I have been a client at Village Fitness for a little over 7 years. The entire team at Village Fitness are stars. They are extremely knowledgeable and trained in different aspects of physical fitness. Yet most importantly they all genuinely care about each client. I have learned steps I can take when I’m not at VF to support my health goals. The workout sessions work all aspects of my body, not to mention the encouragement I get to push myself to new levels of physical activity. Village fitness is the real deal! Their team of coaches and physical therapists are top notch. They understand 40+ year old strength training, and they know how to increase your mobility and stamina. They’re the hidden gem of the foothills! Because of them, I can touch my ankles, walk without foot pain, and deadlift 285+ lbs! My physique has greatly improved, thanks to village fitness.

First off, I’ve never been a gym guy. Athlete, yes, workout guy, no. That being said, training at Village Fitness is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Small group sessions focused on people over 40, strength training with increases instituted at a rate appropriate for me, balance and cardio training - all things vital to seniors who want to to remain healthy and vibrant in their later years. Add to that access to physical therapists, nutrition assistance and a crew of exceptional trainers and you can’t go wrong.

I’ve just completed my first 12 week round of training at Village Fitness and I highly recommend it. Knowing I’m getting a mix of strength, mobility and cardio each week means I’m able maintain a baseline of health with minimal mental effort. I love that I can see progress from week to week and the quarterly check in with established milestones help assure me I’m on the right track. All the trainers are great and I think each offers something a little different; I feel free to bounce around as needed to accommodate my schedule. There is enough variety and accountability to keep me coming back. I’m inspired by long term members that lift more than folks half their age. I joined Glendora Village fitness in March of 2024. What I love the most is the attention that I get from the trainers during my workouts. It’s a group workout but it is very individual. Trainers make sure that all your movements are precise and that you are meeting your personal goals. The trainers encourage you to challenge yourself and I see the result's of my hard work. But above it all I am stronger than I have ever been. I look forward to my workout on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. It’s a community of positivity and motivation. I’m so glad I decided to join. My only regret is not starting weight training earlier. I am in my late 60’s and have been working out at Village Fitness for about two years and I am stronger than I’ve ever been. I never thought about going to the gym because I’ve never had a weight problem. The one thing I don’t regret is choosing Village Fitness to guide me on my journey. I have confidence in the science behind their exercise routines because they’re developed by doctors of physical therapy. We get nutrition tips at the end of each session. My workouts at Village Fitness have literally changed my life. At over 60, and after having had two knees and a hip replaced, I rode my bike almost daily but felt slow and old. I originally went to Village Fitness for physical therapy but ended up signing up for the small group classes—and I'm so glad I did. I’ve been lifting weights for over 20 years but had never worked with a barbell before. Hannah has been fantastic to work with; she keeps a close eye on my form and made sure I learned how to do the new exercises correctly. She challenges me to get stronger, but always at a pace that makes sense for me.

One thing I really appreciate is their approach to teaching—they make sure we understand why we’re doing each exercise, which I find incredibly valuable. Squats were the hardest for me, but working one-on-one with a physical therapist helped me fine-tune my form, and now I’m lifting heavier with confidence.

I also took advantage of their nutrition program, and Casi was great to work with. She taught me a lot about how to eat in a more balanced and healthy way. My husband and I especially enjoyed the grocery store trip to Sprouts—it was eye-opening to learn what all the different food labels actually mean.

What really stands out is how much they prioritize client care. You truly feel appreciated from the moment you walk in. The small perks—like cold, scented towels after a workout, their client holiday party, kombucha in the lobby, and frequent samples of wellness products—really show how much they value their clients. Customer service is clearly their top priority, and you always feel seen and heard.

Village Fitness takes a well-rounded approach to health and fitness, and I’m so glad they’re local to me.

Village Fitness has extended my working life! I'm stronger and more fit than I was in my 20s and 30s. (I'm in my 60s) That's not hyperbole!

The well thought out exercise plans are constantly tweeked so boredom doesn't set in. You still work on the same general set of core movements, however. I also like that VF has us do fun cardio work, as well!

Finally, every trainer and all other staff are kind and good people! Village Fitness is the best!

