Pros: Good looking gym, has both dry and vet sauna.

Cons: overpriced, ride personnel, bunch of broken lockers, and they try their best to overcharge you on anything they can. Terrible cancellation policy. They will also lie to you about "the intro price is only available today" and some other stuff, guest passes in out case.

UPDATED October 2025:
Once a 5-star gym, now a 2. I thought this gym was great at first, but it’s gone downhill. The showers, steam room, and pool are constantly out of order, machines often broken, and clean towels frequently unavailable. They’ve even had to close several times due to electrical or facility issues.

Previous Review: Amazing new gym!!! I am not one to write reviews, but this place deserves one. It is small yes, not as big as other gyms, but for the price and amenities you get, it is great. The steam room and sauna are great to relax in after a workout, its clean and organized, which is refreshing.

I know this ain’t closed it’s just he on his phone scrolling and don’t care about working. I was so close to going behind the counter and making it myself. Usually it’s open till 9:59pm
And today all of the sudden it’s closed.😂😂

I want to start this review by saying that from the start, Alyssa, who had signed me up, had an unpleasant and unprofessional attitude. Our entire conversation felt as if it was “I don’t need you to sign up, you can leave if you want”. This created an environment where I already didn’t trust her or Villa Sport. I was originally working with Harrison. Harrison was great, and had an amazing attitude which was a major contributor for me joining.

The day I signed up with Alyssa, I was hesitant and didn’t want to commit to the club. I wasn’t happy with the size of the weight room, which is smaller than average. I was also worried about how busy it would get, since the gym upstairs is small. What ultimately made me decide to join was that Alyssa had told me that it was a month to month, and that I was able to cancel my membership with no fees or charges at any point. I just needed to give 30 days notice. This ended up being a lie.

Another lie that she told me while I was considering signing up for the VIP membership was that in the future, if I wanted to downgrade to the standard membership, that wouldn’t be a problem. I wouldn’t have to pay the standard enrollment fee, as long as I kept the VIP for at least 3 months. Now, when I decided to downgrade, she told me that I would have to pay the $149 enrollment fee. When I brought up what she had said before, she told me that she could not recall exactly what she said, but that they’re pretty strict about that so she wouldn’t have told me that. Convenient, like the cancellation fee she failed to mention.

Not to mention, the gym does not enforce membership tiers. Towels are supposed to be offered to Premier and VIP members only, but are given to everyone. What’s the point of paying $100 a month for a premier membership, if the only difference is given away to everyone? That’s theft.

Other unacceptable things about the gym include the locker rooms are not cleaned regularly (or at least they don’t appear to be). The showers are bad, like really bad. Half of them don’t drain and start to puddle when you turn them on, and the other half are very filthy from use.

I will conclude this by saying that aside from Alyssa, all of the staff and employees who work at Villa have been awesome. Everyone is very friendly and professional, and I never felt like I couldn’t approach anyone for something. It’s a shame that someone like Alyssa is one of the employees representing Villa as the face of their team. Especially, with the new sign-ups.

TLDR: Alyssa is a liar and you should not believe anything she says during signup. Watch out for hidden fees and horrible customer service.

So I go to Equinox, and my best friend invited me to check out this gym he’s been insisting I try. Overall, the gym was okay—nothing out of the ordinary—but what really shocked me was how they handled the sauna. We were literally just there to try it out, and they told us it’s only for members.

Then what’s the point of offering a guest pass if you can’t actually experience the facilities? I can lift weights anywhere, it’s the amenities that make a gym stand out. I’ve brought friends to Equinox before, and they’ve always been allowed to take classes, use the sauna, etc. That’s just common sense if you ask me.

Totally ridiculous policy and it honestly spoiled our morning. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Too many TVs, no mirrors on the squat rack area. No mirrors in the studio upstairs. Machines always break. Recovery services are not 24/7. Recovery services should be open from 5:00am until closing hours. Sauna never works, why pay a lot on a membership when the sauna and steam room don’t work. Avoid this gym…

I regret to say that my experience at this gym was one of the most disappointing in my life. The facilities were poorly maintained, with dirty showers and changing rooms that made the entire experience unpleasant. The swimming pool was also in a terrible state—dirty and uninviting.

The trainers and instructors were not knowledgeable at all. There was a complete lack of professionalism, and the same water aerobic exercises were repeated for two months straight, showing a lack of variety and innovation. Sadly, there were no qualified or helpful instructors to guide or motivate members properly.

The management was equally disappointing. The manager was rude and unprofessional, and when I tried to inquire about additional charges—such as facility fees that were not disclosed during sign-up—they simply dropped the call. When I wanted to cancel my membership a month in advance, I received no clear explanation and felt ignored.

