for over a year, looked like it had black mold on it. Locker rooms never have the toiletries refilled, or towels. Showers, steam room rarely clean and fresh. The food place has been out of coffee for 2 weeks, doesn’t even open until 8:30am. The service is terrible as well. The gal at the front desk told me yesterday everyone constantly complains and management doesn’t care! My opinion is whoever owns Villa Sport doesn’t care much about the customer experience. Do not join this place!

I have been a member since it opened it's doors and sadly it's been going downhill since then. It started as a high-end place and it seems that's no longer the case (except for the prices of membership). No cushions on the lounge area, steam room randomly works, drinking water filter problems, and absolutely no attention to detail anymore. Today none of the 4 stalls had toilet paper! Really??? I would think twice before becoming a memeber here unless all you want to do is exercise then go ahead, but the relaxation area has been neglected for a long time.

Great gym but the only hit tub I can use as a single mom with a kid was broken for a long time. While it wasn't working, they kicked me and another mom out of the other outdoor hot tub even though others invited us over as the one kids can use wouldn't get hot. Super bummer. The staff had no idea when it might be fixed and it took many weeks. That was sad. Otherwise not a bad gym/pool. The hot tub really bugged me as I love to soak after a long day. They didn't offer credit to my membership or anything despite it being down for so long and not showing alternatives.

First of all, don't make the mistake of entering your primary credit card when you sign up at the very beginning. You will be charged ongoing, unclear fees that you cannot refuse. secondly, in order to cancel your membership, you need to pay for it! this is absurd! and give 1 month notice of cancellation! for which you also need to pay. thirdly, this place is absolutely not worth the money because there are constantly not enough towels, dirty and wet floors, adhesive plasters and hair lying around. and most importantly, it is not clear what is happening to the quality of the water in the family pool outside. my child develops a skin rash after each visit, although this does not happen in other pools. We definitely won’t go here again and won’t recommend it to anyone. For this price you can choose the most profitable alternative.

Good facility, have been member here with whole family of 4 for almost 3 years on and off ( was freezing membership because wasn’t able to go) but if you have a newborn you have to pay full price as for other kids, and the way we were told that was not very nice. And even if that child won’t use anything in that facility.
I think it comes down to bad management. If you have questions don’t even bother… no one knows anything. 🤷🏻‍♀️and try calling if you have questions, goes straight to voicemail ( no matter time of the day) give it at least a week for someone to get back to you if they do at all.
Also outside pool has little slide for kids and it has been broken for over a year now and can cause scratches on babies that desire to climb on to slide down. Didn’t let my kids to use it.
I was hoping it will be fixed during winter but nothing changed…. it just got worse… cancelling my whole family’s membership because anything you ask or need help with goes ignored and all this facility cares about is how to get new members not existing ones. :(
Last year had promotions that supposed to get me a prepaid card of $75 that you can use inside the facility for food or massage. Asked so many times and gave up…. And never got it.
If you want to pay good amount of money and be treated whatever - your choice. :)

Been a member at Villa Sport for a few years now and I must say that the management doesn’t care about the members as they did at the beginning. I had the same experience mentioned earlier about guest pass - I registered a family friend online, but when I was physically at the club I was told that the promotion expired two weeks ago (that means that either the website is outdated or the staff is poorly informed).
The safety guards are some mean kids. I witnessed rude conversations and attitude right before safety break. They’ve been yelling at little kids to get out of the water like someone was dying. Very disrespectful. And omg , yes, the bathroom is filthy indeed. There’s toilet papers hanging on the bathroom door and even poop in the floor. I didn’t want to take any disguising pictures. Many reviews commented on the cleanliness of the gym, I truly think the staff are doing their best. It’s the people who are coming here I have a problem with, unfortunately many are lacking the basic etiquette. Please clean after yourselves and parents please clean after your kids. Don’t pile up the dirty towels on the floor, walk a few steps to drop them in the bin. Ladies, rules are clearly indicated on the sign outside of the Spa room. Please don’t wear your dirty gym shoes inside of a clean and wet area. Some are leaving dirty foot prints behind and this is truly disgusting. This place is not somewhere worth paying the monthly membership for. The bathrooms, locker rooms, and gym are filthy. If you look at the machines in the fitness area, clumps of hair are nestled between the machines with dust bunnies and god knows what else. Bathrooms upstairs are never kept clean. Disinfectant wipes are constantly out with no one paying attention to restock. I can speak on the male and family locker rooms. The changing rooms in the family locker rooms are filthy, diaper genies look like they haven’t been disinfected in years. Nowhere to sit down and hooks are broken to hang your stuff up. Lounge chairs are broken by the pools and children’s pool play area need significant repairs or replaced completely. This place is large enough that upgrades/ upkeep should be more than doable. CONSISTENT/ CONSTANT upkeep needs to be occurring daily. In my opinion, the club is not worth the money. Several other gyms are cheaper and seem to offer more.