I have been attending small group sessions at Village Fitness for or a year now. I am 72 and actually a couple of systemic health issues which affect my joints and muscles. I have noticed a big difference in my strength, balance, energy and feeling of well-being since I started. I’m very happy with my progress This is my lifestyle now, and I intend to keep going and look forward to growing stronger and healthier.

The coaches have expertise (knowledge of good mechanics of the body) and the caring to guide each person in the small group on a very individual basis. I definitely feel all the staff Is very caring and work towards the well-being of each member.

In addition, Village offers a number of health classes free to its members (ie, nutrition snd shoulder health) which I do take advantage of.

A bonus is that it feels like a connected community as the members also are positive and fun and we are all working towards a common goal.

Village Fitness is the BEST! I started as a physical therapy client more than two years ago, working out on my own at home between visits, but I started struggling with motivation while working alone.

After a free trial of the small group workouts, I signed up for a 12-week session in order to get myself on a schedule and have some accountability. My husband was so pleased with the positive changes he saw in me that he insisted I continue. I’m stronger. My balance is better. My stamina, flexibility, and recovery time have improved, and I discovered at 58 that I could SPRINT!

The program is very well thought-out and doable, with accommodations for beginners and those struggling with previous injuries or physical limitations. However, the best part of VFPT is the PEOPLE. From the physical therapists (I’ve worked with three) to the coaches, from the lovely owners to the reception staff, and even the other clients, you couldn’t ask for a nicer, kinder, more caring group of people. They have put together a great program to support their clients in all aspects of health and fitness.

In February 2024, VFPT offered a Valentine’s Day special. I talked my hubby (64) into giving the program a try, and he LOVED it. He goes three times a week now, and we’re both amazed at his progress. His flexibility has improved MARKEDLY. Dr. Justin helped him with his bad knee, and now he’s an animal on the hiking trails. We cannot thank VFPT enough for getting us fit for our next chapter in life. ❤️

I started working out at Village in July of 2024 and I would like to share how it has significantly improved my bone health in less than 6 months time. I have been osteopenic since my first DEXA scan 15 years ago, and have been diagnosed with osteoporosis now for about 7 years. Every scan would get worse and lab markers showed active bone loss. The two big changes I have recently made were to increase my protein (roughly double my previous intake) and start strength training at Village. In Sept., a lab marker for active bone loss decreased by 75% from the previous (6 mo) value. Then, my annual DEXA scan in December showed remarkable improvement and I am no longer classified as osteoporotic, but have improved to osteopenia. My spine result improved by 6.9 %! My doctor, who has been encouraging me to go on an osteoporosis med for years was impressed and told me to "keep doing what you are doing". I am grateful to Village, the well-constructed program, and the caring and encouraging coaches. I love the camaraderie in the group sessions. Living in Fontana, it is a long commute to Village and I wasn't sure I would stick with it for the long haul, but now I can't wait to see what kind of improvement I might have a year from now so I'm committed to my participation at Village.

I have sciatica pain for many years due to prolonged sitting in the office. I came to VH for physical therapy to treat my sciatica pain in March 2023. Afterwards it was recommended to me to join the small group work out. I tried it out for 3 months. I had positive results and decided to renew my contract for one year. My pain is almost gone. Strength training made my back stronger. I highly recommend to people who has mobility problem to try out this place.

I have been a village member for several years. Every session has a trainer, and roughly one out of 3 sessions has a physical therapist in supervision. Technique and form are emphasized in a non-judgmental way. If there is something you can't do they will find a way to work those same muscle groups with a different exercise. I have been going to Village Fitness for about 2 years . I’m 66 years old. This place is exactly what I needed. It is run by physical therapists, who know what they’re doing. There is a very low likelihood of injury. That being said, I am dead - lifting 230 pounds! I did not think that I would be able to do that. I’m doing a number of other things as well. Joining small group training at VF was one of THE best decisions for my health. When I turned 60, I was unable to get out of the car/couch/floor without using my arms for support. Up/down stairs- a problem. My knees had become weak/painful due to loss of muscle/strength. After just 10 weeks of strength training 3x per week, I feel a marked difference. I have gained body strength, improved my balance, feel so much stronger, and am gaining muscle everywhere (something I thought would not happen). Here is what I love about VF: it’s a community of care. The coaches know my name, have worked with me to guide me to my goals-increasing weights, level of difficulty-all at appropriate increments. In a group of 8, we are led through a rotation of different strength and cardio movements, including using weights. There are people of different ages and ability-we have our own goals and the movements are modified to what we can do and progress. The coaches are knowledgeable, encouraging, friendly, and supportive. I sleep better, my mood is better, my sciatica is at bay…and the people who work out there are really nice and friendly. I can get up without using support and my knees are SO MUCH BETTER. The exercises are designed to strengthen all muscles…and it works. One gal is 83…she is my hero (and can overhead press more weight than I can…not a competition, but inspiration). The also do community events- on Saturday, VF organized a local hike. It was fun. I met new people and got a work out. Shout out to the amazing coaches who have inspired me to take back my health: Chuck, Hannah, Taylor, Nicole- thank you for encouraging and helping me. After battling Multiple Myeloma cancer for nearly a year, I was out of shape and dealing with both upper arm and upper leg pain from cancer surgery and newly inserted titanium rods. I limped and could not use my right arm to reach for things higher than my nose. That was January 2019.