Overall, this gym did not meet basic standards of cleanliness, professionalism, or customer service. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for a quality fitness experience.

I have been a member of this gym since Feb 2025. I really love the gym in all aspects. The top 3 reasons are:

1. Clean and neat - They mop the gym at least 2/3 times a day and make sure it does not get dirty
2. Equipment are top notch
3. Clean Sauna, Steam, and Spa.

The staff are nice and cordial always. I should mention particularly 3 people for their incredible customer service.

Jenny, Emily, and Harrison - They are super nice and always smiling and greeting people. They care for any grievances immediately and make sure they are taken care of. My 5 *s to these people for for their professional attitude.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at this gym! From day one, McKayla was incredibly helpful — she gave us a great tour, got us signed up with ease, and continues to check in with us to make sure we’re doing well. Her warm and professional approach really made a lasting impression.

One of the biggest reasons we love this gym is the outstanding child care. The staff are kind, welcoming, and so patient with our two toddlers. Even when our little ones cry at drop-off, the child care team never gives up — they go above and beyond to comfort them and help them adjust. They pay attention to the smallest details (like remembering the name of our daughter’s stuffed animal!) which shows how much they truly care.

The gym itself is always spotless, the equipment is up to date and well-maintained, and every employee we’ve encountered has been friendly and attentive. It’s clear that customer service and a family-friendly atmosphere are top priorities here.

Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a clean, well-run facility with amazing staff and top-tier child care!

Attached is the text I got from Villa Sport Fitness Pleasanton and upon calling them they said its $159 for enrollment for Standard membership, after trying to correct them they didn’t apologize - crazy attitude - not accounting for their mistakes and holding onto their word!

And they are rude too, I was shown the door upon asking to waive off the enrollment fees when I visited their center!

Terrible experience with them. I felt deceived with their charges. They told me about first 7-day money back guarantee during my initial tour, I signed up and within 3 days got charged for nearly $300 in 4 separate charges. After spending hours with them on the phone and texts, I got two of those charges reverted, but they refused to refund me the $79 first month charge with the lame excuse of me being a prior member at their San Jose club. Folks, these guys are thugs. They say the membership fee is month-to-month, take your card details and then keep charging you every month. Watch-out and I suggest not to engage with these folks. They talk sweet until they get your card details and keep charging you for nothing. Good luck.

I just joined this gym. I love the variety of classes, the teachers are very nice.
Lots of positive people attending the classes.
The place is very clean, well maintained.
Equipment is new and plenty of it.
I’m changing the previously posted rating because the classes are changing quite often and/or classes are taken away. I like to see more consistency on that issue.

Upon my arrival, I was warmly greeted by the staff. I requested a towel from a tall brown employee, who kindly handed me one. However, a moment later, as I was walking away, he stopped me and asked about my membership status. When I told him I was a standard member, he asked me to return the towel, saying that it was only available for premier members. I felt confused and somewhat uncomfortable, as I felt like he was taking back something he had already given me. It would have been more professional if he had informed me instead of taking back a towel that I’ve already touched. As I walked away, I noticed more inappropriate gestures from the staff members at the front desk. The professionalism and cleanliness needs further evaluation at this location.

I can't say enough good things about Jenny at Villa Fitness! She truly goes above and beyond to make every visit enjoyable and welcoming. Every time I walk through the door, she's there with a warm greeting, making each member feel valued and part of the Villa Fitness community. She hands out delicious smoothie samples, and genuinely looks out for each person's needs. Her dedication and attention to detail make a huge difference.

What really sets Villa Fitness apart, thanks to Jenny's efforts, is the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Unlike other gyms I've been to, like Fitness 19 or 24-Hour Fitness, where it's always overcrowded and hard to find space or equipment, Villa Fitness feels spacious and accessible. With Jenny managing the check-ins so smoothly and always available to help, I never feel rushed or crowded. She's a big reason why Villa Fitness has become my favorite place to work out. Jenny, thank you for all you do--you make a huge impact on every member's fitness journey!

One last thing to point out that I love is that this gym. This gym does not blast music over the intercom like Fitness 19 and 24-Hour Fitness. There's been multiple times at those gyms when I work out, the front desk workers to blast their awful music over my noise canceling headphones and i cant stand that, thank goodness this gym has no music blasting or tvs blasting.