For a few months I noticed that every time I’d swim there, I’d come down with a severe sinus infection. I called the health dept who followed up and confirmed that the pool chemicals had been incorrect for months (they checked the chemical logs and there was not nearly enough chlorine. Pros: The equipment is pretty durable. I've only seen one weightlifting machine that was down for 2 months before being repaired. I have no complaints about the cardio or weightlifting equipment overall. They have specific equipment that I love to utilize so I can't speak for every piece of equipment.

Cons: Laziness. They have some staff members who walk around, stop to chit chat, and have water cooler discussions with each other. All while the sanitizer wipe bins are EMPTY. I've seen staff just chopping it up next to the empty bins. Or staff will walk right by empty bins of wipes and not refill them. I am at this gym 3 hrs a day, 5 days a week. I see it all the time and it's pathetic. How do these bins remain empty with staff walking around every couple of hours? What's the point of them walking around if they aren't doing anything?

You know who WILL refill the sanitizer wipe bins? The Assistant General Manager, Matthew Cooper. He seems like he loves his job and knows how to set the example for others to follow. Granted, I don't think it's his place to refill the bins. It's the staff that should be doing it. At least he LEADS by example.

Instead of being focused on cleaning the equipment a lot. Use some of that time to refill the empty sanitizer wipe bins. The GM has the staff cleaning equipment, but they'll ALL walk by empty wipe bins in the process. Make that make sense.

You know who else does a great job? Alex! He greets everyone with a smile and always says have a great day. What a professional. This facility needs more workers like Matthew and Alex period.

Please start enforcing your own rules. A person walked in and began filming with a cell phone on a tripod. The absolute worst are the people who work out with their cell phones glued to their faces. If you can't go to the gym for an hour without IG, FB, Tik Tok, or texting. You have some personal issues.

Generally speaking, any retail service that requires a contract isn’t in your best interest.

The amenities are great. The price is a little high but you can’t fault them for that because it’s your decision whether you want to pay it. There is usually something broken though; ie: steam room, water fountain, hot tub, etc.

The primary issue with this gym is that the customer service is severely lacking. There is clearly zero culture of customer care and compassion. If you are lucky enough to get a decision-maker on the phone or in your presence, they are decent. However, 95% of their energy is dedicated to bringing a new memberships and the other 5% is about keeping them through contracts.

When I joined, to no fault of my own, I was charged too much money. Not a big deal, but getting the refund felt like I needed to contact NASA; very difficult.

You might get what you pay for regarding equipment, pools, basketball court, etc. but I’m not sure that this place actually deserves your money.

Lastly, I paid $85 to terminate and there is a 30-day notice MINIMUM.

We have been having problems for about 6 months now. We have been complaining to management and they keep saying they are trying to fix things but we have not seen any changes. Unfortunately, today’s visit pushed us to cancel our membership.

The Bathrooms are constantly filthy and covered in dirty toilet paper and towels. Toiletries are always empty / out. Towels are never stocked. We have been unable to use the Les mills trip Bikes in the fitness room for over a month as they let the subscription expire and do not know how to renew it. The machines are dirty and trash remains in the cupholders for weeks at a time. The bikes in the trip room are always broken and pieces need replacing. Instructors have to sneak in during their off time to replace the broken pieces USING THEIR OWN MONEY as VillaSport is unwilling to fix them. I have talked with multiple instructors and they say that dirty machines and towels being out are normal daily occurrences.
These are just a few of the issues we have had while our monthly membership fee has increased.

Today I attempted to bring in my mother in law as a guest. She made a guest account and we called last night to sign her up for a team class so she could work out with us. We were told she was good to go. When we came in, we were told she could not participate in the class because she did not live within 25 miles of the club. The class was empty, so her being in there would not have affected any active member from participating. The membership experience director, John, refused to let her do the class with us unless she paid $30 for the 1 day fee. While we were discussing it, he would not even let her sit on the couch to wait for us. Last Friday, they allowed our friend to use the one day free guest pass even though she lives in LA. We asked what the change was from last week and John did not have answer for that, just said he wanted to follow the policy, and continued to be very rude. He said he was the only manager we could talk to when in fact he is the membership experience director, not a manager.