Fast forward to 2024. I’ve been part of the Village Fitness family continuously since then. Based on what my wife saw, she joined too. Now we work out together, with friends we met at Village, where we cheer each other on. We also benefit from professional staff feedback, optional free info sessions and ongoing nutritional advice.

I’d never worked out in a gym before so I did not know what to expect. 1 hour, 3 times a week at Village has been the best decision I ever made other than marrying my sweetheart 42 years ago.

I’ve been working out at VF for over 2 years. This is not your run of the mill fitness club or gym. I don’t know anywhere else where your coaches have their doctorates or masters in physical therapy. They are experts in the human body and monitor you closely to make sure you are using the proper form and getting the maximum benefit.

I’ve done both small group training with a max of 8 students or small personal training with a max of 4. Both are great options for people who are trying to gain strength and keep moving.

I’m 56 and am in the best shape of my life. I can’t recommend VF enough. If you’re looking for a life change and not a quick fix, then come check it out. I think you’ll be amazed at helpful it is for you and those you love.

I’ve been with Village Fitness for almost a year now. I started off in the small group program which I liked, but wanted something a bit more focused towards my needs so I recently switched over to semi personal training and I love it.

Regardless of what type of workouts you decide, you still get the same friendly, energetic, motivating and helpful staff. The team is great at helping you set your own personal goals and finding ways to get a good workout in even if you have injuries or other pains.

I joined the Village Fitness small group classes after going through Physical Therapy for problems I was having with my knees. I was a cardio junkie, doing at least one hour of cardio every single day. During PT, Dr. Erik was doing everything he could to convince me to tone down the cardio because it was not doing me any good. He was also concerned that what I was doing might be contributing to my knee issues. He wanted me to join the small group classes at Village where a Coach could monitor me & correct any form issues I might have. I was scared to death that I would gain weight if I stopped doing all that cardio. He assured me I would not, but I did not believe him.
I did agree to start going to the small group classes & found I really liked them (even though we only do about 5 minutes of cardio in each class).
The Coaches are amazing & so helpful. They help me with my form, any concerns I'm having & encourage me to progress to heavier weights based on how I am doing.
I have been going to these classes for over a year & have limited my cardio outside of the classes. And I have NOT gained any weight.
Another thing I have learned is that lifting weights is to gain strength, not just to improve how you look. I never lifted anything heavier than 15 pounds but my arms were toned, so that's all I cared about. With the 12 standards that Village teaches, you gain strength for longevity. I never looked past how much I weighed & how my arms looked. I now know that building strength will help me as I age to be able to continue to do the things I want to do. I will be a grandmother for the first time in October & I want to be able to play with my grandson for many years.
My 15 pound weight limit has improved to 40 pound overhead presses, 170 pound deadlifts & I'm improving the depth of my squats as well. All because of the Coaches who give everyone in class specialized attention.
And the community of people at Village are awesome as well! We all support each other & cheer each other on.
I cannot recommend Village Fitness enough! Joining the classes was one of the best decisions I have made.