We have been with this gym for several months and are really enjoying it. Monday after work can be crowded, but the people are nice. The entire facility is very clean, and the manager is a wonderful woman who has always been responsive to concerns that pop up. A volleyball net is up twice a week, and our family loves to play! The spin class is wonderful, and we regularly take Derek and Anastasia's classes. I also do the body pump class a few times a month. If you're looking for a clean gym and fun classes, I recommend this one!

I do enjoy this gym but with that being said it falls short on a some annoying nuances. The main cardio section upstairs makes no sense. The machines are facing each other! Who wants to be facing someone when you’re trying to do cardio? Definitely not me! And you can’t even look at the tv screens due to the bad positioning of the cardio equipment. There is no calf machine for a complete leg set up. There are no EZ curl bar attachments for the pulley machines. There is only one smith machine which is always being used…and then there are the hours which aren’t ideal IMO. Other than that it’s ok and has the bare necessities but it needs improvement for what you’re paying.

Update September 2024:
It's been a few months now and I'm not as excited about this place. The equipments are very close together and I didn't really pay attention before. The shower room doesn't get cleaned or maintained often. The shower stalls have hair all over and people leaving towers everywhere and not put in the dirty bucket. The steam room seems to be out of service often. One thing I really don't like is their hours. I like late workouts and they close at 10pm M-Thur and 8 pm on Fri and Weekends. Also way too many thread mills and should have more weights. If you are used to Bay Club, this is not the place for you. Maybe a quick workout and shower at home.
-----------------
New fitness club that is much needed to compete with Bay Club. This used to be the Super Franks near the 580. The space is smaller than Bay Club but it has all that you need for a good workout. The place is new so it's still clean and not too crowded.
The premiere membership gives you towers but it's weird that you have to get it from the front desk. The swimming pool is an indoor lap pool so it's not as fancy as the Bay Club where there are many options. For just working out focus with a clean locker, this is the place. I hope they maintain the cleanliness because I care more about that.

Nice newly refreshed gym from what it used to be, Hub925. If you enjoy cardio, there are dozens of machines, not sure why so many, but there they are.

I mainly do compound lifts with a rack— they only have 2 and they’re super close together. So close that you’re basically avoiding getting stabbed in the head by something whenever you’re racking the weights. There’s also no mirrors and it really throws me off trying to stay positioned.

Anyway, cool for cardio and all the other extra stuff they offer but not so hot if you like compound or Olympic lifting.

I recently went to VillaSport Pleasanton location, and I have to say, it left a lasting impression on me. The facility itself is fantastic—clean, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities one would need for a great workout. They have Barre classes, amazing studio rooms for group exercises. The facility is new and super super clean. Do checkout their recovery options, they have cryotherapy. I mean just wow.
In my visit, I had to talk to staff about my membership and check in. From reception to until the tour of the facility, the staff was so friendly and nice particularly Allyssa.
She went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and comfortable. It's rare to find such personalized attention these days, and I'm truly grateful for the positive experience.

If you're looking for a gym where you're treated like a valued member of a community, I highly recommend checking out this location.

If you don’t believe me, schedule a tour to check it out and you won’t be disappointed.

NOT kid friendly! Will charge you extra fees. Membership joining fee, extra facilities fee $49 within 2 months? Just join BAY CLUB.
We joined a couple months ago, we were sold on the bay club like vibe but smaller/newer by our sales person. We were bay club members in the past and enjoy outdoor swimming as an alternative to running and villa sport had enough strength equipment. Also, their pool is not lap swim friendly and 16yd.

Overall nice small gym. Our gripe is that we were told this was family friendly but every time I brought my teen with me it felt otherwise. A female staff member followed us around and confronted us multiple times about made up policies targeting my kid which I never found in their T&C’s/contract. So, after this incident I stopped coming altogether.

So now let’s talk about their no fuss “easy to cancel” cancellation policy they have in place. It was easy enough to cancel through their website but of course they have to get their extra fees. I paid another month and now I get an “annual facility fee” of $49. What was the membership fee I paid for literally 2 months ago? Feels like they knew they could try to squeeze more juice out of us since we canceled our membership. 2 months of membership and they felt the need to charge a facility fee.

So far we are loving this place. It's nice that it's brand new so everything is clean and well maintained but the real reason to come here is for the recovery room offerings. Being able to do a cold plunge once a week to gain the benefits of cold exposure and start my week strong is huge.
So far all the staff have been very pleasant as well.
It's not a huge gym but it's also not really crowded either. At least not at the moment.
It's sort of expensive for the lower tier memberships considering what is being offered and at those levels you don't get access to the recovery room so really in my opinion the only reason to get a membership here is if you plan to get the full vip membership which gives you 6 recovery room visits per month.
I do wish the recovery room was open more and earlier though. Would be nice to do a cold plunge super early before a morning workout.