We are tired of the many issues we have been having and today’s encounter pushed us to be done. We will be cancelling our membership today and will be going to 24 hour fitness as it is much cheaper, cleaner, and is managed much better. It is sad as villasport has a lot of potential but the poor management is its major downfall.

This is a really nice facility. We were members for several months and I really enjoyed the pool and exercise classes. I also used child care. Unfortunately the billing and customer service were terrible. We were charged incorrectly several times and it was difficult to cancel our membership. After a huge headache we eventually had to pay our credit card to stop accepting charges from Villa Sport. It's unfortunate because I would really like to go back but I've become very cautious of joining gyms with unexpected/unexplained fees and continued charges after cancelling a membership. To add to this many of the staff and lifeguards ranged from unhelpful to overtly rude.

In addition to the spa and pool facilities, VillaSport Athletic Club and Spa also offered a range of wellness activities and experiences to nourish the body and mind. VillaSport is all nice inside and out but if you start seeing extra charges be prepared for them not to give you that money back. They make up excuses to the charges and say that they will get back to you but they don’t.

Their facilities and services has significantly gone down, rude staff in general especially at the Villa Kids, their swim extractor never works and they have now diluted their shampoos and body washes with water. Used to be one of the best but sadly its gone down way too quickly.

We have been a member since the beginning and it has for sure gone down hill with service and cleanliness. Also we used to go consistently but I can’t go because my child likes to use the basketball court but it has been taken over by pickle ball and adult leagues, pick up and events I’m all for sharing but when the only time to take your kid is between 3-5 because The only time the courts are not being utilized unless there is a event and not to mention the workers set pickle up at 4:30 so it’s earlier then 5 and you can’t use the hoops even before 5 if by chance I can get out of work to bring my kid. I don’t understand the schedule it seems lazy they can break up the schedule pickle ball doesn’t need to be all day I
It’s because the workers don’t want to set up and take it down.
My 12 year old loves to play basketball but can never use the court and if I put him in childcare that’s a whole other story with how it’s ran. So basically I can never work out since we both can’t be there at once unless I don’t work till 5pm or I workout at 9pm and that won’t work he needs to be asleep and even then pickle has still been set up past 9 pm 🙄 .

Over $9,000 towards this gym
And over it!

I'm sure everyone is reading through reviews for new years resolutions, so here's my honest review after a couple of trips using a guest pass with my friend who is a member.

This is NOT a "gym", it's an entire health and fitness club, so if you just want weights and cardio you're better off going somewhere else. The facility is very nice over all, I've only been in the early morning so I can't speak to general upkeep and cleanliness throughout the day, but it was clean while I was there. My friend uses the childcare and says it's one of the best parts of being a member. The smoothie bar was closed the day we planned to get smoothies, but he assures me they're tasty, I believe they have plenty of other food offerings too(bagels, etc).
The water facilities are super nice, I haven't had the chance to use them, but by looks and size alone, very nice. The few Staff i interacted with were very friendly, even though I was just there as a guest(I read a couple reviews that said front desk was rude to them because they were a guest, not my experience at all). The locker room and spa suite area with sauna, steam room, whirlpool, loungers, etc. Is so nice, I was tempted to switch gyms based largely on that.

My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I found the free weights area to be very small and lacking, that's my main use at my current gym, that also has quite a few amenities(childcare, pool, basketball courts, classes, etc.) And its half the cost.

If you want to pay more for a full club experience, villasport is fantastic, it has well rounded amenities. If you want less of the extras at a cheaper price, I'd look elsewhere.

It's really uncalled for - and quite frankly unlawful - to tell someone they can't bring their disabled child to your gym because it's suddenly "against your policy". If the kid isn't hurting anyone or doing anything wrong, you are just plain discriminating. I hope Elena Myers Taylor finds a much better place train and I seriously hope that management takes some training on ADA. Not cool.

I received an email offering a free day pass for two adults, valid for 7 days. I wanted to take this opportunity to revisit the gym because my family had a membership over the summer, and I enjoyed it. However, the sales guy, especially the management, were incredibly rude and disrespectful towards me. I showed them the promotional offer and the email stating that I could enjoy a free day pass, but they insisted I pay or leave the facility with such rudeness and disrespect. The manager, in particular, was so rude to me in front of my dad that I was shocked by her behavior. They’re rude and lairs. They also charged my dad extra and I’ve seen so many other people are complaining about the same issue.