I wish there was a Village Fitness in every city! I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who is on the journey of reclaiming their health to consider doing it here. I knew I needed something different than joining a gym after tearing my achilles as I was concerned about re-injury. Village has provided a safe place for me to get active again, pushing myself to do things I didn't think I could, while knowing that the coaches (Hannah, Tara & Casi are amazing!) could redirect me if something isn't feeling right. Village Fitness & PT has absolutely helped me with some of my physical issues (back, knee & groin).
I had been to two other physical therapy facilities before I finally tried Village and the differences have been quite noticeable.
One major benefit is that every time you go to a physical therapy appointment you are one on one with a doctor the entire time.
The doctors are extremely up-to-date on what I would consider cutting-edge treatments and they are all very friendly.
To be completely honest, I did have my doubts that their course of action would help my problems, but I trusted them and did what they asked of me, and they were right!
I'm not going to say that my old beat-up body is back 100%, but I'm much better than it was before I went to Village PT.
The important aspect of this for me is that I now have the tools (taught to me by Village) to continue working to get my body closer to where it can be for me to have a happier, healthier, and much less painful senior life.

I had an awesome experience completing the postpartum pelvic floor recovery program with Dr. Erica! As soon as I started I was so grateful to have found this program and I recommend it to every postpartum mom I know. Although I felt pretty educated about birth and postpartum recovery, Dr. Erica taught me specifically about how the pelvic floor works and what it does which I definitely didn’t know before. She explained everything simply and clearly so it was easy to understand and it helped me target the areas she was talking about in our exercises and know why we were doing them. Having a professional guide me through exercises was essential to my recovery. I had tried online programs and doing YouTube videos myself but I never knew if what I was doing was exactly right. I know that this program helped me though because after 8 weeks my ab separation went from 4 finger width to two, I feel strong and confident in my every day movements, and my belly is passively flatter again. On top of all that it was fun! Everyone at Village Fitness was welcoming and encouraging. I highly recommend.

I worked with Dr. Erica in Village Fitness in Glendora and I completed the Postpartum Program to address pelvic floor issues I was having. Dr. Erica understood how important and sensitive the topic was and her approach was very compassionate, kind, and educational, not to mention effective and absolutely worth the investment in yourself.

Through working with Dr. Erica, I learned my pelvic floor issues were multi-faceted (pelvic misalignment, core muscles strength, breathing technique, state of mind, etc.) and treatment entailed addressing each factor. I was pleasantly surprised when I started seeing results and improvement after the first session. By the end of the pelvic floor physical therapy sessions, all issues were resolved and I had the tools and knowledge I needed to continue to build on the work I did with Dr. Erica.

I started seeing Dr. Erica when I was 31 weeks pregnant and I highly recommend her! She helped ease pain during pregnancy and helped me prepare my body for labor and delivery. This was my second pregnancy and what a difference it was! Dr. Erica helped me better understand my body and the changes it would take to deliver my baby. She gave me exercises to do to prep. After delivery, my midwives commented on how well I did with breathing and engaging the correct muscles during contractions and pushing. I know that every pregnancy and delivery looks different and so much can happen outside of our control, but it was amazing to come into delivery empowered and prepared to work with the natural process that my body needed to take to get the job done. *Edited* to add that I just finished the Postpartum Program with Dr. Erica. She helped me regain strength, deal with lingering pain, and eliminate leaking. I feel much better prepared on a daily basis now to care for my family with strength and ease! A few months ago I had a physical in which my doctor raised the dose on my blood pressure meds and told me I was pre-diabetic. After speaking with Dr. Matt, I signed up with Village Fitness and quickly realized this was no ordinary gym. In their small group session (which is never more than 8 people) I was moving my body in ways I had not moved in years. The coaches are very knowledgeable and very, very motivating! Where do I begin?  I’ve been very active my whole life and I finally was slowed down a bit 3 years ago at the age of 42 when I had my hip replaced.  About 8 months after that I was back doing what I loved, training jiu jitsu.  In March of 2020 I was lifting weights and something went “sideways”.  Unfortunately, this happened the week of the first lockdown so I was unable to seek help for about three months.  I thought I had damaged my replaced hip.  I was in constant pain and couldn’t even comfortably get down on or off the floor.

Finally saw my doctor in the summer of 2020 and found out it wasn’t my hip but I had three bulging discs.  I was given a referral for physical therapy which I did for several months through my insurance.  After several months of PT, I had very little improvement.  I thought I’d never train jiu jitsu again. I thought I’d never be able to run again.  I could barely get down on the ground to play with my daughter.