I have been coming to this gym since it opened (used to be a member at Hub925 before they closed). Many things about this gym does not make sense. Scheduling your InBody scan was a headache. No one picks up the phone so you have to scheudle in person. The employee/manager (Chris) who was scheduling it for us was incompetent. He tried to schedule us for 6am on a Sunday and when I asked for a later time, he refused saying that they were no later times available. We immediately thought that was a lie because we’ve never see anyone doing their InBody scans but we didnt feel like arguing. Then he realized that the gym doesn’t open that early and kept pushing it back an hour until he settled on 8am (which is the time we originally wanted). The gym does not provide many cleaning products to keep machines and equipment clean (only wipes with little cleaner product on them) and they don’t seem to enforce cleanliness as machines and equipment are already getting worn and gross. You can tell that no one cleans the group exercise equipment either. Water stations are sparse, machines are crowded close together. The staff seems young, inexperienced, and ill trained (I do not fault them because I don’t think management has trained them). In the large excercise room, only half of the screen works most of the time. When we asked the staff if they can help fix it, they said that they have been instructed to not touch anything in that room. If it’s not working and that’s main reason why I have a membership and how I work out, who can help if the staff aren’t allowed to fix it? It is really frustrating to come for a workout just to have your exercise program not work. They kept much equipment from Hub925 and it seems to be outdated. There has been a time where a ceiling pipe was leaking in the large exercise room when it was raining very lightly outside so I anticipate seeing more leaks during the rainy season. I don’t use the towel service but i think it’s odd that towels aren’t able to be freely grabbed for all members. I don’t use the locker rooms/restrooms at the gym much so I can’t say much about that. The gym hours are inconvenient. If the gym closed at 11pm, I can see that being more flexible for people. The Friday hours are horrible, I don’t know why they think closing at 8pm on a Friday is good (seems like everyone is rushing to get their workout in on a Friday). I think if the hours were Monday - Friday 5am - 11pm (at least make it 10pm for Friday) and Saturday-Sunday 6am-8pm; it would be more beneficial for members. I haven’t used any of the recovery services so I can not speak on that but I am apprehensive because if the cleanliness of the recovery services area is anything like the rest of the gym, I doubt it’s being maintained. If you can afford Bay Club, I would recommend that before this gym.

Far too much cardio equipment for the space and not enough free weights. The club just opened, but there are also not enough group fitness options.

I joined the club before it opened and it wasn't the right fit for me. Trying to cancel has been a fiasco, taking well over 3 weeks and an in-person visit plus an escalation to a manager before it was ever even processed.

Make sure you're certain it's right for you before signing up.

NOT A FAMILY FOCUSED gym. Do not recommend for families with small children. I canceled my membership with the Bay club, thinking this gym would be a great fit because of pricing and cleanliness. Since that was one of my concerns at the Bay club. Although those are factors that are met here. The more important factor is the lack of inclusion of my young child. This club does not have that at all! I brought my son 5 years old to check out the kids club before they opened since he will have to spend some time in the kids club, I know it would be a smoother transition for him if he saw the kids club a head of time and approved a head of time before i just dropped him off for child care during my workout. When we arrived we received a rude welcoming when we walked in the "manager" without even saying hello said "he can't be here" kicked my son out because of "insurance" not allowing children in the building but there were NO signs anywhere stating this rule. I left disgusted with the way we were treated but decided to give them another chance. I came back with my son during spring break to enjoy the indoor pool together but was told that he can not swim because he isn't over the age of 12 and there "insurance " doesnt allow for him to swim in the pool with me. . This was disappointing to my 5 year old that was looking forward to trying out the new pool. Being that we were used to freely going to the Bay Club to swim, he was very confused at why he couldn't swim. And left in tears. I checked the website for any signs stating that the pool is only for people 12 years and up that I may have missed, but as you can guess, that doesn't exist. Only when you search the fine print in a pdf that you have to download does it state that children can not swim. A little word of advise VILLA SPORT CORP...Print on your website that the fancy indoor pool os not for 12 and under and make it clear when you are enrolling members that this gym doesn't not allow for kids to go anywhere in the gym including the indoor pool. I had such high hopes for this gym but was sadly disappointed. This is not a place for families with young kids. If you want to enjoy the pool without your kids and just want to drop them off in a mediocore kids facility then this will work great but for me I enjoy the ability to use the pool with my kid from time to time along with a more comfortable kids club.....Not a fan of this gym.

Ps-it is weird that they make you ask for a towel. That is annoying.