I had an incredibly unpleasant experience at VillaSport in Roseville due to their extremely rude staff and management. I had received an email from the company offering a complimentary day pass, which was stated to be valid for seven days. Excited to take advantage of this offer, I went to the gym with my family, only to be met with a shocking display of disrespect and unprofessionalism.

Upon arriving at the gym and presenting the email with the offer, I was turned away with utter rudeness. The manager and their sales representative were not only unhelpful but also treated me with complete disregard for my rights as a customer. I found their behavior to be astonishingly disrespectful and unbecoming of a reputable establishment.

While money was not a concern for me, as I was more than willing to pay for a day pass, the issue arose from the fact that VillaSport had offered a free day pass as part of their promotional email. The manager, however, flatly refused to honor this offer, leaving me deeply disappointed and disheartened by the overall experience.

In light of this encounter, it is evident that VillaSport in Roseville may have an attractive facility, but the staff's demeanor and their treatment of customers leave much to be desired. This negative experience has led me to reconsider my choice of gym, and I am now inclined to explore alternatives, even if it means paying a higher fee at a different establishment like Lifetime Fitness, where I hope for a more respectful and customer-oriented experience. It is my belief that a gym's quality should not only be measured by its equipment and facilities but also by the courtesy, professionalism, and respect extended to its members and guests. VillaSport in Roseville fell short in this regard.

Two thumbs down. Place is top dollar for dirty equipment and facilities. Toilets are always dirty, clogged, or out of service. Equipment is always out of service. Pool is gross. Wipes are always empty. Could be an awesome place if someone actually cared about it. Steam room has been out of service for over a month. Back to calfit for my family!

Updating my review, I still think there’s so much this team needs to improve on to compete with Lifetime. However I’m updating from a 1 star to 4 because of the kids care team. What an amazing Team. We love the quality of care and have observed them addressing parents when kids get out of line in a respectful manner. Kids care leaders should probably lead the whole gym.

Member for about 2 years. Can't say enough good things about this gym. Overall, for the 120 dollar/month membership I've been very satisfied with the facility and the welcoming staff. I used a guest pass at lifetime fitness and I have to say I believe villasport offers the same level of upscale quality and array of amenities at a more affordable price. Very happy with my experience and membership at this gym.

Canceled my membership due to ongoing unauthorized charges on my credit card. This has been a persistent complaint among many members and yet the problem still hasn't been resolved and never a valid explanation given. Not sure what kind of scam Villa Sport is trying to pull, but after multiple calls to the gym and in-person visits to talk to diffetent "managers", they are still trying to charge my card, and I am no longer a member. Took another trip up there in person today and once again had an account manager tell me my contract is terminated and there are no past dues on my account, and yet these greedy snakes are still trying to charge my card! Always some excuse about a system error. No, more like some is stealing money from members. The fact that there was another member there at the same time as me to cancel her membership due to all the unauthorized charges she received on her card really speaks volumes about this place. Avoid this gym at all costs, unless you are ok with random charges on your credit card 🤷🏻‍♀️

What a horrible experience we had as members of this club. We remained members for over 1 year, and as a family of 5 it was extremely costly. How I wish we would have simply joined California Family Fitness instead! The customer service at villasport is absolutely terrible. They are incompetent with billing, and their website is so slow it barely works. Most times when we visited the pool, it would get closed down because there would be a toddler or child that would poop in the pool. The lifeguards and staff who work at villasport do not enforce the swim diaper policy, so there were so many times that the pool was shut down during the summer. This happened so many times I cannot even count. Their corporate customer service is even worse, you will never get through to a live person, you will get disconnected, you will get voicemail but they will never call you back. Do yourself a favor and just don't join this club. Yes, the water slides and the pool look inviting, and the gym equipment is nice, but there are many other gyms locally that will treat you with much better customer service and who will not screw you over like this place does.

I loved this gym and the facilities were very nice and well taken care of. Unfortunately their management and billing are horrible! Our card was charged over $100 for something non existent. I had called the club about the issue and Chad was very quick to call back but could not provide any answers at that time. I didn't hear back for 2 weeks after multiple emails and phone calls to Chad to try and get some answers. No one responded and since we moved, we had to send a friend into the club just to talk to Chad. Our friend explained the situation and asked Chad to give us a call to explain what happened. We never received any communication from that point on and for the past month. Overall, the front desk people are always so nice and the facility itself is nice but management seems to need extreme help. Avoid the club if you don't want your card to be randomly charged.