Fast forward to Feb 2021. After some searching and speaking with Dr. Matt on the phone, I opted to try out Village Fitness and PT.  After my assessment with Dr. Matt, I could tell he had far more insight into the causes of my pain than previous any DPT had and I decided to try a few sessions.  After few sessions over two weeks, I already had a noticeable reduction in pain. I had hurt myself initially doing a deadlift and one of the first things they had me do was deadlift. They carefully coached me through it helped reduce my fear of going through certain motions.  Their PT program is a whole body approach. It didn’t just address my pain but it addresses overall fitness and nutrition so they’re not just addressing one issue. They addressed the root of the problems.  They’re addressing your whole body to help not only fix the pain but also so build every part of your body to prevent future pain.  Dr. Matt has built an amazing physical therapy and fitness center.  Dr. Jacob and Dr. Erik are amazing.  I was able to work with all three of them and they all bring an amazing amount of knowledge and techniques to table.  After about six weeks, I was actually able to run again.  After five months I was able to start training jiu jitsu again. I was able to get my life back again.  I not only am out of pain but have become much stronger and gained mobility.  They have given me the tools to continue to improve on my own.  If you’re struggling with pain or mobility issues, you don’t have to live with it.  Before going under the knife or popping pain pills or living in pain, please go see the team at Village Fitness & PT.

At 59 years old, I spent almost a year dealing with pain and limited mobility in my left shoulder and arm due to “Frozen Shoulder.”  My husband and I are busy people with an active lifestyle, and so it was torture for me not to be able to lift my grand baby, play golf, cello, or perform most exercises without pain, often severe. I was desperate to find a treatment that could restore my shoulder to its full range of motion, and I was even willing to settle for anything that would allow me to do simple basic tasks without pain. Thank goodness a friend referred me to Village Fitness and Physical Therapy.

I just crossed the one year mark of my membership at Village Fitness. In short, it changed my life. When I started at Village, I was facing a future of hip replacement and disability (according to doctors). I was hoping I could slow down the progression. i could not have imagined then that I could be pain free and feel stronger and healthier than I ever have in my life. Village Fitness is a comprehensive fitness, nutrition, and wellness center. Head Coach Chuck walked me through the introductory session with sensitivity and professionalism. Dr. Matt (founder and owner) took the time to review MRI scans and xrays of my back and hips and said he believed Village could help me and that I did not have to be resigned to a future of disability. A year later I am amazed to say he was and is right! I have learned so much from the PT docs and coaches. Wellness and fitness are much more than just working out. I highly recommend Village Fitness and Physical Therapy! This place is amazing! I first came to Village for physical therapy after a friend recommended Dr. Eric. I have bone on bone arthritis in my neck and had severe pain radiating down my arm from a pinched nerve. I quickly realized this was not a typical PT office. Every appointment is spent entirely with the doctor, and while I primarily saw Dr. Eric, who was wonderful, I also had sessions with Dr. Matt and Dr. Jacob, who were also warm, friendly, and knowledgable. I not only got the relief I was looking for at Village, but I learned I was not destined to a life of pain. Dr. Eric helped me understand I had much more control over my pain than I ever realized. That was life changing, and prompted me to start one on one training.
I transitioned from PT to one on one training with Eleisha about 5 months ago, and I absolutely love it and her. She is so knowledgable, and an excellent teacher and coach. She’s kind, patient, but kicks my butt. Following their diet guidelines, I have lost the last 10 pounds I have been trying to lose for 10 years. My cholesterol numbers are fantastic, and I’m pain free.

Village Fitness is not your typical gym!!! Their aim is much more personal than doing cardio or lifting weights, I have gained so much knowledge through the coaches! I have learned important tools to help me succeed in my health journey. Not only have I gained muscle and lost inches, my blood work has also come back with major changes. My risk for diabetes has declined significantly due to my lifestyle choices. Village fitness coaches guide and teach you about healthier habits, healthier cleaner food selections, strength training, physical therapy, tips for stretching those tight muscle groups and ligaments and so much more! Small group settings have been very encouraging to me. I was skeptical about working out with other people but to my surprise it has been part of that great experience, you are all in it together but at your own pace and working towards improving yourself. The coaches are their to assist you and coach through all the steps. I love that they use evidence based practice to educate on healthier life changes!
